Any native born Arizonans who knows their Mexican/Chile cuisine would recognize that this is an excellent restaurant. Could not recommend more delicious. Summer visitors beware that there is a lack of indoor seating (only outdoors) but the food was so good I didn’t care! I got the burrito and it is exactly what o crave when I visit home.

I’ve been coming here since 1985. I used to live a few streets north of here, and didn’t even know about it until a friend told me. I haven’t been here for at least 10 years, but they still deliver on great food. Their corn green enchiladas are the best I’ve ever had. I decided to put in a big online order, and sample a few different things. Got an enchilada style green burro, 3 big green chile enchiladas, chips, green chili burrito and some shredded beef tacos with rice and beans. They don’t have a huge menu here. It’s not cheap, and at $4.50 for each tacos, I’d probably skip those next time. Their green chili sauce is definitely the best.

Really this is what everyone raves about. 3 way enchilada style was definitely not worth the price. Found 6 pieces of what looked like meat but was just fat. Red Chile sauce was bland. The salsa was horrible, pretty much taste like tomato juice. Nothing is spicy or very flavorful. Burrito side of guacamole, side of sour cream and chips over 20 bucks. 2 stars because kid at the register was friendly and helpful How does this place have good reviews. 24hrs later I’ve been on the toilet all day. I have a iron stomach and this is horrible. It’s like I’m prepping for a colonoscopy.

I really love the food and Ive been a customer for over 25 years. However, the prices have become literally ridiculous. I understand about paying for good food but there comes a point when it just not worth it. In addition to the sassy service I've been getting the last couple of times I think I'll stay home and cook. Sorry Ritos, but the prices at your takeout joint are insane. It seems like the barrio kitchen lost its homey feel.

I have been coming here for 20 + years and If I could give more than 5 stars I would it is impossible to say anything bad about ritos and, All of their food is phenomenal but they're beans are Better then any beans l ever tasted in my Life and I'm a bean and cheese girl but if I had to suggest any item on the menu I would have to tell you to get a green chili burrito mixed withe beans and cheese enchilada style with rice and beans on the plate you won't regret it and will return over and over and so will you kids when the grow up mine does and i love them surprising me with ritos one taste and your hooked promise 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋🥰🥰🥰🥰🍽🍽🍽🍽🍽

The location is nondescript it doesn't appear to be any sign indicating that it's a taco shop. Apparently all the locals know about it judging by the cars that are driving up and parking on the curb. I ordered tacos. They were okay. They were shredded beef and chicken. They were fried in corn shells. I can't say they had a lot of flavor. The hot sauce was not hot. And in the end it cost me $31 for six tacos and a soda. I don't really recommend this location for tacos. Maybe it's better for other meal choices.

Basically no flavor, my tastebuds are extremely sensitive now that I’m pregnant and this didn’t give me anything to taste. Not only that but there was barely any meat in the burritos it was mostly tortilla and watery sauce. I was super disappointed considering the fact that this is considered the “best place” in Phoenix for green Chile. I’m so sad I got a green Chile burrito and with rice and beans and a enchilada style red Chile burrito and it was 30$!!! Way too over priced for I got. I’m over these little restaurants taking big money for a small amount of food. I wanted to be able to enjoy my food when I do have the money to enjoy take out but I was mistaken.

This restaurant has been making great Mexican food since I was a kid. I had my first Green Chili burrito back in the late 70's when I got out of Garfield elementary school across the street. My grandfather who worked for the City of Phoenix back then ate here at least three times a month because he loved the food. This place continues to serve the same great food I remember eating with him. There is a legitimate reason Rito's wins New Times Best of Phoenix each year.

Absolutely the best Mexican food in the city. A favorite among the locals. While the food is outstanding the location is true Mexican barrio. Remember it's take out so if you want to eat there you will be sitting on concrete picnic tables with the pigeons. During lunch hour the wait time is terrible. You will stand and wait a long time. I phoned in my order and still waited a half hour once I got there. But I would still go back because the food is that good. My favorites are the Bean, the Red Chili and Green Chili burritos. I live in Atlanta and fly to Phoenix once a year. I always stop at Rito's get their burritos during my stay and when I leave I buy two dozen burritos, freeze them and fly back to Atlanta to share them with family and friends.

Recommended by a friend who used to live in PHX. I would have never known this building was one of the best Mexican food joints in town. There isn't any signage at all. You just have to ":know" this is the place. I ordered the Green Chili burrito and the Cheese and Bean Burrito with Enchilada-style. Can I just tell you how amazing this food tasted? Incredible, and this is coming from a Texan. The refried beans are on another level here. I wish I could take these home with me and eat them whenever I wanted. Dont miss this place. It's awesome.

Very good! Little bit of a wait on a Saturday afternoon, but not bad. (They do take credit and debit cards now.) We got the green chili burrito and chicken enchilada.

First time being here, a little house across from a school. The food was very very tasty. All the workers were great and tipped the young lady working hard with a great attitude despite her challenges in life. I will be back and young lady, keep smiling as I will be back just because of your kindness.

I have been coming to Ritos for years and will continue. Let me make that clear because the food is unbelievable. My only negative feedback is, the prices are ridiculous. I ordered a green chili burrito with cheese on the inside and enchilada style with green sauce instead of red. My bill was $18.56. That price is just for the burrito itself. I could buy a small roast for the amount and feed more than 1 person. I love their food, but just wondering what substantiate the cost being so high. Rito's for sure has a local backing. Some newcomers don't even know it's a restaurant because there is no signage. However Rito's has become a super successful mom and pop shop with Taco Guild prices and even less of an ambiance. We pay high prices not even to be able to dine in air conditioning and not have nasty birds around waiting for you to leave a speck of food, if you so choose to eat outside. BTW, I wasn't giving an opinion on Taco Guild it was just a comparison of a place with nice seating and ambiance. Newcomers just know the food is excellent but not cheap and not dine in really. However that will not stop me from frequenting Rito's.

One of the best Mexican food restaurants in town. There red chile burritos and enchiladas are the best. It is very popular so I suggest you order ahead or you will be waiting outside in the heat for quiet sometime to place and receive your order.

Not sure why this place has 4.6 stars. The cubed steak burrito is literally just cubed steak with a lot of red sauce. No rice or beans or pico de Gallo or anything else. The chicken burrito is basically the same with very minimal guacamole & that’s about it. I’m visiting from California where they don’t play with their Mexican food so I’m expecting carne asada, all of the fixings etc & tho place has none of that. And for $23 for two ppl (two burritos & 2 sodas)….mmmm, nah not worth it.

So good, so good, so goooood! They were open for carry out only due to the pandemic so I drove an hour to pick up the food and an hour back before I could eat it, and it was still amazing! Great flavor great price and portion size is good too!

I've been going to Riot's since I was 8 years old. I can't tell you how great the food is. You really have to go experience real Mexican food. Everything is fresh and great. Green chili burrito is the best.

  • 5/5 Gloria R. 2 years ago on Google
I have to say that I believe these are about the best burritos in Phoenix!!! The Green Chile 🌯 always has a great flavor. The rice and beans are made the same everytime which means they are always good...not the case in some restaurants. If you haven't tried it yet...it is definitely a Must Try place!!

  • 5/5 Denisa S. 2 years ago on Google
I am from Phoenix, Arizona and whenever I go back home to visit I make it mandatory to stop here and get food. THE BEEF TACOS !!!! No other place has seasoned and tender beef to perfection with fresh soft cheese and lettuce ( I don't like tomatoes so I opt out) and they are not stingy with the meat in the tacos either. Back in the day they use to sell out of tacos and you were lucky if you made it in time but they are SOOO worth it!!!!! One of the things I miss the most about home.

Great food small old school building across the street from a school. You order online and pick up or just pick up and eat out side. There is a good size parking lot next to the place. Gotta try the burritos enchilada style won't be disappointed.

Delicious rice and beans, red chili burrito is my favorite to order from here. Green chili burrito is also tasty. This place has the best Mexican food in Arizona!

Authentic!! It’s like Nana is in the kitchen cooking, you won’t find better Mexican food!! It’s amazing. Not ideal for large groups or parties. It’s more of a takeout place, and the area isn’t the best. It’s a joke in the wall but my gooooodness the delicious food makes up for it! We ordered a green chili burrito (enchilada style) rice, beans and shredded beef tacos! AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • 5/5 Deborah O. 5 months ago on Google
This is my go to place. Usually order the 3-way burrito. Both the red and green Chili are delicious so I enjoy them both in this burrito. It's a small place , you can sit outside or do take out . The staff is always very friendly. This place has been around since I was a child, and it seems to only get better to me.

I’ve been going to this little gem for over 30 years. I simply think the food is the best. There’s no indoor seating and there are a few benches out front so you can eat there only when the weather is nice. It’s very popular and really a wonderful part of this part of Phoenix. Very authentic Mexican food.

The food at this place is so good, with every bite I long for more. The taste is like heaven on my tongue. You want some pleasure, give this place a try. If your complaining about anything from Rito's the problem might be with you, maybe you need to go eat somewhere else. The staff are great and the Owner is hot just like the burrito's. YUMMY YUMMY YUM I want me SOME!!

Rito's is a family owned small restraunt tucked away in a neighborhood close to downtown Phoenix. This restraunt is very busy during the lunch hour. The food ordered here is usually to go. There are tables outside. The menu is simple, the food is delicious and has good size portions. 😋

Omgoodness!!! Sooo fricken GOOD!! and just like my dads brought back some great memories 😋🥰 and the ladies I said choose for me on the tostada and the guacamole tostada was Fabulous!! YOU HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT AND ALL THE CULTURE HERE 🤗🤗

The original location in the historic Garfield District is my favorite stop for green burro enchilada style. Love coming to downtown Phoenix so I can make a pit stop for delicious Mexican food.

  • 4/5 Elizabeth R. 1 year ago on Google
The food is amazing so if you are looking for great Mexican food, this is the place to go. However, if you are looking to go in and sit down somewhere and eat, understand that you are going to be sitting outside on tables eating from take out containers and drinking from bottles. Our group opted to dine on site and it worked out well. The downside is there's no public restrooms or a place to wash your hands etc. So, getting to go, definitely the best way to go!

  • 5/5 Fabian R. 1 year ago on Google
I had the red chili burrito. A little pricey but the food was bomb! I think they’re in the New Times for this same burrito making a Top 10 list. Nice area, quick service. I did dine in, I’ve been back subsequently for the same red chili burrito and it’s always on point.

The chicken tacos had flavor. I did not enjoy the shredded beef taco. After having ate the tacos I was in the bathroom. My stomach was not happy! I believe it was because of the grease the tacos were fried in. Yuk!! Won be eating there again.

I've been ordering from Ritos for the last 30 years. The food is always delicious. Yesterday I called in order for pick up. There really needs to be more organization, communication and better customer service. I get it, the Covid thing has everyone scrambling to keep safe. But please be up front on pick up times / if your short staffed/ wait times. We want your food, you want our money but we also want to be treated with respect, and have our order ready and prepared correctly.
