This is the best Korean BBQ place we have ever been to. We have been to a few Korean BBQ places in the Phoenix area within the last year. When it came to the food, we ordered the spicy pork tenderloin, pork belly, and beef short ribs. The meat was delicious, the side dishes were so fresh. And the cherry on top is that the service is so fast and the staff is AMAZING. I can’t wait to come back.

One of the few Korean BBQ eats in Phoenix, this place exceeded in every aspect of customer service and quality dining. Our server was May, she immediately sat us, gave us menus, took our drink order and was back in 2 minutes. We ordered food a few minutes later, they set up the grill in front of us, and gave us all of our sides including kimchi + zucchini, rice, lettuce leaves, sauces, garlic cloves, among a few others. Meat cuts came out with onion slices. It was so nice to cook it ourselves, the food was great! The employees were very friendly and attentive, Jose checked in with us as well as the manager. The only thing that kinda threw me off was the decor, I can see the walls have major cracks and the upholstery on the seats had duct tape on them, probably from holes/wear and tear. It's easy to miss tho if you don't look around much. I would DEFINITELY come back to eat here again and will be recommending it to anyone I can!

5/2/23: excellent service and food. I had the salmon udon which was perfect. Udon was delicious with the flavorful soup. Our waitresses were so fun and zesty. Almost like family. Great atmosphere.

Great experience. We came at 830 and didn't want a bbq table so sat in 10 mins after arriving. Tteok-bokki was requested, along with gyzoa, and various sushi dishes all.for sharing. I wanted to be fat so also got spicy short rib stew. Sat and ate everything with another hungry human. Took the stew home because my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I will be back to try the bbq. If you enjoy authentic Korean cuisine you will enjoy this spot.

The staff was very inviting and friendly. They seem to make everyone feel like family. The food was delicious and very fresh. Home cooking in a restaurant! I would highly recommend this place to anyone craving good Korean BBQ.

It sure has been a long time since I last dined here. I couldn't remember what they served and how the food tasted. It was one of those days where I was flowing with whatever and went with my instincts. My friend was feeling spontaneous with me so we went for it. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious 😋. No disappointment here or even a single complaint. We were greeted and seated immediately. The menu was extensive, and there were a lot of options. We love Korean food. I'm still learning about the names and the ingredients associated with each dish. So it took us a few minutes to look up each dish to see if it was what we think it was. I live for the grilling part of Korean food, but my friend wasn't really hungry. They required at least 2 orders of raw meat. I didn't want to pay for two orders because it was a little too expensive. So I decided on bimbap with grilled meat in a hotstone bowl and japchae to share. Side orders were out of this world for me. It tasted so good that we asked for seconds. No regrets. We will be returning in the near future. By observation, I felt like this restaurant was authentic and closer to how Korean food is prepared in Korea. It was an experience and friendly service. Happy eating 😋

Great restaurant! We would come back again to eat again because it is that good. The service was fantastic! Our food came out within 5 minutes and the servers were great. My husband got a stone bowl for his Bibimbap and his food was still hot until the end. I enjoyed eating mine as it was packed with vegetables. Would definitely reccomend trying out their food and if you feel like barbecuing on your on, they have tables that has grills on it.

If you're looking for a "homey" korean restaurant, this is definitely the place! Everything I had was delicious. I wanted some comfort food, so I got soup (Soon du boo with pork). Came out hot, which I love. The service was excellent as well. They were very welcoming and checked on me frequently to see if i needed anything. The waitress I had was very humorous and very sweet. Edit: I'd also like to add that I finished all the side dishes. I especially never finish kimchi when I typically go out for Korean, but this place's kimchi was very good. Everything was gone by the end of the night. Really good.

Best authentic Korean food we've found in Phoenix. Kimchee is delicious. Kalbi is tender and flavorful and a bit pricey but worth it. Soon du bu (tofu stew) was the best way to end the dinner. Bulgogi is a generous portion of marinated meat. We added lettuce and it came with fresh garlic, peppers and soy bean paste. This is the real way to eat kalbi. Put the piece of meat on the lettuce and add the garlic, jalapeno and soy bean paste and enjoy. The banchan -Korean side dishes- were plentiful and delicious as well. Restaurant staff were friendly. You can ask for Korean bbq tables where you cook your own meat or sit at a regular table. They also have Japanese entrees, but we were craving authentic Korean food.

I can't believe I've been going to this place for 21 years and this is the first time I've made a review. I love this place so much. Takamatsu has the very best Korean BBQ and you even have the option to cook it yourself if you so chose. This kimchi is amazing and seemingly this is the only Korean restaurant I've been to that serves radish kimchi. You gotta try this place everyone I've ever brought here has loved it. What I had ordered here, as seen in the photo, was Yuk Gae Jang which is a soup with vegetables and beef and is definitely not as spicy as it looks, broiled mackerel and tteokbokki which is a stir-fried rice cake. The sauce in that dish is amazing and it is a bit spicy but to me it's not as spicy as it looks. The reason why I like to order this much food is because I love having it the next couple days. It always makes me happy to know I have leftovers of this. Let me also not forget the thing which is most important to me and that is the quality of service. These professionals are very good to you once you walk through their door it is as if you've walked into their home. They take excellent care of you the whole time you are there and they send you off with such a warm fairwell the whole experience of which brings you back again and again.

Great service and delicious food!

okay, so when I arrived to the place, I'll admit, I was a bit concerned. The outside did not do the inside of this place any justice. The staff was warm and welcoming and kept checking on my table. The food was outstanding and it was fun cooking. Go for the experience if nothing else.

The main dishes were packed and hearty. Side dishes were fresh and prepared well. Drinks were crisp and refilled quickly. Seasoning was on point. Service was kind and attentive. Chef was feeling it tonight.

Update: They know us by now and make sure our food is prepped correctly. Which is wonderful since we love their food and don't want to go anywhere else. If you have food allergy, stay away Told them not to put eggs in soup due to allergy. Got a take out, there was egg in it. Called them and told them that we asked for no egg. Went to exchange the food and noticed that there was small sliver of egg piece in the soup again. I had the talk with the owner and he's trying to make sure food is done right. We still went back after a while because their food is good.

Best service! Bester atmosphere! Amazing team full of the sweetest workers! Most definitely the place to be for Japanese and Korean food!! 10/10 recommend

Excellent atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Although short staff at the moment and closed Tuesdays and Thursdays the place is excellent. It's mixed Korean and Japanese cuisine. Meat was well marinated. I did not try the sushi, for my next adventure. I would come back. Kalbi was excellent. Bulgogi was delicious. Kimchi was great.

Excellent place to eat. Atmosphere is relaxing. The owner is very welcoming and funny. Always cracking jokes with his guest. Don't feel like a customer. Food is excellent. Servers and including chefs come out if not cooking to see if you need anything "Extra food or refills". I will come here often. The women and I enjoy this place.

Great place! Giving a high review. There were "glitches" in the service and restaurant but I will not comment as this was just my first visit. They also did not have sushi however they are hiring a sushi chef so I welcome the change to come. They worked very hard had nice servers and staff. The food is great and reasonably priced. I would love to return.

My favorite Korean restaurant in the valley! I've been coming here almost 20 years. The food and service never disappoints. The portions are good and always consistent. The broth and flavors are deep and never too sweet or salty. This place serves very authentic and fresh Korean food.

First time in - but not the last! So friendly and helpful are the staff. The bulgogi was our favorite. Short ribs were good as well. Fun adventure in cooking and eating out!

Everyone was so kind they even try to seat people far enough away from each other when not busy. They helped with cooking and showed how good combinations are. They showed patience when ordering and packaged one of my meals when leaving. Whenever I felt like I needed something they would check on us every so often so we never felt forgotten. Great place! Food is delicious definitely a favorite place I will come back to.

Just ate here for the first time with my hubby. Wonderfully kind and attentive staff. This is not an all you can eat bbq but it’s not needed. Meat portions are plentiful and reasonably priced. Side dishes were also very good. The grill cooks well. We will be back!

Korean BBQ... quality stuff. The bill was fair for the quality of food. They have a lot of good reviews for a reason.

We sat at the sushi bar, the chef was super friendly and made us some extra rolls that were amazing! Cheap happy hour and great variety. It was recommended to us and and we will continue to recommend it. Don't let the outside scare you away.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and service here. It has been hard for me to find delicious Korean food that reminded me of my mom's home cooked meals, but I think I've found it here. The spicy squid was delicious, fresh and filling - served with 7 side dishes complimentary to my meal. I will be returning with my mother for her review!

I can't say how much this place means to me. I go about once or twice a month with my girl and baby. They love my child and and take care of us just like they would their own family. Took my buddy and he wasn't eating it the right way, and they just about fed him his own food, good laughs all around. The food just hits the spot. There's not a more humble place to eat in my opinion.

WE have been there for dinner and it was bit busy. We waited almost 20 min to get our table. Once we got our table we ordered our choice. Lots of side dishes with great portion. All of their food items look nice and taste great. We enjoyed our meal specially grilled items. Server was kindly attentive to their customers for any needs. Nice location, lots of choices, parking available at site.

Yummy inexpensive Korean food, probably the best korean restaurant in the valley. Not to mention the service is always so great, they make you feel like a part of the family! Definitely will be my number one place for my Korean food cravings.

Amazing food! True Korean food here! My auntie was Korean so it is very hard to find good Korean food compared to hers! This was perfect and hit the spot! Ba bimp bop yesterday was so good! My daughter and I could not stop eating it! Very friendly service and a nice relaxing atmosphere!

Love the food

I have been coming here for at least 5 or 6 years. I started bringing my kids here a few years back and it is now their favorite restaurant as well. The service is beyond excellent and the food is still the star here. The sushi is amazing, but the Korean bbq at the table is our favorite, we get the bulgogi and cow tongue. It's delicious! Compared to other Korean bbq places the pricing is a steal. I really can't say enough good things. Just give it a try and you won't be disappointed.
