Do not waste your money!! The photos online are very misleading. This is NOT a 4 star hotel!!! This is a MOTEL disguised as a hotel. Our room was in need of a serious deep cleaning. The pool area was very run down and does not look like the photos online. Our room keys weren’t working and we stood at the front lobby desk for 20 minutes before someone who worked there was found. I have stayed in nicer motels for way cheaper than this “4 star hotel” was. Rooftop bar wasn’t open during our entire stay.

Avoid this place like the plague. My wife and I travelled to PHX on business, and chose this hotel based in part on its location, and because it sounded like it might be a cool place, and we figured we would have a better stay than at one of the big chains. We couldn't have been more wrong in our decision. This is an older property that seems to have undergone a partial remodel, but this place is a mess. There wasn't hot water for our entire stay. They insisted this was some new thing due to an "upgraded" hot water system that would be fixed shortly, but over five days they didn't address it. One of the owners outright lied to me about the situation. The rooms are very dated, and the carpet is stained. Broken blinds, ripped shades, falling down shower rods, peeling paint, and scratched furniture round out the bad decor. We were moved out of our first room because the air conditioning made a horrible squeaking sound. Our room didn't have a smoke detector, which was brought to the front desk manager's attention twice, but was never addressed. I was told pool cabanas were available for the weekend when I checked in, told they weren't available when I tried to reserve one, and then told they were available again when I spoke with a manager. Very frustrating when trying to make plans. There's NO housekeeping during your stay. We asked for basic housekeeping after three nights - just make the bed and change the towels. Two different desk clerks confirmed with us that housekeeping would visit our room, but they didn't. Some of the staff were very pleasant. Some of them were just plain rude. I tried to address my issues with the front desk manager, with whom I spoke on a couple different occasions, and I also spoke to one of the owners. They gave good lip service, but not much else. Stay someplace else.

Definitely NOT a four-star as advertised. The room was dark with one small window, the faucet in the bathroom leaked and was difficult to use. When we went to eat outside the heater next to our table was broken and unusable. Yes, we did have a cannabis-free room, however, this did not mean we could not smell it during our stay--pleasant perhaps for some, just not for us. On the bright side, the staff was very friendly and helpful, eager to oblige. Also, the food at the restaurant was good and the ambiance lovely.

The hotel from the outside appeared nice. Once inside, the walls were a dark gray with concrete texture and poorly lit.. It was next to impossible to use the bathroom mirror to apply any makeup because it was so dark. The blinds in the room were a foot too short. Pedestrians in the alley could clearly see one of the beds. The atmosphere was that of a dirty college dorm. The room was not cheap. Plenty of other hotels in that area. Don't waste your money on this one. The staff did waive my parking fee.

What a fantastic gem of a hotel! I've had the pleasure of attending the Cannafriends events here twice, and I must say, this place is truly remarkable. While it might not boast a 5-star rating, its unique charms are undeniable. The front desk staff consistently display their helpfulness and accommodation. Despite the rooms showing their age to some extent, they maintain a comfortable standard. The pool area truly comes alive at night, radiating an enchanting ambiance. The presence of a stylish bar is an added bonus, with reasonable prices to boot. All in all, it's a chic and trendy destination, tailored to those who appreciate its 420-friendly atmosphere. A definite must-visit!

There’s a certain charm to this hotel and the management and staff are quite friendly. Great pool. However, the carpets throughout the property are filthy and stained. The shampoo, conditioner and shower wash bottles in the bathroom had never been wiped down. The tub was dated and the linens had black stains. My guestroom had a broken lamp with the partial view of a brick wall. The on site restaurant and spa prices are double. For example, chips and guacamole is $12 and a 1 hr massage will set you back $125! The breakfast was entirely misrepresented at check in. Thinking it was a buffet I was excited. Only to find out it was a take away tiny breakfast burrito. Vegetarian or pork. Sadly no vegan option. Overall while customer service is great, it seems the hotel tried to modernize and charge prices to fit. However, this place misses the mark completely.

If you haven't yet done so give this boutique hotel a stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable and modern, there's a great restaurant and spa on site, and the pool and hot tub are great to use after a hot day in Phoenix. The hotel is tucked into a quiet spot off the main roads, but is close to a number of local shops and restaurants if you're in the mood to poke around. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and can answer almost any question you have about the area. Highly recommended! Oh, and don't forget to ask for the free breakfast burritos in the morning!

Three stars only because the staff was AWESOME! Genuinely friendly and helpful, transparent with fees. Restaurant had great staff and food. The rooms however… the definition of the phrase lipstick on a pig. I can see where the idea was for modern decor and it’s done with good taste buuut there are major repairs needed. The bathrooms are gross, mold and peeling paint in the shower, faucets loose, missing lamp hardware, chipping paint, dirty carpets. Pool was at one point really cool looking but the whole area needs a deep clean. Definitely disappointed, but thankful for the super nice staff.

Overall not the best place but also not the worst. The shower faucet broke off while I was trying to take a shower. Just decided to clean myself with the water running with no shower. Room had a little bit of an old musty smell. Towel in the bathroom was really rough and had a weird brown stain on it. AC took a while to get the room cool, but it did do the job overall. The style of the place is really upbeat and cool. Lots of cool artwork and color around. The rooms were really quiet and the bed and pillows were really soft and comfy.

This is a really nice hotel. I rate it 4 stars because it's advertised as a spa but when we stayed the spa was closed which was disappointing. The pool area is awesome and has a large hot tub to fit 20+ adults. The Fuego restaurant was absolutely delicious, and had some amazing drinks, but was on the pricier side. The bedroom was very basic. The beds were extremely comfortable memory foam mattresses and pillows. But the walls were painted black and there was just not enough lighting in the room. Overall I'd stay again.

Four star rating might throw people off a bit. The actual structure, and age of the rooms are probably not what you would expect for a four star. I’ll admit, the place could use a handyman. But everything else more than makes up for whatever is lacking in the physical aspect. The front attendants, five stars. The breakfast burritos and the snacks, five stars. The restaurant, bar staff, and food, five stars. The pool was great, and offered both intense sun, as well as a place to cool off in the shade. Thank you Clarendon.

Our experience was a miss all around. The bathroom faucet had the worst water saving cartridge ever. The rooms are nothing like the photos. We had to change rooms after the air conditioner sounded like it was going come off the wall. The parking lot for the hotel was well lit but dirty. This remodel is putting lipstick on the pig and doesn’t appear to be quality work. Missing outlets, water leak, old single pane windows, water damage in hallway ceiling and 4th floor hallway had an awful odor… I can keep going but I won’t. Great restaurant though.

This hotel was shockingly nice. The beds and bedding were really comfortable and it has a great pool with a large hot tub. The in-hotel restaurant was expensive, but delicious (plus those staying in the hotel get a discount.) Not only is there free breakfast included, but there is a beverage cart and snack which are free and available 24/7. The staff are very kind and helpful.

Marijuana rooms available! The staff here were amazing. I only stayed a day, but would have stayed longer. Biggest complaint was the pool and jacuzzi was very cloudy and you could not see the drain, which is a health and safety hazard, and it was open, prepared to host a weekend of special event pool parties. I sought a hotel with a jacuzzi so I didn't get to enjoy part of the main thing I got the room for. I did get to enjoy smoking my medication and not worrying about extra charges or masking the smell. There is a bistro pub on site that I heard live music playing but they had to close at ten before I was ready to barely start the night. The room I had was a two room setup with a sitting area: large coffee table of sorts, mini fridge, TV with a good amount of channels, and a futon. My room was a cannabis room so there was a nice book about cannabis in there as well. The art was authentic instead of what felt like mass productions. The room was very clean, the bathtub had a single long hair left in it. They did not supply a hand towel or bar soap. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were in dispensers, the shampoo one was broken. I would note here with a coconut allergy it would be important to be able to know the ingredients of the items but they were locked in. The bed, oh man it was so soft and plush and dreamy. I was a little shocked there was no top sheet, only the light duvet. All in all, I would definitely return here if I needed a decent place to smoke and chill.

Overall really great experience. My husband and I came here for a little staycation for our 6 year wedding anniversary. A few flaws/negatives: there are no ice machines, you have to walk to the lobby and ask for more every time you need more. When you are on the 3rd floor on the opposite side of the property, this can be quite inconvenient. However we got in our steps, it is what it is. The sink in our Cannasuite took FOREVER to drain. The shower/tub in the bathroom was noticeably worn and used, so we decided to soak in the pool a bit more, and hold off on a shower until we got home. The hotel advertised a rooftop bar and lounge, while we did have access to the lounge, the bar was not open. So anytime we needed a refill it was back down to the room or lobby each time. As with any hotel it was easy to find flaws, however the pros in my opinion far out way the flaws found. Pros: They have a live DJ every night from 6pm-Midnight. Lots of fun led lights and floats. The vibe was super chill the WHOLE time, no fights or stupid drunk people. Pool was perfect temp and the hot tub was HUGE and very relaxing! The Elevations lounger was a super chill vibe. Me and my husband were able to escape a way from the crowd, play some old school classic games and just enjoy laughing, a lot! The Fuego restaurant had amazing plat options. Have to say their empanadas for hands down one of the BEST! We tried many different cocktails and not a single one disappointed, especially their Hawaiian mimosa! If we were to stay here again I would definitely want to check out the themes/vibes of their other canna rooms. Highly recommend for couples or groups of friends looking to get away for the weekend, relax and party! Would be cool to see them turn the pool area into a bonfire vibe during the winter months! Overall Great Experience!

If brand new hotels are your thing this isn't the place for you but if you like great location, no kids, fantastic value and a cannabis friendly hotel this is your spot. The service was good but the guy that took over the desk the next morning was much more informative and we would have known about the free snacks and what was for breakfast before our stay was over had our reception person provided the same level of information as he did. I would stay here again just for it being child free and not hearing kids run around all night. Great value for the price.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights the week after the Super Bowl. Hotel was quiet. Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Jacuzzi was really roomy and toasty. Sat outside on a Friday evening at their restaurant and listened to a great band on the patio and had great service from our waiter. I enjoyed the location of the hotel if you plan to drive/Uber to places, otherwise there isn’t much to walk to other than a grocery store (that has a great coffee shop). The gym is small but has everything you need in there. Overall we really enjoyed staying here and Phoenix in general.

If your ever in Phoenix, Arizona you have to stop by the Clarendon Hotel. This hotel is not only a great place for couples to relax and vibe but for also solo and family stays as well. The rooms are spacious, updated and very clean. My stay over the weekend was incredible as they have gatherings in the weekends such as pool party’s, yoga on the rooftop or other activities. The Clarendon Hotel is also thee only hotel that is Cannabis Friendly in Phoenix. They have dedicated rooms for your smoking endeavors as well as a smoking lounge on the first level by the restaurant. The Clarendon Hotel is also near downtown Phoenix close to restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. Next time your in town whether it be for a vacation, business, pleasure, or even a staycation stop by the Clarendon Hotel.

We got stuck in Phoenix for 5 days in the Southwest fiasco and this hotel had the right price and the perfect large hot tub and pool to help us chill out after our flight would get cancelled every day. The rooms are a little sparse, but very clean and you can ask for anything you need. The staff was so kind and helpful and gave us all the toiletries and other necessities we needed since we had nothing with us. Unfortunately, the attached restaurant was closed because of the holiday but it looked really cute and there was a dispensary attached which was also convenient.

Wow amazing place the vibe is so relaxing and nice especially at night when they have the multi colored lights flashing everywhere at a dim exposure. Spotless super clean can easily see which rooms are occupied and which are empty very quiet honestly this is the hotel for anyone born in the 2000's that's for sure, 5 star rating from me no doubt will definitely be checking out a room with them again the next time I have a opportunity too 😉.

I needed a room to stay for one night, and all I can say is this hotel may as well been a 5 star! The rooms were impeccably clean as well as nice. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and were extremely friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were beautiful and inside the courtyard so never had to leave the property. I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience, but if I could, I would give them 10 stars!!!!

The staff is great. We were told we were upgrade from. 2 bed with a view … our room was a one bed no view. 2 beds as planned would have been preferred. Roof top not open. Bummer. Carpets came apart in our room. No hot water but okay with warm. Check out was set for 11am and house keeping was vacuuming next door & in hall and knocking to wake us once at 8:30am and again at 9:30 am and 10:00am We finally got up from the comfy bed enjoying a show and got the heck out. Front desk is great and I can see the potential in this place. I’d come back if I absolutely needed a place to crash for one night.

I didn't post on 420. But let me tell you my experience at the Cannabis Room at The Clarendon Hotel and Spa. I give it 3 stars. It wasn't as I expected it to be on that day because they're having the event on Saturday instead of the actual day and the rooms weren't extravagant as I thought it would be. Especially for 386 bucks. Only thing didn't have to worry about was smoking. No trash cans but a small one in bathroom. No microwaves. Bathroom was small. Breakfast sucked. Microwavable burrito and a paper brown bag. Like I really only enjoyed the bed. 🤣 Staff was cool. Scenery was nice. Tv selection sucked. I will not be getting another room though. I could have gotten a 4 star for that price with a huge bathroom for one night.

By the looks and location a little concern but let me tell you this place is amazing. I have stayed there multiple times and have always received excellent customer service. That is one thing you cannot say very often. The rooms inside are super clean even though outside gives a different vibe they are beautiful inside. They offer so many different amenities. They have complimentary beverages and snacks. They treat you like a real guest. Me and my husband were here when we want to relax and let her hair down. Big thanks to all those there that I've always made our stay great.

This little spot is cool. It’s not fancy, it’s not top of the line, but it’s fun and cute and you can smoke weed in some of the rooms. For this reason, some of y’all leaving reviews need to manage your expectations. Of course there’s gonna be a burn on a piece of furniture every now and then, you’re in a room where other stoners have dropped their joints, the same way you’ve done countless times before. It’s a party hotel, the furniture might be a little worn, get over it. If you’re too concerned about the furniture, you need to smoke better weed. The rooms are clean and a great backdrop to bring your own party to. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Fuego has a good nacho plate. There’s a couple rooms that have been turned into a lounge, which seemed fun for group hangs, that was not our intended purpose, so we didn’t stay there too long. Overall great experience, but I did read the 1 stars to manage those expectations and plan what I brought accordingly. Thanks Clarendon, it was a fun time.

We attended the Bud lover ball. I was hoping for an elevated classy adult experience. We were excited to get a sneak peek and decide if the membership would be worth it. What I experienced was a basic rooftop with a few vendors. There was a grungy vibe based on the crowd. No great music and several vendors with bongs, and I'm not interested in community puffing... the area by the hotel is showing signs of skid row in LA. There were seating and heat lamps. Hard pass on this place.

Was treated with kindness and compassion once I arrived. I heard music and ask what it was. Was told that they have a lounge upstairs that happens every Thursday through Sunday until 9 pm has a DJ and a bar. It was really nice has heaters and seating. A nice vibe. Definitely will come more often.the room was clean and the decor was decent just the nightstand and bathroom cabinets had visible scuffs and liquid damage. Still a 5 star overall only stayed 1 night.

Great little spot that's been remodeled into a very specific and unique look from an old school hotel. Nice beds. Pool is the highlight and what your able to light in specific rooms. This place isn't like most chain hotels. I'd give it a 4.5 but I'll round up. They serve breakfast burritos or quick go bags for complimentary breakfast. Just make sure you get there early for breakfast, they do run out.

  • 2/5 Lisa H. 6 months ago on Google
I was very disappointed, especially for the price we paid. Do not upgrade its $40 and the room smells like an ashtray there is no furniture lighting is very poor, but I realized how tacky and getto everything was makes sense to keep the lights down and let people smoke weed they probably won't notice. They turned a run down old hotel painted everything dark colors and charge outrageous prices. We did have fun regardless, will I stay there again NOPE. Staff was nice and the pool was nice.

I wish there were 3.5's cause although it offers good views it does not mean you could "see for days" cause to each side sits a building taller than them with some good space though. And the service at least for me was always accommodating and so friendly. To get some perks sometimes all you gotta do is ask. Now I'm not saying free this and that but a little shift here and there and you end up in one of the weed rooms. Now that is what I'm talking about people. Peace Out...

So, haven't completed our stay. Literally checked in and left to down town. BUT just the welcome and Jodi at the front desk was AMAZING! The hotel is super super cute. Not to mention the amenities they provide. I am very very pleased. 4 star on location because well it's not an appealing area, but they make up for it inside. HIGHLY recommend

Love the service at this unique hotel. A renovated motel. Great price. Lovely pool. Comfortable. And a great restaurant attached (patio with music in the evenings). We needed to move rooms because of a small issue; and it was taken care of immediately.

Found a sock in the room that wasn't ours. Restaurant was empty but hostess had the nerve to ask if we had a reservation. Ordered food to take back to our room, told the person that I'd wait at the bar, server let my food get cold (and ice cream get warm) for way too long even though he saw me waiting for my dinner. Supposed to be an over 21 property, but saw children in the restaurant. Cute hotel, shout out to Don Bolles, but disappointing service. Wanted to take my wife out someplace nice for my birthday, but was not impressed.

We had a great time and the staff were awesome. They took care of the snack, water, and even toothbrush need. The are in the rooms was good. No room coffeemaker though. The pool and jacuzzi had the perfect vibe and stayed open late. Choose to at least have one meal at the restaurant, Fuego, at the hotel. Great rooftop views. Some room updates are needed with the bathrooms. Specifically remove the tub in the bath. Stand-up showers are needed. The light in the bath was a flickering. The bed was comfortable. Cannabis friendly is the Clarendon which is cool.

We travel for a living and this place was awesome not that expensive .From the time we came in Melinda was so nice and caring .the room was amazing and my favorite movie picture was on the wall and the bed was super comfortable and the room was quiet .I only wish we had more time to enjoy this place they have a huge pool and hot tub and the food we got from the bar/ restaurant was freaking crazy good .We just came in to sleep but hopefully we will be back .Also I know it says cannabis friendly we didn't know this when we booked but never smelled it at all the rooms are so well made . so if you like that or not don't let it stop you because it was Just a beautiful experience all around .

We spent the weekend here and it was not a good experience. The room we had, had no phone. The TV didn't work. The shower was dirty like it wasn't cleaned. The front desk was always In a bad mood when we had to call them FROM OUR CELL PHONES. The restaurant and bar was really nice. Very welcoming good drinks a little pricey but worth it. NOT KID FRIENDLY 21 & OVER

Very pleased with my one night stay here. I came into town for a concert and booked a night here so I didn’t have to commute home late and I was satisfied with my limited experience! The room was nicely decorated and clean; the complementary “munchies” were greatly appreciated. It was nice lodging at a 21+ establishment without worrying about little ones disturbing the peace. The location is very central downtown, but recluse in a quaint neighborhood, so it’s quiet surrounding the hotel. I’ll be returning to enjoy the other amenities that this place offers. The room was clean, presentable, quiet - no complaints.

Tucked away.. but if you find it you have found a great spot. Courteous staff. Nice restaurant with a band.. started with standard room but choose the special upgrade. Man they really set the mood and helped when the munchies kicked in.. and got to sit in the Jacuzzi.. say no more.. gotta try the roof top yoga next time though..

Me and my husband stayed in a cannabis friendly room. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Our stay happened to be during the bud lovers bash which was a lot of fun and definitely worth checking out. This hotel may not be the most modern in Phoenix but it is worth checking out! The room was very comfortable and much larger than I was expecting. We also checked out the lazy bee spa on site and that was a wonderful experience. Overall a great experience and one me and my husband will be doing again for a staycation.

We had a wonderful bartender (blonde gal) when we 1st arrived. The check in/out gal with red hair was rather rude. If it not had been for us meeting several couples from different states for a celebration of life service, we would have completely switched to another place for our stay. Thankfully we also met them all for dinner and had an amazing server. The food was Incredible!!!! I highly recommend the bar and restaurant! As far as the accommodations, they sure could use friendlier front desk employees.

Great place to stay! We were there for a concert and stayed one night. It was perfect we landed at 3pm and got to the hotel and had dinner there and didn’t have to search around for restaurants in the area. Which made it perfect since the concert was at 7. They also give you snacks if you ask the front desk. Super nice staff! Would stay again and try the swimming pool and breakfast next time. The picture is the food we had for our dinner-Nachos(so good!), a chili soup, empanada and tacos.

First, the good: The hotel staff were friendly, courteous, and happy to help. The Fuego restaurant was very good, and had great cocktails. It was a great location for us to get around greater Phoenix. The free breakfast burritos were tasty. Now, the not-so-good. The room was bad. It was furnished with cheap Ikea furniture that had been used and used hard, as evidenced by the scratched and chipped finishes on the furniture and ragged edges on the window shade. The bathroom faucet wasn't attached to the sink. It wobbled every time it was used. The bathtub was worn out and grungy. The sheets had old ink stains on them. There were nowhere near enough hangers in the closet. The room smelled musty. The pool did not look well-maintained. Overall, a disappointing experience.

The hotel is surprisingly awesome! The rooms are updated, trendy and cute. The pool area is large, colorful, and chill. The workers are nice and helpful. They have THC smoking rooms available! How modern is that! The bed and bedding is comfy and the rooms are spacious and functional. I would totally book here again when we stay here next!

First room I was given smelled damp. Carpet squares were loose and came up easily. Lighting sucked . Second room smelled way better, but the only window looked out onto the outside stairs . At the right angle you could see into the room & there was no way to cover it. Neither room had a phone to call down to the front desk or make local calls from. Charged a resort fee for the room but this hotel is nowhere near being considered a resort. Also charged $10 for overnight parking but it was worth it. Front desk staff were awesome. Free snacks & sodas throughout the night. Pool & hot tub were awesome. Rooftop area was closed during the time I stayed here. Restaurant located in hotel was open but I did not eat there. This hotel is definitely not up to par for the price paid. It needs updating throughout to warrant a resort fee. The one thing that I was pleasantly surprised by was the Cannabis rooms. These are smoking allowed rooms for people with their medical marijuana cards who may need to smoke due to health reasons. Otherwise the hotel is non smoking.

This hotel is not very safe for children and it definitely needs a facelift when it comes to the rooms furniture and appliances. Hopefully with the remodeling they can update this hotel to a four star status as stated on their website but as for now I feel this hotel was more of a two star motel. I just want to make a point that staff and faculty were amazing and I give them a five out of five for politeness and being such great people.

The hotel is located in a really nice spot, and the staff are super friendly! We got there a little bit late so we're not able to eat at the restaurant (Fuego!) but it sure smelled good in there! My only problem was that the carpeting is really filthy in the corridors. I really don't understand why hotels such as this leave the carpet so disgusting. The room was nice the air conditioning was cool and the bed was super comfy. The pool appears to need some updating as the tiles are coming apart. With a little bit of maintenance this hotel would definitely get five stars from us! We will be back, there's no doubt about it.
