Stopped by with my young daughters after school for a treat. They had a bunch of fun picking out cupcakes for a treat. I also got a couple butter tarts for my wife and I. My daughter's also really loved the look of a Disney princess (wedding?) Cake that was on display. I feel like this is just the tip of the iceberg and ordering ahead for baked treats is a great way to get something special. I'm seeing a couple negative reviews but sounds like it's a lot of misunderstandings maybe come in and make specific orders in person?

OUTSTANDING! These bakers never disappoint! I trust them for all my big party cakes because they are so creative with their designs, the taste of the cakes and icing are to delicious (I recommend the salted caramel flavour!), and service is always friendly and kind! Their turnaround time is also great. I would also recommend their cake decorating classes for those that want to learn. Emma is a fabulous teacher and breaks down how to decorate a cake from start to finish, she teaches it in a way that is so easy, practical, and really fun!

I sent my daughter to you for cupcakes as I saw you were nut free! My daughter ordered 48 cupcakes and paid for them. She was called 8 minutes before she was to pick the order up, they told her they unable to fill her order. The said the had technical issue. My daughter was so upset, she asked what am I supposed to do? I was to bring the cupcakes to my best friends party. The actually told her to go to Dairy Queen it was in the same plaza. My grandson has allergies and can not eat anything from Dairy Queen. She called me crying! So disappointed in your lack of ownership in the error! Your offer to send a refund is so unprofessional, and your lack of compassion is very sad.

My fiance and I went out testing cupcakes at several local custom bakeries back on Feb 24th. When we brought them home, we tested each one with my Mom, who hates icing. She ate the entire (partial) cupcakes, including the icing and was looking to take parts of ours! That makes it an instant winner in our books! We loved the Just Peachy so much we decided to make that the flavour of our wedding cake. We also loved the Crazy for Coconut. Although our wedding is still a year away, we have already decided to go with Sweet Emmas for our cake and cupcakes! I can't wait to try all the rest of the flavours and pick the ones for the wedding! They were out of Banana Rama Split, Super Sassy Strawberry, and Key West Lime when we dropped by - they must be popular. We plan to call first and place an order for the rest of the flavours we want to try so we won't miss out. My only complaint is the location for parking - it was a bit of a challenge to find a spot at that time of day. There are a lot of doctor / medical buildings in the area.

Ordered a 50th anniversary cake, and it turned out beautiful and elegant, and especially delicious! Emma was very sweet and accommodating, and a true pleasure to do business with. The cake definitely exceeded our expectations in every way. Picked up the cake on Saturday for the party on Sunday, and it still tasted fresh and delicious the day of! Would definitely order again for any occasion. Thank you Sweet Emmas Cakery for making this occasion extra special for our family! :-)

Sweet Emmas did an absolutely wonderful job creating a delicious vegan cake for my kid's birthday. They recreated the exact image I had shared for a rainbow cake and added their own flair and it was liked by many. Absolutely gorgeous! The customer service was great with Deborah responding to my emails even late into the night. They are busy baking through the day so it makes sense. Highly recommend this place.

Ordered a custom panda cake for my birthday. Salted caramel flavoured buttercream and fondant covered. I sent a picture of how I wanted the panda cake to look like and they did a wonderful job of replicating it. Cake looked top-notch from the outside, even I was surprised! The taste of the cake was very nice and definitely tasted like salted caramel, although a bit too sweet for my family and I. Love this cake so much, will come back to buy some cupcakes every now and then.

I have been a customer of Sweet Emmas Cakes since 2017 when they moved to Pickering. In the last few years, I feel like they've lost their sense of obligation to their customers. Hands down, their cakes are amazing. But what happens if the flavour you were so desperately expecting is not what you got?! After spending $160 on a cake, hoping for their amazing Key Lime West flavour (and all my guests expecting this flavour as we had it in previous years), we were all disappointed when the flavour was your basic vanilla bean. I would not even be writing this review had they not responded the way they had. I initially asked for a full refund (knowing full well that I didn't expect that - but you reach high, and then meet half way). Yes, they apologized and advised they could give me 12 key lime west flavoured cupcakes. When I asked what my little family of 4 is going to do with 12 cupcakes, they suggested I freeze them and eat one whenever I wanted. As a long time customer, I anticipated they would have at least offered me the value of 12 cupcakes for any future order (that alone is $50). They admitted it was their "human" error, but they never budged on only offering me 12 cupcakes. It's too bad - they lost me along with all my referrals. If you order from them: don't expect much if they make a mistake , and be sure to call and ensure the flavour is what you ordered.

I walked in at Sweet Emmas in last minutes to order the cupcakes for my children's 5th BD , I was welcomed by a beautiful smile, then the next day I picked up my order, let just say I was a happy mom. My twins loved it, the teachers thanked me and I felt special. Thank you Sweet Emmas. I will come again. It is these little moments which makes our local and small businesses life savers.

My experience here was terrible. I asked for a Rose Gold cake and they made an Orange cake. For the prices they charge , it is not worth what you get. I would never come back. Very bad customer service! They don't even address the correct issue you have.

Great customer service, cute little shop! Was craving something sweet so grabbed some assorted ready made cupcakes. Some of them were great (especially the salted caramel one) - others were very dry. Overall the flavours were good. I'd probably order a fresh cake/cupcakes next time to get a better idea of the cakes. I will not purchase ready made again.

I've been bringing my Girl Guide unit here every couple of years and I can't say enough about Emma's teaching style. She plans gorgeous designs, and makes them accessible for our whole unit (ages 7-8). She's accommodating, helpful and easy to book with. And of course, the girls love taking home their cupcakes in beautiful boxes and enjoy every bite! Thanks Emma!

Sweet Emma’s did a wonderful job making my sons’ birthday cakes. Deborah was a pleasure to place the order with and they truly went above and beyond in making the cakes. Both were delicious and looked amazing! Thank you!

My mom purchased "matching" cupcakes and a cake for a Boy's baby shower. Unfortunately, when they were picked up the colours didn't match and the cupcakes were in pink cupcake holders. The holders would have been a non-issue if we had been warned at the time of purchase that all their holders were pin. The real issue is, when called my sister was laughed at and only offered a store credit. Whoever answered the phone was unapologetic and condescending, stating "six years of business" for their disbelief there was a mistake. We were called 10 minutes later with a partial apology and an offer for a full cash refund. Based on the inaccuracy of the order and the initial unprofessional communications my family cannot recommend this shop to anyone. edit after response: The largest issue was not the liners, it was the frosting being completely different from what was ordered then being laughed at.

Thank you sweet Emma for the magnificent 40th wedding anniversary(Ruby) cake that you designed and made for our very special friends and family. The classic, elegant beauty of this cake turned many heads and brought smiles to a lot of faces. Not only was this cake beautiful to look at, but the flavor and freshness was second to none. There is no doubt in my mind that I will always choose Sweet Emma’s Cakery to provide their awesome custom cakes for our special occasions, or choose from their delicious cup cakes, for that extra special treat.

So much to say! We just had our Wedding up north and Sweet Emmas provided us with 100 cupcakes and our wedding cake. We had nothing but non stop comments about how delicious the cupcakes were and how BEAUTIFUL our Cake looked. I cannot say enough amazingly wonderful things about Emma and Debbie and their incredible Cakery.

I ordered a very specific small wedding cake for a 17 person outdoor wedding on October 3rd. The cake was delicious and looked so very pretty. This was our first time ordering from Sweet Emma's but will definitely not be our last.
