WASTE OF TIME & MONEY! The reviews DO NOT match the quality of the food! I’m not sure why people are giving this place 5 stars? There are so many other places near by that BLOW this place out of the water. LET’S START HERE, Parking is horrible. Take out only. The line was just too long for this place. The food was way too expensive for what was served. There is no accurate priced menu. They charge what they want and add their own tip. Oh, my meal below was $39 (FYI). I love small local restaurants but the lack of transparency and consistency doesn’t sit well with me. THE FOOD; There was just something wrong about the taste of the crab puffs and the creamy filling. An after taste that was oddly sweet yet metallic. Oh they were also burnt which made it hard to eat. The egg rolls were also burnt and had no flavor. The egg rolls at Jack-in-the-Box are WAY better. The orange chicken was just afoul, it was overly breaded and soggy in the middle. You can get better quality ingredients at Pei Wei restaurant up the block. The only positive thing about this meal was the portion sizes and the chicken low main dish. It was surprisingly good but not the “best in Phoenix” as people have recommended. This place doesn’t beat Panda Express that’s for sure. Chicken was soft and tender. If you’d like to try this place, I’d suggest getting there early, only get one thing, do not go on an empty stomach, and order the small portion of your dish.

Don't get me wrong. The food is delicious. The reason why they get one star is because they take so damn long to serve the food and every week the price changes. Again. The food is amazing. The service and prices are absolutely trash. If you love waiting when your in a rush, this is the place for you. I waited an hour today for 2 egg rolls and a cream puffs. 😩 smh. Good luck.

Amazing food!! Prices look to have changed from the menus posted already. Did not have a chance to take a photo of it. Well worth the price and portions you get. Seems like more a “locals” spot which makes it’s great! Does take while on the wait, I would say about 20-30min. If you have the chance to park closer to the widow area, do it. They don’t have indoor seating, so they call out your number with an intercom. Loved it! Spot worth checking out.

I am from the East Coast where Chinese food is beyond exceptional. I stopped eating Chinese when I moved to AZ from the nasty taste. This place has given my hope! The food was hot fresh and delicious. Very affordable and good customer service. I got shrimp egg foo young and shrimp & broccoli w/ fried rice. So good. The best I had in past 5 years! Come try it you won't be disappointed. 😋😋😋😋😋

Super cheap take out Chinese food in Phoenix. They are very generous with the quantity. I went there to experience ordering from a hole in the wall. I didn’t expect anything, so it was ok. You really need to know what to order to get good dish… I would recommend you to order their chicken wing and shrimp fried rice. I do not recommend you to order egg foo yong. It was very greasy and weird.

Horrible tasteless presentation sucks everything is in a styrofoam plate besides the white rice. I've never had a pre made egg fu young patty thats 1in thick and rectangular shape gravy was watery. the jalapeno chicken was gross chicken covered in chili flakes feathers all over the chicken big pieces of chicken just tasteless. I just donated money my kids didn't even want it!! I will be reporting this place!

First time trying this place. Don't believe The menu prices they have online, they are probably from ten years ago, the lunch price on the website shows $4.60 and in person it was like $7.99. The chicken chow main is good, but the soup has way too much hot sauce in it, tastes like hot sauce soup instead of hot and sour. The wait is long, good luck calling in, and definitely interesting clientele. They give you a lot of food.

By far the BEST Chinese restaurant in Phoenix. Yes you will wait a little bit while your order is being prepared l, unless you call a head. But we tried other Chinese restaurants and they ALL lack the onions, chives, peas, and sprouts in their rice. Wish it was a little bit more spicy but I can live with that to flavor....we got the pork fried rice and orange chicken 2👌👌🤚

Great food, great portions. Sketchy area though and price keeps increasing. But still best Chinese place been to in Phoenix and most comparable to east coast joints.

Called ahead so I didn't have to wait they said 15 mins I got there 25 mins later my food should have been ready but instead they said a few more minutes, it's was 15 more minutes after that. This place likes to add 85cents for everything 85 cents for sauce 85cents for using a debt card 85 cents for anything extra The service will kill this place. The time it takes for the food seems unorganized Even with calling ahead it took them a total of 45 minutes for me to get my food

From an IG Reel I discovered this Chinese fusion food place. I recently moved from the Pacific Northwest so I was hankering for some good Chinese food while I was exploring the area … be aware that the neighborhood and surrounding area is sketchy. This didn’t bother me one iota, but others reading this review *might*. I was hoping for a dine in option; there isn’t. One lone window is the service portal. My suggestion is to park nearby, as they issue you a worn, laminated order number that they announce once your order is ready. I rolled up on a busy afternoon but it seems to be the case all the time at popular, yummy places. I ordered the Y1 Chicken pieces and shrimp fried rice (sorry no photos, I was HANGRY) That was some of the best fried chicken I’ve consumed. The shrimp to fried rice ratio was great. I’ll definitely be back, and better prepared!

My favorite place to get spice chicken frid rice and great fried chicken!!! Love the customer service I get everytime I visit. I once seen the owner give a homeless man something to eat. Act of kindness!! These people are ol' school with a big heart.😊

I've had food from here twice now and both times I was very satisfied. The only downside about this place is that you place your order outside at the window and wait for your food outside so if it's hot outside the wait can be well......yeah. I got the egg foo young this time around and they definitely give you a decent amount!

VERY VERY GOOD! Just like NYC wing Best in Phoenix! I drove in from North Scottsdale to this place. I was a bit scepticle, it was a hole in the wall and it looked very shady. It has a window on the side of an ally like street. You order from there and wait (very long line). But my God was the food great!!! By far the best I have had in the area. The closest I have come to NYC style wings and food. Amazing authentic wonton soup by far the best I have had in Phoenix, felling very satisfied after, no greasy odd feelings after.

No dine in area. Garbage neighborhood. But very good authentic food. Worth the 15 minute drive for us to go there. Best Chinese I've found in the Phoenix area so far.

My cuz was showing me around and brought me to the infamous West Side Window. Better to call your order in, otherwise be prepared to wait. Parking is tricky. The food was prepared fresh and was hot.

I tried Liyuen on a whim as it was the highest rated Chinese food restaurant in the area I happened to be visiting, but I was so happy I did! The food was delicious. The noodles and chicken I got were both amazing. And to the top it off the price for the amount of food you receive is an excellent deal. The only criticism I have have is that it takes about 15-20min from the time you order to get your food. As far as I can tell it's take out only, and as you can see from the picture it's not much to look at from the outside either. It did seem like you could phone ahead and order before you arrive and I would suggest doing this if possible. Parking can also be tricky as it seemed to be street parking only. I highly recommend you give this to place a try if you have a chance.

People that are eating here obviously only care about how the food tastes not the quality….if you put enough seasoning and sugar on complete garbage I guess it could be profitable! this place is so dirty and they have no respect for customers from what I have heard. They charge whatever they want and include a tip themselves. Ridiculous that people are supporting people like this.

I've heard a lot of different opinions about Westside Window and decided to give it a try. The orange chicken was delicious, maybe the best I've had out here. The wings were great too. Not super impressed with the fried rice, but next time I'll know not to order it. Yes it's a bit of a wait, but it's so worth it. I'll be back.

Jalapeno wings are so good here. Everytime I go to the mountain this is a must stop. Chicken fried rice was delicious. The restaurant doesn't have much parking at all. Order from a window.

Great Chinese food, if you want good take out this is the place for you. You gonna order thru the window and it might take a while for your food because of the vast amount of people here. You can also call in your order. Definitely a great food spot. Jalapeño wings are my favorite. Almost forgot to take picture of the food cause I was waiting for a good minute for the food.

  • 5/5 Jack M. 1 year ago on Google
Speedy, considerate, smells good in the kitchen, they use real ingredients in their food and it's the best orange chicken I've had in phoenix so far. The aroma of the food is to die for. I can see why everyone is buzzing about this place.

  • 5/5 Stephanie N. 1 year ago on Google
It's a wait they are pretty popular. But so worth it. Your food is fresh and tasty. Jalapeños fried wings was the best!

So, the food is phenomenal and though the accents are heavy, and the wait is long, the customer service is friendly. The spot is not for the faint of heart though, especially at night. This is Phoenix and it LOOKS like a dive. If you are interested in appearances, theb steer clear BUT if that hole in the wall atmosphere doesn’t bother you and you love great food, friendly and diverse customers (I met so many cool people in line), and you don’t mind waiting a few extra minutes to get well worth the cost you paid then have your next Asian food experience at Liyuen. And ORDER AHEAD if you’re in a hurry! 😉

We've been here a couple times now, not a fancy place but the food has always been good. It's take out only of course. If you're in the mood for some good Chinese food, give it a try, it's worth it.

The food took more than an hour to be prepared and was quite expensive for basic food that was really greasy and overcooked. The pickup only place is not very organized; The order was called in and was said to be ready in 20-30 minutes. I arrived 45 minutes later and had to stand in line for another 15 minutes only to learn that the food was not ready. I had to wait another 20 minutes and was disappointed after one of the three chicken with fried rice orders was incorrect.

30+years living here never tried this place til recently 2022. The foods good. I'm picky when it comes to Asian food, the chicken wings were very delicious, lo-mein was good had pork. But like I said I'm very picky. It wasn't bad it was ok, food was fresh that's a plus, you order than they cook it for you. Best choice is order ahead. The menu on website is outdated. Call to ask for prices.

Oh my lord! Listen. This food is the entire BOMB! My daughter and I are from Florida and we are always complaining about the lack of good local Chinese food here - I mean, not everyone likes that horrible Panda nonsense... I Googled "Best Chinese Food in Phoenix" one day and it mapped me here. It's in a shady looking area, but when I got there the area was full of people ordering from this restaurant (take out window style). The wait is indeed long, but boy is the food worth it. I give this restaurant a 9.5 out of 10 and I rarely give out 5s.... Do yourself a favor and give it a try, no way you'll be disappointed.

Great food. Called ahead and waited per instruction 20 min, showed up, paid and had to wait an additional 25 min. Broccoli and beef And spicy or orange chicken are always my order both served with white rice. Be ready to wait.. And then ready for the food coma. 👌
