Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel - it’s very reasonably priced for how nice the rooms are. All the staff were lovely. Wonderful balconies to watch the sunsets, or bask in the sun by the pool. Lovely food at the restaurant. The owners are great to chat to and are very knowledgable about the island. We will definitely be coming back next time we come to Dominica for another adventure!!

A home away from home. 2 adults and a 3-years old. A warm welcome upon arrival and true and genuine attention during our 4-nights stay. Amazing staff, great cook(s) that catered for all special request we had. Rooms are good, clean, well equipped and have an amazing view fron the balcony. Apart from the staff, the Dutch owners Lise & Hans will do everything in their power to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Travel advice, good conversations, a good laugh…a thoughtful present for our daughter at Christmas’ Eve…and some fuel for our rental when there was a national gas shortage. Long story short…we highly recommend staying at The Champs and hope to come back some day! Love and appreciation to the staff!

We stayed here and it was really an excellent experience, quiet, peaceful and tranquil were the surroundings. The staff and their level of attention to detail exceeded any 5 star accomodation I have stayed in before. Tammy and Sabrina took great care of us during the day and Thani (evening chef) provided fresh local cuisine for us to sample. The menu had great variety and she was alway ready to customize anything to our desire. There were other guest while we were there but we always were made to feel like we were the only guest they had. We miss them and would choose this hotel again if we had to visit Dominica. The owners aim for you to leave as friends and indeed this is how we felt. Thank you!!

A must stay place in Portsmouth that I will surely visit again. Lise and her staff are some of the best hosts on the island. They are extremely knowledgeable about what there is to do around Portsmouth and had great advice for traveling in Dominica. I cannot thank them enough for organizing such an extensive list of activities to do in the area. Not only was the food delicious, but it was fresh and from local ingredients. The rooms, restaurant, and pool all have a spectacular view across the land to the sea. Perfect for those who enjoy a picturesque sunset.

The owners say hello and that's about it. Her and her husband sat there one evening with another couple and were so loud. Don't recall her and her husband wearing a mask. The three ladies in the restaurant were lovely. Dinner too expensive. Didn't really like the place, in need of of some TLC, the swimming pool looked like a big paddling pool and there's nothing to do up Picard. No decent restaurants and the hill is a horrible walk back up. Wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend it.

These were our best meals on the island. Lise and her staff do a wonderful job of utilizing the local ingredients to bring a very fresh and delightful meal together. We dined here twice as they change the menu based on what is available and actually made a request of ours to plate a Lion Fish Cerviche. As per other posts, Lise is a very good resource for recommending your island activities. Very nice view.

The hotel is in an ideal location, with a great view overlooking both nature and buildings , the staff is very welcoming and the food tastes excellent. Definitely deserves 5 start .

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. The staff was kind, friendly, and very helpful with recommendations of nightlife. The food was DELICIOUS and the view from the dining area was beautiful. The room was clean but needed upgrades. The one downfall- roaches in the room. I reported it to the staff and nothing was done to fix the problem nor did they offer any additional accommodations or partial refund. I didn’t sleep for days. I’m giving 3 stars simply because I love the island and the people on it, and don’t like to hurt small businesses.

We just arrive to our east coast accommodation and we already miss our west coast stay! We spent there 3 nights. Amazing view of sea, Cabrits national park peninsula and town, beautiful clean room, great staff... Walking distance to town, but we had dinner at hotel every night as they have amazing chef. There is longer wait for meals, but at least we knew it was cooked freshly and not taken from freezer and re-heated. We had included breakfast, which was also very tasty. Close to Cabrits, beaches, mountains. Would definitely stay again. If you are looking for hotel, this is it.

The service was amazing. The food was even more amazing. 10 out 10. Communication was 10/10. We were served by Tammy (unsure if it's spelt correctly) and 100% best service. Tammy's warm personality made us feel right at home. We could feel the meals were made with love.

We decided to visit Dominica for our anniversary. Our stay at The Champs Hotel as ideal. Sabrina was delightful and made it a great experience. The room came with a free breakfast. Very tasty, I must add. We got great suggestions on places to visit and things to do. The room of itself was clean and comfortable. The hotel is located in Portsmouth about an hour drive from the airport. An affordable, cozy spot.

Words can’t even describe my stay at The Champs Hotel. It was literally GOD sent.😊I was in a bind and when I was searching for a hotel in Portsmouth they came up first on the list, and I booked right away without reading the reviews. After I booked Sabrina sent me a message right away and I knew this was a going to be a wonderful hotel from my initial interaction with her. She even stayed later to make sure I was checked in and all set!Props to Sabrina!! You Rock! Lise and Hans, the owners of the place welcomed me with open arms, and made this experience Amazing!! I appreciate them very much and now have new friends for life! Last but not least(TAMMY) you are the crown jewel, you made this experience so easy and simple for me, your smile and your service is unmatched, and it made me believe there are great people in this business and I appreciated everything you did for me. It was my boyfriends birthday and they surprised us with balloons and a happy birthday poster up on the bed! There were rose petals and all. Attention to detail was clearly there and I appreciate what they did :) Lisa (the owner) is super kind and accommodating, I’m always extremely comfortable when I go there. This is my third time this year alone and I’ll gladly be back. ☺️

Absolutely loved this place! I cannot say enough about the staff - they get to know you, are insanely friendly, excellent customer service, and make the stay all the more fun. The owner is fabulous and truly enjoys the company of her visitors and goes above and beyond to make sure everything meets your needs. Restaurant is 10/10. Highly recommend!
