Mixed
feelings
about
this
place.
It
was
a
favorite
back
in
the
day,
but
ever
since
the
pandemic,
it’s
missing
something.
The
food
is
certainly
very
fresh
—
you’ll
always
see
one
of
the
staff
bringing
out
freshly
prepared
trays
and
keeping
the
counters
clean.
But
there
seems
to
be
far
less
variety,
fewer
serving
trays
than
before.
General
Tso’s
chicken
has
been
replaced
by
corn
on
the
cob
and
macaroni
and
cheese.
The
Mongolian
BBQ
grill
is
no
longer
in
service,
and
their
soft-serve
ice
cream
machine
has
apparently
been
decommissioned,
replaced
by
4
tubs
of
chocolate
and
chocolate
chip.
Another
“Long
Covid”
vestige
I
wish
would
go
away:
those
styrofoam
plates
and
bowls.
Final
complaint,
apparently
they
had
issues
with
unscrupulous
customers
walking
out
without
paying.
Now,
you
pay
up
front
when
you
enter.
That’s
totally
OK,
nothing
out
of
the
ordinary
about
paying
before
eating
at
a
buffet.
What
I
don’t
like
is
that
they
don’t
immediately
run
the
charge
and
give
you
back
your
card.
Rather,
they
keep
the
card,
show
you
to
your
seat,
and
while
you’re
away
serving
yourself,
they
bring
your
card
and
receipt
in
the
tray
and
leave
it
on
your
table
for
potentially
some
other
unscrupulous
customer
to
walk
away
with.
Anyway,
the
food
is
OK,
the
staff
polite
and
efficient,
but
this
place
is
just
not
as
good
as
it
was
pre-pandemic.
Fun
Fact:
This
building
was
inaugurated
back
in
1978
as
an
El
Torito
Mexican
restaurant,
no
bull!
