Looking for a quiet, family owned neighborhood restaurant with decades of making people feel at home with great food, great drink and an unassuming presence - well except for the wonderful white table clothes? Christo’s delivers.

This is "our place"! Someone's birthday? Going to Christo's. Someone got a raise? Going to Christo's! We come here again and again because the food is outstanding, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere cannot be beat for a family Italian restaurant. I'll always recommend this spot to anyone I meet.

This restaurant was great. Food was awesome, service was top notch. I took my wife for her Birthday. The waiter overheard us talking about her birthday and he brought out a dessert for her with a candle on it. Dinner came with a soup and salad. Borh were fantastic. The table bread was great, it went well with the soup. Main dish was so delicious. Definitely recommend giving this place a try. I ordered the Chicken Maria.

Love this place! Yes we piled the freshly grated cheese on top but it only added to the deliciousness that was already there. Not an Alfredo sauce fan but the waitress insisted that it was "the best Alfredo sauce in town" and she was right! Made me mad I hadn't ordered anything Alfredo, definitely have to go back. Also the limoncello cake was so good! I don't know what was sweater though, the cake or the waitress, she definitely took my fiend and I on a food journey. She was so friendly and truly loves the food she's serving.

We went here for the first time last week to celebrate a birthday and it was our first time there. We have driven past this restaurant hundreds of times saying that we really need to check this place out. We are so sorry that we have not experienced this restaurant sooner! It was spot on wonderful from beginning to end. We had Julie as our server who was fantastic and she made the experience a delight! The food was glorious and we can’t wait to come back! It became instantly one of our favorite restaurants!

Meh, nothing special. East coast has great Italian food but terrible Mexican food. Arizona has great Mexican food, but terrible Italian food. Their salmon tastes like cat food.

Food was fantastic, the atmosphere cozy & quite. Great service they are on it, you finish one course, directly they're cleaning up used dishes and follow up with next course and the next and next. You will leave full and happy and the prices are reasonable.

Great customer service and great food at this long time local Italian staple. I had Sausage Zingarella with peppers and mushrooms in marinara over pasta. I subbed the Marina for their Bolognese meat sauce.

Place is set up like a traditionally fancy Italian place. Very friendly & attentive staff. Wine selection was ok. What I had tasted a little grocery store is, table bread was nothing unique. Duck a'l'orange was half a duck...breast was delicious. Leg was pretty burnt creating a jerky-type texture. Vegetables seemed to be steamed...would have like a seasoned roast or a bit of season on them.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, authentic and tasty Italian food. Loved the professional waiters experience.... The Ciuppino was amazing, served over pasta vs just sauce... the Ceasar salad was tasty, using real anchovies. A must try.

High quality food, great service. Consistently good for the decade or more I have been going there. Prices are creeping up a bit but still one of the best values around. Ordered the veal piccata at the waiter’s recommendation that it was the best in town. He was not lying. It is how hard to describe how perfect the veal piccata was. Generous portion, cooked perfectly, juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor through the last bite. I have never had a bad meal at Christo’s, but I am not sure I will be able to order another dish again. The veal piccata comes with a side of vegetables, which were solid, and soup and salad. The tomato cream soup was freshly made and really good. The salad was good with a house made mustard vinaigrette. The waiter was old school and very friendly and provided excellent service along with the busboy. Really solid old school Italian joint even though I think the owners might be Greek.

Tried this for the first time at AZ Restaurant Week and I am so glad I did! Everything we had was delicious. Gnocci, lobster ravioli, lemon marscapone cake - all amazing! They even gave us the glasses of wine that were included with the special to go! Will definitely be going back!

Christo's was absolutely delicious, all meals came with bread, soup, and a salad. The service was also amazing and everyone was very kind and quick to get our food and clean up the plates for your next plate to come. Overall I definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking for delicious Italian food!

Went with three friends for lunch. This place feels like an "old school" New York place. Our waiter was old school as well...a little abrupt. The decor was very nice with cloth tablecloths and napkins. I had the Chicken Genoveseo but it only had a half artichoke and one mushroom cut into three slices...skimpy. However the lemon wine sauce was outstanding. I really enjoyed the large chunks of fresh cauliflower, broccoli and sliced fresh carrots.

I’ve been going to Christo’s for many years but something has happened to this restaurant, over the last two maybe three years it’s gone downhill big-time the food is not as good as it once was makes me very sad. I will find another restaurant.

Wow! So impressed with this place. Ate lunch here today, and was treated to semi-fine dining at casual dining prices. I am gluten free, and the chef modified the sauce on the chicken limone for me. It was nothing short of amazing, vegetables perfect and delicious, and even a beautiful salad. On a linen table cloth, with delightful and professional service. For twelve bucks. Can't beat it. Thank you so much!!

This is a family-owned and operated restaurant that satisfies your appetite. Dinner with a visiting friend from our-of-town was an enjoyable, and very satisfying evening. Soup AND salad included for starters. Delicious fresh fish with crunchy vegetables for entrees. Desserts were top-of-the-line as well. Professional service. Well worth the effort to find this establishment. Enjoy your meal!

I had an opportunity to eat at Christo's with some friends the other day. This was my first visit to Christo's and was looking forward to it. But after arriving I was turned away because I was wearing a tank top shirt. After being turned away I took the liberty to review their website again and I found nothing on their website about a dress code. I have no idea if their food is great or awful seeing how I was not allowed to order any food. Needless to say I will never go back. If you're running a restaurant or business of any kind and should there be a dress code it needs to be clearly addressed at the top of your homepage on your website and elsewhere. Therefore potential guests will be aware of this before they arrive. This way you'll save yourselves from receiving a bad review on Google and elsewhere.

This was our first trip to Christo’s. It will not be the last. Excellent service and food. Santorri was our waiter and he had it down pat. We started with a hot antipasto with shrimp scampi, crab stuffed mushroom, veal and spinach stuffed zucchini. The calamari was also delicious. We all loved the veal braciole with rigatoni. Fine wine and yummy deserts, tiramisu and lemon mascarpone layer cake topped off the evening.

I would recommend Christo's to anyone and everyone who has a chance to spend a night in the Phoenix area and would like a nice dinner served in an intimate setting. The service is always impeccable. My husband and I went here for our first dinner out after our wedding since we were unable to take a honeymoon due to COVID. I mentioned that in our online reservation and they went above and beyond to make our night feel special and celebrated. Our server, Kelsey, was incredibly attentive and personable. Her attention to detail and recommendations were very appreciated especially on dessert. The manager even came over and spent a good chunk of time asking us about our wedding and making us feel so welcome. He even gave us a beautiful wine recommendation that wasn't listed on the wine list and it was lovely. I would suggest that anyone who appreciates good atmosphere, great food, and better customer service, go to Christo's!

Food was mediocre for the cost. Service was awful. Forgotten food and drinks. Told the waitress I couldn’t have the soup because I’m vegetarian and when the server came with the soup I repeated it and he just left it on the table and told someone else to eat it. Once the waitress realized they forgot one of our dishes (family member ordered the same thing as me), it came out 10 mins after the rest of the food with poor presentation and missing ingredients on top. Would not recommend unless price point drops dramatically.

Celebrated my birthday dinner here in April. This place has been on my bucket list for awhile now. Heard only good things and they're all spot on. The food was wonderful. Our server, Salvatore or Santino, has been there over 20 years and his service was impeccable. Had to get used to the lighting but that's about it. The entire dining experience was flawless. Their Escargot Bourgogne is tied for the best I've ever had. I am so coming back as often as I can! If you haven't been here yet, put it on your list. I promise you won't regret it!

Very nice restaurant. Loved that the meals come with soup and salad it really makes the price reasonable. The lemon rice soup was fantastic. The Mussel appetizers was enough for 2-3 people. The bread was perfect too. Try not to fill up on bread. I had the Duck. It was good I just wish the skin had been crisp. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

I was trying to think of a place downtown, that was quaint, maybe romantic, and somewhat quiet. Then I remembered driving past Christo's on 7th Street for the last few decades, always thinking, "I should try that someday". It was everything I'd hoped for. The food was great, fairly reasonably priced. A great soup and a modest salad with every entree, decently priced wine. Delicious dessert and a good cup of coffee. Made a last minute reservation on opentable and was in easy at 5:15. All in all a wonderful experience with my wife. We will be back often.

The food was really good, we were sat super fast by a very friendly hostess, buuut... our server John kinda ruined the experience. Bad day? IDK. He wasn't present, no suggestions, no help with menu or anything. Just said, "It's restaurant week. Here are our specials." We wanted to order off the regular menu, as it was my first time there (my girlfriend had been there on her own before and raved about owner and service). He then just dropped the menus and was gone. I did overhear him explaining entrees to adjacent tables, so I know he can do it, just not for us. It took me a bit to figure out what I wanted. Not once did he ask if he could help us with anything. It's not like he brought food or cleared plates ( the SA with the curly hair was great, super helpful, and nice). John just put a damper on the whole experience, and we left feeling underwhelmed. All in all, we might try it again, but definitely with another server.

This was a new to me restaurant, just what I like. Gigi and I were in Phoenix for a doctor's appointment and our friend suggested Christo's for lunch. Sorry, I forgot to photograph my Chicken Saltimbocca, it was yummy. Gigi gave her Gnocchi high marks as well. The staff and service was so attentive, I actually felt over served. My iced tea glass was always full and our waitress returned several times. We will go out of our way to dine at Christo's.

I had a veal dish with a side of pasta. My husband had sausage and peppers with mushrooms over pasta. Soup and salad came with the entree. We had to take home half of the entree because we were so full. We both really enjoyed our food and the service was excellent. They refilled out water without asking and they brought a basket of bread out right away. We plan to return soon to try other dishes. It reminded me of an old fashioned Italian restaurant which we love that style. We actually could have a conversation here instead of going to a noisy restaurant with really loud music and noise bouncing off the ceiling and floors. It was very refreshing to actually dine.

Calamari appetizer and soup were our favorite. Salad was good, but dressing was a little odd for me with mustard in it. I am a Veal fan. The Veal was amazing but the overall flavor of the Veal Parm was a little bland. We really like the atmosphere. It was elegant but had that Cheers feel. Service was 5 star. We will go back.

We had a lovely dinner here last night. Service was top notch and the food was phenomenal. I ordered the duck from the nightly special menu and it was delicious with a very generous portion of duck. If I had one suggestion for this meal, it would be an option for a plate that has the option to have 1/2 of the duck in the green peppercorn sauce and 1/2 with the orange sauce. I would have loved to have tried them both.

  • 3/5 Brenna A. 3 months ago on Google New
Went here last night for our anniversary and it was underwhelming and disappointing. The bread was dry (to the point my husband started choking) and they provide you with cold, hard better that isn’t actually spreadable. The “Cesar salad” was made with a yellow, seemingly-mustard based dressing. For an additional $6 (versus the included house salad) I thought it would be really good but it was disappointing. After the soup and salad, we waited about 20-30 minutes for our appetizer, which felt a little long. We were then surprised to have our food come out. We wanted to inform our server, but he literally didn’t stop by our table for another 30 minutes. When we told him we never got our appetizer (at this point full from our meal) he made no apologies and asked if we wanted fries mozzarella packed to go, to which we said no because that is definitely a dish you’d want to eat fresh. Again, no apologies. He then boxed our meals and left 75% of the remaining aldredo sauce on the plate so I now have dry manicotti leftovers. Overall, very disappointed, especially as it really dampened our anniversary date night. We would maybe try it again (if we got a different server) but with it being about an hour from our home, I don’t think it will be worth the risk for us to visit again.
