Absolutely horrible hospital and horrendous experience. My sister went in there because she was having (what she suspected and turned out to be true) symptoms of an active miscarriage, and myself and her husband were there. First of all they wouldn't let us be near her even though she was practically screaming in pain; the nurse looked annoyed that she was crying and hunched over and wouldn't listen to her tell them she was miscarrying and she needed someone to try to save her baby or help her. They took her vitals, told her it would be a 2-3 hour wait and then wheeled her into the waiting room and left her there writhing in pain. We tried to comfort her and the people at the front desk refused to let us sit with her. The staff was apathetic and condescending and completely uncaring. There was a particular man at the front desk that was so absolutely dead inside that I don't know why he even bothered to come in at all if he hates his job so much. They threatened our family and brought security and dogs just for coming in to the front desk and checking on her. She was so uncomfortable and upset that she left and ended up miscarrying within the hour. They cared more about us (who were double masked up by the way) checking on her than treating her. If she wouldn't have left, she would have miscarried in the waiting room and bled all over their (already) nasty, dirty floor. Worst experience we've ever encountered and so traumatizing to my sister who was further traumatized by losing her baby. I will never forgive this place for the way they treated her and our family.

I was just at Banner Estrella ER on Sunday. I waited for nine hours to see an ER doctor for a complicated migraine with right-sided focal deficits. This was a different and severe migraine for me. My rescue medication did not work at home. I came to the ER for emergency care. I got rushed care and had to ask for a warm blanket four times as I was literally shaking. I was using the flat sheet on the stretcher to keep warm at one point. The nursing staff was rude and let's not even talk about the HIPPA violations that occurred. This hospital was a horrific experience. I asked to leave after my IV infusion and was literally ignored by everyone. But they weren't too busy to gossip at the desk. I was completely done after another hour of waiting. I took myself off the monitor, took out my own IV and left. The sad part is that the nursing staff didn't even realize I was not there until 30 minutes after I left. They asked me to return to check my IV site which I refused. I get home and 30 minutes later I have a police officer knocking on my door for a welfare check. If the nurses want to protect their license, they should actually do their job instead of gossiping. It isn't a police officers' job to follow up. Please don't go to this hospital!! My neurologist was completely horrified when I saw him the next day. He said my care was completely inappropriate and gave me a recommendation for a different hospital that has excellent migraine protocols. Patients beware of this hospital!!!

My sister came in due to severe body aches and irregular heart beat. Originally we went to our local urgent care, and they were wonderful. They found she had an acute onset of tachycardia and hypertension, but didn't have the proper resources to help her so they suggested she go to an ER to get it checked ASAP. So off to Banner Estrella Medical Center we went. Please if you need to go to an ER do not go to this one. They had my sister sit in there for 9+ hours (and even managed to forget about her, thus having her wait an extra 45 minutes). When she was finally seen, she didn't even see a doctor; it was a student physician. She wasn't prescribed anything. She was told she was too stressed and needed sleep (which was ironically funny due to it being impossible to get any rest sitting in that waiting room half the day). Then they send her off and charge her $700 for it. 9 hours so they could essentially give her nothing. I understand short-staffing but there's a point where the patients sitting around you look miserable and exhausted and are sharing how many hours they've been waiting. The staff never even bothered to tell my sister if her condition wasn't apparently that serious or what her wait time would be. Please don't waste half your day and be charged a lot for it. If you need care, go to another place that will actually care for and about you.

Had an excellent experience at Banner Estrella in the labor and delivery area! A nurse by the name of Jamie was so kind the entire time I was in active labor and into delivery. She had just a radiant and kind energy, I believe she was a Libra! I would recommend this hospital to anyone needing labor and delivery services. All of the staff was notably kind and attentive, even with them doing so many deliveries for moms and babies they still made sure you were heard and cared for properly. Thank you Banner Estrella for now delivering not one but two of my children!

Wish I could put ZERO stars. WORST WORST WORST hospital we have ever been to. Trust me worst is an understatement I'm being generous. Waited over 6 hours for my son to be seen with a fractured arm. The WORST part is that everyone was just sitting around talking and laughing no priority for patients. Now I know why it has 2 stars but we are from out of town so we were forced to come here. I see all these responses from the reps yet no changes made. Jay was a great doctor only good side about it.

WORST ER NATIONWIDE!!! DO NOT GO HERE if you care for yourself or loved one! ***I have already emailed the Banner Customer Care email they will post under this review. I don’t think they even read the reviews or care.*** After being called back, I was put in the “results waiting room” in the ER for 8 hours waiting for my medical results. (Another guy came in with the same problem and got an actual room where his spouse was able to go with him and he was discharged hours before me.) The “Result Waiting Room” (see pictures) was a small ER patient room they converted by putting 7 horrible seats that were falling apart in. There are multiple sick patients coming in and out. At one point 4 of us were in the room, but they put up to 7 in the small room. I felt inmates and animals are both treated better than this. I have a weakened immune system and this was not a safe setting for me. The seats were unconstitutionally uncomfortable (the chairs in the waiting room were better). Staff DID NOT come in once in the 8 hours to check on me or other patients. The room/chairs were not disinfected as patients left the entire 8 hours I was there. My spouse was not allowed into the room so I had absolutely no support. The seating caused external back pain to the point my back was twitching and my legs were going numb. I will never come back or recommend this ER! Seriously considering leaving the Banner Network all together. Staff was kind and agreed they did not like the “Result Waiting Room” process in the ER and did not agree with the process. It is set up just to make more money for the hospital and show they don’t care about patients health. I have great insurance, so that had nothing to do with why I was out in this room and I am sure they will bill my insurance for a ER room. (No one regardless of insurance should be treated this way!) Note: Due to privacy I did not include pictures of other patients.

After reading the lions share of reviews... I have to say... I am VERY CONCERNED for my sons safety at this hospital. He had a heart transplant 2 years ago...in Seattle...where they took FABULOUS care of him....even at the onset of the Pandemic... he moved to Phoenix this past January...He has had ZERO issues with his new heart... hes been working 40+ hours a week... kept his young son for the summer. All was well until he caught the flu....NOW it seems he is in a DEATH TRAP of a medical facility. I intend to fly over there this afternoon... to help with his care... as God as my witness... if he isn't receiving proper medical attention/care.... SOMETHING will be hitting a fan!!! I sincerely hope the claims of filthy rooms and dirty equipment aren't true. I am going to assume that the review regarding having no access to clean drinking water...must have been a "mistake"??? Not to mention... the comments re: rude/incompetent staff members... surely... I'll find those to be "mistakes" as well...

Worst visit ever! Er department was a joke they call you back just to put you in a room with other patients one had a broke bone other patient was getting treated with iv solution. No beds just chairs they did not help me with what I went in for. They put on paper they gave me pain meds but they didn’t. One nurse was talking stuff about her patients saying she doesn’t wheelchair any of them she makes everyone walk regardless of what is wrong with them . They are not professional at all. Do not take any of your family here!! Go anywhere else but here. And when my results came in they brought into a room with other people’s trash .. Very unsanitary if you are not sick going to this er you will get sick with how they are doing it..

I can't even give this hospital one star, but I have to to post this.. My son went to emergency because of his appendix. He already knew that his appendix was bad because the last hospital put him on antibiotics for it. He was told it would be about a 4 hour wait. 12 hours later they got him in and rushed him to surgery. He spent 11 hours in the lobby in pain and another hour in the room waiting because the staff had no idea he was in there. They did take his blood when he got there, but then refused to give him the results and tried to send him home where he could have died.. When I called the hospital to complain I was told his blood work results over the phone. I am pretty sure that is against HIPA laws. The staff and nurses at this hospital need some ongoing training in customer care. If my son would have died from your lack of care, this hospital would have definitely had a lawsuite on their hand. Act like you care about people that is your job!

If I could I would give no stars. Brought my baby for ear infection and they made me wait more than 3 hours with her crying. They should prioritize children. When we were finally brought inside the nurse was so whatever he didn’t even introduce him self or nothing the bed was wet and he put a blanket on top and asked me to lay her there. Of course I didn’t. What has happened with good service and quality care ??? When the doctor came he said there was nothing he could do about it. Babies get about 20 ear infections on their first year he said. I really hate this hospital for not taking care of babies the way they are supposed to

We had excellent care in labor and delivery. The day time nurses were very informative and with me every step of the way. I could not have asked for a better delivery. We enjoyed the quality of post partum. The food was good; you were able to order a plethora of food. The only down side of our whole stay was the night time shift nurses. There were just plainly not enough staff, we called the help line multiple times for our concerns with our newborn but no one came for a long time. That is not the nurses fault, just the hospital needs more staff for the night shift. Overall I would deliver again there.

Worst ER ever. You don’t even get to go to a room ever. You just get something done and then are forced to sit back in the waiting room. My wife and I have been here for 5 hours now with no end in sight. My wife ram out of water and asked the front desk about how she could get some more (vending machines, water fountain, even a hose) they said they removed all the vending machines, there is no drinking fountain or hose to fill up her water bottle and we can’t leave or we lose our ‘spot’ . They have people sitting here for hours and hours with no way to get food or water. Worst service ever. I wish there was a zero star review. Good thing after I post this they will reply with the same generic response they give everyone else. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Just had my 3rd child here and I HIGHLY recommend their labor and delivery center. Every single nurse, doctor, and member of staff have gone above and beyond- all three times I've been here. This last time, I unfortunately had an emergency c-section (my 1st c-section) and the care I received was great. My daughter had a week long stay in the NICU, and there are no words for how amazing the people there were. I never had a single worry about her care. I owe them more than I could ever give, I am so grateful and thankful for them!

Literally, the emergency room staff tonight did not care. Showed no bedside manor. Their triage was trash. Seriously, I have never seen a worse staff. The wife needed to go in to have a stitch fixed and checked out. They didn't check the chief complaint they checked vitals and bloodwork. There was an active bleed, and they didn't bother to check that. I Throughly believe this health care team should have a license revoked. Furthermore people were in worse shape waiting 3 + hours. Estrella Banner is the new death valley hospital for sure. To be of service to people and not fulfill your service part. The staff here should be ashamed, and the company should be ashamed if this is the standard of care this place offers.

At 29 weeks pregnant I was sent here by my OB for an ultrasound due to one leg severely swelling, with severe pain and it being very hard to walk. Almost every staff member I encountered was very rude. The person performing my ultrasound seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. My husband and I were left in the hallway as there was no seating at OB Triage. They forgot about us after a shift change and the only reason we were seen was because my husband went back to admitting and said we had been waiting for 6 hours. When we were finally seen to discuss the results we were basically told nothing was wrong and this was a normal pregnancy symptom. The doctor seemed annoyed by us wanting to ask follow up questions. She was in a delivery but came to the room after going back and forth with the nurse. She essentially pressed on my leg once said there’s no pitting you are fine and can expect this during pregnancy. I was discharged after. Symptoms continued to get worse so I elected to get a second opinion from Banner Thunderbird. They found 4 blood clots (and treated me a lot better too). I will never go back to this hospital. Please consider all other options before putting yourself and your baby at risk!!!

I ruptured my achilles I was sent to the occupational clinic as I was injured at work. I appreciate that department as they were quick and kind. I was sent to the ER because that departments orthopedic was not in. I have been in the ER now for 6 hours. The nurse on staff had a rude tone and asked why I was here because I was provided a boot by the occupational department. She then shooed me and my parents out without communicating what the next steps were after ordering me an X-ray . For the majority of my time here both of my parents have been with me to support. Another staff member came up to my family and was too close personally and had a disrespectful tone asking to have one of my parents leave because only one person could be with me. I understand protocols but several other families were there with multiple people as well so that was disrespectful especially with the lack of communication and time that we have been waiting. Please don’t waste your time coming here. I know there are others who are in a more severe situation than myself that have also been here for hours without any care or compassion.

The wait is long, and when they take u back they keep u sitting in a chair the entire time rather than letting u lay on the bed. Then they move u to another room where there’s like 3-4 other sick patients sitting there in a chair with IVs. The room is a regular size room but doesn’t have a bed instead it has 6 chairs. The set up doesn’t allow u to feel comfortable. There’s people coughing all over , some throwing up, it’s just not a pleasant visit. In all honesty I felt like we didn’t matter. That our sickness wasn’t important since we weren’t bleeding.

I just want to say banner Estrella is one of the BEST hospitals in AZ! They literally go above and beyond especially Philip from CT in the ER he's amazing brought me a nice hot blanket when he didn't have to it was time for him to leave and he did it any way !🙂🙏 Banner always has treated me with respect and I'm a stage 4 lung cancer patient. I would recommend them anytime ! They do there very best to go above and beyond.

I had the worst experience here with my birth. Nurses were loud all night long I didn’t get any sleep. In postpartum My nurse wouldn’t help me nurse just made me feel like a failure for not knowing 2 hours after giving birth. They made me clean my own blood up in the bathroom hours after giving birth. No one would help us swaddle our baby but scolded us for his foot getting loose. I didn’t sleep the entire 3 days delivering and recovering because nurses were so loud laughing and talking. Made me almost wish I did a home birth instead. Thank God I had a great midwife because nurses never made me feel safe or taken care of.

If you are planning to give birth at this location DO NOT. I want to this hospital to give birth to my 3rd child and for the ENTIRE stay the staff did not feed me. I requested food the day after I gave birth and it never came so I finally sent my husband to go get food a few hours later. At this point it had been almost 24 hours since I had eaten since I didn't eat during labor. I continue asked for things and never received they or had to ask 5 to 6 times to receive things. Such as water, sanitary pads, and other needed items. When they discharged us they forgot us in the hospital room and did not provide a wheelchair for me. I opened a care case due to not being feed the entire stay, a total of 38 hours they did not provide me with food. They investigated and informed me that their system which will automatically send food after 2 missed meals was malfunctioning and their IT department was working to fix this. Even with all this Banner Health Estrella believes I received appropriate and is still doing to charge the full cost of room and board. This should have been one of the best moments of our lifes but we were stressed, exhausted, uncared for and frustrated when we left. Do not go to this hospital, they are a lawsuit waiting to happen at the expense of you and your loved ones.

My husband was having an acute pain on 10/28/2023 at 0400, he rated his pain at 10 on the scale 0-10. Due to the severity, and desperation, we went to the Emergency Room at Estrella Banner. We just encountered the worst experience ever. The negligence of the medical staff was EXTREMELY unprofessional; after the vitals taken, we were just placed on a room were we just left there for 2 hour without NO ONE showing up during that period of time (RN, LPN, CNA, not a single providers). For being a hospital trauma center 4; does not hold to its status. My husbands pain was just taken as a joke, which I did not find it funny whatsoever. They have poor communication skills and neglect using therapeutic communication towards their patients who are in pain is just a joke. We even had to walked out of the hospital due to the poor service provided and no one even noticed. The receptionist made us signed an AMA-letter without even them acknowledging it that we are the ones leaving because of their negligence of providing service. As is the service was free; I wish. If could rate this service as ZERO I would.

Unsanitary and not safe, after people check in for Covid symptoms they don’t even wipe down the check in area where they take your vitals. Most of the nurses in the front probably don’t care because they have the Covid vaccine but the fact that they aren’t taking sanitary precautions is not safe, they are a part of the problem instead of preventing it, then they have everyone in the same waiting room wether u have Covid symptoms or not, and this is including babies and children. Don’t come To this hospital NOT CLEAN

I had the BEST experience today at Banner Estrella. I had a procedure done and everyone... Check-in staff, nurses and Doctors... went above and beyond to get everything done on time, keep me comfortable and make sure everything went smoothly. Not only that, it was also fun joking and playing around with everyone. It truly was an amazing trip to the hospital. I'll never go anywhere else! Good job Banner Estrella!!

Someone with a stubbed toe that comes in an hour and a half after has more priority than someone that is short of breath. This place is horrible. how many times do you have to lose consciousness to see a doctor? Update: same day was rushed to another hospital. BP and heart rate sky high ... I could have died.

Scam. Doctors are good. This hospital is in our insurance network. But the doctor who saw my son is out of network. So my insurance will cover the hospital but not the doctor since the doctor is out of network. So if your dying remember to ask if your doctor is in your network.

As far having a baby, the care was excellent, I couldn't be happier , the doctors and nurses on call were awesome in providing care comfort and answering a laboring mother's questions . Dr. Allen delivered my baby( calm, compassionate and just plain sweet) she helped me deliver without tearing too? Dr. Goodman placed my epidural, virtually painless, curtious and professional as for my nurses throughout the days I stayed were attentive and supportive even if I was a little bit of a nag or weird, special thanks to Andyana, Karen( w the glasses), and thank you thank you Wendy ( blonde) for going out of your way she was definitely amazing....ps food is pretty darn good which only helps , thank you Dr.s and staff for your care and time, would definitely go back to deliver my next babe.

I would like to take the time to thank the entire staff at the hospital. I was treated very well while I was there as a patient. All the nurses were attentive to my needs while I was a very sick patient. I don't care what other negative comments people may have, all I can say is I was treated well and when you are sick compassion and a general concern goes along way towards aiding in you recovering. Thank syyou

Such a shame . They kept us in the hospital for 7 hours . I came because my son have fever and having hard time to pee . And first they thought it is urine infection. And after time urine test came out negative. And nothing is wrong, then an flu and covid test came out negative. Then an X-Ray . And they are still don’t know what is wrong with my son . The doctor is so nice and the nurses but the only thing I complain is about the time they waist for people. THE TIME . We understand they have other patients but 7 hours is extremely too much . It was our first and last time for sure

My grand baby was born yesterday at the maternity ward and I am beyond impressed with the quality and care of the staff! Our kids were so well cared for and April was an amazing nurse! It was clear this is both her gifting and calling! She was such a gift for our anxious new mom and dad! Grateful for the quality of all the Drs and nurses we interacted with! I highly recommend this place for any new parents!

I had the best experience at Banner Estrella during my son's delivery. Dr. Briggs Geier was very professional and also very sweet and kind! She seems to love what she does. Likewise the morning shift nurses Bianca and Jocelyne were the best! They helped me a lot throughout the process, I will be grateful to them my whole life, they were always attentive, giving the best attention, with the best attitude, I hope all the staff were just like them!

I gave birth here in 2019 and I just wanted to thank all of the nurses for making my birthing experience so special. There was one specific nurse (I wish I would’ve gotten her name but I was in active labor by the time I was admitted, which was my choice) who coached me through contractions and the other assisting nurses were so helpful and supportive the entire time. Thank you guys so much. Although I don’t remember any of your names, you guys really helped in making my experience so special ❤️❤️ Also, I told the nurses I wanted to breastfeed and they were very supportive, didn’t give him a binky or anything and brought in a lactation specialist to help with any questions. I wanted very little intervention and they made it happen. Thank you guys.

I had a HORRIBLE experience at banner health hospital, all the nurses acted like they didn’t know what they were doing they pocked my baby several time with the needle. And the tool x-rays and never came back to tell us the results they also Covid tested my Baby and NEVER came back with the results. Whenever we were done with blood work they took forever to put IV fluids in him . And they had us waiting in the waiting room for 5 HOURS I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL.

If I could review this hospital 0 stars I would the worst and disgusted experience after coming in for pregnancy complications I get to sit in a small room with sick patients surrounding me an IV ,in pain in a hard chair for hours where other hospitals they give you your privacy to wait on results I am definitely changing doctors due to the hospital my obygn only delivers here and its unfortunate I didn't take enough pictures but waiting room with other patients needles! Waiting room don't get sanitize as people leave and nurses never follow up unless you go to them or you get your test results. I went back to get an ultrasound and saw a ton of room empty I'm not sure why those can't be used.

As a recent patient of Banner health, I would never recommend this hospital system to any of my family and friends. I received care for my medical problem, but I also experienced negligent behavior in terms of managing my insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus that I have had for 30 years. It seems as if Banner health does not have a protocol in place for type one diabetics, who are new patients. This was shocking, and because of the lack of protocol for type one diabetics, I would never return here for care. The doctors did not properly put in the necessary orders for the insulin that I require to manage my blood sugars as a type one diabetic. Unfortunately I allowed the staff to take away my insulin without understanding that they would not order my insulin properly based on the regimen that my specialist and I have decided it is the best for my diabetes care. After they took away my insulin, I figured that they would follow up and get the proper orders to allow me to eat food and cover the carbohydrates that I was going to eat as well as get the proper order for managing a high blood sugar. This didn’t happen in the orders were not the right ones to keep my blood sugars and take control. I was in the hospital for an infection and when a type one has an infection, it is very important that they keep their blood sugars intake control. This allows the body to fight infection. The doctor on staff allowed my blood sugar to go high, and I had to beg and plead for them to give me insulin to bring down my blood sugar to the correct levels. I was so shocked, frustrated and angry that I can hardly even describe it properly. The emotional distress that this experience caused me is unmatched in my experience. I have been a type one diabetic for 30 years and I’ve never experienced anything like this, in any other medical institutions care. I will soon seek an attorney to help me bring a case against Banner Health because the treatment with my diabetes was so negligent. Again I have spent time in hospitals in my past and never have I experienced situation similar to what I described. I am grateful for the care that I did receive, but I also know when I need to advocate for my care when it comes to my diabetes. I will never set foot in a Banner institution again as it could certainly be detrimental to my health in many different ways. I hope this review is posted to others can see that banner health does not have proper procedures and protocols to care for insulin-dependent type one diabetics.

Had our second child here and had a great experience! Most of the thanks goes to the L and D Nurse Bre!!!! She was phenomenal at her job and made it so easy on my wife. I am beyond disappointed. Worst hospital my mother was in here for covid and WOW they did not treat her the way that they should have. My poor mother was mistreated horribly the nurses are disrespectful. They do not care at all about our loved ones. It was a hassle trying to get my mother out of here to her clinic. I just thank god she’s out of this hospital I do not recommend at all. They will literally let you die.

Went into this hospital with my fiance he had high blood pressure, weak, nautious, with sharp pain his chest. I arrived at 5am (no one was in there. They said they had to wait for a bed to become available) by 730 he still hadn't been seen. I asked The from desk how much longer it would be and they told me they didn't even have his name in the system an asked did he get a wrist band.? I said yes and she asked for it back. He could have died. His blood pressure is still high. Now I have to go to a diff. Hospital they better hope its nothin seriously wrong with.Him an that he dont have to be admitted else where. I see why this hospital has a 2.5 rating.

I went in for vomiting and diarea I waiting 3 hours in the Er until I got called people who got there after me were called first not one or two but like 5 people but it’s ok I figured they had more serious conditions. They say I had colitis because of my stomach cramps asked if I had any contact with someone who had Covid 19 I said yes 2 people but never gave me a covid 19 test !! How are we supposed to stop the spread if you don’t even test people who are sick and have had contact with 2 different people with Covid 19 ?? Overall the nurses were great and helped me feel comfortable!

My daughter-in-law went several times for back pain and severe nausea she had UTI. She went a second time they told her to let meds start working (don't know how they would work if she couldn't keep anything down) On one of the visits she contracted COVID she went back a couple more times on the last visit there ER staff told her you come here to much go home. She was begging them for attention she was having chest pain. The staff/Dr. got fed up and said give her an IV 2 bags and send her home. She was 5 months pregnant. I finally took her to a different hospital they right away tested her for COVID because the chest pain she so much had begged the ER staff to check was COVID. She had all the symptoms but the USELESS ER BUNCH FAILED TO SEE because they were too focused that she went there too much. She had not been able to eat or drink anything for 3 weeks and suffered severe malnutrition Baby Xavion Apollo died in her womb. So thank you ER Next time check the patients NO MATTER IF THEY GO TOO MUCH.

I arrived at 4pm to the ER. I was brought back to a room around 715. It's now 930 and I still haven't received my results for my ultrasound. This place really needs to speed it up this is way too long for someone to wait. Update it is now almost 11 and I still haven't been discharged. If you come to this hospital come early bring food and snack plus a blanket because it's cold in there they mosgot andthe tac running in winter WTH,most of all good luck with h coming to this hospital.

I delivered both babies here, and each time my team was incredibly supportive. The first time my tech inserted the epidural three times because he wasn't very good, so the second time I asked the nurse for an experienced tech. No problems at all, and she was very understanding! I always tell people to go to this hospital to deliver. The people here took all the scariness out of delivering.

My mom was taken by ambulance with high blood pressure and trouble breathing. She was terrified. I followed the ambulance and by the time I got from my car to the ER she was already in a room getting treatment. Dr. Zahn, RN Kaylie, the respiratory specialist and another Male nurse (sorry I didn't get your name) were AMAZING! Calmed her down, took her seriously, and methodically eliminated the causes of her distress. Was admitted to ICU within 3 hours of arriving having had ultrasound, chest xray and cat scan. Don't understand why reviews are so low. They are amazing.

I just wanted to say that banner Estrella labor nd delivery nurses were awesome I had my baby 6 days ago ( first time mom) and they took care of me and my bf so well. The only thing that sucked about that hospital was the postpartum care team. There was times I would call for a cup of ice water or more wipes and diapers and they would take hours just to bring me that stuff.

I Can count the number of times I have left a review on one hand and I try not to base my opinion off experience of anyone else’s because I know things can happen, However Banner Estrella has a low rating for a reason! My mom was sent there by her primary doctor to emergency due to her heart and everything that she requested while there for comfort they told her “I’ll let your nurse know” and guess what? She was never helped! She asked for a blanket and pillow for my dad who stayed the night with her and they kept telling her they’ll be right there and it wasn’t until she got up out of her bed that they finally came and gave her it 🤦🏻‍♀️ it was a mess I can go on but I’ll leave this rant here! All I can ask is that they do better!

Took Mom There Around 5:00 to the ER kicked me out(which I completely understand not offended at all) Took her in For Very Low Blood Pressure Got Text with in a hour and a half that she was in diagnostics and a call from RX within 2 hours asking about any meds she was taking. Even in normal time's that is pretty fast. There Tired and they are cranky but that's irrelevant when come saving people lives. Thank You for seeing my mother and doing what can help others despite the crisis

I gave birth here & wouldn't do it again. I arrived at 6cm waited an hour to get taken back & was asked if I wanted my epidural & I said yes the lady (she's young & blonde) said she was going to get it now & she didn't she kept coming in but no epidural for an hour and a half I was 8cm she kept telling me to relax as I was waiting for my epidural- in an extremely annoyed tone of voice. She was so awful honestly that ruined it I'd never give birth here again.

Back in 2013 i experienced one of the most scariest moments of my life which actually should of been the happiest moment of my life as i was welcoming my first born daughter. It all started when i was admitted for gallstones which quickly turned to pre-eclampsia stay. The biggest memory i have is of me pleading with my drs and nurses that something didn't feel right! I kept complaining of chest pains but the nurse would roll her eyes and say it was just my baby pushing on my diaphragm when in reality i was suffering from a very rare heart condition called peripartum cardiomyopathy, well that wasn't found out until a week AFTER I HAD AN EMERGENCY C SECTION! why you might ask? Because they wanted me to wait until 37 weeks to deliver even tho i had pre-eclampsia and was showing serious signs of health decline NOBODY LISTENED TO ME UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE and the worst of it all was being gaslighted and ignored by the same ppl who took an oath to save you. The worst moment came the day i coded, i went back in to the er with severe shortness of breath and an hr later after being admitted i coded! For 8 minutes! Yes i died and here's the kicker, even tho they knew i was having a water retention problem THEY CONSTANTLY HAD 2IV PUSHING MORE FLUIDS!!! they contributed to my decline because my heart had a main valve leaking and my heart sucked it up like a sponge hence creating this slow agonizing death for me, well after they brought me back i was given paralyzing medication that still allowed for me to be conscious just not able to open my eyes and move so i felt EVERYTHING!! i felt when they put in my iv line, when they INTUBATED ME and when they did a very painful echogram with a breast full of milk, and if all of that wasn't traumatizing let's cut to the part where a nurse unplugged my breathing machine accidentally when she moved my bed too far from the machine and just LAUGHED with her other coworkers as if that mistake was at all funny! It has taken years of therapy and healing for me to finally open up and share my story without having a full panic attack. Shame on the drs and nurses that ignored my pleas for help! Pls never ignore your body, you know it better than anyone and just because they are professionals doesn't mean they are perfect!

Came here 3 times for the same reason. ( knee issues ) And still hasn’t been solved. I expressed how I felt my first two visits they didn’t take me serious and even the doctor/nurse even told me since I’m a “kid” ( I’m 19 years old) she would’ve have either. Ridiculous! All they do is tell you there’s nothing they can do and bill you crazy amounts of money!

These hospital has left my family and myself so TRAUMATIZE!! My grandmother was hospitalized for a month and a half due to COVID. She had to be on high flow oxygen, she was responding just fine. Yes we had all understand he process was slow and we even explained that to my grandmother and she was okay with that. She was in the third floor for a week and a half. She got moved to the 4th floor just because she wouldn't use the bathroom in the 3rd floor with no update from the staff. My grandmother was the one updating me on everything. I get it staff is busy and all I never asked for a half hour conversation I needed an update that was it. Once she was in the fourth floor that's when it all went wrong, the nurses started to be rude to us and at points wouldn't even pick up any of our calls. We even came a cross someone picking up the call and saying "STOP CALLING BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO PICK UP YOUR CALL" and yes they hanged up n not until we showed up at the hospital and got an update. They then made only one family member call and no one else, yes we understood but when my grandmother needed something asap what?!! That would cause more time waste but no they didn't care. They had us like this 3 weeks. It got to the point nurses would tell her to stop call us and telling us everything! N I witnessed that during one of the phone calls I had with her. The nurses and translator would even talk to her in a very high voice and made it seem like they've had it with her. My grandmother had been doing great until she had a nurse yell at her because she was feed up of her. My grandmother had a major break down due to this nurse. She was crying during our call and saying she was getting treated bad. My aunt was able to go in and calm her she spent time with her and she was fine when she left. Monday my grandmother had an incident and had her oxygen drop to 20%. Yes 20%, HOW LONG DID THEY TAKE TO GO AND HELP HER ??? We didn't get any update on this incident until 9pm from the night shift when this had happened at 12pm. She was placed on Bipap and while she was on it she wasn't getting any oral care or even any type of care. They then started to say my grandmother was having confusion and wasn't alert to them. My Mother went in and was able to see her. She then asked my grandma "do you know who I am?" She did seem confused but of course with all the gear who wouldn't be, she then told her "Mom its me n said her name" my grandma then right away knew and made her know she knew her. She was even saying I haven't been able to do her hair. She had even told my mom she wanted food, and her favorite fruit. She was alert and responding just perfect to things. The next day we get a call from the DR saying Hospice was the best for her. We asked for new test and x-rays and a good update from the Dr. we had gotten everything on the 29th. My cousin was able to go in with my grandmother this day and my grandmother was no longer on bipap. She was one oxygen and seem to be really calm witch was something weird. Nurse mentioned he had stop all type of medication due to Dr's orders. Her oxygen would fall off and my cousin pressed the nurse call button 4 hours being there they never showed up. My grandmothers call light was even placed on the back of her bed and her belonging in plastic bags. They had sent my grandmother to Hospice with no consent from any of us. Just 15 min after my cousin left her we get a call that my grandmother had passed away due to her oxygen dropping so low. We show up at the Hospital and the Charged nurse says my grandmothers heart rate dropped and that they were doing the best they could they had even done CPR. There was no evidence she had CPR given to her and yet they had all they're stories all messed up and easily say I'm SORRY. That don't bring someone back!! This hospital has so many patients neglect and no one is aware of it. Because no one is able to be there but just the patient itself. Please stay away from these hospital!!! Horrible experience and yet all the trauma they've caused us!!!!

My sister Linda S was admitted last Thursday early morning through emergency. From there to ICU where she is still a patient. With a long family history of hospital stays I can gratefully say that the whole ICU staff, from doctors to janitorial are the most knowledgeable, compassionate, and definitely top notch individuals we have had for care. They take the time to get to know you when coming on shift and at end of shift come in to say goodbye. They keep you updated on on procedures and scheduling and what to expect. We were blessed to have this team taking care of our family.

To DR Mellen: Read the horrible reviews you have because of your front desk staff, namely Daisy the scheduler. Absolutely horribly rude staff, had medical information sent over 2 times. Staff denied having received, but verified with other provider that information was sent Staff refused to take responsibility for error. Once complained, after a month of waiting the very next day the scheduler Daisy called and happily told us we would be denied medical care for a referral from 2 doctors for a possible serious diagnosis. The Doctor may be great, but the front staff are in such disarray that it is not worth going here. Daisy informed me she was the "boss" because she is the scheduler. She was very rude, and after simply asking to see if she could expedite the pressing matter to the doctor she respond, "if you don't like it go somewhere else" She went out of her way to prolong another persons suffering because she was offended that I asked to expedite the paperwork, which their staff had misplaced 2 times. She was extremely offended and hostile when I asked to speak to a supervisor. Our primary care doctor doesn't understand why DR Mellen would deny treatment. He said any doctor who viewed those files would be concerned. Daisy would provide no reason.. Daisy refused to pass on messages to management. Our other doctors are questioning the integrity of your practice and I have asked to spare sending patients to you. New GI received medical records and within 24 hours determined an app was required ASAP. They were applaud that Daisy went out of her way to make sure someone suffering was denied medical treatment. This is what is wrong with the medical industry and this practice should be absolutely ashamed to have someone so uneducated and thoughtless working at their business. This would have been solved with a simple explanation to why the paperwork was misplaced 2 times, had the doctor review what now 3 other doctors have deemed an immediate medical need. I wish I was leaving a grateful review for your help in diagnosing and treating a serious problem.

Awful Hospital and experience! After visiting emergency room being brought to back within 15 minutes due to unknown severe pain, the nurses left me alone in room screaming for hour with no care at all, I had to drag myself out scream in hallway and they sent someone in 30 minutes later to check in, received no vitals, no blood pressure, for almost 2hrs, and never was given any pain medication during whole visit! I Never once seen a actual Doctor, & Nurses were very impatient rude providing NO HELP OR RELIEF, I think one name was Sara, Mari shame on you!!! Mostly all staff was completely careless, I ended up having to leave there to go to another Hospital for treatment because nothing was getting done properly, the dumb lady even lied and said she couldn't find my veins nowhere! I was dehydrated deprived of any fluids even after 2hrs of being there... I Later found out at another Location that I had Large Kidney stone.

The staff in the Maternity area were absolutely fantastic. They dealt with my experience with empathy and encouragement. They did not judge my decisions for pain management. They also saved my life during a complicated delivery. Everyone was positive and very professional. Their knowledge and expertise made this process significantly easier given all the complications. It is because of their staff and facilities that we were able to bring our baby -and myself- home safe and sound. Thank you to all the staff, including the nurses, assistants, doctors, and environmetal management staff, for assisting our little family in getting off on the right foot! Always greatful and appreciative!

Banner hospital is the worst!!! The way my father in law was treated here is no way to treat a patient. My father in law is a Veteran!! He sacrificed his life, blood, tears, EVERYTHING. They neglected him!! They kept him for 3 weeks finally they sent him home with bed sores without telling us about the sores. No instructions on how to care for the sores he developed at hospital. They kept pushing hospice and nursing homes on us. This is not how you treat the elderly or anyone who came in for help in the first place. We will make sure to never let any of our family at this hospital.

Being new to the state I wasn't sure how my experience would go at this hospital. This review is for the registration staff and preop staff. The registration process was quick and easy, great customer service. The preoperative nurses and staff were amazing! My nurse Melissa was the best! I felt like I was in great hands and everything went perfect, the other nurses in preop were amazing as well. My anesthesiologist Dr. Abadi was great also. If I needed surgery again I would come back to this hospital.

Took 1 hr 45 min to check vitals. 47 min to get in for checkup. 2 more hours for medicine. Filthy floors, dirty restrooms. Nurses gossiping about patients. Was there for a total of 12 hrs in a chair. Nurses never came to check up on me, literally not once. I was going to get discharged without them going over my results. Just terrible. Do not come here.

I delivered my son here (admitted 12/21/23 discharged 12/24/23) and it was an amazing experience! My labor and delivery nurse Taylor and the entire postpartum team was amazing. Taylor made sure to be encouraging and extremely kind, I had several (mild) complications and she listened to all of my concerns and reassured me for everything. I’m a first time mom and I felt so celebrated and cared for. I 1000% recommend Banner Estrella for anyone delivering. Thank you to everyone who cared for me, you are all AMAZING!

Waiting room filled, very few seats, everyone was coughing, hacking etc. I waited 4 hours to be seen, not for a cold but for a pulled muscle in my shoulder that made breathing difficult. My nurse Trista Wilson was one of the greatest I’ve had in a while. She was fast and accurate, put an IV in with one try, drew blood and gave meds, she was pleasant, funny and knowledgeable.Just when you think it can’t get any better, in walks Dr Palmer, a nice doctor, who did not rush me, he really listened and had a conversation with me, not just nodding, shaking his head and dismissing my concerns. I am very pleased with the service I received on this visit.

The labor and delivery nurses are phenomenal! I can't speak to the ER/hospital as a whole, but I wanted to leave a review of my experience in maternity. Earlier this year, I had a 3-day induction, with complications that ended up leading to a 5-day total hospital stay. So, I got to interact with a lot of nurses during that time. I always felt well cared for---not just that the team was knowledgeable and smoothly run (which they were), but also that they were kind and genuinely seemed to care about my experience. Their kindness came through in their words and mannerisms, and also in small but significant gestures such as asking for my consent before doing anything invasive. Even when the labor and delivery department got crazy busy, they managed to tend to me with only minimal delays. They made a very difficult few days as comfortable as possible and were sympathetic to my pain and exhaustion. They always kept me informed and updated, explained what to expect, and brought me all the supplies I needed from extra pillows to food to an exercise ball. Most importantly, my baby was safe, and I knew the nurses were always monitoring him and me to ensure our safety and respond if any issues came up. Thank you ladies for helping my baby arrive safely, and for helping me get through it all!

I am not one that likes any type of anesthesia and have always had issues with it previously. Nurse Melissa made sure to communicate to every other specialist, nurse, doctor, etc, about my concerns and answered every silly question I had. I’m so thankful I chose Dr Ho. He was fantastic pre and post op and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better doctor to do this procedure for me. I had zero anxiety going into or coming out of surgery (which says a lot from this girl over here!). Love you both!!

Summary: They were overbooked causing me to wait alone with painful contractions even though I had a planned c-section, nurse anesthesiologist didn't keep eye on anesthesia so I felt pain the last 10minutes of being sewed up, sent to collections from B&B surgical assist even though I had insurance and paid them in full. I chose a Dr who was in network, but recently found out this third party "B&B surgical assist" was assisting, which I do not know why. This was for a c-section so be sure to ask this hospital about B&B surgical so you don't come across this situation. I've had many drs elsewhere and never had "assist" from a third party. Long story short, B&B billed me and months later (now), they sent me to collections, so I reached out to my insurance because it should have been paid and I had my insurance pay it and yet B & B surgical still will not take me off collections even though their office is paid in full. Brittany the billing at B &B surgical stated my acct is paid in full but the provider doesn't want to take me off. That is completely wrong and now collections wants me to pay them $700 for what? Had they sent me a warning to send me to collections or called me, this would have been dealt with sooner as I had insurance the entire time. As for my Dr., he was awesome. The nurse anesthesiologist, I started feeling pain at the end when they were sewing me back up so I had to tell him. This was my 3rd c-section and I never had pain or had to tell the nurse anesthesiologist that I'm starting to feel it; he said it was running low so idk why he didn't keep an eye one it. Also in the beginning when I was having contractions, they had me in a room and this was a planned c-section and yet I couldn't get epidural until my c-section and they were super overbooked that I had to wait a few hours in the room feeling all the contractions. All my other c-sections from two different hospitals were planned and I never had to wait and never felt the contractions because they took care of me right away. The only reason I went to different hospitals was because my insurance changed but unfortunately I do not recommend Estrella for these reasons above.

The staff was very friendly, their willing to hear you out and assist you more quickly if they deem it truly an emergency. Unfortunately we had to stop by at around 1:00am, which is why I'll look past their staff being unable to perform an IV. They ended up filling an arm with the IV fluid and having to redo the IV on the other arm. Regardless they helped my sister and aside from her arms she felt better.

I'm so disappointed and regrate having my 93 year old dad transported to this place, from the front desk to the nurses no one cares about your love one and their family members who are worried and like to receive good care, I had to chase the nurse to give water to my dad, all to have her getting a attitude and slam the water pitcher on the table, horrible! I hope he goes home in the next few days and will never set foot their again, I'm placing also a complaint to Medicare.

My sister arrived via ambulance due to a hard fall at home. She was dizzy and had taken sleeping meds, we were worried she had broken her wrist and or hip. They arrived at the ER and the fire department advised they not put her in a chair due to the fall. The attendee said she had too because they had no beds. They left her in the chair for 5 hours until she gave up and called me for help to come get her. It is sad how little care is shown. I know there is a wait but if someone cannot walk or wheel themselves anywhere, Has fallen and called an ambulance, Maybe don't leave them unattended for 5 hours. She could have fallen forward and hurt herself worse from the medication side effects. Very disappointed and frustrated that an injured cancer patient can't even receive proper emergency care in our area. Let alone show human decency. She couldn't use the restroom even and has an ostomy bag as well.

Terrible experience. Poor customer service. Waited 4 hours before I just had to leave. Went in to find out why I had bleeding at 5 months. They left me in the waiting room for 3 hours then in a room for an hour. I kept telling them I was a single mom who needed to pick up my kids gettin school. By time it hit 5:45 pm I knew I had top just give up finding out my answers. The only reason I went there was because my urgent care equipment was shut down and they sent me. I didn't think I would be stuck there that long for a ultrasound or I would have just went somewhere else plus the nurse made me super uncomfortable by implying I must be in an abusive situation even tho I repeatedly tried to say I was fine. I was just tired after waiting so long. Arizona doctors are the main reason I will be getting my tubes tied. I have never had a pleasant pregnancy experience with any hospital out here. Very disheartening.

Had an outpatient procedure today. Check-in was 6:00am, didn't get into the actual procedure room until 2 1/2 hrs later, but no complaints. Received great care.

Came in 7/21/20 with severe upper abdominal pain with vomitting. Was taken back to my room quite quickly. NP for Dr. Johnson came in and was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Strainght just asked me “why are you here” told her my doctor told me to head here and before i could finish she says “that doesn’t help me” very abrupt and very rudely like she could care less. The nurse and everyone else were very nice and seemed to care for my well being. NP has no business in her position if thats how patients are treated. It was so unprofessional and disrespectful I just wanted to leave right away. I felt like I was judged in some way for some reason to have been treated like that right from the start with her. Also, nurses outside my room at their stations were consistently without masks.

In 2016 I suffered a back injury after a serious fall and was transported to Banner Estella emergency by ambulance. I was in extreme pain. I heard the ambulance tech tell the nurse my blood pressure had gone down to 60 over 40. I told told nurses and the doctor it felt as if my insides had exploded. The nurses were caring and sympathetic but the doctor was dismissive. He ordered back X-rays and said there was no injury to the spine. He told the nurse to send me on my way. The nurse questioned the decision but the doctor told her I could go see my general practitioner. Which I did a couple days later. My GP said since they found nothing on the X-ray I should go to bed and rest. After a few weeks I was still in pain and if I turned slightly I would feel bones moving. I went back to my doctor she could hear and feel bones moving if I turned. She said it wasn’t normal and ordered an mri. They found a crushed T-12 and 5 bulging discs.

I used to frequent this place for Dr. visits on a monthly basis. It can get really busy. Its very clean which is definitely a plus. You can get confused by the exits and entrances and the parking lot isn't well lit. In passing it looks like a haunted house on a hill because it's so dark! The staff are not friendly whatsoever. And creates a huge deduction as far as im concerned. Customer/Patient satisfaction speaks volumes about a place. Especially in the medical field! Cheer up emoloyees....

Went to the ER at 0700 and right from the start had a great experience. Lots of negative reviews here, but I am wondering if they came when the ER was packed and super busy... not a mention of that, only what didn't happen to them. Remember, the service speed and such will go down at any business when you are overwhelmed!!! My visit was awesome. Thank you, Alice and the folks at registration, who made that part a piece of cake. Total, like 15 minutes. Back in the ER area for treatment, my nurse Deanna and a couple of others did a wonderful job checking on me, fixing up my stuff, keeping me calm, and doing their job. The PA who saw me took his time explaining the what, who, when, where to me, and was very curtious. I appreciate that so much. :) Total time spent in the ER 5.2 hours, and they fixed me up almost good as new. Will I go back, yes, 100 percent. Will i get this same treatment next time...who knows, maybe i just got lucky and showed up at a good time... but I trust the service will be the same without a doubt. Kudos to you all... fine job! Thank you...

I had a bad experience with an Er doctor here last year around this time and filed a complaint that got resolved fairly quickly but it kind of ruined my trust with this hospital until 07/20/20 when I developed a bad pain in my lower right abdomen. I contemplated going back here over and over In my head but decided to give them another try seeing how they are fairly close to my home and I had decided that it wasn’t a very good idea to drive myself all over town with the kind of pain I was experiencing. The Er got me right in, diagnosed, treated and scheduled for an emergency appendectomy the next morning. I experienced some complications due to my infection and ended up staying here three nights but the Doctor’s , CNA’s, nurses, house keeping and food service people were so friendly, caring and compassionate that I felt like I was staying in a five star hotel and overall really enjoyed my stay here with no complaints whatsoever. I was very nervous with this being my very first surgery and COVID-19 going on because no family members where aloud to be with me but all the people at this hospital made me feel as if I was family to them and that is a very rare feeling when it comes to strangers. Thank you Banner Estrella, you have earned back my complete trust and much more.

I had a hysterectomy done yesterday and absolutely every single person in the hospital were being so kind and caring. This top notch treatment started @920 am at visitor check in and ended at about 850pm with my fabulous post op nurse! Should I ever need another surgery Banner Estrella is definitely at the top of my list! Thank you to all the wonderful and amazing staff for taking such excellent care of me!

I was appalled how the staff treated my sister suffering with liver failure. Due to covid, patients have to enter alone since March 2020. She entered on a wheelchair and they wheeled her to a bed. She told a nurse she wasn't able to get on the bed. The nurse left my sister hanging on by the rail with her swollen feet dangling to weak to pull herself up. The whole ordeal was for nothing. The doctor refused her any treatment and the nurse lied about calling her primary doctor. My sister and I were so disappointed.

I found the facility to be well maintained. The staff was professional and communicated me in a very effective and timely manner. I was impressed and surprised when the attending physician showed up at 11pm with the RN on duty to discuss my test results and to assess my secondary wounds. The on-floor nursing staff were always on top of my care and made sure that I was aware of what they were doing, what they were going to do it and when they would be back to assess my condition. In other critical care facilities in the area (AB), you are lucky if they check you every 4 hours and you rarely see the actual physician before discarge. Banner Estrella has figured out how to deliver quality medical care!
