In such a small town like Vrede,the only thing memorable is their hospitality. The warmth and love you experience makes you forget you are a visitor.Well like any other place,there is always a downside,for Vrede Hotel it has to be the breakfast team.Gosh they were so slow,could be that they were overwhelmed with the work,but I was really not impressed with their service,they can learn a thing or two from the front office-cum- restaurant stuff.The food is divine ,oh and their menu is quite vast.Overall the hotel has such a warm atmosphere and welcoming too...I enjoyed my stay

In all fairness, the town does not have a lot to offer. This hotel gives the town some life, to a degree. The room was clean, whoever, it would be nice if a deep cleaning of the carpets can be done maybe one or twice a year just to take away the old carpet-odour. With that said, it was not putting off. Loved the quality of the furniture all round. The sheets are white and clean - no issues there. The bed didn't make squeaky noises it's was a good balance of soft and firm. The restaurant served delicious dinner. Lastly, the ladies at reception were very helpful.

We stated over only for one night. The rooms are not bad. They need some tlc especially room 22 where the cornice come away from the wall and dirt fall through as well as the lace curtains are torn/old. Not saving the rooms are bad but basic upkeep is essential. Service is good. We had breakfast in the morning which was not bad. With a bit of slight TLC to the rooms it will make the world of difference.

1st time ever in this town. Came in late at night and needed food. Stopped at Vrede hotel and bar. Man! What a surprise! It's so beautiful and very clean! The food was stunning and a healthy portion! I highly recommend if you need to stay over that you pop in here. I'm sure their rooms are as neat as the bar, reception and toilets. Definitely will come back here in the near future. Oh! And they didn't roll up the white line nor the main street either. The pictures prove it!

Went for birthday celebration. Friendly warm professional welcome . Food tasty and well prepared. Staff excellant.

They were fully booked, so we only had dinner. Fantastic Malay lamb Curry and Cordon Blue Chicken. Very friendly and professional. Helped us to a guest house for overnight.

Cost effective. Good breakfast.

Reception guy was unwelcoming. He was checking us in as if he was not interested. We were served by a rude waitress and spoiled our stay with her attitude. She gave preference to white customers and when we reported her to the manager, the manager undertook to speak to her. No apology was received from the waitress, only from the manager. Honestly would not recommend it.

Grew up in Vrede and the new hotel was a pleasant experience with friendly staff and very helpfull

What a wonderful experience! The rooms are spacious, clean, very comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They made the stay so pleasant. There are so many wonderful common areas and the food is lovely! Highly recommend!
