I’ve been eating at this place since I was in high school- I remember coming here back when I was in grade 10 which was now 17 years ago! Back then I would order the General Taos Chicken with friend rice. After all these years of developing your pallet and trying new things, the General Taos is still one of the best I’ve ever had! This place is now a staple in Pickering among other things like the nuclear power plant and petticoat creek. When you hear of Pickering, Dragon Gem has to be in your top 5 landmark thoughts. This place easily gets a 5 out of 5 for me.

Great service at this place, the lady taking the orders made life so easy when she helped me pick my food. So kowledgable and friendly. The food was good.

Been going to this place for close to 20 years. Even after I moved away from the area, my dentist is in the same plaza and this is my guilty pleasure. C7 all the way!

Food is all right. I got the chicken Tso, way too sweet. Portion is okay for the lunch special $8.50. Can’t really finish it cause of the sweetness. I don’t want to even talk about the sodium level. Anyway it’s okay for the price compared to McDonald’s.

Today I decided to try this place based off the reviews I had seen. I got the L13 combo after 3pm for it was a dollar or so more expensive and without a drink / eggroll; The total was $11 something. If I were to give this a rating strictly off food quality and not take into consideration price, I would give it a 4. The General Tso was great and the Chicken Fried Rice was pretty typical; The veggies were nice, fresh, and crunchy, but the chicken was lacking. If money is not an issue for you then this place could really be a contender. Sadly for me Google doesn't pay me yet so I'm not sure when I'll be back. If prices were more affordable this place would definitely be a solid 4 or potentially a 5. The staff were friendly! If you try it let me know what you try and how it is!

Tried their special today! Plus Chinese broccoli ans some chicken! Huge servings, perfect for sharing, flavourful and fresh. Super yummy! Would definitely recommend for chinese food cravings and family and friends party packs!

Great Chinese food and very friendly service. This place has been around for a while and it never disappoints. I recommend getting the general tao chicken and the fried rice, but everything on the menu is amazing! You really can’t go wrong with anything here.

Just had quite possibly the worst experience with this place. They got 2 items in the meal incorrect, argued with my wife about what was ordered and offered 10% off our next in order instead of correcting the problem. After far too long, they offered to bring the item we originally ordered and to just eat what we were given since it can't be served to anyone now that it's gone out. When the delivery guy arrived with the correct food, he also had the debit/credit machine expecting some sort of payment. Instead of just providing us with the correct item (we only had one item replaced when more than one item was wrong), they also demanded we give back the item they originally told us to just keep. I fear they will be trying to serve this food to another customer with the way they treated this situation. All in all, I can no longer recommend anyone buy food here. We are all absolutely disgusted with the way they all handled themselves. This was a ridiculous occurence and this company should probably be looked into further for proper handling of food.

First time I ordered here it was very good - “hot and fresh”. This was on a Saturday around 8pm. Today (2-3 weeks later) on a Tuesday around 6:30pm, I got the exact same meal I got as last time and this time it was disgusting. The chicken was all fatty…every piece was tough; and it’s chicken. Not sure if you changed the sweet and sour chicken in that 2-3 week period, but change it back lol. I’d rather pay $20 for food that is good quality and that taste good. Instead I paid roughly $15 and I ended up throwing it all out. Again, the food was honestly great the first time - IoI that’s why I came back. Now I’m unsure if I will order from here again.

Placed an order for delivery, fast response however I passed a $20 bill as part of my payment There was a corner ripped off which did not affect the serial number. Both serial numbers were intact but the driver would not accept it. Stupidity is not a good look. Food returned.

We haven't had Dragon Gem's food in quite a while. The food wS really good, but it was still not as good as our go-to place. The egg roll was very small. The prices aren't as good as they used to be, but that's pretty well normal these days.

We did our traditional Chinese food for Christmas Eve. No other place we'd order from! Been eating Dragon Gem since they opened up. And even though we've now moved north we order from here when we're in town! Great food, wonderful people!

Dragon gem is delicious. We have been eating here for the last 3 years and the first 2 years the food was sometimes inconsistent but sti good. The last 6 months, the food has been sooooooo good! Hope it stays this way bc we look forward to our monthly dragon gem visit!

Anytime I want Chinese food I get this place they’re crab rangoon are literally like heaven whatever you’re getting make sure you add that on the foods always perfect and taste as fresh 👍

Some of the best food in the area. Worth the travel to also. Huge menu and good food. Good sauces, well seasoned food, good family owned business. This location has been here a long time. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Parking is busy.

Ordered from them on Uber, the chicken was quite bland, the chicken soo guy was heavily breaded and the broccoli and beef tasted fishy. I regret not ordering from my usual spot out of sheer laziness. It’s quite pricey for what you actually get.

Prices have gone up so much lately. $50 for 3 people takeout, might as well go out to eat at an actual restaurant. And they charge extra for sauce on a big order. Single combos are the same, $15 and charge extra for sauce.

Food was fresh, hot and on time. Singapore noodles were very good and shrimp were large and plentiful. Great veggie spring roll too. Would order again for sure.

Dragon Gem has been a family favourite for years. The combos have generous portions and a good amount of meat. Food is always fresh and the staff are hard working. It’s always really busy which speaks for itself yet they’re quick and reliable. Our go-to spot when craving Chinese!

First time ordering take out from this place and it was good. Lots of people behind the counter working hard at making the many orders they must have had. My order was just for honey chicken, chicken with vegetables and cashews, fried and steamed pork dumplings, and a few spring rolls. That cost about $43 and we made our own rice to go with it. Recommend.

This was our first time ordering from this place, definitely would order again. we ordered the general tso, veggie and shrimp fried rice. It was soo good!! We had it delivered, they said an hour, but they came in 30 minutes. ( Which was really nice)

Ok so I had to write a review. I did not like this place at all when I first tried it! I first ate from here 2 years ago when I moved here & I can’t even remember what I had bc it was so not worth it. Anyhow, I have recently decided to give it another try & man am I glad I did! I had the pad Thai & was skeptical bc I’m Lao & I know how it should be made & it’s a Chinese restaurant (yes there’s a difference) but it actually wasn’t bad! Tonight I was at the plaza running around & was starving & didn’t wanna go home to cook so I got the Ho Fun noodles, which is one of my fav Chinese noodle dishes. I’ve been disappointed at so many other restaurants with this dish that I didn’t have high expectations….but I am impressed & really enjoyed it! It was really good & made right! I’m so glad that I gave it another shot! I look forward to trying other dishes & hopefully it’s always impressive.

Tasty food, but VERY expensive for what you actually receive. This used to be an affordable place to have a decent meal, unfortunately, it’s no loner the case.

Just moved to pickering recently and was told to try this place out. Not being an online fan of ordering I called and they made my wants into a meal deal and was cheaper then ordering every dish separately like most places would to make maximum revenue. I am so pleased with the phone call order to my food arriving at a very timely manner. OMG their food is 100 % my go to for Chinese food next time when I have a craving. 110% overly satisfied

Got takeout from here today (hot and sour soup, fried rice, chow mien, mapo tofu). It was fine; I found it a bit sweet. It satisfied a craving though!

We wanted Chinese tonight. My bf recommended this place. Absolutely deplorable, food was absolutely disgusting, furthermore, absolutely no cx service. I love promoting small businesses, but businesses with owners who have an ego and don’t care about losing long time cxs (my bf) over their mistakes is absolutely disgusting. If you are a newcomer and looking for good Chinese save your time the hassle and deplorable conditions, and order somewhere where they take pride in serving you good food with a smile

I love coming here with my boyfriend! He loves the C7 with all General Tso chicken and I can’t get enough of the mushroom fried rice, so delicious!!! I love the homey atmosphere the places gives off. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a hidden ‘gem’ lol

I wish the dishes pictures included the dishes name. As most of them looks good. I want to order them,BUT I don't know the name of the dish. It will be a big help if they put tge name of the dish with the picture.
