A great not so difficult hike. Wonderful sunrise and sunset watching place.

Great hike, not too long. Definitely strenuous, it's a constant steep uphill for about a mile. If you're in shape it's no problem, otherwise just take your time. Going there at sunset was beautiful and we had no problem finding a spot (in winter).

Good for hiking and trail running. Bring your own water, parking somewhat limited.

Amazing hike to the top as well as other smaller peaks. I found a zen rock chair where I go to meditate. There is a Sense of serenity and peace while on the mountain

My first trail experience with my dog at Lookout Mountain Preserve was awesome! The trail was easy to follow, and the views were amazing. My dog had a blast too, with lots of space to run and explore. It's a great place for beginners like us. We'll be back for sure!

A lot of bang for your buck. Oh wait, it's free (your taxpayer dollars at work). Great trails and views as you hike around the nicely maintained trails. You can even summit the mountains. If you're lucky, you'll even get a short serenade from the coyotes. It's a great city hike but especially in the late afternoon.

Great local hike to get outside and be in nature. The main hike is half a mile to the top and 500 ft in elevation change. Beautiful 360 view all around from the top. Plenty of little trails around the mountain if you’re not looking to summit. Took me 10 minutes to the top of the mountain from parking lot going my fastest pace.

It's always beautiful here at sunset🌄👍🚵🧗🏃... Pretty much no matter where you go🧐🤔 Some trails here got completely washed out & eroded these past few weeks... and switched from being covered with dirt, to all sharp rocks now!

She loved it here! I wasn't prepared. I needed my hiking boots instead of sneakers but enjoyed the views!

This is such a beautiful mountain to hike!!!! Its actually my favorite mountain in Phoenix by far! Absolutely obsessed with the views and the variation of trails you can take. A lot of people say its really hard, but you just have to push yourself on the hills. There are also a lot of great photo ops too!

Nice area to hike. Lots of trail choices. People don't always keep their dogs on a leash or pick up after them💩

Beautiful views of Scottsdale and Phoenix. But the trail is very short up to Lookout Point.

It's been awhile since I lived here but out of everywhere to live in Phoenix it's the best. My daughter and I had so much fun together alone in Arizona but Lookout Mountain is worth the hike it's breathtaking. Most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Bring water and watch jumping 🌵Cactus if your child is like mine. Getting ready to come back to show my husband Cave Creek and all the super cool things we did all day for months.

Nice somewhat short hike within the city with plenty of trails that wrap around the hills. Brought my dog here for the first time and it wasn't surprisingly busy on a Sunday. Great city views with rocky terrain closer towards the top. Highly recommend this hike!

Nice place to go hiking a day walking your RC cars lol. Had a good walk. I would call this a moderate trail, not easy. Nice walk early in the morning.

Hot and slightly windy. Had a great time flying my kite. Took a nice little journey up and around the mountain. Will do it again anytime I get the chance. God Bless

Very cool, short hike with beautiful views. Please remember water and be aware of the heat, it can sneak up on you.

Not the most popular but in my neighborhood and great view and good hike... Only good things to say. Parking can be full but you can park by the street

  • 5/5 Karlie 3 years ago on Google
Great little hike! Pretty popular spot where locals bring their dogs and kids. Not to strenuous of a hike with small inclines throughout. We love to hike here often and I think you will too :)

  • 4/5 Phillip R. 9 months ago on Google
Great place for a challenging short hike. If you want the full view be prepared to physically climb once the dirt path ends. You'll have a choice to go right or left. Left is easier but longer, Right is pretty much the same height but much more dangerous.

  • 5/5 Anthony M. 5 years ago on Google
I love this mountain!!! It has a nice easy takeoff and slowly and gradually gets harder and harder. Be careful near the saddle. There are SEVERAL different ways to go. Turn east, take the left trail that's more gradual and continue to the right up to the top. Then walk across the spine to get to the peak. You'll see the trail clearly once you get to the top. Good luck! And Don't Leave Trash!!!

I've been hiking lookout mountain for years! It has a great incline and doesn't take long to get to the peak. A great workout especially if you don't have a lot of time!

  • 4/5 Marilyn K. 5 years ago on Google
Easy directions, parking available, wandering trails and trails that took you to the top. Little rocky in places but that all adds to the experience. Elevation was moderate, just take plenty of water to drink. Variety of cactus to view and flowers

This is one on my favorite places to go on the weekends and sometimes I find myself there on Saturday and Sunday. There are so many paths and you can talk a short hike or a long one. I regularly see coyotes, quails, jack rabbits and cotton tails. There are lots of easy trails and some more challenging ones too!!!

My husband and I popped over here to check out this mountain as it’s pretty close to where we lived. There’s a nice parking lot and we were able to find a space. We chose a path and went with it! It was pretty rocky and they were kind of loose. The path we chose was pretty steep, but we muscled through and made it to the top little valley between the two steeper points. Pretty view of the Arizona valley! I wouldn’t bring your pet or small kids on some of the trails, but there were others that they’d be fine on!

  • 5/5 Susan R. 3 years ago on Google
Very peaceful place, to sit and look at nature. Also to communicate with God. It's safe as you just watch people walking and hiking. Upon left if you are stressed you just feel better looking out over our beautiful Arizona Valley.
