Our waiter Kyle was hands down the best server I have ever encountered. The food was delicious. Drinks were great. My only issue was my $26 entree had one Octopus tenticle. Like I said it was delicious but would have liked at least two. All in all we will be back!!!

Extremely disappointed. I was excited to try Kaizen based on the overall reviews. However, my experience was not great. I will note that I made a reservation at 6 pm (busier time). I requested an indoor seat, but got asked if I'd take an outdoor seat instead, I agreed. Mistake on my part. Service After receiving our waters and placing our order, it took a very long time for someone to check in with us. It got hot and we wanted to move seats. We got our first roll at 6:40 with no sauce or wasabi to eat it with. When we finally got to ask Kyle to move, the rest of our time he walked past us without saying a word (nice guy otherwise). If we were getting a new server, I think that should have been communicated. Finally, all of our rolls came out but we never got the gyoza we ordered. When I inquired, I could tell it was probably forgotten, so I cancelled it. Food The presentation of the dishes were decent and the sushi was just okay. The rice was a little hard and I definitely had better quality elsewhere. My visit wasn't worth the hype, but maybe yours will be. I would recommend Harumi which is also downtown and has amazing service on top of high quality food. Ambience The best part about my Kaizen experience was the location. It's tucked away in a building that has an awesome vibe. Great place for a first date, catch up with some friends, or hangout for drinks before heading out. Coming from a city with a huge spectrum of japanese and sushi restaurants, I was impressed with Kaizen's dishes. Everything was nicely presented and unique flavours made a a great dinner with family. We were a group of 8 so got to sample a good portion of their menu. Notable were the House Kaizen rolls (tic tac toe, king rolls and senor Larry) which were large portioned and uniquely delicious. King Salmon sashimi/nigiri were also great. Not so good was the Ceviche Mixto which was just swimming in tomato sauce that made it more Gazpacho-like than a ceviche. Was also told champagne strawberry tiramisu was life-changing dessert but sadly no longer offered on the menu. We tried the deconstructed key lime pie and some kind of choco tart. Both were good... But not life changing :).

Okay so first of all let’s start with the happy hour everyday from 3-5. Even Saturdays! They do 50% off the whole menu and they add 20% gratuity which I honestly…think is more than reasonable. Literally only one thing that isn’t on the half off and it’s the steak which honestly to me is outrageously fair. Okay so pro-tip…look at the menu before you come and get some stuff put in right away because rightfully so, the place is packed. Also let’s talk about the cocktails. They’re beautiful and also half off during the happy hour. Everything is wonderful and delicious. Highly recommend, especially ag happy hour!

We stopped by because of their awesome happy hour deals. The sushi is a bit overpriced if it's not happy hour, so we only come during that time. Service is very nice- as is the owner. The quality of the food is pretty good, and I like how they come up with original drinks. I also like that they have a decent vegetarian selection. The interior is sleek and clean, and usually seems to be poppin.

Good sushi. But isn’t sushi always good. For me, it pretty much is. Higher priced tho, and not higher caliber ingredients and flavors and textures than my less expensive favorite sushi spot. 🍣 NOT worth the extra cost for honestly less than prime sushi.

Great Japanese sushi fix in downtown Phoenix. We came for Valentine’s dinner and was greatly greeted and welcomed. We got the Dragon roll, Vegas roll and Rainbow roll. Pretty classic rolls, well done. In all honesty, not a huge roll selection and heavily overpriced. There is an available sashimi assortment option which we will be back for. Also, need to return for happy hour which is every day 3pm-5pm.

The best sushi & happy hour in Phoenix! Perfect for date night, a great sushi experience with only the finest ingredients. The food and drinks were delicious, the music and casual vibe were great and happy hour are 50% off the entire menu from 4 pm - 6 pm. I recommend making a reservation (yes, you can make reservations for happy hour). This hidden gem, Kaizen PHX is located inside the Lawrence Building, a co-working space. Favorite cocktails: * Seicho cocktail * Kaizen Old Fashioned Our food favorites from date night: * Edamame * Snow Crab wontons * Papas Fritas * Yakisoba Donburi Bowls * What happens in Vegas roll * Avocado roll * Salmon Sashimi Roll

With so many restaurants in the Phoenix Valley, it takes something beyond good for me to keep coming back. Kaizen is THE BEST! You have to try the Karaage chicken, snow crab wontons, papas fritas, and definitely get the Señor Larry roll!! There are no words! The creative dishes and fresh cocktails are truly delicious, but what stands out every time is the welcoming and super friendly staff… Morah is truly an angel! Go see her at the bar, sit back, and let happiness take over!

I own a business nearby and have been wanting to try this place out for a while now. I finally made it in, and I’m so glad I did! Service was great, food was great, and it happened to be happy hour so I got more than I had imagined for less. All in all I had a great experience and will be back again. Thanks crew! Well done.

FOODGASM!!! Every single bite of every single item was above perfection. I am a foodie, I have been a paid food and service reviewer, I have dined at five stars down to dirty taco trucks, and I am still very picky. NOTHING FOOD WISE FAILED MY EXPECTATIONS AT ALL. Every items was displayed beautifully, and the quality could be tasted from the first bite to the last swallow. Each item in the dishes had its own amazing unique flavor profile you could taste everything, sometimes the flavors layered, some came in stages even, and I have very rarely described anything with such admiration and respect food wise. Every ingredient tasted as fresh as it could. The octopus, oh... my... gawd! I like it, but in my fifty years I have never once enjoyed the way it was prepared. I am a seafood lover extreme, and have often been heard saying I love any seafood, except octopus and claims except calamari. I've been often told the octopus can be great when made right. All these decades, and I finally found what made right tastes like. I will return here often just for that, but enjoy even more with it every time. Now I saved the best for last. I have never heard of such a fully inclusive happy hour as this place. My date wanted somewhere nice for drinks and to sample a variety of appetizers. I found them through a New Times article for best happy hours and we both decided this was where we were going. EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS HALF PRICE DURING HAPPY HOUR (except two specialty dishes). They will add an auto 20 percent gratuity during happy hour, but I made them work for it with the variety of dishes we tried. The decor, ambiance is rated lower as it is located inside a warehouse business building and no large signs even to know where to go, but the open seating and types of seating also affected the score. There was a little bit of nice art on the walls, but honestly, I didn't go for the looks, I went for the tastes.

Birthday dinner for a friend brought us in, but the Caribbean King keeps us going back. Wow. What a full-range of flavors packed into every delicious piece. Hamachi Supreme was also unbelievably fresh and delicious. Too good not to recommend.

Very cool ambiance we were seated right away. We were coming from a different sushi place which was unsatisfying. Kaizen on the other hand was 100 percent satisfaction! Rolls and drinks were 1/2 off because of happy hour. That steak was fire!!! Will definitely coming back! Service and food are sooo worth it!

Came here for happy hour with a friend. Love that it’s half off the entire menu. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and drink! HIGHLY recommend the Black Berry Pie drink!!

Came here during happy hour and got a feast once we found out everything was 50% off during happy hour. The service was great, everyone was nice, the crowd was slow at first when we arrived but was fully packed once we left. The food was excellent, we tried one of everything it felt like and would definitely try everything the servers recommend, they knew the menu best and they delivered. The cocktails were delicious, we got the Mezcal Cocktail and the Lychee Martini, both of which were refreshing. This place feels like a hidden gem, so if you’re lucky to stumble upon this place, I highly recommend checking them out!

Top-notch sushi! We all shared ten dishes and all were excellent and well-presented. Great seasoning on the spicy edamame. Happy hour pricing is excellent with tons of options. Restaurant is hidden in what looks like a We Work converted warehouse, with no signage, so just trust Google Maps and enter at the center of the parking lot.

The Caribbean King roll was the highlight of what we ordered. I would get this roll again and maybe try someone there items on their menu. The food comes out really fast and our waitress Rachel was a delight.

I went to Kaizen with my grandmother during happy hour (3-5pm) after seeing it listed as the number one sushi place in Phoenix, a title that was definitely deserved. I took my service dog and staff provided her with water and were very respectful. I do recommend reservations as without any you will likely be seated outside. It’s very rare you have food that elicits joy but every bite of sushi here did just that.

Easy going spot in warehouse district. Inside reminds me of Culinary Dropout in Tempe as a shared building. We went with another couple and just hung out until closing on a Saturday night. Service was attentive and friendly. Manager checked in on us often.Order-to-service is quick. Creative bar drinks. If getting the coffee drink, specify sweet or unsweetened. The karange appetizer - soy marinated chicken bites is really good - enough for four of us to share. The shoshito peppers are hot and "alive" (not literally but see video!). We ordered several items. Carribean King and Senor Larry went over best. The latter was crunchy.

Looking for a downtown adventure without the headache of being downtown then this is the spot for you As cozy as a warehouse can be you walk in and slightly turn left to be greeted by a hostess. We adored our waitress as she helped us navigate all thing’s delicious I highly recommend their gyoza as a starter as they are not served like many other places and have a textured crust about them that slowly melts as you eat them The cocktails are also delicious and the bartender does a great job of offering a variety of options to be perfectly paired with the dishes you’re eating Add this spot to your must try list and enjoy your night

I'm ashamed to say I didn't take enough pictures. I was in the moment. The atmosphere is urban industrial and very well lit. I loved the ambiance, very posh. Their ahi tuna is arguably the best I had. They have local saki from Holbrook. The options on Wasabi were magical. I definitely will be back.

This place gets 5 stars across the board. Food, service, and atmosphere are on point. The food is light and refreshing. After sharing 2 apps, 2 entrees, a sushi roll and dessert - we were pleasantly full (but not that heavy thanksgiving meal full). The entrees aren’t large but thoughtful in flavor and presentation. With specials that not change seasonal but monthly! The service was friendly and helpful with questions. Continuous water and checking in just the right amount of time. The atmosphere is this cool retro building that has been modified for businesses. The decor and vibe plus lighting gives it a sleek comfortable atmosphere. Perfect for a date or special occasion. It also has a killer happy hour on food till 6.

The atmosphere is really cool, its located in an industrial building. The cocktails were delicious and Nicole was an amazing bartender. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. The sushi was very yummy as well, definitely a great find!
