The food are amazing here. Especially the prawn with tamarind sauce. Their version is amazing, they added cashews and fried onion that just elevate this already popular dish. This is not a fancy restaurant, but it’s clean. Service are fast and friendly. It’s very popular with local customers. Price is also very reasonable.

Incredible food!! If you're in Phuket you absolutely must try this place, they don't skimp out on the chillis so if you can't handle it you should let them know. All the dishes we ordered was so flavoursome and each had its own originality. Amazing food served by lovely people.

Authentic local southern Thai restaurant. The food is exceptionally good. However, we waited for almost one hour to get first plate. (It was during New year holidays.) My fav dish: Jumbo shrimps in tamarind sauce

Great food - Great service! (Heads up: this place has some spicy food and no western food here. It’s great!) I can’t recommend this place any more. Go here and eat as much as you can, you will not regret it. Delicious! We came in a recommendation and wow, this place is great! We ordered way too much, everything was delicious. My standouts were the beetle leaf fish and the mushrooms. Also the prawns were amazing. TBH: everything we had was very good. The service was great, very nice staff and spoke good English if that’s what you need. Also, they had an English menu. Enjoy!

Beatutiful restaurant that feels like a little jungle oasis. The moo hong was insanely delicious! So much pork belly, incredibly tender and juicy in a flavourful broth that’s a bit sweet and just perfect with the meat. Check out our channel for a full review of our experience: Hungry Two Travel.

Authentic southern Thai food. Braised pork belly was really delicious not like many other restaurants who cook it very sweet. Some dishes can be super spicy, so check with the friendly waitress. Most local dine here but they have english menu. Price is very fair here. You must have a car or bike to travel here as the location is away from Phuket old town. They close at 7:30pm, last order is 7:30pm.

Oh wow! The food was great the service was excellent. We tried most dishes we could not get in Europe(Netherlands) like the stinky beans and the spicy minced pork/chicken dish. All dishes tasted unique and even tough it’s spicy you get a burst of flavor that complements goes wel together with it. The waiter warned us to get the minced dish at low spice level, as he even does not eat it at its original spice level. We refused and regretted this but still we yearned for more.

The taste was always consistent every time I visit this restaurant. Recommend to call and reserve a table during peak hours.

By far my most favorite southern Thai cuisine restaurant in Phuket. The ingredients were so fresh and every dish tasted authentic. We were lucky that we didnt have to wait in line and it took around 20 mins for the food to arrive on the table.

Food tastes fantastic. Very authentic southern foods. Also not too salty and sweet. Highly recommended both for locals and foreigners

We went to Nam YOI after seeing it reviewed by Mark Wiens. Let me tell you that it does not disappoint. It seems to be a very popular spot for locals at lunch time. We had Kua Gling Moo, Gaeng tai bpla, and bpla Mon(local fish with chili paste). These were all southern Thai dishes and some local favorites. Everything was totally amazing and especially the Gaeng tai bpla. This is a special dish that is very very spicy and delicious. Most westerners won't try it because it has some peculiar ingredients but I highly recommend going outside your comfort zone and trying true local food. We even brought home some paste for the Gaeng tai bpla to give to my fiance's mom.

Thank you to the chef for making a delicious dinner for us to eat. Everything was prepared with care for the taste of the restaurant or what we call it (its uniqueness). The ingredients are fresh, clean, and cooked correctly. Hot food served hot Cold food served cold Wow. Anyone who comes to Phuket, I highly recommend Nam Yoi restaurant. 👏👏👏 I give 100/10. It's a pity that Google only has 5. I give 10 stars. This is Thai food🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭

The service at the restaurant was painfully slow !! as it took an hour and a half for our food to be served. When we asked the staff about the delay, they did not take any action and simply informed us that there were five orders ahead of ours. It would have been helpful if they had informed us of the delay beforehand, as we could have chosen to eat elsewhere. Unfortunately, this experience ruined our day. The food was average and nothing out of the ordinary. We would not consider dining here again. If possible, it is advisable to choose a restaurant with better service as there are plenty of options available.

Good prices and available ingredients. It's a restaurant that you must eat every time you come to Phuket. Delicious, clean restaurant, selling 2 times a day. Recommend calling to reserve a table in advance on holidays and weekends.

It is a local restaurant in Phuket. Lots of Thai people as a customers. Food: taste was ok. Not that spicy as i expected to eat in Southern. Foods seem to be a bit of salty. However, overall taste still ok. If you didnt like much on spicy, this restaurant will be ok for you. Service: ok, not that bad. Just a bit to slow sometimes. Atmosphere: it an open air restaurant. Quite hot and humid. Good point: price was really ok. Not expensive. Downside: few car park.

Fiery Southern Thai food, long queue and waiting time during weekend. The portion is a bit small.

Maybe i did à wrong order but the food was really not good. The fried catfish was tasteless, and the papaye crab salad, not prépare and had to break the crab by myself, ending with almost no tasteless meat. The badest food i had in.phuket (

Food was fantastic, flavor was perfect & everything cooked to perfection. Very flavorful & special. Definitely the best thai food I have had in my life. The Crab curry was the star among the dishes.

As we landed in Phuket, my Thai parents asked the driver about his favorite area restaurant. He mentioned Nam Yoi. When we arrived at The Westin for our stay, we became friendly with the staff and they mentioned Nam Yoi. We visited and were so impressed by the flavors of all the dishes, but especially the crab curry and crisp shrimp paste with vegetable app. WoW! My parents are over 80 and I have 2 young kids, so the staff went out of their way helping my parents to get seated, walking them to the restroom and just being extra kind. The food easily earned the Michelin awards, but also the kindness.

Highly Recommend if you want to try some typical Southern Thai dishes. Non-Halal. It's a local favourite. Food was full of flavours, and the portion was huge. Free fresh herbs. However, most of the dishes we picked were really spicy, even for me with high spice tolerance. The physical pain is real. My husband said I was trying to kill him 😝. So try balancing it up with something mild. They have English translated menu but do your research on the dish you want to try and ask them. Some of the waiters speak some English. We felt it was actually quite pricey, 4 dishes cost us 760 Bhat for two people. They take only cash. Here is everything we ordered with 2 plates of steamed white rice (40B): Gaeng Som - Southern Thai dish. Very Fiery, Rich, packs a punch, and highly recommend if you can take high spiciness but be warned ⚠️ (200Bhat). Has coconut shoots. River Snails in Betel Leaves - Interesting flavours, Spicy (120B) Khua Kling - Minced Pork. Southern Thai dish. Super spicy too but loved the crunchy texture of the fresh black pepper. (150B) Moo Hong - Phuket Pork Belly Stew. Sweet and Fatty. Delicious. (180B) Fresh Herbs - Free of charge Ice cream - 55B 2 Glasses of water - 15B

Tasty southern food local restaurants. Food was a bit slow as they cook each dish one by one, but it’s worth the wait. So, order as much as you want at first to avoid waiting so long. Service was friendly and attentive. They close pretty early for dinner, make sure to be there by 7:30PM for last order.

Amazing authentic Southern Thai food in a family, simply-looking restaurant recommended by Michelin. It was filled with locals when we came and after the food arrived, I was not surprised why - it was simply great. The waitress was helpful to recommend us the dishes and to suggest us the level of spiciness (don’t play brave and DO NOT order super spicy - that’s what one my friend did and he almost passed out😅). I cannot remember exactly, but we ordered a fish in a tamarind sauce (for me, must-try!), curry with a crab meat, Tom Yum soup and other dishes and everything was A-MA-ZING. It was just beautiful. They also gave us fresh salad, tumeric to ease the chilli. Shame our hotel was located on the other side of the island and it was quite far from there. Otherwise we would definitely go back there to try more :)

The best southern Thai local restaurant! I’ve been there 3times! The quality and freshness always good! You should book a table prior going.

2 out of 3 dishes were good - crab curry with rice noodles and deep fried fish filet with lemongrass. the eggplant seafood salad was strangely sour in some way so we didn’t really enjoy that dish. only locals seem to go here and everyone is nice. i would come back to try more dishes.

Amazing authentic Southern Thai food. It was filled with locals when we came! Food is simply great. The waitress was helpful to suggest us the level of spicy. We still ordered snail dish even though she said that dish has to be hot to be good. And it was beautiful. They also gave us fresh salad, tumeric to ease the chilli. Better come early because the kitchen close around 8PM

Best Thai cuisine I’ve had in a while!! Well known among locals. Very attentive staff. Extremely cheap compared to western standard.

Local southern food. We had the recommended kang som pla which is really tasty (ถึงเครื่องมาก เข้มข้น). The prawn here is hugeeeee - we can Fried prawn with satore (the vegetable used in sourthern cuisine). not too spicy. And bai-liang pad kai, again another vegetable used in soutern cuisine fried with egg - not speical but good as other dishes we chose were quite spicy. The staff warned us to order once as there are usually a lot of people and order more later may cause a long wait time. The toilet here is dry and cleaner than other local thai restaurants so a good job there - with soap for washing hands and paper towel.

🫤 Not worth the money. Food is a 3/5 stars but I gave a 2 stars rating due to how expensive the food is compared to most restaurants in Phuket. The crab curry is essentially crab meat in green curry which did not taste amazing, the rest of the dishes were average and the only thing that was great was...

👍 More like 3.5 stars. This place was packed. But it was like a 15 mins wait for our party of 2. Tried their special dish, Mee Ton Poe. Which was okay, wasn’t what I was expecting. I think the they could’ve seasoned the dish better. What I liked the most was the pork intestine satay and chicken satay....
