I was recommended to this hospital specially from my primary doctor because of the level of care and excellence as a teaching hospital. I have been very ill for over a month and my primary doctor was very concerned and recommended that I visit the ER as soon as possible. When I was taken to my room I was shortly met by the attending physician. I explained my symptoms, duration of illness, and level of discomfort. The Doctor treated me absolutely appallingly. He asked what I thought they should do to help me. Blatantly insinuating that I was doing nothing more than wasting his time. He told me that I should be seeking outpatient care (gastrointestinal specialist) for my issues and I explained that while my doctor has made the referral however, she felt that I needed immediate care. He then proceeded to dismiss me in a very condescending manner when I explained how Ill I was feeling. I have NEVER been treated with such lack of respect and dignity for seeking help when sick. His bedside manner was so terrible I began to cry and asked him to please leave the room so that I could leave. I felt this was my only option as he made it clear in the less than 5 minute evaluation that I was of no concern to him. This interaction was by far the worst experience I have ever faced by a medical professional. I went home still very I’ll with no answers. I do not want a generic response with an email address that will never be responded to or read. This is how your patients are being treated by the very ones that should be there to care for them. I encourage the highest person in charge to address this matter urgently.

I had a good experience with my unexpected visit to the ER and outpatient observation. I was able to check in quickly and all of the doctors and nurses were very nice and helpful. It’s worth mentioning that some of the rooms in ER are not private - you are curtained off in your own little area but you can hear everything going on for the other people. One curious thing was that I gave a urine sample but it sat on the counter in front of me the whole time I was in the ER all the way until I was moved to observation which was like 15 hours after being in the ER - not sure when or if it was ever processed. One thing not unique to this hospital was that updates to the plan of care tended to be few and far between, again that’s not terribly unusual to being in the hospital/ER. I was extremely happy when I moved to observation because the bed was so much more comfortable and the tv volume worked. Overall, I didn’t have any complaints and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again if needed.

Hospital expansion has come out very nice and is decorated very nice. Nurses and Dr's were very helpful and friendly. Clean facility, lots of parking option. Rooms are spacious, views are great from windows. They have lots of options to eat in cafeteria. Something they can work on. Main Entrance staff could use a refresh in manners, witnessed on multiple visits that they talk down or at people who come in. That needs to be corrected.

This hospital does not care about the well being of its patients. I have currently waited of 5 hours with a foot that continues to swell and is changing color with know injury. I was sitting, stood up and could walk. Told one of the workers about the swelling and discoloration change, guys says," I will put it in your chart. " without my name?," I ask. Then he dismisses me with I am busy with something else. Tell them about vomit all over the floors in the restroom, we will get someone on that right away. It has been a hour now..... blowing my mind the lack of care for just general sanitation, let alone the 5 hour wait with no communication whatsoever. I am not even the longest to wait.

Banner!!!You can't schedule over 60 patients if you only have 10 beds.I have no clue of how many beds they have but what I know for sure is that my father was scheduled to be at the hospital at 5a.m , he arrived at the scheduled time,he went for surgery at 835 a.m it is 5:28p.m 12 hrs later, the poor man that has been done with he's surgery since 11:00 a.m is still waiting for a bed. It's not fair.my mom and I have been waiting in the lobby for hours and they are telling us that they may have a bed at 7:30p.m but no promises. If they can handle all this patients don't schedule so many. Their staff looks drain due the load of patients. NOT RIGHT.

Page Hutton is an amazing RN. My daughter went in to labor with her first child at 5am. As a first time grandmother she answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. As a mother of one I had an emergency c- section and was not knowledgeable about a vaginal birth. Page made sure my daughter was comfortable and informed about her stages in her labor. Not only did she provide exceptional customer service, she was very down to earth and gentle. By the way Page cared for my daughter in one of the most vulnerable times of her life showed the passion behind the level of devotion she has in her work. Page has a conduct about herself that can be influential to her colleagues. She went above her call of duty to clean up after other colleagues to make sure my daughter’s space was tidy. Her personality is like a ray of sunshine for all to see!

Overall, I would say the staff did a great job, since my baby was born healthy and I was ok as well. The triage at the hospital I would say is something they could definitely improve…the room was a little dirty and I could hear everything going on outside the room (another women was clearly in labor). I waited hours in there while they did a test to see if my water had broken and to put my IV in. The staff was very kind, they just took a while (but I wasn’t in any labor at that point so it wasn’t a big deal). Once I was transferred to my own room I was much more comfortable. My night nurse was kind, but wasn’t super supportive because she was focused on training someone. I didn’t realize I could refuse medication and monitoring etc so I was told that I needed to go on cytotec and Pitocin. I know this is a common attitude of hospitals, but I wish deliveries were not treated like a number to be checked off where they want the baby out as fast as possible even in situations where the mom and baby are perfectly fine and would probably be better if left alone (without medical intervention) to do our own thing. I felt like I didn’t have choices and when I asked questions about the medications, I was told there were no side effects (which is not true). My biggest suggestion to this hospital and staff would be to listen to your patients and do not pressure them to make the choice you want (because it is convenient and quick), but educate the patient and give them the freedom to chose what option is best for them. I now know to do my own research and that I have the right to refuse any service. I would say my daytime nurse was the best staff there and was like a mom to me in the way she cared for me during labor. Gloria was a special gift from God!

Upon checking in today, the registration clerk Grace was very rude to my father, whom is 77 years old. She was very impatient with him. She was very loud and rude when speaking to him. She also doesn’t understand what the HIPAA law entails because you could hear everything she was saying to him like he was hard of hearing. I asked her to get the nursing supervisor or charge nurse that was on duty so I could file a complaint. She wanted to know what it was about before she would go and get the nurse. I told her it was about her and it was none of her business. She walked to the back as if she was going to get the Supervisor, after 45 minutes no one has showed up. I then called the hospital operator and asked for the administrator of the hospital, and I was told that I didn’t have to speak with the administrator, and I was told that I needed to speak with the charge nurse that was on duty to file a complaint about an employee. After Grace found out that I called the front desk and asked for the administrator, she continue to watch me while I sat in the emergency room. I would not recommend this ER to anybody.

Overall the birth of my daughter was a success, the doctors and nurses were really kind and professional. The reason for my 2-star review is because the lack of communication and transparency that I was shown. Our baby has been perfect all the way through, the problem I have is with the fact that the RN’s that run the PP pods are not being clear on when we can leave. My wife and I feel that we should have been discharged 24 hours ago and yet we are still here without a clear answer on when we can be discharged. I don’t like being in the dark when I have my new baby and I don’t like not being able to go to my own home with my new family.

Huge hospital with multiple connected buildings & parking garages/lots. I recommend making an app to guide people how to navigate. People I met were friendly except for one on east lobby front desk as I was leaving around 7pm. Funny update: next time I was there, coming out of parking garage, I saw a "banner" about BUMCP wayFinder app. See add pictures

Gave birth here and have mixed feelings about this hospital. Pros: -lower C-section rate than national average -most nurses were great (especially Ginger, she went above and beyond) -clean, pleasant environment Cons: -the tubs didn't actually have hot water. This was one of the main reasons I chose Banner -the couldn't get my dietary restrictions right even though they asked long before I was even there and had it on file -my medication wasn't administered to me so I skipped doses Overall, I had a somewhat positive experience, but I would have done things differently if I had known they wouldn't be as accommodating as I expected.

Extremely disappointed in the L&D triage nurses. They ignored my concerns, were dismissive and disrespectful, and purposefully caused more pain (too much to put down here). It took two visits in a 8 hr period before I was finally taken seriously and admitted. Had my baby hours later thanks to *my* midwife being there and being a huge advocate. Things were decent once admitted until we were sent to postpartum. Then we were treated terribly again. Also. The pediatrician we had the first couple of days was TERRIBLE. She was rude, pushy, ignorant, arrogant, and tried to use fear tactics on us with our PERFECTLY healthy baby. We even had our family Dr come check her and she said she was fine. The pediatrician just had us doing tons of unnecessary tests. These included an echocardiogram and an X-ray which both came back completely normal. We were woken up at 2 in the morning because they wanted to “monitor” her in the nursery for a short amount of time. We were not informed that she was *admitted* into the nursery and this meant we couldn’t bring her back with us, even after EVERYTHING came back normal. We were denied discharge for two more days for absolutely no reason. Seems like an insurance scam to us.

I am sitting in the post partum pod as I write this. My wife and newborn son are asleep. My review does not derive from the feeling I am experiencing as a 2 time father. My review derives from the amazing efficiency and professionalism of this staff while bringing my son into this world, and the follow up afterward. It actually blew me away how everything was handled. It's been a great experience watching how well coordinated and executed the staff are, and how gracefully they flow through sudden changes on the fly. They are so well trained, and put that training into practice, it is consistently, abundantly apparent in the whole of their work, and I am proud that I had the privilege of having this specific staff usher my son into our loving arms.

Banner sent my mom home with a “vertigo” diagnosis and Zofran and after we went to St Joseph’s hospital after going to Banner’s ER twice in a week, St Joseph’s discovered some brain lesions. Horrible place and it’s scary how much they don’t care about their patients. Thankfully my mom was well taken care of at St Joseph’s. I’m forever grateful. Never going back to any Banner hospital again!

I took my husband to this facility at 4:30 in the morning. There were like 3 people in the lobby. We waited 3 hours and no one was called back in that time. Then, the icing on the cake was when a man walked in the lobby and fell to the floor yelling in pain. 2 grown men security guards and a nurse walked over with a wheel chair and with the nastiest attitude told the man to get into the wheel chair - THEY DIDNT HELP HIM OFF THE FLOOR!!! We all watched as this man was forced to crawl on the floor and crawl into the chair. Unbelievable. I posted the video on my Facebook. This staff was so terrible. This ER cannot possible continue to operate like this. I have the worst anxiety thinking jeez, if I walk in and collapse that this is how I will be helped. Inexcusable. We left after that to go to Abrazo. My husband was called back IMMEDIATELY. Don’t give your money to this place! Everyone just walks around with their hands in their pants doing nothing. What a joke. I have added a photo of the incident, you can see 3 people standing there as the man is mid-crawl into the chair. (I blurred out a person who was waiting for their privacy)

I gave birth to our firstborn here in November. Oh my gosh, we couldn’t have had a better experience with the facilities or staff. I reflect on this day often and all the extra joy from that day came from the incredible nurses and doctors in the delivery room. I wish I could have remembered all their names. My delivery went quick and smooth. I had some students help through the process and it was fun to watch the doctors teach and the students were very respectful. They walked me through the process of an epidural & pushing, so seamlessly and calmed all my fears. This was also my first hospital stay & overnight stay. The room was great & quiet. My husband sleep on the pull out chair and had no complaints. Only thing I’d change: don’t get sucked in to purchasing the hospital newborn photos... they are wayyy expensive and they keep contacting you for months after. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I got sucked in... our own taken photos are way better anyway and I haven’t been able to get myself off their call list yet.

For starts the ER staff’s customer services skills definitely need improvement, they are absolutely rude and have no compassion for what people go through; COMPASSION not SYMPATHY. This isn’t the first time I’ve been forced to wait in the waiting room for hours and I will say I’m not pleased with the service they provide at the ER to be specific. Considering the fact that this was just remodeled you would think that they would have more rooms for patient, unfortunately they still don’t have the capacity for multiple patients. I’m completely understanding to the fact that there is a wait because there are other cases more severe than others but like I stated above this hospital lacks compassion and it’s sad. Also considering there’s a recent case where a woman was FORCED to sit in the waiting room for hours because they felt like her symptoms were not as severe as others and she died you would think they would try doing a better job to assure their patients safety and to make sure everyone’s cases are handled properly and efficiently. The only reason it’s one star is because I couldn’t give no star, or half a star.

Staff at ICU are awesome. My complaint is about the patient information desk. The lines are long when getting the pass. The COVID guidelines I feel are a little outdated. I understand 2 visitors per room. What I don’t understand is wanting to go to the chapel and being told by large Hispanic young lady that I’m only allowed to go there when I check in but I couldn’t check in because there was already 2 visitor in the room. Although I wanted the chapel not the room. The choice was go to chapel and make the other 10 family members who are here from out of town wait on me to be able to visit our relative who is in a coma. So sad. The staff member constantly yells across the room to stop people from using the bathroom. She wants people to use Emergency bathroom, which was filthy. Bottom line is you will have to choose to use your pass to visit patient, go to cafeteria, coffee shop or chapel. But when you do it means 2nd person will not be allowed to visit patient.

Most doctors and nurses are empathetic and understand the patient and family point of view and concerns. I work in health care and understand that the nurses don't make the decisions the doctors do. The nurses do not have the ability to override what the doctors have said. However the nurses are the front line and the nurses are the ones that we speak to all the time. This is your job and you do this every single day so it may seem a little bit irritating to you but as a patient and a parent this is my very first time going through this so when I'm asking a question and you look at me like I'm crazy or I should not question what you are saying to me is absurd. I don't want to tell you how to do your job however, part of the job is listening and responding to questions as a nurse. My son was left in a nursery because of difficulty breathing. He was not on a breathing machine he was not on an oxygen oxygen machine He was simply being monitored when I asked why was he outside of the room with me I was told well that's just the way that it is when I go down there to visit him with my mom the lady darn near puts her hand in my mom's face and tell her she can't come in she doesn't have a bracelet. This was my first time here this was my mom's first time here these instructions were not explained to me. Again you do this on a daily basis we do this once. Please take the time to understand that my questions have nothing to do with the respect for your job they're the concerns that I have as a parent please help me address them Don't make me feel uneasy by not answering my questions or I am asking to much. For all the nurses who helped with my labor and delivery Thank you I appreciate you.

Absolutely the WORST care. And do not even think about coming here without insurance! I’d almost rather sit in the waiting room for 2 hours and receive REAL CARE. They’ll do a 30 second half a** evaluation and send you off as if you do not matter. The doctor came in, looked at my boyfriends potentially cancerous symptoms and within 5 minutes he was out the door. No diagnosis, no recommendations/suggestions. We left in the same situation we came in with. IF YOU WANT TO BE A DOCTOR, AT LEAST CARE ABOUT YOUR PATIENTS. I won’t be back, neither will anyone else. It is no wonder you guys have such horrible reviews. You deserve every one of them.

Your parking is horrible. Especially on the west side. Adding insult to this is that you make families of patients who are spending thousands of dollars every day to stay at your hospital, pay for parking. I was told by the parking attendant that parking is free for patients not for families. That is insane. Do you expect a patient to benefit from parking in the morning and then leave at night? That makes no sense. Who came up with that rule? Also, you might want to get rid of the junk cars in your parking lot. There’s a Volvo that’s been sitting here for over three months in your parking lot. Taking up space. It’s broken down obviously and not moving. Does anyone check your parking around here? Also, you have employees parking in this lot as well, I see them, banner staff. Signs say this is not for employees but I see uniform staff parking in this parking lot adding to further frustration.

I have had the worst experience of my life. I go to Banner Heart in Mesa but while in Heart, I had to be transferred to Banner University. I have been waiting for a bed for more than 24 hourS. I may need a open heart as I have 100% blockage. Banner heart has been calling but Banner Univerity tell them they don’t have a bed. If this is the wait time for getting a bed, what will happen if I needed the transplant. I may die as my heart will get worse. I hope to hear back, I am typing this from my room in Banner Heart

My brother in law is currently hospitalized almost 2 weeks in I feel like workers aren’t compassionate I know it must be hard for the workers overwhelming I understand but for God sake if it was one of the workers family members I’m sure they would be asking many questions as they can. It’s almost like they want to give up on my brother in law but he is not a quitter!!!! Have more compassion and patience is all I ask!!!!! Also respect the people that call in that have a accent!!!!! I’m very angry about that. These are his current vitals. 0 br/ min a typo? They keep pushing palative care and basically almost want to give up on my brother in law. He has covid/pneumonia and in critical condition.

Have sat in ER 50 minutes. Daughter has puked the whole time. Worst care anywhere. Ten minutes later still in ER. If you are very sick stay clear of here. It is a mess. Filled up second puke bag. Still in ER. Hour and ten minutes and still in ER waiting room. 10 minutes later and still have not seen a Dr.

While not responsible for my father’s death, they have continually refused to provide his medical records (despite the HIPPA consent he signed while still alive for me), and are responsible for ruining the quality of his end of life. The hospital and it’s various staff (doctors, nurses, administrators) all stated to my mother and myself verbally that my father would survive and be ok. The minimal records I received from his ER visit and initial stay at Banner stated otherwise from his moment of entry into their system. They had him undergo several unnecessary procedures including open heart surgery even though it was without purpose. He was terminal. I find this discrepancy between what we were told and what was actually going on very disturbing.

Delivered my baby here on august 13th. It was the best experience! I couldn’t have asked for a better labor and delivery team. My labor and delivery nurse was so kind and made me feel so comfortable. My anesthesiologist for my epidural was very gentle and made the process a lot less scary for me. My midwife was incredible and really helped motivate me to push that baby out! The postpartum nurses were incredible too! Being a first time mom I really had no idea how to care for myself afterwards. The nurses showed me exactly what to do and made me feel so comfortable. When they saw we were trying to rest they did their best not to keep coming into our room. Overall I had an amazing experience from the time I got to triage until the time we got discharged. The staff here was so helpful and kind. they really made it such a pleasant experience for me.

I drove myself to the emergency room, I was taken in immediately, my blood was too thin due to medication that was not to be taken together,The staff pretty much saved my life.all hands on Deck! After being in there for a month, I was released and although my truck was towed due to Covid hitting at the same time, it was moved to another parking lot, not impounded, the security officer showed us exactly where it was moved to. 8 different specialist doctor's working together along with nurses and staffed saved my life. I wouldn't be here today if not for them. ✝??

Called to ask what the wait time was for the emergency room. Woman rudely informed me that they will not give that out over the phone. I asked her if she was being serious. She had hung up on me already. I don’t think that anyone is under the impression that healthcare providers like this actually care about their patients. But that was astounding. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Absolutely worst hospital experience ever. The ER did very well but once admitted every single one of the staff were horrible except one nurse. They did not communicate with each other and they don't know how to communicate with you. Patient left in worse condition than they came in. Will never ever use this hospital again. And the sad part is have used other Banner hospitals in the valley and had a great experience. This hospital needs to take a cue from other Banner Facilities.

This hospitals ER is the worst I came into the hospitals ER at 1:38am I sat there waiting for hours with people coughing non stop and I walked up to the registration desk to ask for a mask and how much longer will the wait be the staff refused to give me a mask and kept telling me they don’t know the wait time. I sat there until 5:45am that’s when I got up and left and went down the way to dignity health

My daughter went to have a minor procedure and ended up in ICU. Unfortunate circumstances..but is better and ready to go home (released by 1 dr) however another doctor ordered an MRI before release. SO...on Friday morning we were told that she was 5th in line to get the MRI so would be later in the day. Well..its now Sunday and still WAITING! No One can give us answers as to why she hasn't been taken to get it. Every time I ask a nurse they say they will check and then dont get back to us with a solid answer! It's always they don't know why or MRI is super busy. I get it..they get busy, but we have been waiting for 72 hours! That's 2 unnecessary overnight stays! We inquired about just checking ourselves out but were told the insurance wont cover it if we go without that 1 doctors approval. She could have come home on Friday..but the MRI is holding us up. We asked if she could be released and get the MRI as an outpatient somewhere else and they said "no". Honestly kinda feels like they are milking my insurance to pay for a bunch of unnecessary overnight stays. She could have come home on Friday..but the MRI is holding us up. All the doctors that have visited her say she is ready to go home. The nurses have been super nice, but this whole dragging it out thing is making me wonder about their motives. I understand she is not a priority and they are busy..but they won't allow her to get it somewhere else so we can go home so she is forced to stay overnight unnecessarily just waiting for MRI...been waiting for 72 hours to go get a test that is in the same building. AND racking up overnight stays in the meantime.

I now understand why this hospital doesn’t have great reviews. They rushed us out of the hospital 24 hrs after delivery even though my baby’s blood sugar level tested low. They did not even let me wait to see a lactation consultant even though I requested to see one. My baby apparently wasn’t getting enough colostrum from nursing and we had to rush him to the emergency hospital after we were sent home. The labor & delivery nurses and doctors were amazing. Postpartum staff were bad

I just left after waiting 9 hours in the ER to have someone look at my ribs. They were quick to get me back to do an xray to make sure they get that bill. No follow up to let me know the results of the xray or help with the pain. Go to another ER!!!

This is my second visit to this ER, While the doctors and nurses were kind, the woman handling the billing at the end was extremely rude and ruined the entire experience. I am pregnant and was already stressed and I deal with high blood pressure. You could tell she was highly caffeinated and amped up. The nurse was taking my blood pressure as she was basically interrogating my husband and I and you could see it visibly ticking up. Even the nurse had a look like “lay off, lady.” She immediately was combative when we said that we wanted to wait for the bill because I have a bunch of stuff running through my insurance right now that wasn’t reflected - my deductible is going to be covered shortly and frankly I don’t have the time to spend calling and following up with the hospital for a refund for charges that are going to be covered by insurance. She actually stormed out and yelled “you can leave” at us. The last time I visited was for my husband a month or so ago- it was going to be a 6-7 hour wait overnight so we left and went to a different hospital in Scottsdale and were seen right away. Biggest positive of Honor Health Shea is there was no rude bill collector giving us a hard time during an already stressful situation. We paid that bill as soon as we received it in the mail by the way. If this wasn’t the hospital where my doctor has privileges, there’s no way I would visit another Banner hospital again.

I had surgery (my first ever) here last year and the experience was seamless from start to finish. My Dr. was wonderful and so was the staff. No complaints. It seems as though many of the complaints here are about the ER and/or waiting room. If you come into an ER, you have to wait if your condition isn't life-threatening. Go to urgent care if you want to be seen immediately. It's called triage. And FFS, quit whining.

Mom was told to go there by another hospital, hostpital confirmed that the dr was waiting for her. She sat there for 5 hours and kept being told by staff that she was lied to and they don't do that and she waits like everybody else. Was told she was 4th in line but seeing many people taken back after being told that. Don't come to this hospital.

If there were a negative number of stars that would be equivalent to the responseand lack of response I have received from Dr. Blackstone's department. I have been trying to make an appointment since 12/30/19. They did not respond to thr referral made by my GI so eventually I returned calls. I have NEVER been on hold less than 20 minutes. I eventually asked to speak to a manager. He told me he needed to email Dr. Blackstone directly and they would get back to me. Its been three weeks work no response. The person I talked with said she could not locate either of the two referrals thr GI sent. So far I have been on hold for 2 separate conversations for over 20 minutes each. I asked to speak ro someone in charge but they were in a meeting. They would call me back. Still no response. This is lack of efficiency and care is appalling.

Unfortunately, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I live in Cave Creek and received a letter today saying that I had CHOSEN the Tucson Campus as my facility and indicating that I have an appointment today. Tucson is 4 hours away and the procedure was done in January at the Phoenix location after 3 different scheduling problems. When I called Tucson to find out why my records ended up there, I just got a recording that says no one is there to take my call. I tried 8 times at different times of day and got the same message. I tried calling the Phoenix location where the procedure was done and the person I talked to was rude and cons=descending and told me to just keep trying Tucson. She would not transfer me to Admin or Records and basically told me to keep trying Tucson , no matter how long it takes. I have had nothing but scheduling problems, no return phone calls and doctors that act like I am bothering them. I thought that Honor Health was bad, but I am going back to them. At least they can get my records and facility right.

If I could give 0 stars I would! The ER here is horrible. I have waited 4 hours and still have not been seen (currently still waiting) My pain is at a 10 and people who have come in after me were already taken back. Some of the ladies up front are rude and have no patience or sympathy for the patients. We asked how much longer and let them know we have been waiting for a long time and still no change. This is not the first time having to wait this long either. This hospital has gone way down. HORRIBLE SERVICE!

My daughter is dying an no information will be given to me cause it's by phone and I cant prove she's my daughter . And I can't visit in person due to covid19. If it was their sibling dying they probably wouldn't care either. But they are good in taking your money .

Went to the emergency room and waited 12 hrs to be taken to a room, then waited more. Was in intense pain, crying for 11 hrs. They kept saying they didn't have doctors. How is that even possible?!?!? Never coming back again. I have to say that the labor and delivery is top notch. I absolutely recommend. Nurses are wonderful! Just stay away from the ER!

Our first time coming here was decent but after a surgery here .My girl friend developed a small cough and a hard time breathing after giving birth . Instead of treating her for her pain and breathing they are taking test for covid . Which takes atleast two days to get back . So that's two days she not getting taken care of and just waiting in pain

12/17/19 Dr Mark R Tasset, MD and the attending surgeons replaced my Aortic Valve and corrected the non-erupted ascending aortic aneurysm. I choose the cow valve it should last 15 yrs if I behave myself. I was in the ICU only 3 nights, Friday I had gotten a new piece of jewelry (pacemaker) and sent home Saturday. Dr Michael Zawaneh, MD was my surgeon for this procedure, these two very talented doctors and all the experienced ICU Nurses at Banner University had me back at work within only 8 weeks. I feel amazing. Banner University took care of this ole gal and we thank you all very much The experienced staff made my journey a lot easier.

Had a C-section here. I loved my surgical staff. The postpartum care was amazing. Every one of the nurses and doctors my son had he loved. We received the best care for our whole family during our stay. My son was extremely well taken care of and they were so helpful with teaching us better techniques to use for feeding and burping since I was not able to move around too much. I would absolutely recommend any mother to have their baby here. You, your baby, and family WILL receive the best care.❤️

This review is not in regards to the care I received or that my newborn baby received while visiting Banner University for a standard delivery in October. The care was excellent. This is in regards to a bill I received for my healthy newborn girl that was blatantly upcoded. I have tried to resolve this issue through multiple phone calls through "normal" channels that have been left with delayed and no action or care taken. Unfortunately I believe healthcare fraud is in play at this point. If I do not hear back from a representative with Banner University I will contact both my insurance carrier and appropriate healthcare agencies to investigate further.

I just had a dnc Friday in Prescott. I came here after the pain progression and the symptoms of infection. When I got here the where rude that I wanted a wheel chair since I can’t walk. Then they told me that I have a 6 hour wait because covid cases are being seen first. Then as I sit and cry in the waiting room for hours the nurses tell me to stop crying. Then when I go for my ultrasound the lady tells me when they read my results I’ll go back. Then they called me for blood work took my wheel chair and forced me to walk carrying all my belongings while crying. Then when the guy drew my blood he didn’t let the alcohol dry and got it in my hole when he shakenly stabbed my arm. This place is a joke. Do not go.

I had a doctor follow up here and decided to stop by the cafeteria to eat. Selection was pretty good for lunch and I had tacos and jambalaya. Prices are super reasonable and below typical fast food prices. I’m sure food here is fairly healthy since it’s served at a hospital cafeteria. I had to stand in line for only a short while to order my tacos.

I originally was super nervous to deliver my baby at Banner after seeing the negative reviews but I was blown away. I ended up in OB Triage on 1/16/24 & the nurses were so kind and nice. Then on 1/20/24 I went in for a scheduled c-section I got pushed a couple of times but my nurse was amazing. I believe her name was Liz, and she made sure I was comfortable while I waited. My Anesthesiologist was fantastic, everything was sterile in the OR & everyone was so kind & made sure I was okay the entire time. The 1-2hr post op room was great & all my post partum nurses were so informative & helped me anytime I needed assistance out of bed. Kayla, Lacey, and Cathy do a wonderful job. Care & recovery 10/10 Food 2/10 - you aren’t going to the hospital for the food - but it’s a bummer while you are trying to recover that the food is so awful.

Had my daughter on the 29th of December. The staff was fantastic and accommodating. They were amazing from checking in to discharge. The labor and delivery room was very spacious and they had a yoga ball AND peanut ball readily available in my room for me to use during labor. The nurses helped get me into more comfortable positions when I was in transition, and for pushing. They were so helpful and supportive during my stay it was wonderful. The postpartum room was rather small in comparison, not much room to move around and the bathroom was especially small (I could hardly turn in the shower). But again, the staff was amazing and so helpful and kind during our stay. Loved our experience here and wouldn't mind coming back again when/if we decide to have another baby.

Just slightly load at night(nurses station) but I wanted the noise anyways, makes me sleep better, but not sure if other patients would. Just a nice experience. Wait in ER going on 6 hours. Virus and infection at under 20 weeks pregnant and they can't seem to help any quicker even tho I'm in pain. Update: Waited just under 9 hours to be taken back and talked to the provider for less than 15 minutes once I was taken back. I saw many families leave and go elsewhere after they checked in and waited. Had to return to the ER. This time wait was just over 6 hours. When I got out in a room and after input the bed rail up I noticed blood on the bed rail after I was placed in the room..be very careful. I had to get up and wash my hands. Nasty. That means they didn't clean it well after the last patient.

Gave birth to my first born here a little over 3 month ago! It was so amazing and an incredible experience!!!! My delivery was very fast. I really loved my L&D team (all the doctors and nurses). They were all so very kind and respectful!!! I especially appreciate my L&D nurse, Lauren, who hooked me up on the induction machine and who monitor me before and after delivery (and before postpartum floor). I have been reflecting on my baby's birth experience a lot this week and thought I give my review.

WARNING!! Don’t go to this ER, horrible service!!! Took my mom last night for a possible kidney infection and she never was admitted! We waited there for more than 6 hours and she had horrible pain!!! This is unacceptable to have an elderly person in so much pain waiting, not to mention that they took her blood work out in the lobby in front of everyone. Horrible hospital don’t come here if you have a real emergency!!! Go to a different hospital!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would. Also they have very rude staff, Don’t go to this hospital if you value your life!!!!!!

Terrible ER Room, I brought my grandpa after he had fallen on his arm and most likely broke nd we have been waiting for 6 hrs, people have come and left because of how slow the service is, I understand how emergency rooms work but not once have I had this experience at any other hospital, 4 hrs is understandable but 6hrs On an elder who fell and is sitting there in pain for the whole time for no results or even a doctor or nurse trying to update us ? And he's not very healthy either which made me worry for his health even more with this injury for them to show no empathy or compassion for anyone's situations in the room. Will not be coming back. And definitely will stick to dignity health.

Today is my 4th day in a row of visiting a family member in the ICU here at Banner-University. Patient was transferred from a different hospital for a "higher level of care." Banner Uni has a specialized machine that was needed and none of the other valley hospitals have one. My very first interaction was with the sweetest woman at the main entrance information desk. She was friendly, helpful and gave excellent directions. The staff of ICU 2B are some of the kindest, most knowledgeable people and they do a fantastic job of explaining everything and making sure myself and the patient are aware of what's happening. I've been bedside from 6a-10p every day and I just can't express how impressed I am with the doctors, nurses, and ancillary staff. They have taken an extremely awful situation for my family and made it not just tolerable but a lot less terrifying. An added bonus is the cafeteria food doesn't suck, but that's not as important as the staff and their commitment to patient care. I am so grateful for the incredible staff here.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hospital spent 6 days here(6/25 to 6/30) for surgery and infection treatment! The care I received from the staff on 6D and 7D was outstanding! Each and every staff member from the residents (Dr. Bean, Fuchs and Porter) and Dr. Holland was top notch! All the nurses on both floors were phenomenal and I should know being a licensed medical professional myself! I will never go anywhere else if I need to be hospitalized! I will never be able to thank them enough for all they did for me while I was there! Exceptional care by truly exceptional staff!

I had the worst experience ever at this hospital the ER staff is very unprofessional and have no sympathy for the patients needs or concerns I went in not being able to breath and I asked a male nurse in the front if he knew what I can do as I felt like I had something stuck in my throat preventing me from breathing I felt like I was going to faint. The nurse answered with “Were all trained here to perform CPR but that’s for dead people are you dead” after that he rudely stated there was a four hour wait without caring about me possibly fainting I felt extremely weak I was really scared and I am more than disappointed in the treatment I received. I was originally going to go to another hospital but I had an ex-colleague who works now for a Banner hospital and she’s a sweetheart I thought that I would of received better treatment as I imagined that Banner hires good hearted people who care and show sympathy as it should be. I will never step foot again at a Banner hospital. I’m literally only giving it one star because I can’t give a zero. I will go ahead and see what I can do and get that Nurses name he needs to be retrained or get another job because it’s scary to be in a life threatening position and on top of that be handled with no care or compassion. I hope this review helps those who are seeking ER care don’t come here I don’t recommend it at all.

Bariatric center Out of Banner University was not a good experience at all! Staff does not return calls for a week or 2 and the PA they have you see states they can’t do anything for you and yet that’s who you see after surgery!! Dr Blackstone’s first priority is her speaking engagements and NOT her patients! Good luck with follow up care!

First of all you all don't deserve 1 bit of a star, there should be no stars option for you so call Banner and the University, none of you medical peoples, no one in your department has no idea what family means when one of the members are there in your care. All reviews says about Banner medical staff. We even had the worst of worst experience with the Banner. You want to know what it was, you probably just going to say I'm sorry, word sorry has no sympathy whatsoever but your make money of people, so take care of them, be honest and be careful, God is watching you NO NEED TO RESPOND BACK I KNOW YOUR ANSWER

My doctor came back and asked why I was still there, i informed them of my nurses saying they don't discharge at night which is untrue. They of course will bill me for the additional day of stay. I had everything arranged to be picked up that night as my doctor said I was being discharged, yet now I missed another day of work, have no way home now and I am responsible to pay a $56 lyft ride to get back home since they messed up my discharge. completely unprofessional handling.

I drove 4 hours from the Eastern side of the State of Arizona to come down to Banner University which is rated number two in Arizona which is a beautiful thing. Once I got here I was told that was not going to be allowed to see my wife who who is to get surgery for an ulcerated tumor that's giving her complications one day ago my wife was tested for coved-19 and came back negative for ever having. I am told the only way that I will see my wife if she dying and that is determined after they make that decision and pull the plug on her not me. We only get one hour with our dying family member. That is after they pull the plug ,what happened to the family support system what happened to the mental health of the patient and the family members. What concerns me is that they have staff that come and go out of that building just like you and I they go out they go to restaurant they go to bars the intermingle with people they take just as much risk as anybody else with this pandemic yes they are trained and know how to make sure that they are using proper infection control procedures now I feel the word discernment is needed here because you have family members who work in the medical field who have worked in the medical field who understand how dangerous is pandemic is but to deny a family member the right to hold their dying wife's hand is so wrong. I feel that this creates an issue of mental health concern that goes spread I feel that we need to look at this issue a lot closer because our numbers in Arizona are going down yes but if somebody's tested negative on covid-19 I feel that this issue about seeing dying family members needs to change because it's going to create a lot more issues for people in the future how would they feel if their family member was in an ICU unit and they could not hold their hand and they died what would that make you feel I'm asking everybody out there to stand up and tell them give us the right of dignity give the patient the right of dignity to die with their family near them if it's just one person husband a wife apparent just one person is fine but nobody until they die is wrong

Appalling "care" from beginning to end in the ER. Contacted medical and nursing management who basically said nothing would be done about it. I would never use this facility again with so many other options nearby. Patients should be treated with a modicum of respect in their time of distress, Banner doesn't seem to agree or understand this.

Following are comments made from a family member which could be explained as absolutely the worst hospital experience in his life! In two words his experience could be explained as horrific and negligent. From the beginning he was neglected, and in our opinion, left to die. Neglected, he was on the verge of a diabetic coma (blood sugar in the 30’s), left on toilet for 30 minutes despite calling and ringing nurses button, wasn’t eating, losing weight, wasn’t given Glucerna for two weeks after he asked for it. The food was not meant for human consumption. His room was unbearably hot. This is not what you would expect in a hospital setting. Thank God a nice nurse brought a portable fan in for him. With four walls, no windows, and his door completely shut, anxiety set in. Blame, however, shouldn’t be placed on overworked and overwhelmed nurses. They are doing the best they can in the circumstances. To make matters worse, his doctors just stopped coming in to check in on him for four days! There’s a different person (case worker, nurse, etc.) every day handling a case, so one person doesn’t know what the other person is doing. And that leaves communication. Simply put, it’s non existent at this hospital. Discharge was another mess which took four days. Even though he couldn’t walk on his own, and therapists told him he needed therapy 3 days a week, there were no orders for physical therapy, etc. at discharge. As I look at other similar complaints, I don’t know how this hospital can get away with such abuse. Maybe this a case for the AZ Dept. of Health Services or Medicare.

Why do people work in hospitals but don't like helping anyone? Rude staff. I heard one of the nurses say that i was on something when i have never in my life done drugs. I was in excruciating pain. She basically discriminated me. So all the staff here can walk into a firepit and gobble on doggie wiener.

My labor was about 17 hours and they where amazing. Mariana Holland was with me on prenatal appointments and was a blessing she was on my delivery too. All the nurses and doctors where so kind and respectful making me feel comfortable all the time and helping me a lot with my first delivery. They make this scary experience so much easier and I will always be grateful for that. About the price. If you have a bad insurance just like me I highly recommend to pay the delivery packages (if you can) so you can know how much you are going to pay. Whit the package you have to pay pediatrician and other doctors after you left the hospital but in my case I stayed for two days due a minor complication after birth and the bill was really small.

I came to ER with horrible pain due to my gallbladder and pain radiating all the way to chest, back around 10 P.M currently 7:00 A.M and still not taken back. Front desk staff isn’t friendly, Sharon was eating a full meal as taking blood draws, which is super unsanitary. Not once used hand sanitizer in between patients. Update: currently 7:45 , still no time, but also no list? It Goes by priority, So obviously there is a list but I’m just not on top. But at what point does a staff member notice someone waiting in the waiting room area for 9 hours to be seen, and actually say something to someone. Update: it’s now 12:22 P.M Once I was taken to the back everyone in the back area has been great, informative, keeps checking in to see how I’m doing. Communicated about the surgery I’ll be getting. So I’ll be changing my one star to 3 ONLY because of the amazing staff in the back. If the front staff could of been more approachable they would have received 5 stars.

I had neck spine surgery here. My surgeon was great. The beginning of my stay here was good. Until after surgery waited in recovery for room from 11 till 8pm. Then when in room communications between day and night staff was not good. They did not control my pain and I waited 40 min to go to bathroom after pressing button for assistance. There was a few good people who work here and helped while I was there. But I was unhappy with my overall care here. My surgeon was great I feel happy about end result of surgery. Maybe hospital would be better is there was better communication

If I could rate this hospital negative stars, I would. I am so utterly disappointed. I'm not stranger to hospitals, probably have been to each one all over the Valley, Flagstaff & St. George. This one, BY FAR, is the worst we've experienced. There is ABSOUTELY no communication between doctors or nurses. They clearly have no idea how to regulate a diabetes patient, to the point they've postponed the surgery for SIX DAYS. My dad has a broken jaw, has been transferred to 3 different units, and kept pushing off surgery. While he finally got surgery on his 6th day, they have said the surgery would take 90 minutes. It's been 4 hours with no updates. We asked a nurse, and she just said "once she hears something she'll update us". As if we're not a worried/anxious family awaiting for a patient who has been in pain for 6 days. & mentioning pain, when we first got to the ER they gave him Fentanyl & then for the next 6 days only Tylenol Extra Strength. While he was moved to Tower 2 floor 7, he needed to shower, he's a fall risk patient. The shower curtain is about 5 inches too long. Where the extra length is just laying on the ground. Making it a FALL HAZZARD. -10000/10. If you have THE CHOICE, avoid this hospital at all costs. The parking is also awful, almost got T-Boned by a guy darting to a parking spot when I had the right of way. ugghh, do better.

😠 Triage nurse should find a new place to work if she hates it here so much. No need to take their frustrations out on patients. This whole emergency department is lacking human kindness/compassion. I have never been treated so inhumane by any medical “professionals” in my life. You will be so much be...

😠 If you care for your children you will stay far away from this hospital. The quality of care has gone from excellent to substandard very rapidly. My daughter and I waited 8+ hours in the Emergency Room and they did nothing to help her despite my concerns about dehydration. Stay far, far away from...

😠 Absolutely horrible experience. Looking to call and complain to whomever tomorrow and I will until my voice is heard. Not only multiple violations of HIPPA through the ER and back rooms, but completely terrorized my 3 year old. She would fall asleep and they wouldn't wake her prior to trying to give...

😠 Absolutely horrible hospital and horrendous experience. My sister went in there because she was having (what she suspected and turned out to be true) symptoms of an active miscarriage, and myself and her husband were there. First of all they wouldn't let us be near her even though she was practicall...

😠 I can't speak to the quality of medical care, but as the family member of a patient, the level of communication from this hospital is atrocious. Nurses would promise to give me an update in two minutes, and then disappear for two hours. I was unable to arrange home care the day of his release becaus...
