A gas stations bathrooms are more sanitized then these!! Some nurses are nice but others just chatter away. There wasn't anyone at the nurses station. What if my famil family member had an emergency going on? We called them through the speaker and they kept hanging up. We were supposedly waiting for the discharge papers. We waited 45 minutes for the nurse to come back and have no idea were ready to go! My mother sat there with the tube full of blood and the nurse NOR TJE DOCTOR bothered to remove it or anything. Isnt there some kind of people that inspect this place for cleanliness? How is this place still running? Never coming back here again and I will warn my other family members as well.

Rules for dropping off anything change from one guard to another. The list of things you can have that are given to the patient are different from what guard allows. Daughter didn't get meds on time. Won't heat up food if it is received cold. Won't let out to go to the Dentist. Patients not given enough food.

It's bad enough that they don't allow visitors at all because of COVID-19 but to have a nurse tell me they can't find my fiance and doesn't know where she is, is just plain disrespectful and cruel. And to finish it off she just hangs up afterwards. I can only imagine the poor treatment they must receive inside. They don't care about family or friend support. They act like they are gods and can make anyone jump through the hoops they place before them.

The low rating this place has received says it all. Definitely stay away if you have other options. The staff in the ER at this hospital were very rude and they make it obvious to the patients that they don't want to help you and that you're not important. They were the most unprofessional staff I've experienced. Our nurse gave me an attitude when I simply asked a question and failed to even face me when he answered me. You would figure he would make an attempt to at least hide whatever was bothering him and show some respect. Act like an adult for f***s sake. Both our physician and the Medical Director were on board with whatever show the nurse was carrying out and acted the same. I really hope the rest of the staff at this hospital aren't like this. Terrible experience. Never again will I return to this hospital. I'm not one to complain often or leave reviews on Google, but I had to post this review so that others don't go through the same experience I went through.

I've had varying experiences at this hospital. My first time there was through the Trauma bay. I received fast and accurate care. They stayed right on top of my vitals, when surgery was possible. They correctly diagnosed a broken back, something two other hospitals have failed to do since then. The three weeks I was there, I was cared for by the best. Then I've had to come to the ER on my own...horrible, just horrible...rude and stupid people. You tell them what condition you have and they didn't have a clue what some of them were or how to spell them,,these are nurses??!!??? I had one of three children here and it wasn't a good experience either. The nursery staff were great, but the rest acted like I was an interruption to their chat time and not the reason for their job. I had a tubal pregnancy they failed to catch and ended up being rushed into surgery at another hospital a couple of days later....it's a crap shoot...sometimes you get good care, other times, they act like you are pain in their walking the halls time. I have friends that are nurses and doctors, I understand they do more than what most people know, but when someone carelessly puts your time of birth at 9am instead of 9pm..and they come in at 5 am and tell you to pack and leave and won't listen when you tell them there has to be a mistake. So I had my kid at 9pm and was kicked out at 6am the next morning..but here's the catch..since the ped's department had it right, they wouldn't release the baby until 24 hours...so I had to sit and wait in the hall from 6am until 9pm so I could take my daughter home....unacceptable...totally unacceptable...

This place is a joke!! Staff clearly hates there job. They sound half dead most of the time. Can never reach my family member via phone. Everytime I call they either say the phones are busy or shes unavailable. Place seems like a homeless shelter. This place should be closed down

If you want the best for your loved one.GET THEM OUT OF THERE. They are over dosing the patients, and side by side covering up every event that could potentially leak. They trespassed me with a mental health power of attorney on my loved ones behalf when I had her write a personal statement in regards to an event where they surrounded her for making a remark and threw her to the floor injecting her with something that immediately impaired her. When I was asked to leave after 30 min visitation, they then unlawfully confined me to the premises, locking the door and calling security to provoke me into getting aggressive. Furthermore I kept my distance and in order to leave, I had to give them the documents. Legal counsel is already notified. Arizona nursing board is notified and further legal actions will be brought upon every individual that violated my moms constitutional rights and mine as well. My mom is a diabetic and they doubled her medications insisting that was what was best but her doctor outside lowered them due to life threatening symptoms in which the double dosage wasn’t necessary. They did not care about my moms life. They only cared really about the actions that was written down to prevent them all from being held accountable for patient maltreatment. When asking for names, they refused to identify themselves as tall badges were removed from self. But the ones in the nurse office had badges on.

It's the worst place.. nurses are rude and not patient at all . My father died because of them . Maybe if they were doing their job, my father would be still alive. My father complained about him having a hard time to breathe and nurses didn't do nothing about it.

Tonight I needed to visit your ER Β because of a bulging vein on my left temple. When i first walked in there was a young black man turning in his sheet to be seen. The staff asked him for his ID and he did not have one, he said he needed to see a DR and it was an emergency. They told him to just write down his name so he did. They then told him they didn't believe that was his last name and were calling the police. The young man left and waited outside for the officers. Once I was called im to be seen the staff had gotten word that the police had taken him home rather than jail. I did not get his name, but a heavy-set latino man on the staff said, "cops here are to nice, they should've beat his ass and dropped him off in the wrong neighborhood", the rest of the staff laughed uncomfortably. They then went on to talk about how they could have helped him but didn't. The amount of unprofessionalism in this type of work place is gross and I am highly offended by the actions of your staff. I just hope the owner will pay closer attention to the care the patients are getting. No one who really needs help deserves to have the police called on them.

My son was a patient in the ER on 3/11/22. His R.N. caseworker named Mark was very kind and helpful in regard to helping my son receive the care he needed. The doctor was very kind and sat and listened to my concerns for my son. Previously, my son was a patient in the behavioral hospital there and he received excellent care from his Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, and his Caseworker. We have truly been blessed with this hospital and the care my son has received there. I would highly recommend this hospital as the staff do all they can to advocate for the patient and the family.

Two experiences in two days, neither were actually helpful and none of the treatment was conducive to the reason we actually went there, the nurse, AMY, who was working the ER lobby yesterday (last night) did not listen or treat myself or my mother with any actual patience or care, and they treated the symptoms, not the problem, despite the fact that we (on the second visit), told them the problem and asked the what our options were, as my mother didn't want to be "snowed". All in all, Maryvale hospital still maintains the reputation as one of the worst hospitals in the state. I was hoping it had improved seeing as I had been in there with a few issues myself that I knew of, and they didn't even attempt to treat those.

The ER admit team that worked the night of January 15, 2023 around 6 pm were some of the rudest individuals and should not be working in an intake or admit capacity. I would fire the whole crew if I was in management. They think they can talk to anyone any way because they have an officer stationed there. They were very condescending, disrespectful and impatient. I already know the kind. They think that because they’re dealing with predominantly minorities and a disenfranchised group of people they can talk to people any kind of way. This won’t be the last of my complaint. Mgmt will hear from me.

Left there without any antibiotics which i did need. I will never walk in that scum hole again. Ive never been treated like that at a hospital.

We petitioned to have our 27 yr old son get court ordered treatment for severe mental illness (no drugs involved) and he ended up here. The communication from them was unbelievably good. As a parent we could not have been more impressed with the whole β€œsystem”. Dr Sipe was phenomenal. Very professional, and an expert at psychiatry. So thankful for her help and everyone else’s as well.

Avoid this hospital like the plague. I had the misfortune of having to stay here twice and both experiences were terrible. The first time I came, I was suffering from a severe flu that left me dehydrated, malnourished, and caused contractions. Instead of trying to help me they ran so many unnecessary (and traumatising) tests just to tell me I was starving myself and that they'd take my baby away at birth if I didn't take better care of myself... I wasn't starving myself, I was sick. I still didn't know at the time that I didn't really have to go there to deliver my daughter (you seriously can decide, even at the last minute to just go deliver elsewhere) so when the time came I went in hopes of being able to have my doctor help me deliver... All the nurses (minus one) were rude and took advantage of every opportunity they got to verbally abuse me and let me know that they didn't think I had any business keeping my own baby because I was "too young". The doctor (who was some on call doctor I had never seen before) made my delivery so much more painful and stressful than it had to be. One nurse snuck my baby out of the room and tried to convince me that my newborn was better off in the nursery than by me, when I got louder and demanded that she bring my daughter back she finally listened, but when I asked her to hand me my baby because my stitches made walking hell, she got angry and shoved my baby into my arms so rough that I basically had to catch her to keep her from falling. This hospital is not breastfeeding friendly. It is not cosleeping friendly. It is not for treating their patients with respect and dignity. ? Saint Joseph's hospital is all of those things (just saying). If you can, please spare yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

Was at the ER, wasted majority of my time all night on a bed and pretty much had to fight to get seen. spent all night there (about 8 hours) just to be seen for about 1/2 an hour just to be sent home with nothing. was not even busy and someone else came in after me and was discharged before me. I was really annoyed and would not go back.

Went there to visit fiance and was told no visitors because of COVID-19. Which ok I dealt with but when you call and you're told you have to call back because they don't know where the person youre trying to get ahold of is, is just plain ridiculous. They are not informative and dont promote a support system of friends and family.

This hospital sent me home 2 days in a row 6 MONTHS PREGNANT with an bursting cyst in my mouth that could kill me and my baby I actually went there the day before it got infected they gave me antibiotics that did nothing and the doctors said it was fine which it wasn't. It got bigger. I went back and they put a small while for huge poisoning cyst that did nothing and was not drained and sent me on a wild goose chase to the dentist and getting meds that were not helping. Couldn't even be seen by dentist properly because of swelling they were rude as hell on the phone when I called concerned tonight on instructions that was said to help me after informing them it got worse. Like me and my child could die from this I had to go to banner Estrella maternity.

I know there a lot of bad reviews but we went anyway and I can honestly say from the moment we walked in, we talked with really nice nurses. We were in 10 min after we got there. The only thing was once we got to the room, the bed they were giving me still had a dirty sheet but the nurse noticed and was noticeably embarrassed. She changed the sheet and apologized. The doctor was really nice and to the point, nurses around were also great. We were in and out in about a little over an hour. It was a really good visit and I would go again to save time.

Horrible, just horrible! Filthy, unprofessional staff, terrible doctors and PA's ... I'm sure the staff that's employed here couldn't make it at a "good" hospital, they would be fired for not having a clue about how the human body works. These people are A JOKE... I should have had the PA that worked on me arrested for assault! That's how I felt (when I just walked out without even telling anyone) I wonder if they know I'm gone yet? IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE GETTING SICKER THEN BY ALL MEANS GO AHEAD.... If not then go to a real hospital or even urgent care.

If it was possible I would give it NO STARS! So unprofessional, brought my parents in twice and they brought in an another nurse name Claudia, she was so rude. It’s seems like the workers don’t even want to be here, they where various people coming in & out and one of the workers (<~) was annoyed with the amount of people & she mention to one of her coworkers that it was ridiculous of the amount of people that where coming in to get checked. After all it is a hospital and people are going to be coming in and out. I truly DO NOT recommend AT ALL for nobody to get checked in here. They’re so rude. Don’t get fooled with the new remodel or the new name, the nurses and staff still remain the same, unprofessional with a rude attitude.

Yesterday was the third time that we have visited the Maryvale ED (twice previously for my husband and then once, most recently for my 2.5 year old son) and each time we have been seen immediately by extremely courteous and knowledgeable staff. I never thought I would find myself singing the praises of an Emergency Department, but these guys are fantastic. Our nurse Susan went above and beyond to make sure our sick toddler could take his medicine.. Our PA Michaela (not sure of spelling) was sweet and wonderful and made sure that she explained everything to us.. Thank the Lord of heaven that it turned out to be Strep Throat and not something else (worse). Every time we have had to visit this ER we have been provided EXCELLENT care.

Terrible place. Mean nurses. They wouldn't tell me why I was being held against my will. After 3 weeks I was finally released because I was found to be NOT MENTALLY ILL. The staff mocks patients, all of whom are seriously mentally ill and have dementia and/or Alzheimer's. A lot of physical violence. It's a dangerous place for any loved ones to be.

I hope I never have to go to this facility again. The place reaks of germs and infections with the way it looks. I live on Maryland and 43rd ave and i will go to Banner or John C. Lincoln before I dot the doors at this hospital again. Please clean this place, the staff is awesome, they deserve a clean facility to practice in.

I had been experiencing pain for some days then after that it got worse to the point where I would curl in a ball....i went to two other hospitals with this excrutiating pain just to have them give me for pain and kick me out...even tho the ultrasounds and cat scan showed i had a quite large ovarian cyst...the ignored the fact that it was hurting me severely. Then I came to this little hospital thinking they were going to ignore me and give me for pain, once they catscanned me they immediately started emergency surgery...i was admitted for 3 days and during those 3 days they did such a great job of taking good care of me, they showed me how to clean my wounds and they even gave me lots of gauze and medical tape and creams. They treated me so well, I had a good experience here and I hope everyone that comes here does too. Dont judge a book by its cover. These people really do care. Thank you for your wonderful service

Received what I would consider exceptional care following collapsing with cardiac arrest. Nurses were exceptionally accommodating and professional. Attending physicians were sympathetic and explained the situation in understandable, layman's terms. Until his death they were attentive to his care and never "bugged" us about visiting hours. Only hospital in valley to receive award for quality patient care.

This place is a nightmare. It has forever scarred me mentally. I would rather be dead then go back here for mental help.
