I stopped in here 2 years ago before catching my flight home, and just HAD to visit again. They have been on a wait both times I've been, but WELL WORTH THE BRIEF WAIT. Their chicken mole was fantastic! Along with the friendly and efficient service. Would highly recommend this place if you want no frills high quality authentic Mexican food.

Celebrated my dad's 81st birthday here today and we couldn't have made a better decision to dine. Sunday and around 1 o'clock in the afternoon - you can expect the wait to be 45 min to an hour. It's worth it. We both decided on the two person meat platter and selected steak, pork lion and chicken breast as our choice of three meats. Liver is the only other option. When our meal finally arrived (about 20 min) it was GIGANTIC! Enough for four people, really. It had sauteed onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, lettuce and topped with fresh cilantro. Everything was cooked magnificently. Especially, the pork! It was juicy, tender and fell apart when you picked up a piece as a direct result from being cooked to perfection. You can get either flour or corn tortillas. We got flour (only one) but like the dish...it was huge. Beans and rice included. Worth mentioning - don't go crazy on the chips. First basket is free...each additional is $1.50. You can order additional plate of beans and rice for only $4.00. My dad & I both agree it was the best Mexican food we've ever had.

Was my first time here. Service great, Ruben was my server he did an amazing job. Green chili was tasty, rice and bean wasnt really good but cant complained about it. I wil comeback.

Great local restaurant that serves Guadalajara style Mexican food. The cheese crisp was delicious; Seafood soup was full of shrimp and fish; the green chile enchiladas are some of the best I've eaten. There is a wait so plan accordingly

I hate to leave a bad review, but what happened to this place?!? It used to be very good, but we ended up embarrassed and apologizing to our out of town guest the entire way home. The chicken mole enchiladas were too sweet, undercooked, and the chicken was canned or old? My sister and I both ordered the green chicken enchiladas and they were disgusting. We couldn't eat them. They were way undercooked and the chicken was weird. The worst part is that our waiter claimed that he told the owner, that she ate some of the chicken from our used plates, (what?) and that she said it was good and she wouldn't remove the 2 FULL entrees from our bill. I don't think he ever told the owner, but if he was telling the truth, and she stood by that horrendous food and didn't bother to come speak with us then it's easy to see why the quality of food and service is not good anymore. It's too bad because this used to be a really great place. If ownership doesn't raise their standards, patrons are going to stop coming. Please do better or shut the doors. It was a good run while it lasted.

To me this place is the best Mexican Mexican restaurant in AZ. If you want cheap Mexican food and bland. Go to Don Jose's. Comedor Guadalajara is best Real Mexican food around. Great food and Great beers on tap.

Food and service is always great! The only inconsistent part is the wait. Always a long wait, either it's a party of 2 or a party of 10, you will be waiting. Be aware the hours online are wrong had we known the correct open time of 10am we would have been their earlier! We showed up at 1030am and it was already an hour and half wait! Thankfully the food is consistent and always Delicious 😋

This was my first time at this restaurant, and let me say it did not disappoint. I had the shrimp ceviche and a very delicious michelada. I will be returning to try more items on the menu. This hidden gem is a must try!

The food here is delicious, best horchata in town but the wait combined with limited hours makes it hard to visit here on a regular. The online hours say on Sunday the restaurant opens at 10:00 I arrived at 9:50 and was given a 30-45 minute wait window at 1 hour of waiting I went inside to ask how much longer and was told I would be seated next. Party of 1 took 1hour and 5 minutes to seat. Once I was sat at a table in the back it took the waiter 10 minutes to come and get my drink order and about 20 minutes for my food to come after I ordered. Well the food is worth the wait it’s very hard to sit outside during the month of July in Arizona. I think customers and the business would benefit from having an online check in option especially when short staffed to ease the load and give people the option to wait at home when the wait time exceeds 1 1/2 hours.

The food was delicious and amazing! Definitely worth every penny!! The tampiqueña dish was very generous when it came to serving size! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Simple but delicious place and the only Mexican restaurant I will order enchiladas from. Some things to know, this is a VERY popular spot, you will wait 30-60 minutes so plan around that. Other than that everything was great, service was eh but thats because it was PACKED even 30 minutes AFTER they closed. I recommend the green chicken enchiladas if you are on the edge about choosing.

Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas are delicious!!!!

There is always a wait.... Know that before you go. Food is very good and the service was good. I just had a bean burrito enchilada style. I highly recommend it. Chips good be a little better and we didn't get a refill on them but that was ok. Servers were pretty busy that said they were quick with our food and the drinks were refilled. Try it and you will like it.

I went here this past Saturday second attempt because they are so busy. The wait time was maybe 20 minutes which they estimated 45 so that was pretty good. The food was delicious! I see some of the reviews say it has gone down hill but I think it was great. The beans were perfect and the rice excellent. Everything had great flavor and our server was busy but did great. My husband and I love this restaurant! We learned about them through work and have been hooked since then. Our favorite is the green chicken enchiladas with the rice and beans. I also really enjoy the Pina coladas and margaritas!

This was a busy place, even for lunch, for a reason. Prices are very reasonable, has a lunch menu, and the food was very good. It’s a big place, and wait time was expected but moved pretty fast. Service was very good.

Authentic is what I always look for in Mexican food and this restaurant is that. I love the shredded beef tacos and enchiladas red and green. Oh and let me not forget the Micheladas are so good!!!!.. The service now is a hit and miss! I feel more lately the servers have been rude but I’ll let that slide and hope they have a better day the next time we visit.

First visit to this eating establishment. You go through the line, similar to a cafe Rio or chipotle, but the food is very unique. They serve tacos or enchiladas; the biggest difference seems to be that the enchiladas are rolled and have sauce on them. I had the pork meat in an enchilada. The enchilada sauce was good, but overpowered the flavors in the meat so I mostly tasted the sauce. i like the variety of toppings. I loved the glazed terra-cotta bowls the food is baked in and you eat out of.

Very authentic Mexican food! The service was excellent, the food is fresh and well seasoned. Many choices of Mexican dishes to from. As a complimentary appetizer soup was served with your chips and salsa. Great Mom and pop restaurant. Don’t be fooled by the outside of the building because what is on the inside is totally different. EXCELLENT!!! Keep up the good work!

The food was so good, I had to shoot a few rounds from my 30 30 when I got back to my car. Loved it. Long wait times, but it was worth it. The inside was so beautiful. It reminded me of my drug dealer uncle's place. The Micheladas looked good too. I didn't have any though. Me and my gorgeous wife had the fajita for 2. Served with actual and real tortillas. Like grandma made them.

This place has good ratings and that’s why we decided to give it a try. Not the best neighborhood and security at the door was a cause for a heightened state of alert but we wanted to give it a shot. Service was ok and food was just ok. It seemed like your standard Mexican food and nothing special. Probably wouldn’t come back.

Good food reasonably priced good service

I found their lunch dishes to be much better than the breakfast burrito (chorizo and egg).

While the wait staff was friendly and attentive, the food was only ok. On top of that they nickle and dimed the heck out of us without warning that they were charging us for every little thing. We've spent less money at a stakehouse and enjoyed it more.

Great quality of food and their micheladas are amazing. All the staff was following CDC guidelines, tables were distanced, and capacity was limited.

Great flavor on food and great customer service

I visit this place at least once a month for work lunches. They know us. I always get the Green Chili Burrito, Enchilada Style. They've got great raspberry iced tea and Horchata. We've only had to wait twice, but their outside waiting is Mocha covered and has misters. There's a greater that holds the door for you. The stewardess takes you to your socially distanced table. Great spot south of downtown.
