Here is my total honest opinion. The hotel itself looks great. When you first see the hotel everything seems great. Pros: •Free Water all the time •Free Bananas Cons: •dirty room!!! There were toe nails laying in the Bathroom from the people before. In generell there were lot of dirt. The Sheets smelled bad. •staff is very unfriendly. They obviously made fun of us because we wanted them to clean up the room again •breakfast - there is legit bread with jam, rice with chicken and cornflakes and fruits (pineapple and banana) All in all I wouldn’t recommend you the hotel. There are better option for even less money! :)

Update : just checked out with no refund as my wife and I felt it would be unhealthy to stay there. The staff was understanding and offered us a change in room to even a bigger room but as the issue is likely in all the rooms, we decided to turn down the offer and simply pay for another night elsewhere. Review: Room had a very bad musky smell that smelled like mold or sewer water. Almost uncomfortable to breathe in. Lucky I only booked one night. I would cancel if it was more than 1. Health is more important. On the good side staff is friendly and the location is really good. 5 min from the night market and town. But the room smell is honestly unbearable. Smells like you are in an old cupboard and you open up the door to a toilet.

I really like the hotel, nice pool and rooms. The location is good. The reason i gave 3 stars is because the hotel advertising himself as working hub, but if you want to work there you will soon find our it is extremely hot because they don't turn on the air conditioner. If you want AC you need to pay for it, it is ok to pay, but they only accept payment for AC for the entire day, so if you want to work for few hours, why do I need to pay for the entire day??? Really disappointed

Overall good. Clean rooms , decent breakfast, quiet location, can walk to many locations of interest. Great pillows. Needs a towel rack on balcony, needs a small fridge, rather have the ceiling fan inside room instead of on balcony. Good staff

My friend booked this place for me and I had no idea how this place would be. The location is in the middle of the city and they provide car park in front of the hotel. I like the decoration and the staff friendliness. The room is OK with an extra bath tub at the balcony. The bed is super big and very soft, which I like. Aircon works well, as well as the warm shower. There is also a small fridge for n the room. Breakfast (???) is crackers, banana, instant coffee, tea, orange juice and apple juice. The pool is quite small. Downstairs is where I find some foreigners working on their laptop as this hotel provides a lot of tables and chairs. The room rate (as my friend told me to pay him) is quite pricey.

We had a really cool bath tub in the balcony. The bedroom was great, huge and very comfortable bed. Very nice and new hotel (with an elevator!). 1 minute walk to the bus station, which was really convenient. Also, very close to Old Pucket. They have free self service of bananas, small bottles of water and crackers. Nice service but difficult to communicate through English.

Fantastic staff and location! Super close to old town, lots of great food. Doy at the front desk was super kind and helped us enjoy Phuket during our stay. Clean room, amazing staff, no complaints here.

This place was great value for money, and the staff super pleasant. We arrived very early, and they gave us access to our rooms straight away. It is not a huge resort, more of a small friendly boutique hotel. Breakfast was basic, but substantially more than a Continetal breakfast option. Certainly sufficient, and included bacon and egg option, cerals, plus other Asian options. The rooms were large and clean, and everything in the Old Town was withing easy walking distance.

The second blu monkey we have stayed in and it's easy to say that this is the best franchise in Thailand , each hotel being equally unique . The staff were so helpful , we required assistance a few times and in each instance they managed to help us or did the best they could . The design was unique but still had a modern edge to it . The room was very big , and had a bath on the balcony with a fan above it which was a lovely additional feature. The housekeepers were also very attentive , always greeted us and were very polite in general also called us back because we left some headphones . One of the best places to stay in the area , we always love blu monkey well worth it and a great experience !

Do not trust or use this hotel for Thailand pass as they have no clue what they are doing. Rejected us because they couldnt find the appointment that we had prepaid on thailandpsas.com. We even tried communicating with them but i guess they don’t understand how that works. You will lose the money you have spent on your flight and PCR tests if you book this hotel.

Stayed here for three nights in the Phuket Sandbox and absolutely loved it! Location is perfect for exploring Phuket Town and many great restaurants are in walking distance. The hotel itself is very stylish and targeted at a younger crowd and was very affordable. My room had a bathtub on the balcony which was amazing. The ground floor with the reception, the co-working area, the pool and the laundry facilities was fantastic to spend some time working. There were so many plants around, it was a great atmosphere. Will be back for sure! Also, they had free unlimited bottled water, apple juice and orange juice (especially the latter tasted fantastic!) as well as bananas.

SEWAGE & BEDBUGS. Do not stay here. The rooms smell of sewage so bad that it makes you sick. Staff pretend there isn’t an issue. We were moved to a second room but the second room was worse 🤢 Staff are rude, condescending and unhelpful. The air conditioner will continually stop working for hours at a time. Everything in the room is damp and floors are wet. Hallways pitch black at night because I guess they refuse to turn on the lights? The WIFI is unusable. By far the most disgusting and worst place I’ve ever stayed.

The staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast was dissapointing, if you came 30min before breakfast ended, there was no kitchen staff refilling the food, and very small food choice. The pool and hotel is located by sewage and the smell on balcony is horrible. We had room with the bathtub on the pool and we didnt use it. The sink is in the room and was falling apart. TV is not smart. The furniture needs some renovation. You only got 1 keycard, so while you are away, you couldnt charge your phone in the room. The room wasnt realy clean. Also there is no isolation so you can hear everything from other rooms and the corridor.. definitely not a hotel for 4 stars!

Love to be back again at blue monkey. Very comfortable bed and extremely good sleep. The staff are very helpful and kind. Good location in city of Phuket.

    - Noisy walk way and door closing noise all the night. Unable to sleep peacefully - Tiny toilet and unstable temperature of shower - Noisy air conditioner - No fridge - No assistance on parking allocation (when full), the staff told us to park in places nearby (but it’s all full!) There will be no second chance for this hotel and for me it does not worth any pennies. Highly not recommended.

We chose the Blue Monkeys Hotel in Phuket, Thailand, based on its reviews, but it turned out to be the worst experience we have ever had in Thailand. The rooms were very congested, and the toilets were clogged; even the sink was blocked. Additionally, the building was poorly maintained. We never felt comfortable using the kettle, and the shower facilities were not working properly.

My first time here, and I can’t fault the place at all. The staff are very hospitable and welcoming and i had no faults with the room. The location is definitely one of the major benefits as it’s just a quick 5 min walk to the night market and centre of town. And for the price - i would certainly be returning.

A smell from toilet or drainage all the time. This is normal for this hotel. I experienced the smell every time I stay here. No more unlimited bottles of water. But some juice / crackers and bananas are still available. You can also refill water from the water dispenser on G floor. Safety is good. Key card system. Make sure you can lock the balcony door. Guests were shouting at balcony and the hallway at 2 am. Perhaps it's just not my lucky day.

This is the hotel we found temporarily, which is more expensive than booking online. The man at the front desk seems to look down on us. We just need a place to take a short rest and catch a plane. But I was asked to check the room first when I checked out. This is the first time that we have met this situation in so many hotels in Thailand. Whether it is out of discrimination or charging high prices, it makes us very unhappy. The price in the store is similar to that on the Internet, but it is a different room type. We checked out the night we checked in to catch the plane. The store also called today to ask if we would check out. Your hotel staff did not seriously hand over the work, but came to question the customers. The man at the front desk, please change your attitude!

Great prices , 10,000 baht month- good pool, location. Sailing port nearby. Can beat all the old restaurants - been here 3 weeks and the bathrooms have major sewer gas smells. Very DANGEROUS- BEWARE

Dark unhandy rooms, a bathtub on the terrace but only plugs by one bedside, no soap to wash your hands. Staff is not friendly. The breakfast was very poor, only Thai food while they are having a lot of tourists. The mean image that will remember or this hotel is unfriendliness which is in big contrast of anywhere else in Ive been in Thailand.

Where to start I really wanna give a honest review First of all the location of the hotel is good near to the Phuket old town just 5 min walk .. and it has a car park ( buttttt be early when you wanna park otherwise other people will park at the hotel car park and then you have to park somewhere eles and walk quite far ) The hotel got free water downstairs at the reception with oranges juice and sometimes apple juice wich you can freely get your self . The concept of the hotel is actually okay it also a got a nice swimming pool and a washing machine where you can wash your chlothes But here comes the negative things The rooms are quite run down , the rooms had dust everywhere … the rooms looked very used .. should have repaid or fixed it better … We had choose the room with the bathtub but it was a disaster when we wanted to put hot water inside it all came brown water out with a lot of dirt wich is a total no go .. when we went to the reception there send us a Mechanik at around 2pm … He once told us to not use the hot water at all cause the brown water will come out from the hot water … when we went downstairs there only said sorry but that’s it … so we went to phuekt old town and got a call at 8.30pm that it’s not really fixed and we can use only cold water … wich is a total no Go … So we spend more money on a room with a bathtub wich we can’t even use if we would know that we would just book the normal room and save money on that … all we got from the reception was a sorry and that’s all no fixing the problem but guess there were tired as the hotel was fully booked and there also had a big meeting In there community space It was a total fail for us … we felt very bad as we actually stayed in other blue monkeys branches in Thailand before …. 2 stars for the location …. Will I Comeback .. a big maybe

Ok hotel, but nothing more. Dark rooms and not particulary clean. Small pool. Bad breakfast. View to a dirty/dry river. Noisy AC. Location was good if you want to visit old Town Phuket. We were staying only one night on our way to Phi Phi, wouldnt reccomend longer stays, espescially not with Kids. Beds were good.

The bed is very good. Hospitality is good. The one thing that bothers me is the light at the sink in front of the bathroom is so dark and abusive to my face and to have my make up on. I hope they will change it to brighter light.

Pro's: -Good location - free bananas and water -Comfy bed Cons: -room was dirty with dust everywhere. Our sink was cracked and our bedsheets had stains and rips on them. We stayed for 2 weeks and I think our sheets were only changed once. - Good luck working remotely in this place, WiFi in the room was extremely slow IF it was working at all. Same goes for the WiFi in the "co working space". - smart TV had to be manually connected to the WiFi everytime you turned it on. - really bad smell of sewage around the pool area, made it really difficult to stay down there for any length of time. Pool was not in great condition either lights missing and such. - co working space was basically used as a communal space for people eating and drinking. Doors are constantly open meaning the air con does not work and anyone smoking outside blew the smoke inside. - gym was barebones at best, treadmill was ripped in the middle. - corridors too the rooms are really loud and makes it hard to sleep as you can hear everything

Had a good stay, the room was clean, smells a lot like detergent. Comfortable beds, no bed bugs, tv was broken. Gym is small and devices are broken, coworking space is fine, slightly hot (no ac) most of the time. Friendly staff

This is a tough one to review. The rooms are perfectly adequate (the stark interior lighting being the only downside). It’s more of a mix of families and couples staying here than anything else and the “cowork” are can feel like a daycare centre sometimes. Breakfast is okay (but no warm vegetarian options). Overall it’s nice with a few little quirks

  • 4/5 Melody T. 1 year ago on Google
Positive points: Location is great. And there are free bananas and drinks (water, apple and orange juice) everyday at the lobby. The decoration is all in black and white, which is really cozy. And good service, my AC is not working and they repair immediately. Negative points: The floor is sticky and wet. The sink area is dark especially at night. And the bed is too soft, I don't really like it.

Clean and comfortable room (for Thai standards). Nice and stilish facilities with a cool interior and nice small swimming pool. Breakfast isn’t great. Very friendly reception

Nice and quiet hotel. Bed was very comfortable unlike most hotels in Thailand very hard. Also there are 4 pillows which I perferred.Small balcony with ceiling fan. Downside was the toilet with sewage smell. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Friendly personell and great that water is complimentary, as much as you want. Awesome vibe downstairs with the coworking facility. You can get to know digital nomads really quick, the bathtub on the balcony was amazing and the pillows are like heaven. Very good beds, only the river next to the facility smells a bit

  • 2/5 Alex S. 2 years ago on Google
The negatives: - WiFi in my room was either slow or didn't work altogether. Had to go to the co-working space on the first floor. - I got locked out of my room, a technician "fixed" it by replacing discharged batteries with other discharged batteries. Got locked out again in a few hours. Had to replace the batteries myself. - The shower head was too heavy for the holder, so it was falling out all the time. - It was humid in the room even with windows closed and AC on. The bed felt moist when I checked in. - The gym is a joke The positives: - The co-working space was nice. - Staff were friendly

  • 2/5 Ron T. 1 year ago on Google
we could walk to very limited locations, bars etc however it was extremely hot. The staff were helpful, the rooms were left wanting, just shelving, no cubboards and no in room refrigerator. the bed was excellent. Good for backpackers I think.

  • 2/5 Eerik K. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel itself looks quite modern and well-maintained on the outside but service, breakfast, cleanliness and for example pool area are lacking. The rooms are dark and simple. AC can only be set on one setting and it brings dust into the room. Pros: Good beds, the design of the hotel, the bathtub on the balcony, free water bottles, location Cons: Miserable breakfast (worst we have ever seen, not even joking!), cleanliness in the rooms, pool (very small and shaded almost all day), some staff members are unpolite, In sum, the hotel looks better in descriptions than in reality. Not worth the money we paid. They should identify as a low budget hotel with no breakfast or drastically improve the breakfast and the service.

Clean and friendly staff. Love the bathtub in the balcony and the communal workspace. Perfect for a working holiday! As a bonus, the communal workspace includes free coffee, tea, Milo (yes! Milo) and fresh bananas!

Great location. The hotel located in the centre of phuket city near phuket old town and many famous restaurants. The accommodation is clean, secured and staffs are friendly. But the room is not soundproof, I can hear the guests conversation while they’re walking in the hallway.

Blu Monkey was honestly a last minute booking for us. We are very glad that we did. Doy was super helpful every single time we needed something. The rooms, the decor, the ambience, even the other guests were super awesome. Just wish the shallow end of the pool was a bit bigger (only because I can't swim, my wife loved it). We also loved the board games in the common area! Blu Monkey along with Doy and her team will be our top recommendations in Phuket.

We stayed at blue monkey hub after staying in blu monkey krabi and loved it it was incredible as expected, we were amazed at how lovely the staff was and the impeccable service. The ladies at the reception are always willing to help no matter what, especially Tik she helped us with checking out and finding our headphones that we left behind. And also the lady that cleaned our rooms she always made sure to say good morning and was just so kind everyone always made our day. The rooms are spacious and clean we had one with a bath on the balcony which was a great touch. When we come back to Thailand we will definitely stay again. Blu monkey is the best !!!
