We Have been wanting to try this place out for a while. We ordered a Caesar salad and a couple of pies. The pizza was good and the salad was good. The service was good as well. Had to make reservations to get in. The place is smaller inside but does have seating outside with misters. We sat inside and it was clean and neat.

We just popped in unexpectedly after a hike. We tried the beet salad with mixed greens, BBQ pizza special and sticky date dessert everything was amazing including the staff, environment and qualify of food! So flavorful and fresh!

Fresh is an understatement. Wasn't sure how I'd feel about the ultra thin crust, I was pleasantly surprised.. caprese salad unbelievable. Don't spoil the experience by looking at the price, try what you like then decide.

This place deserves more hype period. If you haven’t been, do yourself a favor and go. Loved the whole concept and the greatest part is that you can literally eat a whole pizza without the guilt. GF pizzas here are also a 10/10! We had a few different pizzas and none disappointed. Smelly date, pesto chicken, white mushroom truffle, and the chefs special.

I placed an order for to-go by phone and I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. As I arrived, my order was ready. I ordered a pizza The Skinny Pork. The price did not match what it said on their website, it was listed at $16 when it was actually $17. So keep that in mind if you are ordering. The pizza was good, the crust was not thick, it was enough for two people , but if you are very hungry and wanna share …maybe consider ordering two. It wasn’t something that I was wowed by , however, it wasn’t something to complain about either.

When I ate here there was a table screaming and ranting at top volume about what a horrible president trump is. The employees and owner were also joining in, adding their own loud exclamations. I didnt come here for pizza and politics...I came here for pizza. I urge any Republican to stay away, you arent welcome. Unless the owner has changed in the past three months that is...

I do have to say, I have a problem with Base Pizzeria. I am addicted and I also think I'm a world class photographer haha which I'm not. But I love this place so much. Their pizzas are just classic and delicious and you can't ever go wrong but one other thing I love that the owners and executive chef do is they always have something new and secret. I makes me think back to when I was young and excited about cracker jacks, I was always anxious to see what surprise I got inside! This place always has something new and delicious and the local craft beers can't be beat either. They know me by first name along with many other people who go here. Family friendly and also great for dogs on the patio. They are from Australia so it's cool to bring friends who have never been so they can have the experience as well! Such a treasure. I suggest it beyond all else!

10/10 recommend grabbing a pizza and drink from here. The staff is incredible and will greet you by name. There’s a few of us that come here on Tuesday nights for 1/2 price pizza after the gym. My go to pizza is the Sesame Street.

We order takeout from here every Tuesday for half-price pizzas! The smelly date is the goto - replace gorgonzola with goat cheese and it's divine.

The best pizza I’ve had since I backpacked Italy. Classic flavors and new and interesting things to try as well! Family owned!!!! Great service, will be telling my friends and family to head over here anytime they are close! LOVED THE FOOD AND LOVED THE STAFF

EXCELLENT. We didn’t have a bad thing; everything is so fresh and homemade. It was a recommendation from a local while we were in town and I would come back to the state just for this pizza. ‘Local’ business and so cute!

Such a great place to be! This has become a staple in my life because of the crispy prosciutto salad, the sweet and spicy snag pizza, and the pavlova! On top of all of that? The people are the most welcoming and hospitable humans you will meet! Their new cocktail menu is also a great addition to the overall experience. I highly recommend the Old Oak Tree, a very well balanced whiskey drink, perfect for sipping on the patio while watching the sun go down over Piestewa or at the bar surrounded by family. You must go!

Really good food and good desserts. They have a bunch of different chili-infused olive oils that go really well with pizza crust. Owned by Australians so you'll hear some cool accents

  • 3/5 Ryan K. 1 year ago on Google
It’s just ok. Been wanting to try this place for years. But disappointed. The staff is superb. Given that. The pizza is just eh. Fork and knife type because the crust doesn’t have much to it. Flat and limp. The flavor of toppings can be there depending on the slice. But overall just a pie that can be better. And doing the Anthony Bourdain thing - the bathroom was a dirty mess - so makes you think about the kitchen.

Service was great. Our waiter was friendly and even helped recommend a great dish! Food was amazing. The overall atmosphere of this place is very chill and laid back. A very original place with delicious food. We left clean plates and the food didn’t leave me feeling overly full despite eating quite a lot. 10/10 I will absolutely be coming here again.

What a great little bistro! I had 2 of their brick oven pizzas on two separate occasions and they are delicious! Lil Pep and the truffle mushroom….yummy. Loved the crust as much as the toppings! The service is friendly and engaging. I enjoy finding these little gems! Bonus… locally owned by 3 siblings who were raised right here in Phoenix.

Had two salads two pizzas and two desserts with sister and brother-in-law. Everything was superb, drinks were delicious and a meal that normally would think woulda had me feeling heavy the next day actually sat great. Sign of quality ingredients and thoughtful cooking environment. Highly recommend

Great pizza joint. Came here with my friend and thankfully they had room for us on the patio. I don't recall what pizza I ordered but is was delicious. Great servers and delicious eats.

Base has amazing pizza. You can really tell the high quality of their ingredients when you eat their pizza. Their crust is fantastic, and the sauce has a wonderful flavor. The owner is a great person to deal with and he made sure to walk around the restaurant and check that everyone was happy with their food.

  • 4/5 Bill W. 1 year ago on Google
Solid pizza. Ingredients are excellent quality, but our pizza was a little soggy in the middle. Crust was nice and thin and crispy away from the middle however. Note that the cheese is all fresh mozzarella and so coverage is minimal. Don't go in expecting a super cheesy pizza.

I had a friend visiting and while driving around Camelback Mountain, we decided to try this nice cozy place tucked next to the mountain. We ordered the Kale and Beet Salad which was AMAZING. The goat cheese (Chèvre) was the creamiest and best tasting ever! Everything about the salad was a pleasure. The beets were sweet, with just the right amount of bite. The dressing was light and flavorful. As an old friend of mine used to joke, "It's so good, I want to lick the plate!". Next we had the Smelly Date pizza. Who would have ever thought of putting dates on a pizza? Well, they did and it's incredible! The dough is topped with crispy prosciutto and gorgonzola. THEN they put flavorful arugula and balsamic dressing drizzled on top. I still think about that pizza and can't wait to go back to try another.

Delicious pizzeria! First time here on Tuesday with friends and kids all under ages of 4. They were super accommodating, provided lidded water cups for the kids, attentive and suggested a simple but quality ingredients for the kids' pizza. We adults got their Noble bread to start, highly recommend! Then had their Pesto Chicken pizza and a salad, which was all delicious. Definitely will be back again!

My husband has been wanting to try Base for a while. He raved about the food based on the reviews. So of course, I expected this place to blow my socks off! We made a reservation for 7pm and we were promptly seated. Sadly, we were not pleased with the food. Any of it. They don't offer a kid's menu, which makes it so difficult when you have to please a little one. THE FOOD: We ordered a Base Caesar Salad with Chicken, BBQ Pizza, and a Roni Pizza. The Base Caesar Salad- we added chicken. This salad was SO plain. Not tasty at all, we asked for extra dressing twice and realized that the dressing wasn't helping at all. Just not tasty or any good flavoring at all. The Roni Pizza was VERY saucy and not enough cheese, no kid wants to eat sauce only, and we didn't either. We asked if they could add more cheese and were told no, due to sanitation.  The waitress offered to make another one, but it would be the same size, they had nothing smaller. We passed. BBQ Pizza, this pizza wasn't too bad.  We liked the brisket or beef on the pizza but felt like it was missing something, just not sure what it was. THE DRINKS: I ordered a Modelo beer, in a cold glass, it seems that the bottles were warm, and the glass wasn't cold.  I returned it. I then ordered a margarita, not good either.  I could taste tap water in my margarita. I didn't complain and I did my best to finish it. Maybe it was the ice that was used. Not sure where the tap flavor came from. In the end, the waitress did comp the Roni Pizza and the salad. Although we didn't complain about the salad. But it was nice of her.  We did tip her according to the full bill. We most likely won't be driving out to Base for a second chance, it's quite a drive from our house.

So it's the best of 40 pizza locations in arizona. It's a pie baked in a large brick oven next to burning logs inside. The atmosphere is amazing wine bottles cover the wall and the service is local and personal. Very freindly. Worth every penny.

Love their pizza. Beet bruschetta is awesome. We have ordered here and picked up a lot recently, last night did the door dash option. Fantastic food!

  • 5/5 Dave B. 4 years ago on Google
Went here last night. Coopers beer? Chook on pizza? Snags on pizza? Pav for dessert? Hmmm... Sure enough, two guys from Gawler got drunk and decided to open a restaurant in Phoenix. One was great. The other is a Collingwood supporter. I said "You gotta tell people that at the door. Let them make their own decision whether to come in. And don't touch our food, please". But I checked the car park and there was no Datsun 180B with one door a different color, so I assume he is a Collingwood barracker in name only. If you want a neighborhood restaurant that serves modern food, then go here if you are in Phoenix. We thought we could be at Coriole in McLaren Vale, it was that good.

Amazing 👌 So apparently Google doesn't let you make a separate review.. but this is my second time coming to Base Pizzeria and they deserve another 5 star review. Not only is the food delicious but the service is great. What else do you need from a restaurant? Roscoe provides extraordinary service Everytime and Megan made one of the BEST drinks I've ever had. Thank you both!!!

Food was good but service was lacking. Was about to leave after 30 min of waiting when food arrived. I heard waiter tell another larger table they had a large carry out order to process but my party was never given any such communication of the delay. One pizza was enough for my wife and I. At $17 for Piggy pizza and $4.50 for Az bread, price was reasonable.

We shared the pear salad which was plenty for two, and it was delicious. The pepperoni pizza however was not a standout. Our salad was served within a few minutes of ordering but the pizza took almost an hour to arrive. We saw take out pizza flying out the door as we sat and waited and waited. When it arrived it was about the size of an LP record ( if you are old enough to remember those). All of the meat ( a very small amount) and cheese was placed in the middle of the pizza so after your first bite, all you had was cause and crust. The crust was extremely thin and under cooked ( after waiting so long) and became soggy very fast so when you picked up a piece it collasped and the toppings slid off. The two of us barely got three small pieces each. After the salad and pizza, and a bill of around $30, we left still hungry.

  • 4/5 Ginny T. 4 years ago on Google
Our experience falls short of justifying the amount of money we spent; if I could give 3.5ish stars, I would. The space is cute & they have a nice outdoor patio area which we enjoyed. The customer service was wishy washy, our starters were good, our pizza was good. We had the artisan bread & mixed olives then we each had our own pizza. What could have been done differently? We should have shared the pizza but didnt realize how big they actually were. Make sure you know what time they close (9pm on a Friday night) because they will essentially kick you out, telling you it's time to go & don't order a drink too close to that time unless you intend to chug your wine or beer. That being said, in lieu of them serving us our last drink they would have better served us by letting us know they close at 9 so we could decide if we really wanted another drink. In short, $200 is too much for pizza & drinks only to be kicked out at 9, lesson learned.

Absolutely the best dinner and restaurant I have ever been to! I dreamed about this food! Definitely order the Toasted AZ bread appetizer. It is perfect combination of soft and crust with awesome EVOO topping. Also had the Base Pizza and Pesto Chicken pizza, both delicious with best thin crust ever! Everything from drinks to apps to entrees and desserts were so flavorful and can't believe everything is local AND organic. Beautiful restaurant, great for date nights and just do good. Base Pizzeria has it all - amazing food, awesome customer service, and a fantastic view of the Phoenix Mountains! They are our go-to pizza place in Phoenix. We also love the fact our friendly and well-mannered furbaby can join us on the patio. We've had a number of items from the menu - from starters to salads and pizzas to dessert - that we've thoroughly enjoyed, but their daily specials are always so tempting and never disappoint. When people ask us for restaurant recommendations, Base is always on our list. Highly recommend!
