Nice spot on a corner. The service was good and friendly. The pad Thai was delicious and plenty of sauce, not dry. Would I come here again? Yes, yes I would.

My first Thai experience! The food was delicious - I had the Thai Basil Signature Dish, Crab Rangoon and Mai Tai. I was pleased with all of my choices. The service was a bit inattentive and slow, but I still recommend Thai Basil Signature Downtown Phoenix 👌🏽!

Cannot fault. Excellent service and fantastic food with a good portion size. Lovely friendly family atmosphere, i visited on a Monday evening, it was quiet when i arrived but i was given a warm welcome. I sat on one of the higher tables at the window, very comfortable, and was presented with a good choice from the menu at very reasonable prices. My order was taken quickly and politely and i waited a very short time before my food was served hot and fresh. I didnt have to ask for a refill on drinks, the lady and gentleman refreshed it. As soon as they saw it deplete. The food (barbecue chicken) was amazing, so full of flavour. I will use this as my restaurant of choice each time i visit phoenix. Definitely 10 out of 10

Wonderful service! And the food is especially good. I would recommend Thai Basil to anyone. Particularly those who have never experienced Thai food.

Very good authentic Thai food, I tried their pad Thai and it was fantastic! It was so good I got an extra order to go. Not very busy and good atmosphere. Many dishes to choose from and lots of variety make it hard to choose, but can't go wrong with pad Thai! They are on point with the heat levels, I chose medium/hot (4) and they can go higher.. when I try a new place I start here and see how hot I can go! Parking is very limited and it's only street parking with a meter.

Great food and friendly service. I recommend the drunken noodle with beef. The meat is seasoned perfectly and is tender. Beers come with a frosted glass. What more could you ask for?

The food was good. We ordered the lunch special with panang curry and red curry. The soup and the egg rolls were good. The portion was really small though.

Yummy place, the food was good. Three meats signature plate. Spicy number 3 had a kick. They also served a cilantro broth soup that was good. Lunch special pate.

I've ate here before and love the service and food . The meal I ordered , the waiter asked how hot did I want it . Mild . I really enjoyed that I was given a option to say how spicy . I will continue to go there and enjoy the atmosphere , service and food .

Excellent Thai food and service. I ordered Pad Thai level 3 was just perfection at the restaurant. I do enjoy a spicy food at the comfort from home. So next time I take out I will order a level 4. Thank you for being fast and friendly with the customers.

Now this place!! My mouth and I had a party for dinner! The flavors were spectacular. I’m a spice head but even their level 2 set me ablaze so watch out. I could’ve easily got a level one and felt at home. I’ll know next time and there will be a next time I’m in DTPHX. I tried more than once to go back before I left later in the week. I wanted to try more of their dishes. We all loved it! Only thing was the size of the place. Not big enough to accommodate lots of folks for all that delicious flavor. There were about 12 of us and we were at 3 separate tables but close proximity to each other. That seemed to fill up the place. If you like Asian, Thai, or anything good, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Had the pad thai and it was very good. The dessert of the sticky rice with coconut milk and fresh mango was beyond delicious. Friendly staff, I highly recommend this place.

The stellar reviews brought me to Thai Basil and I can see what all the hype is about! I ordered chicken Pad Thai, spice level 2 and an order of mango sticky rice. I ordered take out and the gentleman who took my order was very friendly. I was surprised at how large the portion of Pad Thai was but then I realized they have lunch portions as well as dinner portions and maybe I needed to specify I wanted the smaller one so just be aware. Flavor-wise I’m very pleased with the Pad Thai, although next time I think I’d get a higher spice level and specify I want the smaller portion. Total I paid $27 which seems a bit steep for Pad Thai and mango sticky rice, however, I love Thai food and will definitely return to try some other favorites!

This place is awesome! Went here for my friends birthday we had 8 ppl no reservation and had no problem getting seated. The pineapple fried rice is bomb! I love that all the food comes out consistently one after the other. It's like an army of thai food just coming at you went here a second time ordered the garlic pepper beef and some other dishes all good! One thing I love is the service it is consistent. Our server was polite and brought me spicy fish sauce cause he knew what was up

Food here is really good, one of my favorites thai food restaurants, prices are decent but just one inconvinience, since it is located in the heart of downtown Phoenix is not easy to find a parking slot, before offices lock up due to COVID pandemia finding a parking slot at lunch time was pretty hard, now is easier but still be prepared to pay with credit or debit card if you park on the surrounding streets to this restaurant

Our daughter loved their food. She ate two servings of her food. We ordered their signature dish which had chicken, fresh not frozen veggies, rice and a nice sweet and savory sauce. Food was ready very quickly. It was confusing who our waiter was as we had 4 different people seat, serve, bring drink and bring check. Our food was plentiful portion and served hot. There was unfortunately a hair in our food, we didn't see till plate was almost empty. We ordered an adult beverage called a Mai Thai. It was almost as costly as our food which served 3 people, it didn't look like the menu photo and tasted only sweet( no alcohol or very little). We paid cash and the change was given in large bills in hopes of prompting a large tip. We had other change so we tipped with ones. Thank you!

Gut gelegenes Restaurant in Phoenix Downtown.

A cool spot in downtown PHX within historic towers. Very welcoming and courteous staff. Their menu is great! Always grab a few pot stickers to start off the meal. Their drink menu has a bit of variety as well. Which is very appreciated.

Had lunch there off their lunch specials menu. Comes with soup and egg roll. Depending on the meat choice you can out of there for under $15. Service was good and food was delicious. Although I could only handle medium heat (3/5). I'll be back.

Went to try the sushi plane next door but the wait was too long so I decided to go here! I’m glad I did because I was not disappointed!!!!! Excellent customer service, great prices and outstanding food! I had the curry noodles with tofu and vegetables. It was the best I’ve had in Phoenix! I almost had the calamari as an app. I will return to try the drunken noodles, and pad Thai!

Food was good and service was great. Our favorite was the Pad See-Ew it was amazing! Unfortunately they didn’t have veggie spring rolls with peanut sauce while we were there and didn’t have mango sticky rice, mangoes weren’t ready yet 😢 other than that we really enjoyed our meal at this place

Holy WOW! I LOVE THAI food and this place did not disappoint. It tasted so good I couldnt Stop eating. The fresh rolls were a little loose with made them fall apart easy but they were made FRESH! and very yummy. Great peanut sauce. The mango 🥭 Salad was heaven sent. The sauce was amazing, sweet, sour, limey, so good. I didn't order a spice level so it was not spicy at all, but next time I'll try a level 3. I like some heat. Food was pretty and fresh. Service was super fast. Definitely a gluten free friendly restaurant 👍🏻😋 went back on my last night in phoenix cuz they were so good. Had the papaya salad, fresh rolls, a thai beer and the panang curry (they called it peanut curry) freaken amazing!!! Drool worthy.

Food was delicious. Three of us shared the peanut curry, the Thai basil signature dish both with chicken and medium spice level. Also had the coconut shrimp. Everything was so good. It was the perfect amount of food without too much leftover since we were going to a concert after and didn't want to have any leftovers. We also had two shots of patron and 2 sodas. The bill was $70. Service was great, our waiter has a good sense of humor and really nice.

That was our last day in AZ trip. We wanted to eat something happy for our Indian tummy. So we searched thai and found this place. Unfortunately we were late for dine in on a weekday so we had choice of taking only to go. We ordered drunken noodles and curry noodles. Opened it up in airport. Oh man both were amazing we could not stop eating. That too the curry noodles was so delicious. Must try in Phoenix downtown. It had full crowd when we went to get to go. I got a mojito there, even the drink was good. Highly recommended!!

I was downtown today for jury duty and decided to try out Thai Basil. I love Thai food and curry. It was busy at lunch. I got seated right away. I had my order taken quickly. I ordered Red Curry with Chicken. It came out quickly. It tasted good. I chose a heat of 3. I was happy but not impressed with the flavor. It looked better than it tasted. I had a Iced Sweet Green Tea. It was delicious. The service or lack of service was the issue. I was never asked how the food was. When I paid the waitress and cashier attempted to be nice yet, it did not feel sincere. I paid 18.00 for lunch and it did not match the price.

Great food! Ate a good Thai food after a long time. My entire family loved the food preparation and the service was good too! This restaurant is located in downtown Phoenix. It is very bright with lots of windows. It has a pleasant ambience. We were promptly seated and our beverage orders were taken. I ordered fried rice with shrimp and pork(medium spice). The portion size was good. I could barely eat it all. It was well-seasoned and quite tasty. Overall, I was happy with the food and service. I recommend this restaurant and I look forward to trying a different dish next time.

This is a quaint little restaurant downtown, and it's only a couple of blocks from the Comerica Theatre. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. I got the Thai Basil Signature dish with chicken and my friend got the yellow curry. It was so fresh and delicious!Lots of options for vegans, and they will also make the food less spicy if you want. Can't wait to go back.

Overcooked spring rolls. Yellow and pineapple curry, hardly any meat in the curry. The curry was mostly the sauce and potatoes (with the rice - 1 on the side for the two orders)

I want to like this place sooo much. The spicy lime sauce is amazing. Salad fell short. Chicken seemed like it was pre prepared and just thrown in sauce and over cooked/dry. I looked at going around at the veggies than the pile of chicken (weird huh?). First time I went there, I had Calamari for an app. Huge pieces and OVER cooked. Rubbery granted but not even lemon, Sarracha or chili sauce helped it. Don’t order the side Noodles. It’s just drained noodles. Nothing else. Went four times now and consistency is not there. Especially asking for Thai spicy. (Ex or not)

I came here with a friend who knows the town. I am reluctant to go to Asian restaurants off the beaten path. So I asked her if she knew any great Thai restaurants in Phoenix. So she recommended basil. The hostess was polite and nice. But the silverware was as cheap as can be. No straw for the drinks and cheap napkins. The food was decent but not enough to make it a favorite. The bathrooms were amazing clean. Hmmm well ?

Pretty good place to have a meal at. Prices are cheap for the quality of food you get. The service is decent. I've been there several times already and I can say they are very consistent with the quality. The only downside, I would say, is that it feels a bit tight in there.

  • 4/5 Paul V. 7 years ago on Google
This restaurant was about 5 to 6 minutes walk from the court complex in downtown Phoenix. I went here on a lunch break from my interview for jury duty. While it is small, its corner location affords it a good view of the nearby street intersection. The service is polite, professional & efficient. A very small side salad with Thai vinaigrette dressing was put on my table, as soon as I sat down, along with the menu. The lunch menu is a single laminated sheet, listing popular dishes & drinks. Once ordered, the lunch dish was brought out quickly. The Pad Thai with pork I had was pretty typical. Its portion size was just right. If I am in the vicinity again, I will consider stopping in & trying other dishes.

Have eaten here a number of times. The food and atmosphere are genuine, as are the people that own and run this establishment. My favorite menu item thus far ithe drunken noodles. Always warm and friendly. Highly recommended.😎

Good Thai restaurant with great food and reasonable prices. The restaurant is centrally located and sits on the light rail. The food option are the traditional Thai dishes with various levels of spiciness. The food is tasty and looks delicious. Dropping 3* for the restaurant due to today's experience. They charged me $3.50 for a glass of club soda on a $9.25 order of Beef Fried Rice. When I said that it is unacceptable and I want to see the menu showing that bubbly water is $3.50 a glass, the waiter mumble-bumbled something and walked off, leaving me waiting for 5 minutes with no resolution. Well, here is 3* off for your $3.50 soda glasses.

Second visit to the location and hit the jackpot on my dish. Went for the Curry Noodles with #4 heat. It was absolutely delicious. Steaming hot, and the spice was on point. Great place for a meal when you are in the city.

  • 3/5 Rahul C. 4 years ago on Google
Food overall is decent. Spice rating doesn't mean much as spicy noodles at 4 were mild while Penang curry at the same level was mouth burning. Generally decent though everyone liked the food.
