Delicious coffee beans! I love the simple and eco friendly packaging. King coffee does an excellent job roasting their beans. The beans are gorgeous, you can see that the natural oils are preserved during the roasting process and the aroma is delightful. I drink my coffee black, no creamer needed, as the coffee is robust, rich and flavorful. I recommend you go inside their beautiful shop for a cup and get some beans to go, you deserve it. Xoxo

Besides the wonderful coffee, its the people that work there that makes it so special. Mike, Dakota, Mattie and Jack are simply the best. Both my wife and I feel they are part of our family. Great atmosphere and customers we have met are dear to our hearts. Highly recommended

It was the first time my daughter and I had been in there. We both fell in love with this place immediately!!! 🥰😍 Everything on the menu looks so amazing. We couldn't make up our minds on what to order. Luckily Alexis was super friendly and informative! He suggested a few items and we ended up getting more than we could eat. My daughter ended up taking her 🥗 home and I took my burrito.🌯 They still tasted amazing when we ate them later that day! I love the pastries here and of course the coffee! ☕ Even though it's pretty far from home we will definitely be going back! THANK YOU ALEXIS! 😊

Hello, I am genuinely commenting on this because I really hope it improves and I want to see this coffee shop thrive. The espresso here is so bitter and low quality. I really think if this place is going to call itself a coffee shop, then the priority should be producing good coffee. I’m just disappointed because I spent 7-8 dollars on this latte that I just cannot finish because it was that bad to me and I love coffee. It doesn’t take that much to please me but I know good coffee and I probably had my worse cup from this place. A lot of people who live around the shop knows about this coffee shop and they say the exact same thing “it’s a cool coffee shop, but the coffee sucks.” So I would really suggest figuring out what the issue is so people like me could enjoy your coffee again. I’m pretty sure it’s the bean quality or maybe barista experience, whatever it might be but it’s definitely an issue.

Really nice coffee shop for a quick bite from the pastry case and a delicious drink. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and my wife is happy to have a local coffee shop that serves Maya Chai. The interior has been remodeled and is open, bright, and welcoming. This is my new favorite coffee shop in North Phoenix.

I recently discovered this place and absolutely LOVE it. However, over the past few weeks I have shown up at 6:30 AM twice, and it has not been open. I have waited 5-8 minutes each time and still it wasn’t open. One time a few weeks ago, the lady working even looked at me attempt to open the door, I wanted a few minutes, and she never unlocked it. There’s no reason to post online & on your door that you’re open at 6:30, when you are in fact not. I will be taking this place off of my morning coffee rotation as it always turns out to be a complete waste of time. If you want good coffee, this is your place! If you want good coffee at 6:30/40 AM, this is not your place. Edit: I appreciate the response. However, it’s not a reasonable request to ask me to give you time to address it when I never actually had contact with a worker since this problem arose. Like I said, the coffee is wonderful, but people need to know the issues. This place is out of my way so it’s a huge inconvenience when I don’t get coffee and have to go somewhere else. People who may be in the same boat should be aware of that. If you want coffee past 7am, highly highly recommend this place.

Went here today for the first time! Pros:Absolutely love having a local coffee stop. The staff was super friendly despite the long line. Pastries were being swapped out fresh when I arrived at opening. Hand made speciality coffees made on the spot. Trendy, wood, earthy vibe. I got an iced coffee with pumpkin cold foam and it was delicious! Cons: The wait. Small town vibe but one girl working the register and making coffees by hand so def have a few min to spare. Seating was cramped, a couple less tables or more compact seating would be a game changer here Overall I loved this place and am totally going back.

Finally stopped into this cute coffee shop with my work colleague and what a treat. Had lunch and it was great. Ordered half sandwich with potato salad. Can I say some yummy. They also have good breakfast menu including protein pancakes and avocado toast. Not only was the nice staff nice they were quick. They do also have a nice selection of bakery items too.

Stumbled upon this coffee shop. Service was fast and barista was very friendly. I ordered a cold brew and matcha latte. The cold brew was very strong and had a bold flavor. The matcha latte was delicious, a bit grainy at first but after I mixed it for a bit it was absolutely perfect. Wish I lived closer to go back.

I had to leave a review because I was truly overwhelmed by this place. I was out driving and I swung in. The latte was fantastic the atmosphere and the girls behind the counter were superb. While I was there I noticed they roast their own beans this made the latte a boutique experience. I highly recommend this neighborhood place and I'm so happy I swung what a great find. Definitely a must check out!!

Great little local spot, fun rewards program, delicious hot and cold drinks, yummy sandwiches! I have brought my laptop here a couple of times and they are really friendly and have a community feel. The music is not too loud so I was able to take a Zoom call. I was there for 4 hours today as my AC unit was down and they were super welcoming and understanding of my situation. The other patrons were very helpful/friendly as well!

Come here from time to time. The lattes are good and they always have creative seasonal drinks. They have some food too which is also tasty. Got the acai bowl for the second time. It's delicious and filling!

I had a wonderful time at King coffee this morning at Union Hills and 32nd St.!!! I had a cold coffee with caramel flavoring and it was blended perfectly!! It wasn’t too sweet and it was just the right amount of caffeine!! The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were there for the breakfast North Phoenix Chamber event and I would highly recommend going back to king coffee for any social event or even to take a break!! The inside sitting area was clean and comfortable. They also have outside seating but right now with these temperatures it’s way too hot. I can’t wait to go back again

I have never been here but I was in the area and wanted to try a new coffee place. My iced carmel latte was delicious, I loved that I could taste the coffee instead of just syrup and milk. The coffee was also smooth and smooth and not overpowering overpowering or bitter. I also ordered an acai bowl with no strawberries, this was the only reason they didn't get 5 stars. Though the acai bowl was delicious but the man making it made a comment before making it " Seriously? No strawberries? What?" And shook his head as if requesting that there be no strawberries was the weirdest thing, how could anybody ever ask for an omission of an ingredient. He said something again when he handed it to me. Just very off putting.

Great service and coffee. Just moved here a few months ago so I've been looking for a good coffee place. So far this is my favorite.

Nice little neighborhood spot. Nothing special or fancy. Solid coffee.

  • 2/5 Ben C. 1 year ago on Google
The worst matcha latte I’ve ever had. You can tell just from the picture that there’s little to no actual matcha in it (no green color when compared to something green). I essentially paid $5+ for a cup of oat milk. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I did not try their coffee, so I can’t comment on that, but still will not be returning.

My husband and I walk down to King’s with our dogs on a regular basis. Their lattes/cold brew are wonderful and their blueberry granola waffles are incredible! The staff is always friendly and even offer water bowls for our pups when we’re sitting outside. We’re lucky to have this coffee shop right in our neighborhood.

I've had consistently good coffee at King Coffee. The place is comfortable, wifi is fast, the orders are right the first time, and the roasts are generally good for lattes as well as straight black coffee. There seem to always be people here, so there is a sense of talking, having a good time, or getting work done on a laptop. Stop by King! You'll have a relaxing time.

Excellent coffee, good service, ok atmosphere. It opened promptly and we were served immediately. The facility had some interesting local art on the walls. It was a little small and not a lot of comfortable seating.

Wi-Fi is solid. Lots of outlets. Great place to remote work. Drinks are great. Good food selection too that isn’t just baked goods. Wish they were open till 5 and I’d totally spend the day working here.

It was a good day for a comfy, quiet, dim coffee shop. I enjoyed the fact that this shop felt more relaxed and lived-in rather than bright and trendy (although I love those ones too). The corner worn leather chair was so nice to sink into and read for two hours. The shop is right across the street from PV Community College so I liked seeing how many customers seemed to be regulars. It's a great study spot with both comfy seats and tables. This matched the chill vibe that I was in on this drizzling AZ fall day.

Love all of the local art for sale! The oat milk chai and americano are both yummy. Lots of seating and quiet enough to work on computer. They’ve got a book rack and game area and a community board.

My family and I decided to stop by before church one day for a coffee and quick breakfast. Very inviting atmosphere and loved the different paintings on the wall. The coffee and food came out quickly. It looked and tasted great, the kids even enjoyed it! Definitely come for breakfast and some coffee, great experience even with my rambunctious family!

I love all my experiences at Cortado Coffee! The food and beverages are consistently delicious and the servers are friendly and efficient. Reasonable prices and new flavors featured from time. My standards are high and the owner and her crew have my respect. It feels like home away from home for me with access to books, wifi, and a variety of food and beverages from which to select. Comfortable seating and nice display of artwork. I recommended it to persons of all ages!

I’m really glad I stopped and tried this place out, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the espresso. I’ve tried a lot of coffee’s and this one definitely stands out. The espresso in my mocha has a very unique taste and isn’t just another burnt coffee bean. Well done guys!

I visited King Coffee Roastery for a North Phoenix Chamber meeting. The coffee was absolutely delightful and the service was great. Our group of ~15 had more than enough tables to hold the meeting without taking over too much of the space. When I am back in the area, I plan on returning for more coffee and trying out the breakfast!

My sons and I come here often for food and drinks. I love their bagel sandwiches and handmade energizer drinks; my eldest son loves the food and the guitar they have set out for patrons to play; and my youngest enjoys the food, drinks and people. They roast their own coffee daily, so it's fresh and without any bitter aftertaste. The place has a lived in, comfy, bohemian atmosphere with local artist's work hanging on the wall. I highly recommend.

Had a eggs and more bagel this am and a cortado. Both were excellent. It was nice to stop at a non-chain coffee shop. The pastries looked very good but I didn’t try any. Will definitely get some next time. Outdoor seating great for catching morning sun. USB chargers under the table along the front wall are convenient too.

Charged me $3.50 for a large water. This was the most ridiculous amount thing I’ve ever been charged. The cashier guy said they didn’t know how to just charge me for a cup so he went ahead and charged me for a soda…. When I only got tap water. Just wow. Keep in mind that I ALREADY spent $20 on a coffee and food!

Oh yehhh!!! one of the best coffee sandwich shops in town! so far i have tried the Lmberjack and green chili burritos both were excellent. Last week i had the Jalapini bagel sandwich, amazing super tasty! something else i really love are the soups, you gotta try the Pozole soup kinda spicy but super flavorful! The owner roasts coffee and the beans are full of flavor, the Costa Rica blend has hints of caramel and not at all acidic. I met the owner Monica, very up beat, friendly and attentive and the staff is very welcoming! Whatever you try you cant go wrong, however you might find you will fall into a food coma!

Their iced matcha with oat milk is SO GOOD. Shoutout to the baristas for their recommendation. They know coffee well. Six stars if I could !! Edit: Thirty minutes later, the manager came to our table to offer us a free Strawberry Nutella waffle. Seven stars if I could. Or 110% as our fifth grader says.

I’ve gone twice now. The first time we got the holiday based coffees which were pretty good. Next time I got a cappuccino and it tastes like a cappuccino. No complaints. Their bakery is amazing. My sweet tooth was very satisfied! We also tried two different sandwiches that were very good. Keep up the great work!

⚠️⚠️⚠️ *DO NOT WORK HERE** I was hired here by the previous owner who was amazing and a very sweet woman. She sold the coffee shop to Monica, who I’ve had countless issues with. Monica is very disrespectful to her staff, and a dishonest person. She talks poorly about me behind me back, even created a dress code called the “Alissa” dress code. I heard her ask one of the younger girls, “are you dumb?”. What kind of manager talks to/about her employees like that? This woman is not a woman, she’s a little girl who gossips and over charges her customers for “fresh orange juice” when it really comes out of a store bought jug. Shes even tried to hold my checks from me twice now. I could go on and on about what Monica has put me through, she’s selfish and just doesn’t have a good heart. Very mean woman who bullies her younger staff, it’s insane. And if you pay close enough attention to the front, you’ll notice it. Working for someone like Monica is not okay, she will bully you and put you down. DO NOT WORK HERE!⚠️⚠️⚠️

Came here due to a festival taking place across the street at Paradise Valley College. I'm pretty certain I'll be dropping by often. It was one of the best coffee shops I've been to in the Phoenix area. The coffee was fresh and they put the right amount of sweetness into the drinks so you taste the coffee and flavors without it feeling like a mouthful of sugar. The cold brew admittedly does taste rather strong... and that's coming from someone who likes cold brew. Cold brew is supposed to be stronger but this coffee takes it up a notch so just be aware if ordering cold brew. The breakfast we had was nothing short of exceptional. We had salmon bagels with egg and a kit kat bar.... along with coffee of course. Maple pecan coffee is a good start if you're indecisive. The salmon bagel was perfectly prepared. There was an abundance of cream cheese, the egg was cooked properly and the bagel was toasted to perfection... where you get a crunch but it's still plenty soft. Haven't tried the lunch but based on this first visit, I'll need to try. Compliments to the staff as well. They were quick and very friendly. I love the outdoor seating area. You can come by, take a seat outside and enjoy breakfast or lunch in silence while reading or browsing your phone or laptop.

I have lived in the area for years and I’ve always driven by this place. Once they open the Starbucks across the street, I started going to Starbucks. And then one day I had a little bit of extra time so I figured I’ll go into the local coffee shop. I will never go to Starbucks again! The coffee here is much better, the prices are great and the staff is amazing. Always got to support the small businesses!! Thanks for the great experience!

I love this coffee shop. I love that I can get lavender lattes here. They offer oat and almond milk. They take pride in their artisan coffee and the food here is great. I love that they display and sell artists work here as well.

  • 1/5 Phoenicia 3 years ago on Google
On both visits, the customer service, and even the lattes, waned. There were barely any smiles or eye contact at all and almost zero enthusiasm. Only a male employee on the second visit, who seemed to be a manager, made it enjoyable by asking about my day. Although, right after that, the only barista available, a female, stood and talked with him about a car accident and traffic for about a couple minutes as I stood right there, rather than making my latte. Zero expediency. I used to work at Starbucks. That would never fly there. I waiting patiently and politely as they talked instead of worked. I haven't returned.
