Since moving from Seattle I have been looking for some excellent Thai food for over a year. This is now my "go-to" place with amazing, fresh, and authentic flavors that I haven't had in over a year. I did a call in order for carryout and I was greeted by amazing service on the phone. After making my way there, my order was ready and I was again amazed by the great customer service right when I walked in. I felt as if I was already a regular customer and they had known me for a long time. The food was spiced perfectly and the fresh vegetables complemented the dishes. I'm just mad that it took me so long to find this gem of a restaurant with great employees! If you're looking for great Thai food, what are you waiting for!?!

The food was piping hot and fresh. We ordered some spring rolls and shared. I got a Thai coffee and if you like coffee, it’s the way to go. Lastly my wife ordered noodles and I got the Seafood Avocado curry. Beat my expectations and our server was a sweetheart.

You don’t have to be the biggest to best! David killed Goliath with a sling shot and some pebbles!! Chanpen is doing just that! Small atmosphere that kills all the competition. The Pad Thai is to die for!! I mean the noodles are cooked perfectly, full flavor and the spicy is authentic. You can get 1-5 spice level three is just right. The garlic chicken wings will have you licking your fingers!! (Hold the garnish on the wings it only gets in the way.) Spring rolls golden crispy and pairs with the best homemade sweet and sour sauce. Must try this place! It’s worth the drive for togo. Again small and cozy, the best food 🥘 ever! Ask for Allen!

I love coming here. The food is so good. For lunch, we started off with Spring Roll appetizers. After we polished those off, my daughter had Veggie Pad Thai, while I opted for the Drunken Noodles with chicken. All so good! We had a surprise treat. Chanpen served us a scrumptious dessert, deep fried banana slices served with a light maple syrup. Fantastic! If you like Thai food, you'll love Chanpen!

Delicious Thai food! We’ve eaten Thai food at several places in the Phoenix valley, and this was truly outstanding! We got the pineapple red curry and pork fried rice. They also gave us complimentary fried bananas! 6/16/22 Update: My husband and I have now eaten at Chanpen Thai a handful of times, and we think it is the best Thai food in the valley. In addition, the atmosphere in this place is so welcoming and neighborly. The guy at the cash register handed me a bottle of water today because of the heat. I love this place.

Wow! I have never been more impressed! We found this place on google maps, we were craving Thai and saw this place had some good reviews. Well we get here, and the entire parking lot is full! It was a little wait to eat but worth it! We ended up getting lunch specials and they were quite affordable. Came with wontons, a spring roll, and a side of rice. I got the broccoli and carrot stir fry with chicken and added fresh garlic. It was incredible. It was so good, it ruined me for all of the Thai food we can get back home. I will 100% make this my first stop anytime I come back to Phoenix. My husband got the curry and said it was the best damn curry he’s ever had in his life. And then, at the end of our meal our server brought out ice cream! I won’t give away the taste of the ice cream, but it was such a phenomenal way to end the meal. 10/10 highly recommend.

My wife and I have dined here twice. I’m happy to say both times have been excellent experiences. The food is the best having just the right amount of spice, portioning and flavor

We ate here before our flight. It's close to the airport and has a small parking lot. I ordered the sweet and sour stir fry with pork and it SLAPPED. If we lived in Phoenix, this place would definitely be a regular spot for us. Highly recommended.

Thai soul food and great people, super nice spot for take out or dine in experience. Fresh , flavor full and made me feel like family. Ice cream was so creamy and good. Big portion no skimping on the rice.

Fresh, savory, with excellent service. We had Cashew Chx with level 3 spiciness and level 3 green curry level. So good! Don’t try any place else because this place is it! Dine area is small but you can always take it to go! Yum!

Exceptional dining spot! You wouldn’t guess by looking at it, but this place is a dream come true for any authentic Thai food lovers. The place is small and does not look fancy by any stretch of imagination. Instead it gives the coziness and intimacy vibe of best ever home cooked meal. The service is impeccable! Kind, engaging and helpful in every way! The food is to die for! Can’t wait to return and taste more of their amazing menu!

Small seating space but great in taste , quality and quantity. Pocket friendly too. The best Thai restaurant in Phoenix area. Shouldn’t miss this restaurant if you are here. Staff is also very friendly! Love to dine in again at this place!

This inconspicuous white building with barred windows and a run down parking lot is actually a hidden gem for authentic Thai food.💎Everything I ordered was DELICIOUS and each dish had it’s own distinct flavours. Service was exceptional too. Here’s what I ordered: 1) Spicy chicken wings - the wings itself were fried perfectly and had a nice crunch. The sauce tasted like sweet bbq sauce, but had a nice spicy kick 🌶️ 2) Drunken Noodles — GREAT wok hay with strong basil aroma. Very tasty 3) Penang Curry - super creamy & peanutty. Ordered spice level 2 which was pretty spicy for me, and I eat spice! 4) Tom Yum Soup - was like I was teleported back to Thailand. So so good and lots of lemongrass flavour. Presentation was 10/10 too, it was served in this burning (literally) hotpot 5) Thai iced tea - very smooth, deep flavour and not too sweet👌🏼

Only five tables restaurant, but the food was definitely amazing, the best Tom Yum Soup that ever had, meat combination is my favorite. Very reasonable price and good portion served. Will be back for sure. Ps. Green tea ice cream was a blast of taste!

This Thai Food spot is off the chain! It's definitely the definition of a whole in the wall food joint of South Phoenix AZ, to me. The food is always fresh and hot to order, the portion is more than filling, and the price is lovely, I actually saved some money eating with them! The service is great, they always make you feel comfortable, like so comfortable you could kick your shoes off and kick your feet up. (NOT LITERALLY) The homey feeling is what I am talking about. Fantastic, fantastic atmosphere, great people, diversity runs in their veins and you can tell everyone loves their job. This place is default mood changer, preference changer and a game changer. Love this place!! Thank you guys for being here. Yall rule.

Went there because of a suggestion from one of my husband's co-workers. We took some friends who also like Thai food. Definitely not a place to go for looks. But we all enjoyed our food. I chose a vegan pad Thai. All of it was very tasty except for my overdone tofu. Our friends went with spicy dishes and enjoyed them very much. My husband enjoyed his fried rice. And we tried two appetizers- the satay chicken and tofu. That tofu was perfect! As a surprise at the end they gave us some fried banana for dessert. We all agreed it was interesting but probably would have tasted better warm. The food was very fresh and tasty. Our friend wanted to get some Thai beer but was told that it was only available at their other restaurant. Our waitress was attentive and yet made sure we had our privacy. We got there for lunch at about 1:00 and the place had quite the amount of people waiting by 2:15!

The customer service is out of this world!! I will go back simply bc the staff make you feel at home. Try the green tea ice cream desert it’s so delicious! We got the egg rolls, The eggplant stir fry, Pad Thai and the chili wings. I could be wrong on the names.. I enjoyed everything but the Pad Thai, it required a little to much fixing to make it tasty the way I like it. It was a little dry. The Egg plant stir fry get it spicy 🌶️ to your level with f course but it’s so refreshing with all the fresh veggies and have an amazing flavor! The wings were my absolute favorite!! The chili garlic recommended 10/10!

Don’t judge a book by its cover is all I’m saying. There are 2 locations one of which is in a regular storefront and then the one on broadway that definitely looks a bit worn down and was the one we went to. We ordered the fresh shrimp rolls, coconut shrimp, and the chicken & shrimp pad Thai. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was great as well! One of the bests Thai milk teas I’ve had as well! We don’t live in Phoenix but when we come up again we will definitely return!

As advertised. This place is as authentic as it gets and very fairly priced. The pictures don't do it justice. If you are on the fence about getting Thai food today please don't make the mistake of passing it up. You won't be disappointed. Pictured is the pad Thai, complimentary soup, and yellow curry.

First time here, tried a few different things. Started with Thai toast and spring rolls, both very nice. Main courses we got wonton soup, pad Thai, and Massaman curry. The first two were lovely, but the curry was easily the best I've ever had. Most Massamans are somewhat diluted or weak in flavor, this one was amazing. At the end they gifted us a banana ice cream dessert dish which was very good as well. Along with excellent service throughout, it's very easy to recommend this restaurant.

Food was amazing, service was great, place was a tiny little dive (not for snobs) so pickup orders recommended because you might not get a seat. We got lucky after work on a weekday. We had the curry puff special, crab puffs, yellow curry with chicken, pineapple red curry, and ice cream. Everything was a good heat level (as requested), tasted fresh, served promptly and piping hot. Our only complaint is it isn't next door to our apartment.
