Wow!
I
just
came
back
from
five
days
of
training
at
Arizona
Soaring
and
I
couldn't
be
happier.
My
instructor,
Shad,
really
has
the
knack
of
teaching
glider
flying
and
making
his
students
comfortable
and
relaxed.
Their
training
gliders
(Schweizer
SGS
2-33s)
are
perfect
for
student
learning;
the
setting
is
great
with
very
few
days
lost
due
to
adverse
weather;
their
approach
to
primary
training
is
structured
and
consistent
across
instructors;
they
have
a
focus
on
safety;
and
they
have
a
strong
relationship
with
an
FAA-authorized
examiner
who
understands
their
approach
and
their
aircraft
and
is
himself
able
to
set
pilot
candidates
at
ease.
While
I
came
to
AZ
with
quite
a
bit
of
glider
training
from
my
home
club,
I
suspect
their
approach
will
work
just
as
well
for
students
with
no
experience
at
all,
or
for
students
wanting
to
add
a
glider
endorsement
to
their
powered
pilot
certificate.
The
commitment
of
their
instructors,
tow
pilots,
flight
line
staff
and
office
staff
is
amazing
-
they
will
go
the
extra
mile
to
make
sure
you
are
set
up
to
succeed.
Success
isn't,
of
course,
guaranteed,
but
their
success
rate
of
their
students
passing
the
primary
checkride
is
phenomenal.
As
a
side
note,
I
didn't
take
any
of
their
demonstration
rides,
but
judging
by
the
reactions
I
saw
from
their
customers
while
I
was
there
the
aerobatic
rides
in
particular
are
amazing.
If
you're
on
the
fence
I
would
say
go
for
the
aerobatic
deluxe
ride
-
well
worth
the
$
and
it's
gotta
be
a
thrill.
