Went to this place today for lunch got the rib tip plate my ribs were so tough you couldn’t even chew them, cornbread Extra dry potato salad you could tell it was old but the yams were good and they forgot my greens! Needless to say if I want some southern home cooking or ribs I’ll be making it at home and not wasting my money here! 2 dinners $48 and some change all to be thrown out! And the owner or manager tried to argue with me over the phone while smacking ribs in my ear and asking other employees to try them and trying to convince me that they wasn’t old! Ribs should simply not me so tough that you can’t chew! ! All I wanted was a replacement which he offered afterwards! Maybe he should just listen instead of trying to justify that the ribs are not tuff to your customers! Needless to say I won’t eat here again he ruined it with his negative attitude for me!

This little place is a bit hidden. I drive by there all the time and happen to find it by looking on here for barbecue. I'll start with my favorite. As you can see in the pictures I ordered many things and I didn't have any company so I brought many leftovers home. The BBQ beef ribs were tender and meaty. It seems like not many BBQ places have beef ribs anymore. Everybody seems to focus on spare ribs. It was a nice BBQ sauce on the ribs not too sweet but yet a bit of sweetness. I also ordered a half pound of brisket. It was a little juicy and the BBQ sauce was perfect not too sweet. The fried chicken was good it was on a special with a shrimp. The gumbo had a medium spice kick to it the sausage had nice flavor. There was also a good amount of shrimp in there. And something you don't see often, they had three flavors of kool-aid. I had grape. That was an awesome surprise. I could tell when I walked in this place they were serious about soul food. Everything I had you could taste the home cooking love in it. End of the things I brought home with me when I reheated that brisket it was just as good as when they made it in the restaurant. I suggest ordering a half pound of that and bring it home with you on top of whatever you eat there.

Most definitely not soul food. Idk how they have 4 stars right now. The pictures should speak for themselves. The greens were just okay. NO seasoning whatsoever on the chicken. The yams tasted like carrots, no sugar or cinnamon. Just wasn’t worth it at all. Never again!!!

First off the food here reminds me of sitting in my grandmother's kitchen and watching her cook everything from scratch. I thank you all so much for giving me a piece of her back with the food that you make. Simply delicious down home southern soul food cuisine. I will definitely be back

This was not good! I ordered 2 pounds of rib tips for $32 and gave a tip of $5. Before I paid I asked if I could taste a rib because it was my first time there, he let me taste it. Im from chicago and really wanted some good bbq. Ive lived in AZ for almost 5 yrs and the food is not all that (we all know that) but this place was rated really good. Anyway The rib tip was pretty good and it wasn't fatty or burnt. When I left out the man made a joke that wasn't funny....he told me " next time i go to Scottsdale to ask them for a sample." ( I rolled my eyes). I would gladly do that and they would gladly give me a sample because the culture is not cheap and they know the quality of their food. When I got home my order was all burnt ends!! I was disgusted. I couldn't even eat them they were so big and burnt. Never will I support black business again! ..high prices cheap quality poor customer service. Famous Dave's, Dickies bbq, RUDY'S or Anywhere! DO NOT GO TO off Da Hook BBQ. They will not be open for long unfortunately. If anyone from off da hook is seeing this go back and get a better business advisor. Throw the burnt ends away DO NOT SELL THEM!!!

I’m convinced the west coast doesn’t really know soul food because this place is NOT it. I originally went for brisket which was out, so I ordered the fried chicken dinner with macaroni and cheese, collard greens and fried okra. The batter on the fried chicken was way too thick and flavorless (I shouldn’t have to drown my food in hot sauce for it to taste like something). I’m pretty sure the fried okra batter was the same batter they use on the fish, however, that too was bland. And the macaroni and cheese was awful, I’m southern and used to baked macaroni oozing with cheese…this was not it! OMG…and the corn muffin was dry and disgusting…there’s ways to jazz up jiffy corn bread mix I’m just saying. The only thing worth finishing on my plate was the collard greens. From now on I’ll definitely have to check the audience giving the reviews because this place definitely wasn’t 4 stars worthy.

Mmmmmmmm the rib tips are my favorites they have so much meat... the candied yams are sweet and yummy and the macaroni and cheese is cheesy... The shrimp was fried perfect too.. I will definitely be coming back here.. the customer service was awesome also very polite with hospitality it was a Thursday so it wasn't super busy but the lady who worked made sure she accommodated me and my family she went above and beyond to check on us and bring us anything we needed... will be coming back for sure...

All the flavors of a backyard to go plate with none of the relatives. 3 meats 2 sides 20 bucks. Hot link, rib tips, fried catfish, fried okra and yams. The link melts without chewing and held all the flavor it was cooked with.

What a great find! Authentic feeling and authentic tasting southern restaurant. The owners even opened up early for us the day we walked in. The restaurant itself is very tiny with only 5 booths. It’s a little dated but gives it that dive feeling. The fried chicken was my absolute favorite. My aunt could hear the “crunch” from across the room. So crispy! The only disappointment was the ribs. They were well done and not the best. The sauce however was delicious. Give this place a try and support black operated businesses!

Great food and fast delivery service. Prices are reasonable. Food was still hot and delicious when it arrived. Might just be my go to spot for “soul food “

I’m sad to say myself and another customer were sitting outside and the hours need to be adjusted online. Y’all missing out on money. We all want to see what the hype is but can’t. I will say as I was leaving this review a gentleman answered and said they will be open at 1 PM even though the hours are stated as 12PM.

Let me start off by saying I wanted this to be so good, and I was unfortunately disappointed. We ordered online, and while there were definitely some issues with that process (not totally the owners fault) it arrived relatively quickly. The hot links were okay. The Mac and cheese was basically just yellow noodles. The red beans and rice really need some more time to cook. The fried chicken had practically no flavor (though admittedly, the meat was cooked to perfection. Our waffle was soggy, but the chicken tenders were good. Looking at pictures, I don't think what we received was the best work this place can do. I might consider trying it again sometime, but they have to get on their A Game to get me back.

No matter where I eat southern food should it be in the states of Alabama, Arkansas. Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee. They all taste different because they are all done different. Yet I enjoy eating in each state when going through there. But I always enjoy southern food no matter which state style of cooking it comes from. So I enjoyed eating at Stacy's as a good place in Arizona.

A hole in the wall, that's what you want! Food was great! I got the bbq pork ribs with some veggies, my friend got the fried fish, it beats the boring fast food. I would definitely come back.

Food was amazing but I believe I was over charged. Paid $48 for a 10 piece chicken family meal which according to their menu in the restaurant, includes 2 sides for the amount of $33.50. I tried to explain but was told the large sides are extra. Delicious food but won’t be back as that is just too much.

I was curious about this place and finally got to drop by yesterday! I wanted to get the oxtail but didn't know it was Weekends only, so my partner and I got dinner combos with a peach cobbler. It took a while for our food to arrive but it was fine sitting inside of the restaurant waiting. I had the BBQ ribs with fried okra and mac n cheese. It was superbly done. The sauce was great with some heat, the ribs were done well and soft with great flavor, and the sides were amazing too! The peach cobbler was really great and I wish I ordered 2 since it was hard to share. Decadent with soft dough and baked peaches. My partner got the catfish dinner which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Our food was hot and tasty, with great breading and frying. Highly recommend this place and looking forward to trying more of the different dishes. Make sure to tip them well!

We ordered the smothered pork chops, and the catfish plate. We got fried okra, collared greens and potato salad for sides. For dessert we had the banana pudding. I didn't get pictures of the good because we ate it too fast. The food was fantastic. If you can't get back home for a good home cooked meal, visit Stacy's. They do not disappoint! The staff is friendly and the place is clean and cozy.

Came here a few days ago with my kid 30 minutes before closing and i was attended with great customer service. Our food was served in a timely manner and had awesome flavor. I ordered the catfish combo with yams and greens. The man attending us was super friendly and made our experience great. He addressed me by my name and came up with a nickname for my kid. I appreciate the service and quality of food seeing as we got there before closing

I needed a feel good Friday. Gizzards were me and my grandpa's thing. He passed away, and yesterday was his bday. I didn't get paid until today. Not only are the gizzards home style they taste just like my pops. I didn't realize they sold Kool-Aid. I went to purchase it. And my pops was looking put for me because they gave me a free drink. God is Good! So is this place. I hope you take the review and run to it. Thank you, young sir, I needed that...

I ordered the 3 pc red snapper meal with okra & greens. I love how the greens were drained & didn’t make my fish & okra soggy on the way home. The corn muffin was soft & not too sweet. The okra seemed hand breaded & fried perfectly. The greens were not too done like most soul food restaurants around here, they still had a bite(went around noon). I also appreciate how the sides don’t have any meat in them as I’m pescatarian(only eat seafood). I will be back soon!!

OMG. Ima Philly girl and I have been craving that hole in the wall soul food place in Phoenix and I stumbled across this gem. The wait was like a half hour but I didn’t mind because how good the food smelled. I got a catfish dinner with fried okra and Mac n cheese and a whiting meal with collard greens and Mac n cheese. A side of potato salad and banana pudding. This place is fire I wanna try everything on the menu.

The atmosphere is a little dated. Small space and the restrooms were not available. Small plastic forks 🍴 are provided, you must request actual dining utensils. Now the food was excellent. I had the smothered pork chops with fried okra and candied sweet potatoes. That was like eating food made with love from my grandmother.
