Amazing play structures! The huge animal sculptures are open on the inside and climbable. They fit up to an average 12 year old. The park has a water play area that is turned on in the summer. The climbing walls and massive spider net are a great addition. Bathrooms are available and a huge open dog park area as well. Lovely park with great amenities.

Absolutely Love The Playground Remodel!! Took My Kids And They Had So Much Fun Climbing On The New Structures & Challenging Themselves On The Rock Wall. Margaret T. Hance Park Has Always Been A Family Favorite & Will Continue To Be For Many More Years. Well Done!!

Nice little park just beside the Japanese garden. This is a recently upgraded play area which has a lot of fun things for the kids. Make sure you go in groups as the place tend to be visited by homeless folks. It has a water fountain show too.

Recently upgraded. Has a new playground for children. It features a mini rock climbing wall and splash pad. With lots of near by benches for parents to keep an eye on their little ones. This park is long and narrow, it sits above the i-10 tunnel. And Burton Barr central library is within walking distance. Rising above it is Central avenue bridge, the light rail travels over it, an interesting sight to see if you admire trains. There are stairs and ramps that join central avenue. You can reach the Japanese friendship garden from here and the Irish cultural center. Within walking distance is fair trade cafe where you can grab an ice cold drink or a hot coffee.

Love, LOVE, LOVE this place. Words do it zero justice. Have to see it for yourself! It does have a misting pad. I would not say “splash-pad”, but it takes the edge of the heat off for sure.

Such a beautiful area! I love the wide open space with beautiful views of sky, grass, gardens and the city. The oath outdid is one of the cutest with the animal structures. The downside is that the bathrooms are dirty from homeless bathing and hanging in there.

Great park! Playground is awesome! The only issue I saw was too many stairs making it less friendly for wheel chairs and strollers, it would be better if they added ramps next to the stairs to make it more accessible.

Do not use the restrooms! find some where else for that business. Park it self well kept and clean. Right off the highway, nice place to stretch and take a walk. Several eateries right down the street. Nice play ground for the kids.

Most spectacular and engaging space, and a feast for your eyes and imagination. Absolute harmony in bringing the most from the natural landscape and native plants and integrating advance recycling tech. Japanese Garden nearby definitely pales in comparison (unfortunately).

The improvements, although their not complete, are beautiful. The park renovation was well needed- Long overdue. I'm sure the new look meet the standards of the parks new posh neighbors.

Amazing park with ample play areas for younger and older kids as well as good amounts of grassy area to walk or enjoy your lunch. There is a really nice sand area for little ones that is well separated from the rest so they can play without getting hurt and several animal shaped play structures. The climbing area and nature slide are my favorite part.

Very beautiful space for outdoor music concerts and other public events. Backdrop of lit sculpture makes the space quite an attraction. Must be a place to hang out when weather is warmer, but even in cold weather is a sight to see.

Its hard to get to the play area with a stroller. However, bring sandbox toys and your little one will enjoy the fine white sand play area that's covered. The splash pad is a perfect mister pad for toddlers.

We enjoyed the NFL Superbowl Experience 2023 Official Watch Party. There was plenty to do and to eat. The people working were nice and helpful. All were welcomed. It was crowded. It would have been nice to have separate areas for people with chairs and blankets and people standing. Overall, good experience.

Neat little park north of downtown. I moved close to it's location and finally decided to check it out. I took my little miniature pinscher for a walk here. There wasn't a lot of foot traffic in the morning of my visit. That was nice since my doggo can be feisty around other dogs. There's an underpass that conveniently leads to the dog parks across the street. I definitely recommend checking out the park for those that haven't been to it.

So I’m deducting a star because I couldn’t send my kids to the bathroom because it’s by the parking lot and you can’t even see the bathroom through the trees that surround the playground plus there were homeless people by them so it didn’t feel safe. The park itself was great, it had a big sandbox (see 1st pic) and really cool playground equipment but after an hour we had to leave because some homeless people were yelling and came into the play area and we didn’t feel safe. When we walked back to the car there was a man behind us and another one who was angry about something and yelling in the parking lot so I’m deducting another star because we didn’t feel safe. I don’t know if I’d come back here 😭 Ps… It would’ve also been nice to have picnic tables so that we could eat at a table while watching the kids play. There were only benches in the play are, picnic tables are behind the trees

This was a great spot to attend the Vegan Festival! It was spacious and the way everything was set up with the vendors, the music and the vegan food trucks was great! We had a wonderful family time and enjoyed the Vegan Festival at this park!

Cute little park! That's all it is though, very straightforward. Like an oversized backyard ?‍♀️. Quiet, peaceful and fairly well kept. We had a pleasant afternoon here.

  • 3/5 Kristen C. 4 years ago on Google
Great park with area to walk and run. The main problem is the homeless population. They don't seem dangerous but the play areas and water features are not functioning due to problems related. In fact when we were walking through the park volunteers were there handing out lunch which would lead one to believe it is an ongoing issue. Great design and things to offer, hopefully it can be fully functional in the future.

This park has amazing features and potential. Great events at this park. The library is huge with tons of staff and things to do. Only issue is the homeless population. The mental health and the substance abuse on this property is huge. Be safe heading to this park at all hours.

I personally love this park. The architecture of the Burton Barr Library extends around the park and creates an atmosphere that is totally unique. The Arches underneath the roads, The Fountains, though I wish they were full more often. A lot of skaters, a lot of homeless people, but they don't bother me. I really kind of dig the chill Community atmosphere around the library, nice grass, usually pretty clean, makes a great event venue. Highly recommend. Five stars

Pizza fest! The lines were the only thing I didn’t enjoy. You had to wait 30mins to buy pizza that you’re unsure about. I was only able to try two pizza places because of the wait time. Everything else was great. The park was clean. There was live music. My mother even got a free massage. They even had face paint and a bounce house for children. Hopefully there will be another Pizza Fest.

Seeing the Native Nation theater work here from ASU Gammage was incredible, immersive and interconnected with past, present and future. I loved walking the wheel with everyone, thank you to the indigenous communities that welcomed us into their circle. This park was the perfect center location. There is also a great slide one can use as a recliner so you can watch the clouds and stars.

  • 4/5 James M. 3 years ago on Google
Huge homeless population here. For the most part they stay to themselves and don't bug you. Park is under construction right now so only a small fraction of it is usable. From the plans and drawing they have out at the construction site, the new updates they are making look amazing. Can't wait until it opens.

I only got pictures of some of the sculptures that are different inside, but it's easily a kid's parkour dream. Lots of different ropes courses, a large sandbox with white sand, a rock climbing wall, and splash pad that's open 8am to 8 pm. An owl sculpture with a slide. Mainly for age groups 5 to 10. But the were little swings my toddler liked as well and some things he could climb with supervision.

I tool an evening walk at this park. The park offers a really nice children's section, but a larger part of the walking trail is under construction. Unfortunately the restrooms are not recommended for public use, the heavy scent of urine and urine buildup in the latrines was scary. Restroom use not recommended. The areas of the park that are opened were clean and landscapes well kept. There are also lots of lighted areas and security cameras in the area. I recommend for family walks and family fun times with the children and also for walking your pets.

Placing deterrents on ledges that have made Deck Park a nationwide iconic BMX/Skate spot for at least 20 years is an embarrassment and sheds light on the disconnect city officials have with the community.

Lovely oasis in downtown. It hosts events that are small enough to be reasonable yet have a big time feel. Parking is adequate and mostly free. Good time.

It’s a beautiful park, but I give it 3 stars cause the restrooms need to be cleaned & checked. Why was there a bra on the trash can, why was there clothes on top of each stalls. I was so scared to use it cause it looked like a horror movie. I legit left fast cause I don’t know who is in there and also a homeless guy in front of the bathroom where he could easily come in. This is not a safe place to use the restroom cause anything could happen to you and no one will know. It needs to be cleaned and checked
