We found this place online looking for a cool fun, good food and drinks vibe, before heading out to see Stephen Ashbrook at The Last Exit Live. It did not fall short of fabulous! The staff, the drinks, the food did not disappoint! I had the Vegan Scallops made with mushrooms and it was terrific! So many flavors! The place is quaint and cute and historic to Phoenix. It is amongst new taller buildings but I think that adds to its charm… keeping something “old” in the midst of bigger and more modern buildings! Hope they keep this little secret alive and running for a long time to come!

Went here because the location was super close to our hotel and the building looked super cute. Was pleasantly surprised by great service and fantastic food and cocktails. Highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates, the duck fat potatoes, the short ribs and tiramisu!

We were celebrating a birthday here. The environment is unique and eclectic but warm and welcoming. The decor alone is intriguing. The food was excellent and served beautifully. Service was attentive and friendly. I recommend this restaurant for any occasion but especially for those special ones. There is seating both inside and out.

Update: I've now gone back about a dozen times since my first review and I can still say every dish is delicious. I've tried most of the entrees, appetizers, and desserts at this point, including their seasonal items they switch. Every visit has been worth it. Nice restaurant staff and the vibe is always chill. I've taken several friends here and they've all been impressed as well. Original Review: Every dish was fantastic. the flavors and combinations are unique but complement each other very well. The duck was very tender and cooked pristinely. The dessert was so good I'd go back and try all of the dessert options. The venue is cute and they have a live jazz band there every wed and. thurs evening. The bartender was very friendly and the other customers all seemed respectful and chill. This place has a fig appetizer and it introduced me to how much I love figs. I'll be taking my friends here when they visit from out of state.

We had such a great time at The Ferish House that we wanted to come back before we'd even left! What a beautiful house. Favorites were the pork chop, bitter and blue salad, short ribs, Mac and cheese, and cous cous with veggies. Fantastic service, curated cocktails, select beers and a well priced wine list. Loved that they offer AZ wines. We're big fans of Los Milecs 'Ita's rosè. Park anywhere on the block or in the small lot shared with the coffee place next door. Access through the alley. Walking distance to other great downtown bars.

I didn’t even have time to photo any food because it was so delicious! They have some great cocktails, the dates were delicious and so was the popcorn. Enjoyed a couple desserts also. Service was on point, visited by many servers as well as the chef! Will be back for sure. Great spot for a date night, dinner out on the town, or a cozy spot for some food or a drink.

The house that The Farish House is located in is charming and if you have a large enough group you could sit in 1 room without other customers. There is also a fairly large outdoor seating area with multiple tables. The food is high end French bistro and is very tasty. The salads are generous and the vegetarian dishes imaginative. The poutine with fingerling potatoes was tasty. They also have a very nice list of wines by the bottle and three cocktails are also good according to those in our group. There was some confusion with our order when one of the servers didn't quite understand the order, but this was quickly fixed by the server who was responsible for our table. Definitely worth a trip.

Best French restaurant I have ever been to. This amazing restaurant is in a beautiful, old historic house and serves up great drinks and delicious food. The Tiramisu holds the title "best in Phoenix" - and that I would say is True!

Quaint and charming place with amazing food. Limited on space so make sure to make a reservation each time you go. I say each time because everything on the menu is amazing. Highly recommend getting the dates as an appetizer.

Was able to snag a reservation on one of the busiest weekends during (Waste Management and Super Bowl weekend) and this restaurant was a hit with our entire group! From the cocktails and wine, to the iberico dates, homemade butter, melt in your mouth short-rib, and bread pudding + tirimisu to die for - we could not have asked for a better dining experience! OH and there was live jazz!! ✨🎷

Can't say enough good things about the place. The staff were wonderful, the food was delicious, the jazz trio was fun and talented, the ambiance was unique, quaint, cozy. Perfect spot for my birthday dinner. Thanks so much for a lovely evening, can't wait to go back. :)

We made reservations for brunch today and as soon as we arrived, we were seated promptly. The restaurant is in a house and has seating outside and three of the rooms in the house. It was beautifully decorated and the table set to feed three queens. You have options to have glasses of $3 mini glasses of Prosecco, or full size cocktails. We had about 3 glasses each of Prosecco and feeling good. The coffee was some of the best I’ve had. It really didn’t require cream. We then ordered The Figs as an appetizer - they were stuffed with Gorgonzola and spiced walnut and a honey-butter glaze The flavors were distinct and Tasted sooooo good. I had the spring Blush & Bashful as my main course. It has greens, grapes confit, roasted tomato, pickled radish, shallot and chevre goat cheese. I enjoyed that as well. Perfect for a vegetarian or anyone not interested in having meat in their meal. I hope to visit again and enjoy lunch or dinner. The staff was also very friendly.

For a French cuisine lover this was a pretty good place. We didn't get to enjoy all of the things that other people mentioned since we were only able to get the patio seating. The food was pretty good, just not perfect with the sides paring. Deserts get a special mention though, they were fenomenal. The reason with all of this it's a four and not a five was a few little things that irked us in the service.

I love this place! Amazingly, delicious food, great drinks and I love the atmosphere. The servers are also really great!

  • 5/5 Barry S. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful ambiance wether you choose the patio or one of the quaint rooms inside. Everything we tried was very tasty and I was happy to see some elevated vegetarian entrees. I also found their cocktails to be a cut above, creative and well executed whether you go for the refreshing 'house cup' or the spirit forward '3rd street Manhattan'. All of this means nothing if it isn't backed by good service and the farvish house doesn't disappoint in this regard either service was warm and inviting. Glad we ventured here, it's a gem and we'll be back.

The Farish House did not disappoint! For drinks we ordered a Kentucky mule, and the Cuba Libre. Our wonderful server, Cinta, brought over a sample of their house made ginger beer. It was fantastic. We ordered the Burrata to start, incredible. For entrees, we ordered the short ribs and pork belly with Le Mac and the potatoes on the side. Everything was incredible, especially the short ribs. We were too stuffed for dessert, and brought home many leftovers. Overall, wonderful date night experience. Once it cools down, we’ll be back to enjoy the adorable patio.

Such a unique place & great atmosphere! Sat at the bar and had wine and oysters Rockefeller. Jazz band played on front porch. Definitely want to go back with hubby for dinner.

Small, quaint restaurant nestled downtown. I tried the pork chops with a glass of wine and I was satisfied. We went on a Thursday and enjoyed the sounds of a three-piece jazz band... even while sitting outside underneath the trees. Very, very nice! Metered parking out front. Staff are masked; optional for guess.

Pork chop is one of the best I've ever had (like Steak 44 Tomahawk quality pork chop). Baguette and butter, chefs plate, cous cous and short ribs are all excellent as well.

Farish House has always been a delightful dinner addition to downtown Phoenix, in a charming 1899 bungalow off 3rd Street. Their charcuterie board, their mains, all delightful. But now they've added a spectacular Saturday Afternoon Tea service and it is simply fantastic. A significant spread of four different finger sandwiches, two different scones (with clotted cream and jam), and four desserts, along with a broad tea menu... it's a perfect way to spend a Saturday. And for how generous they are with portions (and the ability to ask for more of each bite!), the value if honestly really great for what you get. Make a point of booking a special afternoon here for tea. (And of course, dinner's great too.)

It was an amazing experience in The Farish House on my birthday! Firstly, we received the outstanding service by Will and it’s definitely one of the best ones we ever had! Secondly, the dishes were wonderful! We loved the dates, ratatouille, the short rib and tiramisu. As a tiramisu lover, I just want to go back for the tiramisu once again…! Lastly, the atmosphere of the restaurant was very pretty and enjoyed looking around the decor. We loved the restaurant and 100% recommend if you’re around downtown Phoenix!

Everything here was fantastic. The food was great- especially the pickled goat salad. I barely made happy hour, but the complimentary truffle popcorn was a great touch. My friends told me the salmon, filet, and charteuterie board were all great too (for those of you who eat meat.) Service was quick and friendly. We loved eating in what appeared to be the parlor of an old home. It was very homey, welcoming, and comfortable. The only suggestion I have is to update the cocktail menu to include novel, craft cocktails instead of only including classic cocktails.

The service was great and everyone was nice. The atmosphere was historic but it was unique and old-fashioned. The food was average but we are not big fans of figs it seems. I believe the restaurant would be better for lunch. The parking is kind of a mess with the air garage configuration. I am giving it a score of 2 because the restaurant gave my card number to the air garage company without my permission and without explaining the parking fees. Across-the-board would recommend it for a nice relaxing lunch.

My experience at Farish House Restaurant was truly delightful. As a cozy, family-owned bistro, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We started with two superbly crafted cocktails, the Manhattan and Old Fashioned, accompanied by delicious olives as appetizers. The simplicity of the side salads didn't compromise on taste, and the fish of the day served over lentils and fresh asparagus was a culinary delight. The combination of excellent drinks, delightful dishes, and the restaurant's welcoming ambiance makes Farish House a must-visit gem in the heart of the city. The rating would have been 5 stars if service wasn’t interrupted by a staff meeting in the middle of our dinner….

LOVED this place! The food was so fresh and delicious. Went with a friend who is GF and dairy free and I’m a pescatarian. The waitress was very accommodating and helpful with our diet restrictions. We went for dinner with reservations and several food items were not available and our server spoke with the chefs to get us something amazing! The ambiance was so fun and I will be back! :)

This is a cozy little secret downtown that we enjoyed thoroughly. Being small (a former residence), it's a bit cramped, but not uncomfortably so. My brother-in-law said it was the best steak he'd had in his life. There is also a wine menu with some interesting blends - if only I hadn't been driving! Just a caution: it is downtown, and we we lucky enough to find parking just behind the building, which is good because I don't know where else we could have parked. Our wait-person was very professional and really seemed as if she enjoyed serving us.

It is a beautiful and one-of-a-kind place with great staff (Chance was so amazing and helpful!!!) and atmosphere. The Jazz band came out as we were finishing up and they were the perfect touch. The food was delicious and unique. If you go during happy hour, they'll bring you truffle popcorn. It's delicious! We got The Dates and the Honeyed Nut & Fruit Crostini. Both were so good! The Foutine (duck fat fingerling potatoes with duck confit and Danish blue cheese) and Raspberry Crème Brulée were my favorites due to their exceptional flavors that are unlike other spots I've been to. We also got the Chianti braised Short Ribs, which were so tender and flavorful, and several amazing cocktails that I highly recommend ~ especially the Basil Gimlet and the Peach Cobler drink. It's like no other place I have ever been to, and I want to go back already!

I can’t say enough about the food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend the macaroni and cheese, braised short rib, and the tiramisu. Nice place for a date because the setting is very romantic. Highly recommend!

Cute restaurant with homely charm. This is a historic home in downtown Phoenix, converted to a restaurant and bar. If you’re lucky, there might be live jazz music on the patio. We enjoy the food, the ambience, and the service.

Charmingly decorated bistro near downtown Phoenix. Scallops are mediocre but the demi baguette is yummy. I ordered Bouillabaisse, and enjoyed the bread more than the seafood. Personally I would prefer searing snapper and monkfish more, and a little bit more seasoning. Duck tasted very good.

I have been several times and it was a wonderful experience each time. Amazing food, lovely service, delicious drinks. Highly recommend this place. I had the red snapper with acorn squash this time. The spiced pumpkin cake was incredible!

Truly wonderful. I have dined in/ordered takeout from the Farish House at least six times this year, and every experience, every dish, has been 110% worth it. Food is unbelievably good (the cheese plates are a must here) and the cocktails complement the cuisine so well. Value is great — I have never had a dish here that I thought was overpriced. The staff and owners of the House are also excellent. They're kind, attentive, and just generally a joy to talk to. They clearly have a passion and love for their establishment, and it shines through every time I have come here. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a dinner or two here this month.

Wow, what a great restaurant. This place could not have been better. From the moment we walked in the door until we left this was a restaurant to remember. The staff was friendly, informative, and attentive. The food was perfect and the chef knows how to prepare duck confit! The wine list is interesting, varied, and well priced. We will be back, soon. Great French bistro. Delightful renovated old home with beautiful patio. Very friendly waitstaff. Food is delicious. We loved brunch. French toast was awesome. Good drinks and French press coffee. Look forward to our next visit.

Comfort Food at it's best form. French Italian. Romantic. Tastey gourmet food. Their bread pudding, the chocolate tart, honey cake. The truffle popcorn at the bar. The whiskey smash. The live entertainment on Thursday. And now take out and delivery. Wow place checks all the boxes. In a house built in 1899.

We are in town for a conference and The Farish House stood out to us because it was literally in a house. The cocktails were delicious. We especially enjoyed the Manhattans. The dates were a big hit with the table for our appetizer. We all ordered different entrees and everyone was impressed with what they ordered. Great experience, atmosphere, and staff

This French restaurant is a challenge I'm not only impressed by the charm and ambiance but the is truly thoughtful for vegans vegetarians and meat eaters. The charm you will experience a home built in 1899. The bar the cocktails both the Manhattan and the raspberry lemon martini are exquisite. The food small dishes and large the food is excellent well prepared The arizona citrus marinated olives with the manchego cheese chenel Chevron cheese and the Portuguese chorizo and spanish prosciutto I ordered the eggplant others the short ribs and the peposo is true comfort food. All plates were completely finished and enjoyed I'm truly excited to bring friends from France her. This will be a place that will have long lines and sold out reservations Comments for owners... tell patrons to speak in their library voices

I rarely leave reviews and can't believe there aren't hundreds of reviews for this place. I'm thinking that those who happen along The Farish house, they probably want to keep it a secret because its so fantastic and don't want to wait an hour for a table. If there was a wait, it would be totally worth it!! I'm so glad I stumbled across this gem of a place. Riding a tandem bicycle, we were hungry and stopped to see the menu. At first, I was concerned our bicycling clothes were way too casual but the staff made us feel welcome. Inside, it is absolutely lovely. Historic, quant, beautifully decorated. Come dressed up or casual, fantastic place and people. We sat outside, great atmosphere. The food is fantastic and the desert was beyond AMAZING!!!!! I can't wait to come back.

This place is a gem! Delicious food, casual, romantic atmosphere and the friendliest staff! The patio is gorgeous in the evening. We had the fingerling potatoes and noble bread as starters, just fantastic, classy, scrumptious dishes. We had the Le Mac with bacon, Peposo and cassoulet as entrees. Each one was melt in the mouth delicious and I'll definitely be thinking about the meal for days. This is a perfect place to meet up with friends, because they're super accommodating with dietary restrictions and it's cozy/gorgeous af inside, but if you're thinking of taking anyone on a date downtown and you don't take them here, serious opportunity missed.

Beautiful eatery, lovely interiors, and a great vibe. The wine list is excellent, too. Next time, I'll want to try a cocktail or two - they looked great. The food however, was a bit disappointing the more I think about it. The flavours are big and bold, but not balanced. Same with the textures. Understand it could be the genre, but the food is all incredibly rich without let up. Be interested in trying their brunch menu. Will give Farish House another go!

Love it! Was looking for somewhere new (to us) for dinner tonight and the menu was fabulous when I read it online. The menu was still fabulous when we got to the restaurant and we had a hard time picking just a few things to share. The decor is great, really sets the tone, and our server was attentive and friendly. Very nice people. Duck rillettes, yes please! Beautiful presentation, great flavor. Peposa - short ribs and gnocchi dish, brilliant - those carrots are perfectly al dente, which is amazing given their size. Short ribs incredibly tender and the sauce is fantastic. It might seem odd to mention the small salad with the roasted tomatoes, but it's really more about that lemon basil vinaigrette :) We will be back, can't wait to get the chance to try the figs, the dates, the duck fat potatoes, and so many more things on your menu.

How do I write a review for a gem like this!!!! All I can say is!!!! GO!!! The merger of the ambiance, the wine and the creativity in the food are divine!
