This place used to be great. The bagels are undercooked, the staff unfriendly and the place was dirty. We went at 10 am and the bagel bin selection was almost empty. I can't recommend this place any longer.

I’d ordered specialty bagels from here 3-4 times and EVERY-TIME I’ve gotten a stale bagel. The Ajax location is WAY better..

Why do they close at 2pm. No selection of bagels. They baked not enough product. You can’t sell from a empty shelf. It’s ridiculous. Are you in business to look after your customers or convenience for yourself. Find new people who want to work. It makes no sense closing at 2 in the afternoon and never having enough bagels to sell. It looks like you’re going out of business. Find new owners. Won’t be back EVER.

Clean,nice and friendly, quick service and lots choices sandwiches. The great Canadian bagel pickering it is the place to go for good and delicious sandwiches.

I visited this place this morning. Their fresh bagels are amazing. Lots of choice in bagels as well as sandwiches. Loved their coffee. They have outdoor sitting options too. Price is pretty reasonable. $18 for 2 coffee and 2 bagels with various options of cream cheese. Woulf love to visit again. They have vegetarian options too.

The bagel was good, but at just under $ 8 for a bagel with cream cheese is really expensive. To be fair it was a specialty bagel, but that seems to have a slice of cheese added to the top ? anyways too rich for my blood to come back here at $8 for a bagel with cream cheese

I’m heading there now for breakfast and hope all these reviews are not as I read. I take a bagel with no veggies cus of stomach issues. Ajax puts in extra bacon instead of veggies lol. 5 stars for now until I return. 2stars now. K I’m back and I now know the difference between Ajax and this one, Ajax is tan by an older couple and they decorate the store and bring life into it with flowers/plants and the place is spic and span clean. Plus they are well lit and have soft music unlike this Pickering one. You still get your sandwich but not the cleanest at the seating area and looks like a dungeon lol why does it feel like you just opened but not really ? And change your gloves. Why you touching iPad for the virtual order and then the meat ? But then Again McDonald’s and others touch everything so….. there you have it. Sandwich YES but like grandmas basement feel YES.

Just picked up a dozen assorted Bagels and cream cheese. I drove 20 minutes as I used to love this location in Pickering. However it looks like the ownership has changed recently as the service was below par. This lady was rushing while I was trying to pick the flavors as she had two more customers in line and couldn't not handle the rush " of total 3 customers" 😂

The spinach bagel I had was SO good. I’m not even that big of a bagel person but it was so flavourful and fresh especially with the herb and garlic cream cheese I got it with. The staff were very friendly and helpful too! Overall really nice establishment and it was a delicious breakfast.

Loved the selection of bagels with genuine service (hard to find nowadays). The breakfast bagels are so good especially with the avocado topping. Great breakfast and lunch options!

Since the son of the owner took over this business, this is the worse place ever. I don't know why they post store hours. If it says 7:30 am, go at 8:00 am, if it says 8:00 am, go at 9:00 am. Terrible way to run a small business. I wonder what the Great Canadian Bagel franchise would say about this store.

I've been having a craving for bagel with cream cheese, salmon and capers. This bagel shop didn't disappoint. It was amazing. I also think I had a missed connection as well but that's another story.

The store was very clean and I was served quickly and courteously. I ordered the BLT Bagel, it was fresh and they put a generous portion of bacon on the bagel. Overall, great place for a quick bit to eat with friendly serve.

Great-tasting, freshly-baked bagels! But this store might want to remove the "store closed" message from their website (gcbpickering dot com). It has said that for at least a few months, and it may be scaring customers away thinking that this location is permanently closed. As of today (Aug 20, 2021) this location is open.

From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with a hello and a smile. The food was fresh and tempting. The owner, a lovely gentleman, made our bagel creations and was extremely friendly and courteous. We ate our bagels in the parking lot, we didn't want to wait, and wow, they were amazing...my mouth is watering just thinking about it! I highly recommend this Canadian Bagel, for the service alone...but the food sealed the deal! You have to eat here!!

Picked up my free "Birthday bagels. Bought a coffee and an everything bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese. Delicious. The lady in the shop was very pleasant and delivered super service.

DO NOT PLACE UBER EATS ORDER This restaurant should be removed from Uber Eats immediately. No voicemail, called store directly multiple times after placing order with no answer. Menu item availability changes AFTER placing order and paying. Terrible customer service. When contacting Uber Eats they could not get in contact with the restaurant either. Uber Eats was also unable to cancel the order stating the restaurant already confirmed despite no confirmation on my end. I love Great Canadian Bagel and have been going since i was a child, but will not be placing another order to the Pickering location ever again

Bad customer service at this Pickering location, the guy at the order counter is snappy and not friendly at all, you better have your order ready before entering the store, he does not have the patience for you to look at the menu, constantly mumbles to himself, shakes his head and rolls his eyes, As a first time customer I felt uncomfortable and felt like I was asking for charity. Unlike the Oshawa location which has one of the best customer service and courteous / friendly staff.

Great Bagel place. Lots of choices for Bagels, cream cheese and toppings. I have to be careful, I buy too much. I bought 3 bagels and left. Clean store , proper Co-Vid safety protocols and friendly staff.

I don’t usually write reviews but I had to for this place- I stop by here some morning to pick up breakfast for my coworkers and I- yes the food is always really good but what impresses me more is their customer service! The staff and the guy in front of me were on a first name basis and the staff knew his order ahead of time, they were extremely friendly (which was even more impressive considering they were in the middle of a rush with a line out the door), and even gave me the tip to keep the bag open so the bagels stay fresh and it’ll make my car smell great! (He was right) super happy with the good and the service

I've been a loyal customer of theirs for about 2 years now. I find it mind boggling that a number of these reviews criticize their pricing. Please consider this - these bagels do not arrive on a truck, pre-made and frozen. They are made DAILY and by hand - in other words made with LOVE hence why they taste amazing... every single time. Same reason why someone would be willing to purchase a $7 latte made by a barista rather than a $4 latte made by the pressing of a button and served up by someone who barely acknowledges your existence. You're not only paying for the product, you're paying for the experience. If you are, or become a regular, you can expect superior service every time. They will learn your name, your order and shoot the breeze with you while you wait for your order. I'll pay the extra $2 bucks to have someone who greets me at the door and prepares my food with attention and care. You guys rock!

I've been going here for a long time. Their hours aren't the best, but when you can get them it's the best breakfast on a bagel.

I heard of this location and wanted to get some bagels,I live about 45 minutes from the his place so I called before I get there to make sure they have the bagels I wanted, a very pleasant guy named Bobby answer the phone and said they didn't have the bagels I wanted but he can get them ready in an hour. This is the kind of customer service is very hard to find. Good job Bobby thanks for your service stay safe!

Yikes. $16 for 2 cream cheese bagels and large coffees and they were disappointing. Dry and flavourless.

Delicious, fresh bagels and awesome service, every time.

I got the breakfast avocado sandwich. The bagel was fresh and very delicious. The avocado was good too and a decent portion. The bacon was a disappointment though, it was too under cooked and stringy, I wouldn’t go as far as saying it was raw but it was pretty close, definitely didn’t taste like bacon should or have the right texture. I didn’t eat much of the bacon because of this but everything else was good.

I have been going here for about 7 years and the owner has always greeted me with a smile! The food is delicious and he builds such a great rapport with each customer :)

I’m not a fan of bagels in general but my word the bagels here are amazing, you can taste the freshness. The cream cheese was really good too - this will be my go to place for bagel breakfast now. Great job folks

Great bagels get there early for best selection they run out of some varieties by noon.

Bagels are awesome and so is the cream cheese. Great sandwich selection, warm and fresh, with friendly service! If you don't see the bagel you're after at the counter, make sure to ask about it, as they seem to not all be stored in the front display.

Best bagel shop. Owner/Staff are Amazing! Inside eating space is clean. They have a great menu. Fast service. Food is always fresh and the bagels, well you just have to see for yourself!
