Small spot tucked into Medford strip mall. Ramen and sushi were surprisingly good. Shop in the area semi frequently and look forward to another visit. Small adult beverage menu and a variety of other options. Vegetarian friendly

Shinsei is a nice sushi spot. It can get pretty crowded at lunch and dinner, especially on the weekends but the food is good and the portions are fair. We like to try different rolls when we go. My husband enjoys the yakisoba as well. The staff are efficient and not overly friendly but pleasant. The restaurant is clean. The parking area can be hectic with REI, Trader Joe's and Petco just across from them. We like to go here fairly often

We had the Eagle Eye, Amazing, and Spicy Tuna. The Eagle Eye was my personal favorite though the others were delicious; the Amazing was a close second. I don’t normally stuff myself, but the food was too good. We also had the spring rolls, poppers with spicy tuna mix, and miso soup. It was the best sushi I have had in a long time and the appetizers were right up there with it. Highly recommend.

We normally really like this place, but our last visit (1/14) was just OK. The rolls fell apart and were a mess to eat. The potstickers were ok, but not as good as usual. There seemed to be some dynamics happening with the sushi chefs too, which wad odd. We'll definitely be back, as it's convenient to shopping, but we came on an off night, which was a little disappointing. Normally very good.

This place has the smallest parking lot you have ever scene. Their service sucks they don't answer questions well but they surround you and rush you. So don't tip them. The food sucks I make better top ramen then this place. I believe they put canned mushrooms in my food I felt sick all day. I'm so glad I didn't try their sushi.

Our favorite sushi place in Medford. Great prices, great staff, and always able to get a table. It’s a staple for my daughter and I. We love the menu options and kids menu. Fits very well for her as a picky eater and for me being someone who wants all the raw fish.

I am beyond impressed with the staff and service at Shinsei Sushi in Medford, OR. My boyfriend has strict gluten restrictions which can be difficult when we want sushi. Over multiple encounters, the staff have been very careful to keep any components or sauces containing soy sauce away from his food, and today when we ordered online and indicated that part of the order needed to be gluten free, they substituted real crab leg meat for the imitation crab. Until today WE didn't even know that imitation crab contained gluten, but it is FULL of gluten-containing binders. The fact that the staff were so knowledgeable and conscience of his dietary restriction needs was incredible. They even provided Tamari for him, which we always have at home because many places don't carry it, but it was extremely thoughtful of them to do so. I highly recommend Shinsei Sushi to all patrons, but especially those with dietary restrictions.

Little pricey, but hands down some of the best Ramen in town and Da kine size! BROKE DA MOUTH!!! Sushi looked amazing being prepared but will have to go back to give honest review on it. Atmosphere was relaxing, very clean and welcoming (we have 2 babies btw). Definitely recommend

The food was extremely bland, the ramen was watered down, the sushi was falling apart and was super basic, almost tasting fake. And ended up costing so much more then it was worth. I don’t go out to eat much, but when I do I want to eat something delightful, especially when taking family members out for their birthday. I’ve eaten here in the past and enjoyed it, and without breaking the bank, however this recent experience has left me with such lacking, and a big hole in my wallet, that I will never be a customer here again.

My wife and I have eaten here since they first opened. It seems that this year they really have pushed hard to do a good job by putting a lot of good quality food on your plate. And charging a higher price for it. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch. I always think twice about coming here for dinner because the prices are way higher in the evening for exactly the same thing you get a lunch. That being said the bento box is basically $30 in the evening is a grand affair with a great food the only problem is if you come in at lunch it's $10 cheaper!. This obviously must be working for them because there was a waiting list 40 minutes deep to get in in the evening some more power to them.

Fishy salmon and eel today. Crab mix was over powering in all the rolls we got. Rolls were too big around stuffed with crab mix. I have eaten here many times over the last few years and today was a huge bummer. Would pick another sushi place over this one.

Delicious sushi veggie roll and excellent spicy salmon roll. Nice size portions of sashimi. Good food! Only the rice was a little undercooked but good. Worth a trip!

Seems like a chain...maybe a smaller one Feel like I've seen the same name in bend. By Hayden Hawthorne amphitheater 🀷 solid food. Sushi was good. Wouldn't say it had the exotic vibe. Very traditional. And reliable. I did not try any ramen etc. I go to other places for non sushi. Situations. Definitely a choice u won't be mad at. A nice plan B. For all my "I got my sushi spot" types, if u need to feed the deep down cravings for rolls & such.. βœ…

I would drive miles to eat this yakisoba! I’m doing this review as I finish my food, cause I would hate to forget to give them a shout out because their yakisoba is impressively DELICIOUS! 10/10 flavor and 10/10 in service

Came here for dinner. Was given four menus - one was very thick and heavy. Ordered the yakiniku off of the laminated single single sheet menu. A man brought the mizu - perfect temp, leeks could be cut smaller. Hostess brought salad. It was okay; dressing tasted good but was grainy and bright orange. Same lady brought main entree and it was inedible. The meat tasted old and reheated. None of the main dish had good flavor. I ate some because I was hungry. She brought white rice cuz they were out of brown. Ate a lot of it to fill up. This restaurant is expensive, so I am very much disappointed in the quality of the food. The hostess was very nice though.

I ordered the Golden California roll and the Smoky Vegas roll. I have to say hands down the Smoky Vegas roll is the best sushi i have had so far. Smoked salmon cream cheese and avocado and the whole roll is deep fried. It is a roll of deep fried deliciousness. I can hardly wait to go back and try more sushi rolls there. The servers there were also very helpful and friendly even though I was only getting take out.

Well what can I say about atmosphere? It’s the typical Covid precautions our Gov set in place. The food and service are top notch. Not a lot of bells and whistles but great fish. Not sure on the Ramen as I have not tried it. All my fish and rolls have been delicious. My last β€œhand roll was soggy so I just ate the guts. Hand roll 101- make it and give it to customer quick. Needs to be crunchy. The chef made my hand roll my first visit and it was proper and crunchy. I will be back to enjoy more sushi! This is my favorite place now. Thanks Shinsei for hanging in there while Kate Brown tries to ruin the food industry as we knew it. πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Delicious ramen. If you sit at the bar the sushi is prepared right in front of you. The staff are all friendly and even though there was a line at the door we were able to be sat almost immediately.
