Lovely restaurant. Food was delicious. My husbands burger patty cooked to wrong temperature. My Ahi Tacos were very good & spicy! Servers seemed to work as a team...nice!

Fantastic food (Thai chicken bowl, Vegan curry bowl and Mac and cheese were all so good) and great lighting and decor. Most of all, there was a teeny kitten abandoned in the parking lot, all bones with no mom in sight for a week. These wonderful servers looked after her and, when after we coaxed her to us with chicken, they took her home- saving her from a week of scalding pavement and 118 degree temps. What amazing people!!!

The vibe in this place was chill. Definitely a cool spot to grab some drinks and a bite. I came with my wife on a Friday night around 5 pm. It wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. We ordered the ceviche for an appetizer and the pork and jerk chicken. I felt like my pork was overloaded with pineapple, so I didn't enjoy it that much (my personal tatse). My wife loved the jerk chicken and the ceviche was solid. Service was fast and good. I would come back to try something different, just wasn't blown away with my dish.

Looking for someplace different to celebrate my son’s birthday. Glad we found this place! Yummy food, great service, great drinks and extremely reasonable prices! Can’t wait to go back and try the dinner menu!

I've never seen a business try to turn away money as much as this place does. There is always some BS excuse for limited menu's - wont do take out orders until 3 pm on Saturday, etc etc. It's Covid-Era - Adapt or die -you're choosing to fail as a business. This is not a one-off event. This is now the THIRD time in the last few months you have turned away a $80+ order that takes ZERO EFFORT on your end. Unreal.

I enjoy this place and their cocktails very much. They do a great happy hour daily! If you are a tiki drink fan and are looking for the place, this is the spot. They have signature cocktails and some good beers on tap, their food is delicious, and if you are thinking of a tiki drink you don’t see on their menu, ask and chances are they can make it.

Enjoyed the food and drink at this spot a few days ago. The atmosphere was welcoming and service was great I had the jerk pulled chicken and my girlfriend had the ribs, both great choices! I will definitely be back yo try their other selections!

Super trendy spot for tiki bar-themed cocktails and Hawaiian bites. Loved the patio seating and our Blood Orange Martini and Bloody Mary. They were both well-mixed and tasty (not heavy alcohol flavor as I am sensitive to this). The Luau Pork Hilo Sliders were the best!! We also enjoyed the sweet potato fries and pork stuffed potstickers. The Habanero Lime Chicken Taco was good, but nothing to seek out. Friendly and attentive service on a Sunday afternoon. Will definitely be back to try more of their delicious cocktails and other dishes.

Came in with coworkers for a nice lunch and what an awesome spot with great food! We were seated right away and were able to order our food. Not long after we ordered the food had arrived and we were all satisfied! This place has bowls, burgers, salads, special dishes, etc. Highly recommend this place for food/drinks!

Great place! Food is a little bit spicy for my liking but still so so good. Highly recommend the sweet potato fries with their specialty dip! The outdoor seating is very nice for a private dinner. The fire place was so cozy as well.

The Hawaiian ceviche is a must try. The Mongolian beef bowl was good, along with the drinks. They have specials every day, including the weekend.

The Tiki Room inside Hulas makes you feel like you're in a beautiful Hut in the islands. The Polynesian decor was gorgeous. The food was even more amazing! I had the Kalbi ribs with plaintains and it was delicious. Highly recommend for great Polynesian vibes and food.

Went when the pandemic was coming to a close. Couldn’t sit at the bar. Service was a bit slow but understandingly so. The food was pretty good. And the drinks were excellent, as well. Perfect location!

1st time in and it will hopefully not be my last. Visiting from out of town, at the mercy of good friends and their favorites, Hula's proved fantastic. We arrived during happy hour, immediately settled into two Tropical Itch cocktails, ceviche and the coconut shrimp. It was all perfect: light and delicious, perfect for a Phoenix evening. The staff was on pace and professional... It was as excellent as I had been led to believe. Highly recommended.

Excellent atmosphere and friendly service plus good food. Loved the patio on a rare monsoon cool evening. Ill be back for more than just apps and drinks again!

5 stars for vibe and service, but I didn't care for my meal. Tried the Hapu fish, but it's too mushy. Didn't care for the jerk sauce, just my preference. Loved the Johnny Cakes! Can't wait to come back and try the ribs. And the cocktail menu looks delicious!

Had the seafood taco dish; 1 fish and 1 shrimp. The fish taco was good but the shrimp one was burnt and I didn’t eat it past the first bit. The sauce was nothing special. I suggest adding a little mango or pineapple to it. The manager was understanding and took it off our bill.

Great food and service. The coconut cream pie was amazing, so good that I missed taking a picture of it. Highly recommend. Also the Dr Funk is great when you want a fruity drink, but it sneaks up on you.

We decided to have a few drinks next door at captains cabin before dining. Both venues were delicious. I was surprised how well the bartender kept up in the cabin. Lots of drink orders, seems like a non stop job.

Great place, good Tiki decor, plenty of parking. We didn't sit outside because it was 110 degrees but the patio looks nice. The food was great, had the impossible burger with blue cheese. Delicious. Service was very friendly and very fast. Good value too.

Stopped by Hula’s Modern Tiki for lunch and it was so good! The impossible burger was delicious. The fries were only ok (a bit under-done) but service was super fast, professional and friendly. Would have loved to try a tiki cocktail but had to go for a hike later in the day and thought I better not get rum-drunk. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

I took my mom to Hula’s for happy hour because we both wanted to try something new and we were not left disappointed. The drinks were delicious and the small bites were great, we got the steak skewers, the fish bites and the ceviche and they were all great! The happy hour price was also really great! Would definitely recommend:)

Great deal on happy hour! KC was so attentive to our service. She was smiling and very friendly. Mai tais only $7 on happy hour. The fish cakes were good got 3 of them for $7. Tasty Samurai beef sticks. ( 3 of them ) with steak pieces and pineapples and onions for $7. The painkiller with dark rum float was creamy and the best. Really recommend their happy hour!

Great little restaurant. Not usually a crazy wait, the drinks are all good though some of them can definitely be too sweet. They have outdoor seating you can bring your dog too but the flies tend to be a little crazy so I think the dumpster is near the end of the outdoor seating. Happy hour here is fantastic, we usually make sure we go there and get some meat sticks with a couple drinks, it doesn't sound like a lot but they give you 3 heavily filled kebabs. Definitely recommend the place and service has been great the times we've gone.

Was not super impressed with the food. However, we only had appetizers, and it was later in the evening. I will say their ceviche was pretty good. It's not prepared the traditional way, but I really enjoyed it. Great flavor. Our bartender/server was awesome. She did a great job! This place has a great ambiance. I will go again and order an entrée. ❤️

  • 3/5 Nick O. 4 months ago on Google
It was a nice clean place. Overall I wasn't impressed. The least Tiki feeling place I've been. Drinks were good, but not amazing by any means. Mostly a chill bar. The service was slow and location is kind of random. Nothing really bad to say, aside from those. The outside layout didn't seem to maximize the fire available. Didn't try the food. Maybe that's a good pull here.

We were visiting from San Diego and our local friends Curtis & Paul invited us out here. When we arrived there was a good crowd at both the bar and the tables with just one lady waiting in front of us. I ended up ordering their signature Mai Tai which, considering I don’t normally drink rum, was absolutely delicious. For food we ordered their coconut shrimp rolls with a horseradish pineapple sauce along with the Hawaiian Pork Sandwich. The rolls were perfectly cooked and the sauce was to die for. The pork in the sandwich was a delightful blend of sweet and savory with an ample dollop of coleslaw. For dessert we had their coconut cream cake which was a good balance of textures and flavors. Good atmosphere, fast service and reasonable prices. Quite happy we came here!

Sunday Funday is perfect at Hula's! Happy hour 10am-6pm Sundays. Signature drinks are only $6! Their food is delicious. We got the beef skewers from appetizers and they were so good and filling. Nice Tiki theme decor all over. Friendly staff.??

It had been a good five or six years since I had been to Hula's, so this was my first time at their new uptown location. I met friends who were visiting from out of town for drinks and dinner. It was quite loud in the dining room, likely because it was a busy Friday night. Thankfully, the patio was available and super pleasant. The food and drinks were as delicious as I had remembered. I'll definitely be back!

Have gotten takeout many times, usually the pork sandwich which I have really liked. This time I got the chicken tacos and was very disappointed. The chicken was mushy and the black bean portion size was very small and it was served with plain white rice. Taste was just okay. When I picked it up was also very concerned to see that the employees were not wearing masks or gloves, and when I asked about it, their cavalier attitude was even more of a concern... Enjoyed the key lime pie, but don't think I will be ordering from them again, pandemic or not.

  • 4/5 Jim D. 3 years ago on Google
Although the atmosphere is less tiki than I was expecting, it's still a really nice place. The service was great and the food was AWESOME! We were there during brunch, which is a partial menu that ends at 2:30pm, and tried several items. The attached pictures show the items we tried. Try it out. This location is at 7th St and Camelback which has to be close to your home.?

Atmosphere was good, service... not so much... our server all but ignored us. I don't go out much, maybe once every few months, even without COVID-19 going on and I expected a bit more. I had to go find her to get more tea andI got it and wasn't even offered sugar. There was 2 of us and we got 2 packets... i get it, businesses are struggling, but is it too much to ask for a little sugar... people even being able to go out and support local businesses is a big deal as we are all struggling. I just wanted to feel somewhat normal in a very abnormal time and got ignored and felt even more frustrated. Good thing I cook at home!
