😠 Would leave a 0 but you have to leave a star to leave a review. Kitchen staff was great. I do also want to say maybe a handful of staff executed their jobs well and had smiles on their face. This place is really unorganized though and it didn’t make me feel safe while in there. I also felt not welco... People often mention time, staff, patient, facility, family, care, patients, people, leave, stay,

Would leave a 0 but you have to leave a star to leave a review. Kitchen staff was great. I do also want to say maybe a handful of staff executed their jobs well and had smiles on their face. This place is really unorganized though and it didn’t make me feel safe while in there. I also felt not welcomed and felt burdensome when I would ask my nurse for something that only the nurses can grab. There were eye rolls, big sighs, and attitude thrown all around from staff. Also it’s not a safe place for trans members. They deadname and don’t have a system to make people feel safe. They don’t even care that they don’t either. Saw one person discharge early AMA because of it and one other person while in my stay that felt unsafe because of it also. They don’t have any systems for panic attacks, and they don’t have people for you to talk to either. 0/10 pls save yourself from this place

1st of all 1 star is too much for this place. If you are concerned for a loved one do not, I repeat DO NOT bring them to this facility. I was assured that they had an open door policy and that the patient/Guardian could check themselves out just as easy as they checked in. I asked every question I thought I knew to ask and was told, and I quote "Were not that kind of place" The day before I took my fiancé here I took her to an internist fairly certain that what she was going through was hormonal or some other underlaying issue. There they did labs and just called me back to inform me that her potassium levels are dangerously low and that she is at risk of heart failure. I immediately called Quail run. They assured me "she was being taken care of" and that the issue would be addressed when the Dr. made his rounds and saw her. I insisted that the issue sounded anything other than routine and to please DO NOT treat this as such. They did do exactly that. The call from the internist came just after 8:00 A.M. and was not addressed until after 11:00 I then asked that they prepare my fiancé for discharge as I would be there shortly to take her to another facility. She is still there now and being held against her/my will. They refuse to release her to me. This is a total nightmare. Originally, when I read the negative reviews about this place I ignored them thinking to myself that the people that wrote them were more than likely mentally disturbed and that people are more likely to complain about poor service than they are compliment good service as a rule of thumb. They are absolutely insisting on holding her against her will so they can bill for another day. Don't let the looks of the new building fool you. Don't believe them when they tell you that they have an open door policy and if the patient or guardian is unhappy with the treatment that they can check out just as easily as they checked in. DO believe all the terrible reviews written about this place. I am so sorry I did not. She has been legally kidnapped. I even have a Notarized Durable Power Of Attorney that they have a copy of and still refuse to release her to my care. I have asked to speak to a treating physician to no avail. I have spoken with the administrator Melissa who has been anything other than accommodating to anything other than their bottom line. Please, If you care about yourself or a loved one DO NOT bring them here. I wouldn't let them watch my dog. Might I ad that if you are considering taking someone here or checking yourself in you are already going through a very very difficult time. A difficult time that almost broke me. Bringing her here has only truly added insult to injury and made an already absolutely gut-wrenching, heartbreaking situation even worse. However, if you are cruel and want to further damage yourself or a loved one this is the place for you. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE TAKE THE REVIEWS VERY SERIOUSLY!

Went in voluntarily seeking help, but on a 5150 hold, and was immediately separated from my personal possessions. Was left in the waiting area for three plus hours. I Was told my make-up regimen was a danger to myself and had everything kept away from me. They tried to tell me my things had alcohol in them (they did not) and that items were made of glass (they were not, all plastic). This place dramatically increased the trauma I was experiencing at the time. They put me on a floor with mostly young people (who called me Grandma and Old Lady) in a filthy room with a shower/bath that had not been cleaned from the previous patient or patients. They're super big on just drugging you so you will be quiet. I did not feel safe on a floor with men but was told they don't separate genders. And Dr. Vine, the psychiatrist on duty is a joke. Pious and patronizing and no help at all. He even had the nerve to talk down to my global systems engineer husband about my condition. I signed an AMA that day and was dragged out of bed in the middle of the night, handcuffed by Phoenix PD and thrown in the back of an SUV I could barely get into. Transported to central processing and was almost immediately released to my husband and sent home. There are some caring staff on duty but this place is all about making money, and not about helping sick people. I was treated with dignity and respect at central processing for the short time I was there but not this place. They treat patients like children and criminals! Just awful! I would give 0 stars if possible. Don't ever send a loved one there for help.

I am very glad this was the hospital I chose when I needed it most. Quail Run has compassionate and experienced staff who made me feel safe. My experience was healing, educational, and even somewhat enjoyable. I definitely recommend Quail Run in case of a mental health emergency. The check in time is long, but all services thereafter are on a timetable. I made a friend during my stay, too.

Do not go to this place - you will not be treated like an individual and you will not get the same answer twice. Do not believe them if they tell you that you can leave anytime you want if you check in voluntarily. My daughter checked in voluntarily but had COVID going in, we were told she would have to room alone but would still get all of the benefits of group therapy and other activities. Instead a high anxiety patient was put in isolation with no reasonable human interaction. Instead of group therapy and other activities she was given papers to fill out on her own in isolation. I completely respect that they wanted to protect others so we just ask that she be released since they could not provide treatment. They continually found reasons why she couldn’t leave, first she had to see a psychiatrist, then it was fill out an AMA, then it was seeing two psychiatrist. Then it was - well we don’t release anyone in the first 48 hours- really??? That was never said or I can guarantee my daughter would never have checked in. Then it became 72 hours. Now it is “there needs to be a plan in place for release.” So the result of my daughter trying to get help is an additional trauma from being placed in isolation when she already had high anxiety. Likely we will need additional therapy after this situation for the trauma this has caused. Once the level of care due to COVID restrictions was clear the right thing to do would have been to release her, not create an additional mental health issue. Do no harm is not something this facility understands. In response to the request from Quail Run for my contact information- it is in my daughter’s file, you have had it all along, no need to ask for it. Feel free to reach out at any time the ball is in your court.

The adult unit at QR is much better run than the adolescent unit. Staff are much more compassionate and helpful. I was scared and ashamed to have been back at the hospital. The Social workers reassured me that they were there to make sure I got the help I needed during my stay. Food was excellent and so was the therapeutic groups they provided. I left with a lot of love and support from this place. Thank you!! Also the outpatient therapy is amazing!

It was the WORST experience I have ever had in my life. The kids there were nice but lowkey crazy and they made me feel like I was also crazy. Also, the scrubs were so uncomfortable and felt like I was wearing a box. The showers were nasty and looked like they've never been cleaned. The workers there were SO MEAN!! They made me feel like a prisoner and they striped away my personality. Quail Run made me 100 times worse then when I entered. As a mentally unstable teen you would think they'd hire kindhearted people but instead most of the staff there were harsh and gruesome. This place will forever leave a scar in my heart and I will never be the same.

GREAT Psychiatrists and a few nurses. A few night staff members were absolutely ABUSIVE. Bright strobing flashlight in your face every 15 minutes was not uncommon!!! Absolutely atrocious beds made sleep near impossible so the nurses give sleep meds to try to help you sleep. When you finally sleep after multiple days... strobe light to the face. How is this happening in America?!!! Unfortunately, our country needs a total overhaul as this facility is relatively average in my experience.

I was there almost 2 years ago now in the adolescent unit. It was my first time inpatient. I do think they did a good job at keeping patients safe, and the staff were more compassionate as compared to others I’ve experienced since. I also think that I, as well as some other patients were sent back home too early without enough of the proper resources, but that could’ve changed since. I met a lot of other young patients that helped me learn so much about myself and the harsh realities of the world. Thank you guys for taking care of my scared and depressed 14 year old self that thought her world had ended.

this is the worst place i have ever been to. it seriously feels like a prison… once i was admitted, i didn’t leave my floor for three whole days. the techs punish the adolescents for simply just talking by not letting them go down to the cafe for meals and to go outside. literally this place made me feel worse than it did better. most all of my group therapy’s were cancelled so all we did was sit in the common area all day with nothing to do. literally a waste of time, effort, energy, and most of all, money.

First impression: horrible customer service. Had the absolute worst experience just now with the receptionist, she was white and she was wearing dark pink/red shirt, long dirty blonde hair and she was just rude and seemed like she couldn't be bothered, when all I was trying to do was drop off clothes for my sister for the very first . She should get her attitude in check before she comes to work is all I'm a going to say

ZERO stars, do not take your loved ones here. They left my child more traumatized then before we took them there. Not only is the facility horrible the billing situation is a nightmare. They do not care about helping people only collecting money. They barely answer their phones and don't submit things to insurance correctly and then send ridiculous bills to patients. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

This place saved my life. I got the medicine changes I needed here that changed the course of my healing that I take to this day and I've never been healthier. This place gives you a safe place to fall when you're hurting. I can't thank the employees here enough. Their work is so important to the community and I love them. I loved the classes.♡ I acutely remember it being night time and a male nurse coming to check on me and saying such kind things. Like hello darling just here to check your vitals. He was very soft and kind and you could tell there was sensitivity there for my position. Ultimately they keep you busy with learning and classes and outside time and group time and they keep you focused on how to heal and also have everyone enjoy movies and talk with one another. This place gave me ten days of a break from the world to break down in a safe place. I played basketball to stay active and my experience saved my life. Thank you to all their employees. I give you so much credit. Your job is so important and beautiful and thank you for your compassion. If you can't take life anymore go here instead of hurting yourself. It will change your healing process and keep you strong. ✨️ being around others will also bring you back to life and you'll feel supported and understood. The doctors will also give you important medicine changes here ♡ ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜 ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 this place is amazing. I met some beautiful people too. There was specifically one man who was such a joy to talk to and he really helped me. He also had a break down but he was kind and he made everyone laugh and his humor was so valuable to me at this time in my life.wish I had his number. ♡☆♡☆♡☆ Without Quail Run I wouldn't be the healed and happy person I am now.

I had a petition filed against me and was told that voluntary treatment would drop the petition so I came here. Big hospital bill later they refused to send the information needed to revoke the petition and had me taken out the door in handcuffs and sent to a state mental facility. At the state facility I had the petition dropped with in a matter of hours and was cleared and discharged. Quailrun just milks insurance money. The staff are also either not engaged or just strait up mean. They told me I was being discharged and would not tell me anything. Wouldn't tell me who was here or what was going and then I was cuffed and thrown in a police car. The state instantly realized that the petition should have been submitted because it contained false information about me. This place was hell to stay in. I actually liked the state facility better. People were nicer and much more helpful. Quailrun gave me so much run around and wouldn't let me sign ROIs or talk to a therapist or my social worker. This place is seriously messed up. Found out from the petitioner that quailrun was not just being lazy but refused to drop the petition because I wouldn't take the drugs they were trying to force down my throat. The state actually was trying to revoke the petition a few hours after it was submitted because they realized it was signed in haste by people who were of unstable mind at the time of signing and falsified their relationship to me and the state cleared it from my record but then it gets better. I don't know if quailrun was trying to petition me after the fact, but state petitioner put an injunction in place because I guess they were concerned about that because they have dealt with this place before and had issues in the past with them which is not surprising because even though this place is "voluntary" they will not let you leave. They told me that if I opted to leave they would discharge me but not let me leave until the police came. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they have the authority to do that. This is a privately owned facility. If I'm discharged keeping me there should be considered kid napping right? This happened to somebody else while I was there he was there completely voluntary but when he was discharged they wouldn't let him leave because he had a gun in his truck. Well the gun was there when he checked in and it's still legally his property there's no record of seizure, so how can they keep him for having privately owned property in his truck?

Night staff made fun of me and other kids who we’re having panic attacks when someone triggered all of them. put me on a diet that I didn’t even know about they didn’t even tell me . Staff were just really rude and we didn’t deserve it. The counselor or whatever she’s called didn’t help at me at all. Sent me home even tho I wasn’t ready to. Hated it here

I just wanted to say that I am feeling SO much better with myself and my mental health after my week stay at quail run. Yes, they lock your doors during the day. Yes, they constantly keep you busy and on a schedule. But they also are always there to help and most of the time they are short staffed but still do their best for us patients. Yes, I sometimes had to ask for something twice but the second time they were always ON IT. All of the things that they do is for us, to better and help US. It may suck because it’s things we are not used to but it’s for our safety and our happiness. Give them some slack, they are humans just like us.

i was sent here twice at age 17, so i was in the minor unit (which i hear is a LOT different than the adult units). each stay i was here for about a week. i wanna give a huge props to the staff named Keesha and LaSean (i believe that’s how their names are spelt). Keesha is the sweetest lady i have ever met and really left a mark on me. the second time i came to quail run she remembered me from the last time i was there haha and was genuinely sorry that i returned and comforted me. LaSean is the realest man i have ever met. but he also had genuine hope for all of us and i could tell that. owners of quail run, if these two people still work here, give them a raise or something, they really deserve it. oh and how could i forget! there was a therapist who worked there who went by the name of “bubbles” and she had such a bold personality and helped sooo many of us who had bad relationships with our parents. all of us said she had “the magic touch” with the way she was able to somehow transform our bad relationships with our parents. she also deserves a raise. everyone in my unit ADORED her. honestly, the majority of the staff were really great people and genuinely cared for all of us.

Oh my gosh, I would give it a 0 stars if I could. They're awful, they never answer their phone. The nurses on the floors don't care about there. Patients just because it's a psychiatric hospital, they could care less. Patience patience Please don't take your loved ones here. We had no choice he went from the group home to there without the acknowledgment to call the family.

My parent currently resides at Quail Run facility. She has had nothing but nice things to say about the comfort of the facility. She has communicated that the rooms and beds are far more comfortable than previous facilities. She has explained how the food is also good, and staff is kind. However, my mother has some very severe mental health concerns. The Doctors at this facility, & at previous facilities refuse to get a complete picture of possible behaviors my mother conceals, whether out of embarrassment &/or unwillingness/unable to communicate the reality of her long term illness. I’ve been begging for them to just reach out to multiple family members & close friends, that know patient best. I’ve not asked for info on my mothers progress or Social Work’s conversations with her, just want to express concerns in the most constructive way. Im being denied any voice, as is my family. Insight can be taken any way staff desires, but insight can save lives and documentation of possible concerns may make sense, especially when so much aligns amongst adult children, husbands, and patients personal friends. When someone is in & out of Behavioral Health facilities, & family trying to support is available, why continue to take only the patients word? This is leading all facilities to continue to prescribe meds that haven’t worked & are detrimental if diagnosed with illnesses probably not treated. Addicts should never go home with mind altering meds after abused time & time again. This is causing further harm to my elder mother, who suffers addiction and is noted as a big problem with events that led her to the many hospitalizations in the last two years. Lastly, when a patient is encouraged to lie to family on the phone, it is very hard to help a person see how lying hurts others around them. Last night, it was communicated to a friend that staff would be standing by when my mother called me, her daughter, & if the patient felt “attacked” by me, going into emotional state when answers aren’t what they seek, it is put in motion that the staff member tell patient that there is a mandatory group & she must hang up now. I’m not unaware of lies and felt very disrespected that even a facility that is supposed to be helping, engages in activity that deceives family who are trying to help. This was in evening, a time that no groups are set, & patient usually in bed at this time (7:43 pm) on older adult unit. This was also communicated by patient in call to friend directly before this particular call to me, as i was already aware. Family will understand if staff just gets on the phone & doesn’t lie to family or encourage lying from patient. This only encouraged further harm to family & patient. I work close to BH patients, Social Workers, Nurses, & Psych Doctors. I’m aware of protocol, keeping patients calm, & phone calls that may not go as well as planned, usually do to irritation by patient currently going through a crisis. There was no need to lie. Simply say patient is getting upset about conversation, whatever reason, we are going to stop this call & continue it at another time. This is exactly what I tell patients I’m with during stressful calls, i also make patient and family aware of a prompt end to call if patient gets upset for any reason, as that the patient remaining calm is the hospitals concern. My family, nor am I your enemy. We aren’t the patients enemy. We only want her to get well & have the best chance at succeeding that goal. When facilities fib to family, it sends concerning messages about how serious the care their loved one may be receiving. Whether it’s meant well or not. No reason not to be honest. It just is far more respectful & would’ve shown that my mother is getting care she needs. At this point, after being deceived, it’s hard to trust. Thank you & I really pray this stuff can be addressed & resolved, due to the dire necessity of more efficient mental health facilities & staff everywhere. Hoping for the best out of my concerns. Thx

Don't even bother calling this place. I called to schedule an appointment for mental health and after 10 rings they FINALLY picked up and spoke so fast no one would have been able to understand what they'd said. I'd asked for a specific doctor who was listed in the registry for Blue Cross Blue Shield and the girl said the doctor wasn't there and hung up on me. I called back to make sure this was the correct facility. Don't give good place your time or money. Read the other reviews, too.

This place is the nicest in the valley for youth. We ended up spending a lot of time with a BHT named Ryan who was amazing and really helped us through the process and gave us ease knowing she would be cared for. You could tell how passionate he was about his job that made it a much easier transition. My daughter really connected with a tech named Maui too and LaShaun and her nurses too. All in all things were good. I would recommend teens to go here over other facilities in town we have been to

If you’re struggling with any mental health situations, this is not the place your you. And it may be convenient because it may be the only place in network for insurance, but it should be shut down. A family member is just out of IOP and the quality of care is minimal, the follow up with providers is a joke. This is a poor excuse of a facility that promotes help. 1/10 recommend

My son was struggling with su*c*dal thoughts and his therapist recommended him to stay at Quail Run. He was there for 5 days and feels like he was able to learn valuable coping skills. When he was discharged he was then assigned to IOP and Mrs. Grace became his therapist for group therapy. My son has NEVER liked going to therapy ...but... he has learned so much with Mrs. Grace, he has never complained about going and EVEN asks to go to his group each week! I am noticing that he is finally utilizing his coping skills and starting to think through things that he normally would just react to, get angry or uncontrollable emotions. I appreciate that Mrs. Grace has helped me advocate for my son to be able to stay in his school and help the resource staff at school do what they are supposed to do for students. She has also stayed by his side and recommended further treatment due to another bullying situation at school. She was not quick to "let him go" unlike many other programs he has been a part of. (They seem to be numbers driven while she actually cares for her patients!) I am so thankful that we lucked out and got Mrs. Grace as a therapist for my son!

Worst place my family could have placed me in. Staff was mean and manipulative at the time and I felt so scared to be there I tried to run away and they tazed me with a long cop tazor looking thing. Do not wish this on anyone and if I could go back I wish my family would have done their research before putting in this place that seemed like prison. I slept on a reclining chair the first night after that what I mentioned earlier happened and I was taken Away by an ambulance because they shocked me so long. This happened about 6years ago so I do not know if they have improved but from the reviews they are rated a 3 star so I doubt it. DO NOT GO HERE!

Seems like a decent place to get help. I went in because of financial stress grating to be too much ended up losing my job due to being in their for a week and then lost my apartment shortly after because I was paycheck to paycheck . I’ve been homeless since my credit sits in the low 500s from deferred medical bills I couldn’t keep up with. I went there and regret going every day. The money spent here would’ve gone to better use for a weekend in Vegas . Only go if you really have money and can take time off work or else you put yourself in a worse situation.

Quail Run is an organized facility. Admission takes about 4 hours and you aren’t able to keep any personal items until they are cleared. The staff there mostly are a great group. Frednee, Nate, Deb, Kathleen, Kalinea, Rob, Marisola Ken, Dean, Madeline, Grace, Theresa, Saul. Dr. Fermo was a big help. The bathrooms in the rooms could use a deeper cleaning when I comes to the shower heads. The beds and pillows are uncomfortable. Communication when shifts are being change could be improved. Appreciated everyone there. Thank you.

Quail Run vs Via Linda was such a better experience as a family member and a patient. Although not as new and shiny as Via Linda the communication with family and the patient care received was a different and more involved experience than Via Linda. 👍

This place is horrible worse than jail. No heat. No space. Kindergarten counselors. If you’re thinking of sending someone there find someplace else. Cold and unfriendly. Notice how they address the positive reviews and say the same exact thing to all the negative reviews. That should be a sign right there. They don’t care was sent there in a lottery. I will say staff is caring as much as they can be but they’re sent human garbage every single day. Arizona should really shut this place down.let the people in scrubs find other jobs.

My son spent a week there strictly for depression and emotional support. I think if he stayed longer, he would have been worse off. The schedule we were shown was loosely followed (majority was free time) and the Dr. seemed more interested in shoving pills down his throat than anything else.

Rene here! I want to say, this place did quite well during my stay. I was transferred here from another (really bad) facility in 2020, and everything was good. I only was placed on Safety once, but hey, it helped. If you want to know what it is, Safety is when staff basically have you on surveillance for a day or two, (though I don’t agree with this) taking personal things and sheets, but will give them back after it’s done. Other than that, it was beneficial.
