What a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning- delicious doughnuts, $15 bottle of mimosas, live music on the outdoor patio. My family loved everything about this place! Popping in on a Sunday morning, we got the table with swing chairs on the back patio. We ordered delicious doughnuts and the $15 bottle of mimosas Sunday deal. For two hours, we sat listening to live music and playing Connect Four. (They have many board games inside and even a pool and fussball table.) Service was excellent!

Came in for breakfast on a quiet Saturday morning. Food was absolutely amazing! Ordered the Crispy Dog Breakfast and a black coffee, took a little long for it to reach my table but it was definitely worth the wait. Two spicy-sweet sausages wrapped in fried corn tortillas and covered in scrambled eggs, salsa, and a shockingly spicy dragon sauce. Never had anything quite like this but I'll definitely be back to get it again.

This is absolutely one of my new favorite places! I love everything about it! I’m a huge dog lover so that already peaked my interest in going here, but it’s also a very cute and unique place. When you walk up to the front patio there are all kinds of places to sit with different types of furniture, including some porch swings, and it’s pet friendly! They also have some fire pits for those chilly nights…when they do come around. Inside is just as fun, maybe even more fun! You walk in to a room with a living room type feel with cool pictures all over and board games to play. Then there’s a cute little “gift shop” area across from the counter where you order your food, with neat little souvenirs and doggie stuff including treats for purchase. The people working there were very nice too. The dining area is nice with the tables and chairs behind other chairs where people can sit at a bar as well. The back of the dining area has cute dog pictures all over the walls and they have a foosball table and a pool table. Now that I’m done describing the actual restaurant then onto the food…it was super delicious! My husband and I both got The Dough Cristo, which is under the brunch portion on the menu and it was so yummy and flavorful! We enjoyed every single bite! We also got a side of potatoes which were also super good, and my husband got a Bloody Mary and he really enjoyed it! On our way out we decided we couldn’t leave without grabbing some donuts for dessert later at home. I was so glad we did because they were also absolutely delicious! I definitely would recommend this place to anyone, especially if you love dogs and definitely if you love good food!

Wonderful hotdogs and donuts. My daughter and I ordered a couple brats, a donut, fries and a bananas foster shake. They were all excellent. I'm going to have to go back to try other things on their menu. So many things look so good.

Excellent food. Pictured is an Olive and an Oliver with french fries, their amazing Passion fruit iced tea, and a Big Blue Van (on tap!). Always a great experience here!!

I’ve been a huge fan since I found the food truck in about 2011, but this was my first time to the brick and mortar, and Short Leash did not disappoint! The spot is an awesome vibe in itself, very family friendly with games and stuff. I had the Monika - all beef dogs wrapped in tortillas and bacon then fried 🤤 and a draft root beer. My kid had the chili dog, I had forgotten they serve the dogs on naan bread. Both meals were amazing! The service was great and so was the price. I can’t wait to get back!

I've been wanting to try the famous hotdogs here for a while and my cousin highly recommended it so we went for a family lunch. I loved the atmosphere and great decor. It was too hot for us to sit out on the patio but I'm sure it would be great to have a meal there. Since it was my first time there I wasn't sure what to order so I went with some recommendations and it was good I might go back to try something else too we had fun and was full just from one hot dog and fries! Yes it's huge for me at least lol

Definitely recommend stopping by on fri-sun for brunch. They have such a unique menu ranging from hotdogs, donuts, cocktail, coffee, and delicious appetizers. Recommend bringing a friend or two because it feels like a large portion for sharing! There's indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect when there is a community event happening or if you want to bring your pup. Everyone around was super friendly too.

If you're looking for a great lunch spot to get some meat in tube form, this has got to be one of my new favorite places. I had the Cubano and absolutely loved it. Careful with the fried pickles here, they're on another level compared to the usual places.

This place was delicious. I had the cubano, a flight of mac&cheese, my sidekick had corn dogs. I had to buy a chocolate chip donut. Mmmmm... I highly recommend. Visiting from the COLORADO

One of best brats I have had at a restaurant. I ordered the Oliver. Definitely worth it. We also added fried green tomatoes and an order of poutine fries. The service was quick and impeccable. The atmosphere was chill and relaxed. You can find a comfortable seat in a lounge chair, at a table, or at the bar.

A nice casual place to grab a quick bite, whether brunch or snunch (snack-lunch). There's enough veggie options too. The atmosphere is really friendly, fresh and bright.

Nice decor, good atmosphere, the hotdogs are good, great welcome and they agreed to stay inside to eat even though they were due to close in 20 minutes... What more could you ask for !?!

A wonderful, laid back atmosphere with fun takes on hot dogs. The owner was super personable and provided wonderful service. The lemon pistachio doughnut is the best doughnut I’ve ever eaten!

Support local businesses, good food & good experience. I live in East Valley, visiting my peeps in Phoenix. My first experience of this place was in the form of a food truck in 2011, in the east valley. Short Leash was hired for my sister in law wedding. Happy to see them still around, cheers & enjoy.

WHO-da-THUNK hot dogs, real dogs, and craft donuts could go together so well? Certainly not me! Short Leash defies convention. It’s an anomaly in need of no explanation. In a word… or three, uncommon, atypical and very unexpected. The hand crafted donuts are some of the most toothsome, “road-less-traveled” treats I’ve ever eaten. Aside from the donuts, my go-to FAV is the crispy dog breakfast: 2 spicy dogs wrapped in crunchy tortillas on a bed of scrambled eggs, tomatoes and avocado. Before you order, know that this spicy dish is just as hot going IN as it is coming OUT, so, consider yourself warned. Weekend mornings are best for a quiet and crowd-free cup of coffee, donut, or breakfast. Short Leash sits in an odd location on that curvy stretch of 7th Ave that intersects with Indian School Road. So, if you’re tooling down the road too fast, you may miss it. Pop in when you’re on the block and give ‘em a try. And like me, you’ll wanna put Short Leash on your “Short List” of TOP go-to eateries.

Seriously awesome take on unique hot dogs. Tons of options, including vegan and vegetarian options. Some of the best fried pickles and cheese curds I've had.

Ok I am a chicago guy and my buddy wanted hot dogs. Tells me about this place, so I order the Chiago dog and he gets the pretzel dog with cheese sauce and mustard. Honestly the first bite took me to sweet home Chicago, even though it comes in a pita! The pretzle dog was awsome as well! When you are in the mood for a good dog stop on in with your own dogs as it is very dog friendly!

Had a great lunch here on a Friday afternoon. Loved the Bear. It was even better than I expected. Sitting out back on the patio was ideal. Cozy space to chill, appreciate the weather, and enjoy some fantastic food. Finished it off with an orange pistachio doughnut. Wow! Service could not have been better. Oh, and there were 33 of us in our group! Everyone raved about their shakes, too. Thanks so much to Kat and Brad for welcoming this mammoth bunch of hungry kids. They enjoyed playing pool and lounging with the nice selection of games, too. I'll definitely return.

Short Leash was very very very tasty, they had live music and there is a few walls dedicated to Fur Babies. I had the Poutine and my Buddy had the Chili Dog and they were both just enough to feel like you ate but not feel stuffed, which would not be the case if we got the French Fries because they looked huge. The only issue we had was finding the door??? The back patio was shut down and no one came in or out while we were being curious monkeys, but we found the door and really had a great experience. I would like to take in a beer one evening on the back patio if I'm in Phoenix on a Friday or Saturday.

Food is creative and delicious, and the patio is a wonderful place to sit when the weather is nice. They had live music that was enjoyable and not too loud - we could still carry on a conversation. Parking wasn't great, but there were neighboring streets we were comfortable parking on.

I did not know that they served coffee and donuts for breakfast. The donuts look all custom made with some fun flavors. I had one that was sugar on top and raspberry jam in the middle. It was awesome, especially the real jam instead of the fake sugary red goo you normally see. The patio out back was very shaded and pretty, perfect for breakfast or brunch now that the weather is cooling off.

Always a great time while you're here! The food was delicious and flavorful as always and the chicken dog was plump and juicy. You could feel the love Kat and Brad have for their food, their business, and their guests in everything that they do. I can't wait to go back to try even more of their amazing menu! Did you hear they do burgers now too!? 🤔🤯🥳

The food was very delicious. Even bringing it back to the office it was still hot and fresh. The Mac and cheese is my favorite 🤤. Beautiful eating/lounge area. Definitely recommend.

Split the 'Lady' with a friend and it was delicious! It would definitely be ordered again. The whole menu looks good. Great drink selection for beer and liquor. I will be back for sure. Live music is great. But not when the guy playing the guitar is that loud. Our table was not even that close to him and it was hard to have a conversation some of the time.
