👍 Went to The Social last night for the first time. The atmosphere was great! Very warm and inviting. Encounters with staff for the most part were great. Food was phenomenal! Everything was rich with flavour and portions were good for the price you pay (with exception of the soup). The only concern... Went to The Social last night for the first time. The atmosphere was great! Very warm and inviting. Encounters with staff for the most part were great. Food was phenomenal! Everything was rich with flavour and portions were good for the price you pay (with exception of the soup). The only concern our group had was our appetizers (French onion soup & bruschetta) came out at the same time as our main meal. Even though we did not ask for this. There was no room on our table and we were left to figure out if we eat the appetizers or our main meal first. Which meal were we going to eat cold….On top of it the French onion soup bowl wasn’t even half filled. Certainly was not worth $12 (even though it did taste good for the little we got). We did as to speak with the manager, Henry. Let me say Henry was amazing!!!! He immediately acknowledged our concerns and he wanted to make sure to rectify the situation! Henry went above and beyond to ensure we come back! This was customer service like none other!!! Our server also came and apologized to us for the appetizer mishap! For our mains we had lasagna, hunters chicken, jerk chicken pasta, and basil pesto chicken pasta. All I can say is wow! Food was so tasty! I will definitely come back and would recommend this place to others!

Warm welcome from staff upon entering. My menu was ripped which took away from the first time experience of visiting The Social which was disappointing to see at a fairly new establishment. There was an unknown substance on my straw which was replaced with a fresh glass of water and new straw. The calamari was perfectly cooked and presented very well. The double cheese burger with bacon was very well done and the thicker bacon was a great touch. Caesar salad was pretty good the crunchy toppings (only 2 pieces) were not entirely crunchy, but everything else in the salad was good. Overall pretty decent trendy spot with a great size patio.

I recently dined at The Social Bar & Lounge on Aug. 3, 2023, for dinner and had an overall enjoyable experience, though there were a few aspects that could be improved. Let me share my thoughts on the evening. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted and seated, which was a positive start to the evening. However, there were a couple of initial issues that caught our attention. One of the straws provided with the water was dirty, and the menus we received were in poor condition – ripped and sticky with what appeared to be food residue. This aspect was disappointing as it affected the overall first impression. Moving on to the food, we started with the Fried Calamari from their "Start & Share" options. The buttermilk marinated calamari, combined with herbs and spices, provided a delightful blend of flavors. The accompaniments of pickled red chilies and garlic aioli added a tangy kick that complemented the dish perfectly. It was a great choice and set a high standard for the rest of the meal. For my main course, I opted for the Jerk Chicken Alfredo with fresh linguini pasta, alfredo sauce, sautéed onions, pickled red chilies, and scallions. I must say that this dish did not disappoint. The jerk chicken was well-seasoned and tender, while the alfredo sauce was rich and creamy. The combination of sautéed onions and pickled red chilies added an exciting burst of flavors to the overall dish. It was a true highlight of the evening, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Despite the delectable dishes, there were a few service-related issues that impacted the dining experience. Our server seemed somewhat inattentive, as we had to flag her down for more napkins and we nerver got drink refills. Additionally, the timing of bringing out the main courses while we were still enjoying our starter was less than ideal, leading to a somewhat rushed feeling during the meal, and our main dish sitting and cooling down. Another aspect that needs attention is the cleanliness of the washrooms. It is essential for any restaurant to maintain hygienic facilities, and in this regard, there is room for improvement at The Social Bar & Lounge. In conclusion, The Social Bar & Lounge offers a mix of delightful dishes with bold and exciting flavors that satisfy the taste buds. The Fried Calamari and Jerk Chicken Alfredo were both exceptional and left a lasting impression. However, attention should be given to the overall presentation and cleanliness, including the condition of the menus and washrooms. Improving the service to ensure guests' needs are attended to promptly would also elevate the dining experience. With some necessary adjustments, The Social Bar & Lounge could become an even more outstanding destination for food and socializing.

The Social was a decent spot. Dined here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Sat on the patio instead of inside. We ordered the halloumi burger (don’t be fooled i thought this was a beef burger with halloumi cheese) should have read the menu more throughly. Also ordered the Cobb salad. They were out of a lot of items, their house beer, Diet Coke, few other items. Would return to try other items.

The atmosphere, food and most of the drinks were great. The bartenders knew their mixology and it showed in the drinks. Great place to hangout, chill or go out on a date. We had the bruschetta which was good, and the southern fried chicken sandwich which was also delicious. Only downside is that it is a bit pricey. I can foresee them doing well by implementing daily drink and food specials.

Went yesterday for happy hour. Amazing deals on apps and we sampled a bunch of excellent food. The service was great, beautiful decor. The brushetta was perfection- perfect balance of crisp to fresh toppings. Tokyo drift wings- best thing we tried, fantastic flavors still crisp even with the sauce and light kewpie drizzle, it's a must. Guac- great flavors, came with like pico and marinated red onion. Could use a dash of salt or hot sauce but honestly very fresh and would get again. Lastly we got honey garlic wings- nice and crisp not too sweet, not sure i would get again maybe just got over shadowed by tokyo drift tho. Would def recommend this cute place especially if you can make it to happy hour and sample a bunch of things.

Wonderful dine in experience here, been dying to come since it opened. Tackled the appetizers this time around. The Bruchetta is a must have, it is perfection. The Honey Garlic Wings are just the right balance of sweet and sour, Lemon Pepper wings were my favorite, nice and crispy. The Shrimp Tacos were melt in your mouth, puts Bar Burrito to shame lol. Cant wait to come back, excellent experience dining in, have to try the happy hour in the week as suggested by staff. Keep up the awesome work!

Went during lunch time today. Tried the jerk chicken alfredo pasta with a side of poutine and southern burger with a side of Cesar salad. Tasted great and will definitely come back to try some of the other dishes.

My husband and I went out for a date after a long time, and we chose this restaurant. It was our first time here, and it didn't disappoint. The place was busy when we arrived, but we had a reservation, so it was fine. Sat in the bar area, Jaidyn was our server, and she was also making the bar drinks. She was doing a good job. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu, and their happy hour menu has a few offerings, but theres a mix of everything. The wine glass was not clean when it was served to us, but Jaidyn fixed that issue for me. The food was good, we had the bombay wings and they were super spicy so be mindful before ordering them. Mac & Cheese was tasty, and so were the truffle fries and the Buffalo wings. The manager Jay stopped by at the table, he was very friendly. Overall, we had a good time. Will return again.

Visited The Social for the first time on a Thursday, and have to say, really really liked this place, will be coming back, and highly recommend for dining with your sports buddies, family, or on a date night. Inside it is very welcoming with a great buzz of energy from being welcomed, seated and ordering our food. There’s a restaurant and a bar area, with one huge screen TV and a variety of others around if just keeping an eye on the game. They also have happy hour and specials. It was the Old Fashioned special that night and the cocktail was awesome! If you care more about the food you’re eating, you will not be disappointed. We got the Truffle Fries, Mushroom Flatbread and Jerk Chicken Alfredo. Best Jerk Chicken Alfredo ever…yep I liked it that much, and if you want a little spice in your pasta, you will too!

We had a great time. We sat at the bar for drinks and dinner as we didn't have a reservation , all the tables were booked. We really had fun at the bar, the staff were terrific and totally made the experience special, the cocktails were perfectly mixed.

I came here with a group of seven ladies for a birthday celebration. Definitely get the nachos! We also enjoyed the Tokyo drift wings, the calamari and the mushroom flatbread. Our server Peter was amazing and super attentive the entire time. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

What an amazing experience at The Social. Tastefully decorated and good ambiance. Jade, our waitress was friendly and professional. She provided wonderful suggestions from the menu and was attentive to all our needs. We ordered from the appetizer menu as they were half price for happy hour (3-6pm). Each selection was better than the next. Our table of 3 shared the following: 1. Clam Chowder (soup changes daily) 2. Hoisin Beef Nachos 3. Fried Brussel Sprouts 4. Tokyo Drift (wings) 5. Dessert- Ube Cheesecake We will be back to work through trying everything on the menu. Amazing job to Head Chef Carmelo and his team.

I've been waiting for this place to open. Visited twice already and the food is excellent. We had a big group so we tried a bunch of apps and everything we ate was delicious. I love the nachos and the Tokyo drift wings the most but we also had Flatbread and calamari and it was excellent. They have a bunch of tvs. The bar is very clean and modern. Love the vibe. It's close by home so I'll be back many many times.

Food was amazing here. I ordered a sirloin steak rare and they nailed it. The herb crusted salmon was perfectly cooked too, it wasn't overdone. Cocktail and the ube cheesecake was delicious. The restaurant is pretty open so noises echos a lot. There was a game or party going on the night I went so maybe that's why it was a bit loud. I had to raise my voice to talk to my husband. The seating was comfortable.

Been here a few times since it’s been open. Great food and friendly staff. The reason why I’ve rated this place a 3 stars is because none of their bathrooms have a change table. We’re in 2023 and it’s a family restaurant. They have 10 high chairs but no change table. Our waitress was kind and empathetic. We were scrambling to figure out where to change him

This place just opened up recently and was thoroughly impressed by the cocktails, large portioned appetizers (recommend the flat bread) and dessert (both were seriously out of this world)!

If you haven’t been yet, I HIGHLY recommend trying The Social Bar & Lounge. My friend and I went to grab a drink, but found out it was half price apps from 3pm-6pm, so naturally we had to get all of the food!!! The service was amazing. The bartender MJ would check on us regularly, joke around with us, great conversation. Owners came and introduced themselves and chatted. Left a lasting impression. The food? Hit it out of the park! We learned that all of the food is made from scratch, and you can tell by the quality and taste. We tried the Hoisin Beef Nachos, fish tacos, and beef brisket poutine. Fantastic food at a great price. We will definitely be going back to try more!

The decor is quite nice inside. We went during their happy hour! The nachos were amazing. Calamari was super crispy. The buffalo wings had the perfect amount of spice.

Tried it for the first and loved everything in the menu! Apps have generous portions. Tried the shrimp flatbread and hoisin beef nachos. The nachos is not your typical corn tortillas but deepfried wontons. It is a huge difference and sooo good! The flatbread is very tasty too, delicious!! We ordered grilled chicken, herb-crusted salmon, rib tower and seafood linguini. Good portions as well for all mains. Everything tasted great. Actually there was a minor mishap. They served me spaghetti pomodoro instead of the seafood linguini. They knew they screwed up so my linguini was delayed while the rest of the group has been served their mains. Good thing I was full from the apps. By the time my seafood linguini arrived, I was told it’s on the house. Nice call :) from the resto. Lastly we ordered the ube cheesecake to go! OMG to die for 😋. For sure we will be back!! We will try their Happy Hour next time.

Decor was very appealing with a beautiful bar and very nice tables. The food was incredible.....not just good......incredible! Price point was typical for bar/lounge menu. Tuscan Sandwich was very good. The vegetarian Halloumi Sandwich/Burger.....was.......a tasty experience that will be awesomely remembered forever for a vegetarian choice! The BEST part......was the homemade UBE Cheesecake.....Wow!!!!!!!! The Chef came to our table to say 'Hello' and was very nice to talk to. Don't miss out on this little gem of a spot! Definitely will make a special trip to eat there again all the way from Orangeville!

Our Dine-in experience at The Social was ‘AMAZING’. We really enjoyed that there was a lot of adequate space between seatings, the lighting and vibe was very nice, the owners and staff were super friendly and ensured to check in with us multiple times and most importantly, THE FOOD!! We got 4-5 items from their menu but their portions were so generous that we ended up taking home left over food as well! We got these from their menu: - Bruschetta - Hoisin Beef Nachos - Pesto Chicken Pasta - Brisket Grilled Cheese - Ube Cheesecake I highly recommend you try all of these especially the cheesecake! Everything was amazing and we will definitely be going more frequently. Thanks for blessing the Durham Region with your food! 🤌🏽
