Fell in love with this coffee shop, price point is great for the quality of drinks given. I tried the Americano, it is very strong bold flavor with great after taste. But then I also tried the Honey Lavender Latte and I am blown away by the composition of flavor. I have never had something like this. I will be coming back to try the other drinks and teas. You can bring your own mug which it fun. I love the out door seating is shaded and inside has a relaxing vibe. Over all it was a great experience, staff was friendly. Very aroma pleasing inside the coffee house and outside next to the plant.

I've been remotely working from coffee shops for 7 years and I approve of Esso. Great small coffee shop. Feels like the local coffee place. Wifi is great and lots of outlets along the walls for laptop chargers. They have pastries but no food, so make sure you eat before you come. I'm also a huge tea drinker and their tea selection is great. The chai and matcha are one of the best in the city.

Good for people who need to study. Very neat decor and ambiance. Outdoor seating could use some fans even though it is in the shade. Quiet and peaceful spot. Zen.

What a great place! Finally a decent cuppa coffee after all the battery acid being dispensed at pretentious outlets by prepubescent hipster wannabes! Lovely and quiet, cozy and most importantly, great coffee. To add to that, this establishment has a manual Victoria Arduino espresso machine (see pictures) which is a nice touch! The gentleman who served us was super friendly and very glad we appreciated his product, even offered to make us extra espressos for free. Unfortunately, we were all so caffeinated by this point that I could not accept the offer :) Bottom line - if you want a great cup of espresso (and derivatives), Esso is the place to go! Highly recommended and we'll visit again when in Phoenix!

If you’re a person of color DO NOT COME HERE the amount of ugly looks I got from the employee and customers was sad. Also, their coffee is just “ok” but their blueberry pie was mushy and lacked in flavor

Cool spot, cozy on the inside. Solid coffee and easy parking right out front. Great outdoor seating in the breezeway when the weather is nice otherwise there’s seating for 10-15 inside.

What a great spot to grab a cold brew, love their bulletproof coffee. I'm glad John tosses in a sprinkle of cinnamon - makes it taste like a cinnamon bun. Brandon is very helpful and friendly. Glad I work in the same building as this place. I frequent here about twice a week.

Since we wanted to spend time here, we came here for coffee last week. We enjoy chit-chatting over a coffee cup. We picked this spot because one of the best places to get coffee is here. I just think chocolate overwhelms coffee, so you may think you're drinking hot chocolate. A try is worth it!

This coffee shop is my favorite place to hang and do my work. I love this place because it was so quiet, cozy, and not too crowded. The coffees and pastries that they had were so delicious. My favorite coffee in this shop was the 3-shots of espresso. I really love the coffee in this shop. The barista was so pleasant and very friendly. Highly recommended coffee shop.

They sold me a growler of cold brew for $15 and said refills would be $5 off. I came back less than a month later and refills are $15 (the growlers are now $20). I wouldn't expect something like this to last forever, but that's a pretty short time for the price to go up so much.

This place is so amazing. They aren’t pretentious AND they don’t get annoyed with my specific coffee order. Love the shaded patio and featured artwork. Its usually a 5-15 minute visit! Some of my local shops it seems take forever, especially with a line. Thank you!

A perfect place to stop by with coffee at hand and food to complement things. They make picture-perfect lattes and cute decor to add fun inside while waiting. The staff made it a very lighthearted and fun experience. You should never skip trying this coffee shop if you're in town!

First time coming to esso coffee and I got the best Barrista- Raven. Not only was he totally about making the bullet coffee I requested but made the best bullet coffee I’ve had since moving here. Great customer service will definitely be back!

This was my favorite coffee shop of the 3 we visited during out trip to Phoenix. It was nice and strong with great flavor. My wife ordered a chai latte, but typically isn't a fan of the use of a concentrate instead of loose tea. However, they did add some cinnamon to it which was nice. Overall, really enjoyed this place.

I pop in every once in a while for whole roasted beans, they are by far the best beans I have used for my espresso. I have not found anything that even comes close. My experience when I come in is always pleasant and uplifting! Thank you Raven for the excellent service!

Rare that I give a coffee shop five stars! Excellent coffee, with friendly and well-trained baristas. I love the old school lever pull machines, and the very relaxed, very zen atmosphere. I’ll be back with a good book and an appetite for more coffee soon :)

The best coffee Phoenix has to offer! I was lucky enough to be served this coffee at a restaurant, which then found the actual coffee shop. The staff is wonderful and the shop is charming and nicely tucked away in a quaint multi-tenant commercial building in a residential neighborhood. Great vibe, wonderful coffee.

I personally like traditional drip coffee, and theirs is on point! I just moved to the area and wanted to find something close to my place that offered good quality coffee; and they nailed it. They have a variety of different espresso and latte options for you to choose from, so I will be trying those next. But if anyone is just looking for that regular great cup of coffee, this is the place. The other coffee shops I've tried around the area are too bitter for my taste; just my opinion. Esso Coffeehouse I tip my hat to you!

Today I found @essocoffeehouse and stopped by for an Americano with 4 shots….yes it’s that kinda day. Very kool place and I actually enjoyed being here. The patio faces highland and is covered in vines. It’s a nice quiet place for a great cup of coffee and to relax. Light music in the back ground and quiet….it was what I needed for an hour today. Dog friendly place as well.

Visited June 14th. I was so excited to come check out this shop since it’s about 2 minutes from my house and they have a Harry Potter themed summer menu. I will say that the drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere of the shop is super cute and quiet enough to get work done or enjoy an Intimate conversation.. however the experience that we had with the barista was very very off putting. We were complimenting the shop audibly all the way up until we placed an order but even then they seemed frustrated that we didn’t know what we wanted right off the bat. Like I said, I was excited to check out their HP themed menu but didn’t know what the drinks were so I needed a minute. I told them it was my first time in but they ignored the statement and left us standing at the bar while they went and did a couple other things, which wasn’t in itself a big problem, but it would have been nice to get some recommendations when we voiced that we were unsure of what to drink instead of leaving us standing there . When we gave them our order they didn’t look up at us and seemed very put off by our presence there. However another customer, seemingly a regular, came in and they were pleasant and talkative and gave suggestions / recommendations. It was a little hurtful since I was so excited to come in and check it out. The coffee is good but the customer service was pretty bad. I expected at least the minimum and got less than that. I’m going to try to go in again and see if I have a different experience but I wasn’t thrilled by my first time there.

Ordered the Snowbird and got to try maple syrup in my coffee for the first time. It was good! Customer service was also friendly and patient with us and answered all of our questions since it was our first time here. 🙂☕️

This local coffee shop is always amazing. The brew is such a great combination of all the roast flavors and natural aromas of the bean. It’s in a perfect complex with tons of parking and covered areas for sitting and enjoying company or a book while you drink your coffee. The staff is super chill and friendly. One of my favorite coffee spots in Phoenix it’s also nice because it’s walking distance. Go check out Esso Support local!

Wonderful little hole in the wall coffee shop. Feels like I step out of the hustle and bustle of the daily grind, into my own little slice of Nirvana. The Barista's know how to pour a pristine cappuccino!

The secret is out! This hidden gem is becoming a popular coffee/tea joint in the neighborhood. It has such a community feel to it. I used to only drink Starbucks but Esso was the first place to convert me. The espresso is so dang good. They also have a variety of specialty drinks that are so tasty. For example, white chocolate coconut latte and tumeric lemonade. Also Sharon the owner is quite sweet. If you are a restaurant or shop looking to buy beans, highly recommend. Such a unique, luxury, specialty brand. Hope to see this coffee at the hotels in the area one day. The best! I can't get enough!

  • 5/5 Marina M. 4 years ago on Google
Their coffee is amazing, cozy interior and nice, friendly personal. It was a cold day, so I asked to make an iced latte with very little ice in it, and they made it exactly as I asked! Oh, and almost forgot to mention their pastries, I've got the one with walnuts, orange and cranberries, it was soft, not too sweet and very tasty :)

My favorite coffee shop. Owner & staff are fantastic. The coffee is THE BEST!

  • 5/5 Buzz Tech Pest C. 4 years ago on Google
I typically make my own espresso at home because Starbucks makes me sad and there are very few shops in my area, and those that are either pull bad coffee or I prefer different types of coffee than they serve. I was so impressed by this shop. I only popped in and out for a quick drink but their lever machine and bottomless portafilter set up made my day. Definitely not doing it the easy way and I think I can taste that little bit of extra effort. Thanks!!

Such a cozy little coffee shop serving excellent coffee deliciousness. The folks working there are so nice and will definitely add as much cream as you want. Great coffee and great vibe.

  • 5/5 Brandon S. 4 years ago on Google
Good coffee, friendly staff, cute location, great covered patio area. Need more food/breakfast options. Have been here two times now. Both times the cold brew has been delicious. They also have sugar free flavoring options which I love. The staff has been friendly, the location is nice and clean. The outdoor patio is covered and enclosed on the side with vines which helps keep it cool. This will be helpful in the summer. The only recommendation I would have is to provide more food options. They have a few patties and tamales, but with no other options next door (in the morning) either, more food options would be appreciated. Breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, etc.

Review update: new staff member John was extremely rude to me. He cursed in front of me and my daughter and kicked us out when I asked questions regarding the mask policy (because it did indeed change recently). As much as I like coming here I can no longer recommend this cafe because of this recent experience.

  • 3/5 Amanda R. 4 years ago on Google
The coffee and tea here are very high quality and the atmosphere is chill and laid back. That being said, there's nothing that makes this place particularly special, except for maybe their really nice copper antique espresso machine. I've been here a few times and have never recieved exceptional or friendly service. The dim lighting also seems to match the mood of management and their baristas. Hopefully there can be some improvement to make experiences overall a bit better.

I really enjoyed the coffee here. Being my first time I got one of the specialty coffee with local honey. It was good and not to sweet. Barista was friendly, wifi worked really well and the space was clean and had plenty of outlets. Including a nice outdoor area to work. I look forward to purchasing some beans and trying it at home. It's not super insta-worthy, but it may be one of my fav places to work for that reason because it's got nice quiet music and a professional and efficient vibe.
