Just be aware when u step in to The main shrine you need to take off your shoes!! So today i had chance to go inside and when i stepped to the main shrine maybe just 2 steps an old man yelled at me ‘take of the shoes!’ I didn’t read the sign because it is placed down right below the gate of the main shrine and i didn’t aware of it. Then he starred at me viciously with lots of hate. Just an unpleasant experience and when i read the other reviews it kinda make sense 😸😸 so be aware guys by the way its a beautiful shrine

Very rude staff. I didn’t realise no photos were allowed and he snapped at my incredibly aggressively. I made an honest mistake and that is how I was treated. I did not feel welcome as other foreigners have been made to feel. As I was leaving he cussed and gestured rudely at me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

A smaller shrine down the alley way. Some really intricate carvings on the entrance way and coloured paintings on the walls. Many, many deities in the prayer hall, as well as "No Photo" signs.

I Told Sunset About You brings me here. Calm place but I didn’t recommend to stay too long because it could be uncomfortable to those who wants to pray.

Beautiful little Chinese shrine tucked in a small alley in the heart of the Old Town offers a glimpse of the history of the island and its faithful Chinese immigrants that helped shape the island’s stories, culture, religion and destiny.

Beautiful temple but as with other reviews the man that works there conducts himself in a very intimidating manner. We conducted ourselves as per the signs to cover up respectfully and remove shoes however he followed us around and scowled for no reason. Made it a very uncomfortable experience

Beautiful shrine for a short visit. The uncle watching the shrine was grumpy though.

The ornate temple gate stands out from the street. Located just opposite a restaurant with a giant lobster on the side. There's a stone censer in the middle of the alley with murals on the walls. Didn't notice the 'confrontational' temple caretaker that's described in many of tge reviews.

A small, colourful and peaceful Chinese Shrine. A tranquil pocket in Old Phuket Town good for a short meditation session to pay respect. Nice street passage to keep the noise of the bustling Old Town. Its definitely a nice spot to just to be in peace and take photos. No entrance fee, no smoking, and no shoes in the temple.

Small Chinese temple in the middle of the town in between restaurant area. Came inside for a while for sight seeing and take pictures. Don't forget to take of your shoes if you willing to pray inside the temple.

Went there to pray, entrance is free, but you can make a donation. It has a lot of gods and deities, there are number cards to tell you which one to pray first. I really like it although I don’t normally pray at Chinese templates in Malaysia (my home country), but yeah I like the vibe, not smoky, not busy when I visited.

Colourful. Active and a bit haphazard. Clearly with serious history attached to it.. however.. the shrine looks like it needs more than a coat of paint and a spring clean to get it back to its significant standing in the community.

Tucked off of old town phuket, this beautiful alleyway takes you to a Chinese shrine. It's free of charge and no pictures are allowed inside. Sadly, there was a hidden passage through one of the coffee shops but the closed it bc of too many tourists. Now only way in is through the marked entrance with the Chinese gate.

Nice old Chinese temple but no photograph allowed inside with very rude man and unfriendly lady. Go to Guan Im temple much better.

Small very photographable shrine which also has nice architecture. Expect to spend 5-10 minutes here unless there is something going on.

Nice shrine to do some blessings. Tucked away in the busy streets of old town

The guy is extremely rude, angry and unwelcoming to foreigners. Disgusting attitude and quite shameful way to treat people visiting who are interested in your culture. Maybe the guy is crazy, he started shouting at us and being agressive. Avoid this place

    - We passed by this beautiful shrine by accident. The nicely decorated Chinese gate caught our attention, so we decided to visit. We were not allowed to take pictures, which makes sense as it’s a sacred place. When we were about to leave, it started to rain, so we decided to stay there a while as a shelter from the rain. The old man who guards the shrine offered us an umbrella and warned us that it would keep raining for about an hour and that the water can get pretty high at the entrance. But us stubborn Europeans decided to wait, because it was raining really hard, so he turned on the light for us where we were sitting. Of course he was right: the puddle of water at the entrance was as high as our ankles when we left. We had to take off our shoes and socks to get to the other side of the street. It was quite an adventure, but in the end a funny story. We are very grateful to this man who tried to warn us and help us!

They have a lot of trash/storage on the side so it ruined the cultural experience. It’s by no means a must do, but I mean it’s free so why not go?

Gréât little area with shrines and description of the people who first inhabited the area. No shoes allowed when entering the temple.

Horrible place of staff with the attitude of basically foreigners are not welcome. They are rude and curse at foreigners simply cos they don't want you there. Don't open the place to public if you only want Thai Chinese to come. Definitely avoid this place.

👍👍 We were booked on a catamaran day tour with another company but they changed our tour to another day so we cancelled. We booked a tour with Seastar through a local tour desk - AS tours I think. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the check in location. This was all a little disorganised but...
