I would like to start off this review by saying the food does taste great at the Pickering location. My issue is the fact that they no longer allow you to order take out food off of the lunch menu. I like to pre-ordered my lunch and go pick it up since I only have a 30 minute lunch break. I had to go in and sit down at the table wait for them to serve it to me on a plate so I can then ask them to pack it up so I could take it back to work. I think that it’s rather ridiculous. My opinion is that they are just trying to get more money off of the customers because apparently you can order takeout off of the regular menu but you can’t order takeout off of the lunch special menu. That is unfair.

December 1, 2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I revisited The Works on December 1, 2023, and this time, I savored the SK8R Boy burger featuring peanut butter, Monterey Jack, and bacon. As always, the presentation was spot-on. I appreciated the unique flavors, and I would recommend it if you enjoy the combination. However, it's worth noting that the price for a burger combo is on the higher end. On a positive note, the service was impeccable! October 5, 2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My recent return to The Works, after an extended absence, brought to light the change in ownership that has taken place since my previous visit. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the customer service was outstanding throughout our entire dining experience, from the moment we were seated to the final step of paying our bill. The menu offered an extensive array of selections, and our server was particularly attentive, offering recommendations tailored to our tastes. The food arrived promptly and exceeded our expectations in terms of taste and quality. Additionally, I placed an order for takeout for my son, and I was pleased to find that it had been meticulously prepared and packaged with care. This attention to detail did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated. I genuinely appreciate the melding of a delightful meal with superb customer service.

Been several years since I visited The WORKS. Nice atmosphere and decor. Great Halloween Decorations also. Ordered the Wrecking Ball 2.0...bacon wrapped cheese ball. Gotta try it. Bacon and Cheese. Tastes good with and without the dip they provide. I've never had a Ceasar salad loaded with so much bacon, it was good and the Bacon Burger from the Chefs selection was really good. The store owner provided recommendations and suggestions he was excellent at our table. We will return.

The food here is fantastic. The Blues burger in particular is amazing. I may be lactose intolerant, but I'm willing to fight for my life later that night for a Blues burger any day.

This place is amazing, enjoyed food thoroughly, must try their onion rings. Only reason for two stars is because of the waitress Emily, very unprofessional and we felt that we were not welcome. Bad experience and only reason not one star is because their food is top class!

I have been here twice already, and they never miss a beat! The food is always super fresh and the service is excellent. The Blues Burger is my favorite so far. It is absolutely juicy, and the Blue Cheese is sublime. I love their regular fries, but their Sweet Potato one slaps hard. Well worth upgrading. Never mushy. The restaurant is also kept very clean. Be sure to stop in, you won't regret it at all.

Great overall burger in all aspects. Love that they don’t wrap the burger and leave it open in the box (this prevents it from sitting in its own steam). Great bun, toppings and love the fleek sauce..burgers were thicker then expected and just all round really good. The fries are fresh cut Yukon’s and we’re great as well. One thing with the cheese fries is they are showered in real cheese so make sure to eat hot, or have some hot gravy on the side to wake them up when ready to eat. Over a great burger spot and can’t wait to go back.

Located across from the Pickering Town Centre, this spot has some of the best food I've tasted in a while. I had the Taste of Heaven, Kobe style burger and a strawberry banana shake. Loved it! Try the fresh cut potato chips... and the poutine has delicious homemade gravy. Service was excellent.

The most perfectly fried onions I've ever had. The poutine is delicious and made with a vegetarian based gravy which is phenomenal! You'd think a BURGER joint would only have beef but nope, they accommodate all dietary restrictions. Protein choices are elk, wagyu beef, beef, chicken (grilled or fried) and beyond meat. They have different buns, gluten free and you can opt for lettuce. There's an INSANE number of combos and choices....if you can't find something to eat here, it's you not them (lol). When you order regular fries, it's bottomless. Their milkshakes are out of this world too...not overly sweet which is very refreshing. I've never had a milk shake where I want more after I'm done.... and they offer a huge variety for milkshakes too. The service here was outstanding, our server was so knowledgeable and helpful. You gotta come here.

The burger was good but undercooked... I was the only one in the place so that didn't make any sense. The portion were okay but on the light side. Nothing was really explained to me even though I indicated it was my 1st time there. The pop machine mix ratios were off making my ginger aile taste bad. The server was okay but not really invested, checking his phone and talking with the kitchen. All in all not the best experience (since the price is so high) but not the worst either. Would I go back?.... I believe in second chances but let's just say I am not running!

One of my favourite burger spot to visit in Pickering. Their Sexy Burger is my absolute favourite. Staffs are friendly and very helpful with recommendations. I recommend adding this restaurant to your list of places to try- you won’t be disappointed. The portions are very satisfying and filling.

The food was great as lays, however thevservice that day (a Saturday) was quite slow. Sign at front says to wait to be seated, after waiting for 10-15 minutes (only 2-3 tables were being used) we had to go look for someone. Once seated, everything was fine, except the server did not check up on us once until we flagged them down to ask for the bill. Probably severely understaffed, which is why it's a 4* review still, and besides, the food itself was excellent .

I came here for dinner and was waiting on a friend who was stuck in traffic and decided to get coffee before I head back here. My phone died and was charging it there until I waited for my friend. Cook there handed me a menu and through his body language it was clear he wanted me to order hurriedly so I can get in and out fast. I was told to leave my coffee behind which is understandable but tone was a bit rude. Also I could tell the man there was talking bad about me in our language and wanted me to order food which I was planning to do anyways. I understood cause I also speak that language. Came back to order food and was polite to them nonetheless. I didn’t want to make it a big deal so I just ordered my food and left. Left a 0 % tip which I’ve never done before. The service wasn’t good and it was an awkward environment. There was also bright lights hitting my eyes which hurts your eyes. The girl server was nice at least. Next time talk directly to the customer if you want to insult them in any language so they can talk back. It’s unfortunate I’ll never be coming back cause the Kobe burger was good. I’ll go to another location next time with less stingy management/cooks or not come to the works ever again.

Amazing burger. Great place. Food was got fresh and I will be back. This was a great meal. Edit. Today I stood at the wait here to be seated sign for 10 min. To have a okder couple walk in and be seen too first. Then the uber driver is more important. So today I came. I stood at the sign. For 10 minutes and left. Thanks.

We were driving to Ottawa and we decided to have dinner at works before leaving. The restaurant was half empty and the manager told us that it would take them 10 mins to seat us. We were okay to wait but we asked him to take our order early so we did not have to wait that long before leaving for Ottawa. He asked us very suspicious questions and kept asking us if were sure about our order. He told us that he would come back right away to take our order but then he disappeared. We waited for a while but then left because they took way too long to come back to take our order even though they said that they were okay with taking our order early.

Got the: - tastes like heaven (wagyu) + bottomless fries - fight club (chicken) + chips Everything was delicious and fresh. Although a bit pricey we were pleasantly satisfied and taken care of. Will definitely be back to satisfy our cravings

The restaurant has lots of choices of burgers. I ordered the sweet chicka chicka boom boom sandwich and my hubby ordered the get piggy with it. They come with a side. We got the fries. The ice tea came in a measuring cup. The service was ok. She wasn’t the friendliest. The restaurant was empty when we got there a 1:00pm on a Saturday.

Recommended from a friend and it was definitely worth it. Went over the holidays and it was oddly very quiet (we were the only table dining in). Service was great ensuring we were well taken care of. Ordered the 'Canadian Fight Club' and 'Taste of Heaven' and both were very good (lots of flavour, not overly salty and most importantly burgers were juicy and not overcooked). Portions of the sides (sweet potato fries and poutine) were massive! Only downside was the kids burger was a little charred and dry (understandably so as we don't want to feed our toddler medium rare meat), but they don't know the difference anyways. Also, poutine was swimming in gravy (not a deal breaker, but became a fries soup near the end of the meal) Would definitely come back again.

The poutine was just under 15$. The fries were hard as rock and not salty. If it wasn't closing, I would have returned the order.

Good was really good, a bit expensive for burgers but we knew that going in. Right now (winter 2023), don't go on a cold day to eat in, the heater is broken and part is on back order. We managed to get in to their small private room where they have a small heater set up, the staff were great although there was not many of them, and loved my burger.

We love the Works and have been going for years. The food selection has gone down and this last time the service was unfortunately lacking. They were busy with takeout so dine in was slow. We were ready to order for 15 minutes or more and asked for an app at the same time as our meal. Our meal came and no app. We had to ask for it. The server was kind and on her own but the kitchen let her down.

Nice spot that's conveniently located. Not a big place, but good for a quick bite. Food is good and the service is efficient, although we went on a Sunday evening and there were only 2 other guests at the time. Took about 5 minutes for our apps and 15 minutes for our entrees to arrive at the table, so a good experience all in all.

I came here on a whim, Saturday afternoon, and it was not busy at all. Was able to get seated immediately. I had the Get Elk'd burger which was an elk patty topped with havarti cheese, maple bacon jam, crunchy onion strings, W sauce and lettuce. They offer many beers, imported and domestic, wines and the odd bar cocktail, but the star is definitely the milkshakes that come in the 1L measuring cups. Unfortunately, I'm lactose intolerant so I settled with a 18oz blue moon. Food took a while to arrive, but that's to be expected when they slice potatoes and fry them up on location. The dipping sauce was amazing; I actually had to get more sauce to finish my stack of potatoes.

First off the food is awesome! We were very impressed with what we ordered. However the service is horrible. Our drinks were never refilled. We asked for wet wipes...they were never brought and when we asked for the check we sat forever waiting for it. Our server was very polite but just not attentive. We would recommend take out!

Very good burger restaurant. Big menu, lots of options, customize your sandwhich any way you’d like. Friendly staff, good appetizers, lots of seating, lots of parking. One of my favourite places to go for a burger at a restaurant. Great location! Highly recommend this returning!

This was the first time that me and my family actually sat in a restaurant for a meal since COVID started. The food was amazing and exactly like we ordered. The onion ring tower was perfect! The waiter was polite and checked on us to see that everything was to our liking. However, wished they had the cherry coke but the Pepsi with added cherry syrup was ok. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and we’ll definitely come back again :)

Good burgers, pricey but worth it. Got the bottomless fries, should have got the chips, they are way better in flavour.

  • 4/5 Rob J. 4 years ago on Google
Great selection of uniquely styled burgers! Their burgers are made to order and will come out to you, hot and juicy. Their onion rings are a must try and one of the best onion rings you’ll find anywhere, in my own opinion. Their drinks are huge as well, and it’ll be served to you in a 2 Cup measuring cup. The Works is a must try if in the area! With their large selection and options, you’ll be sure to find something delicious for your own personal taste.

Aromas of patties simmering on the grill, a perfectly topped burger, and the sensation of sinking your teeth into that first bite are just a few of the things you're going to experience at this place. As for the fries, they were delicious, with a delicate exterior crispiness and a perfect amount of fluffiness. They were seasoned with big, flaky grains of salt that added more texture and nice pops of flavour. They were top notch. I'm tempted to visit this place again.

  • 5/5 Gonzo G. 1 year ago on Google
All in all restaurant was great, with the exception of the service and the beverage size and beverage refill service, also the milkshakes are extremely small for the price other than that I had a very pleasant experience highly recommended food

  • 2/5 Candace M. 1 year ago on Google
The waitress we dealt with was lovely, but the food itself was very subpar. The burger had no flavour except the flavour of the meat itself. It was super bland, and super greasy. It was also swimming in mayo. My friend got a crispy chicken sandwich and it was grilled and also had no real flavour but that of the meat. Fries were also very salty. Super expensive too for food we would never opt to eat again!

This place was really great the first time I went, however, most recently wasn't as good. A friend suffered through a cold poutine after waiting ages for the food to arrive. The service was unattentive, making it overall a negative experience.

Burger was fantastic and the waitress was super friendly. I really appreciated that she came by every so often to check in on me. It wasn’t invasive and it was just the perfect amount. Ordered the Malibu Meltdown and it was to die for! Added avocado for an extra $1.97 and it was SO worth it :) Also, their spicy die cut chips are delicious! @nomsoftoronto

I ordered the maple bacon burger, which is a signature burger crafted by the Pickering crew. Not cheap $24 but probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. The flavours were layered and complex. I could taste each ingredient, and they all complimented each other. The beef patty was juicy and fresh, the bacon and poutine could have stood on their own. At first I thought it was too big, but it was so good, I quickly scarfed down the whole thing. I eat a lot of burgers. This one set the benchmark.
