This place has been getting better and better. To be honest I wasn't a fan but tonight the food was pretty good plus their rice is addictive. Staff is super friendly and portions are huge! I usually get the falafel plate which is one of my faves. Their meat dishes are good too. I would definitely come back to eat here now that the quality of their food has improved in a huge way!_

Although I don't eat Afghan or Middle Eastern cuisine regularly, I do enjoy it. With three vertical rotisseries, the house specialty seems to be chicken shawarma. It looked good, but I had a craving for beef so I ordered the Beef Kebab, served with with rice, salad, and a choice of naan or a drink. The beef kebabs are made to order so it took a few minutes. At least I knew it was fresh! The included salad is also assembled as ordered, with your choice of ingredients. The seasoned rice was also freshly made. The entire plate was dressed with a variety of seasonings and sauces. Finally, the meat was placed on top and also dressed with sauces. Nice! Everything was delicious and I could see that it was obviously freshly made to order. The meat was well seasoned, tender, juicy, and flavourful, especially with the sauces on it. I even enjoyed the salad, where every component of it seemed fresh. This was a very good, flavourful meal. Beyond the good tasting food, the two fellows behind the counter were friendly and engaging. I think I'll have to come here more often!

I ordered 4 Chicken Shawarma's through DOORDASH. I waited about 40 minutes for the order to get to my door. My husband and I were initially so excited to eat as we love shawarma and have been to many places and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, when we took our first bite we were underwhelmed, we continued to eat in hopes that maybe it would get better. I waited for the wrap to start tasting like a chicken shawarma, but the flavors remained bland and disappointing. I opened the the wrap and noticed there was scraps of cabbage, 4 broken pieces of turnips which were very pale pink in color, and the chicken was so dry it had a similar texture to can flaked tuna. There was no authenticity in the taste, the chicken didn't have that usual toasted and well seasoned taste, it really didn't taste like much. The size is comparable to a McDonalds Chicken Wrap, I've never been able to wrap my hand around a shawarma as other places would pack it, but this one was small in size. If you're looking for shawarma I'd recommend going else where. Maybe Check out Shawarma Bros or Amazing Shawarma. DoorDash refunded me about 1/3 of what I paid, this experience literally put a bad taste in our mouths. Pics/Vid for reference.

Since there's not many Shawarma places in Pickering, I was curious to try this place out. I came here on a Friday night when I was craving a shawarma but didn't want to venture out to Scarborough to grab one. The restaurant itself was pretty busy with its usual customers which I was glad to see. I got the shawarma sandwich special (2 sandwiches for 11.99) as well as a falafel sandwich ( $5.99). All together it came out to $20.30 which I thought was pretty reasonable. The shawarma itself was tasty, had good flavor thanks to the garlic sauce. I will say however, they are bit stingy with the tahini sauce, I don't know if it is because the squeeze bottle they use has a small cap, or they are just stingy with the sauce, but even after asked for lots of sauce, the falafel sadnwich and second shawarma were pretty dry on the inside. Pro Tip, If you're looking for an authentic shawarma taste, be sure to ask them to add turnips and pickles. For some reason, they don't automatically add them when you ask for everything, which is a bit strange. So overall, I think this place gets a solid 3 from me. It was an okkk experience. The staff were friendly, the service was fast , but the quality of the food wasn't out of this world. However, I do think it's a pretty good option for shawarma in Pickering.

Loved the customer service, plus food is good on quality and the quantity. Don't miss the free chips they have near the cash register :)

Listen the place isnt bad as people make it out to be. When the manager/chef is there it is always a blessing to be served by him. i get that he isnt there all the time, hence why some ppl have negative reviews because its other people there running it when hes not. Yes some of them have a strange attitude in serving but the food is pretty good. Everytime i eat there its always good food and well laid out. i aint middle eastern or a relative, just an honest consumer.

Oh!! My this is such a family place for me. It’s a place I know I can go and be welcome. My specialty order is the Chicken shawarma Salad perfect if you have to watch your diet. The serving is perfect and very tasty!

Ordered the Shawarma platter and it was quite delicious, everything tasted fresh and the chicken was perfectly prepared with crunchy and moist pieces. I recommend giving it a shot anytime you are near for some tasty filling food.

Food is fresh and delicious and the service and fast and friendly. I come here often as it is the most legit and authentic shawarma shop in the area. Avoid nasty Osmows and support local businesses.

I have been going to this place for years. Lately, I have seen the quantity drop and the price shot up. $22 for 1 Falafel wrap and 1 Chicken Tikka Wrap. That makes no sense as it was cheaper a few weeks back. I understand things have gone up, but 30% or more price increases in a few weeks is nuts. I guess this is how the owner can afford the Mercedes company car!

Food here is excellent... obviously a fan of the chicken shwarma... I have food sensitivities, and I find them happy to accommodate here. I often have to compete with the high school crowd, and they handle service quickly and fairly. Fully recommended! The space is not 'fancy' but you don't want it to be when stopping for lunch or a bite to eat. Food is delicious, hot and prepared the way I ask, the first time! Thanks!

Ordered their pricey 2 shawarma plates and got tons of rice and salad with a very thin layer of fried shredded chicken instead shawarma which they prepared on their pan. Don't waste your money here. Go little bit farther to other good restaurants at Brock and Kingston. They don't know how to do business and make customers happy by giving customers they deserving money's best food.

I went here for afghan food and their was none to be found. All menu items relating to afghan food were unavailable. They only had shawarma which tasted ok, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get shawarma here.

Support a local shawarma business instead of going to the chain restaurants in the area. This place is authentic! Completely different taste and not runny at all. Always opted for the chicken shawarma wrap and I was never disappointed. Fresh ingredients, prepared right before your eyes behind the counter.

Got the shawarma plate as they didn't have anything else available. It was tasty but could use more garlic sauce. Was about $18 with tip.

I have been a regular customer at Afghan Kebab & Shawarma for quite some time now, and despite changing staff several times, one thing remains constant: the delightful taste that keeps me coming back for more. Although there have been a few changes along the way, my recent visit reaffirmed that this restaurant has managed to maintain its authentic flavors. Firstly, let's address the portion sizes. It is true that they have been reduced compared to previous visits, which may disappoint those who enjoyed a larger plate size or leftovers for the next day. However, I find that the smaller portions do not compromise the overall taste. Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff, and their hospitality continued throughout my entire take out experience. One thing that stands out about Afghan Kebab & Shawarma is their commitment to customer satisfaction. The staff is always eager to accommodate individual preferences, and they go the extra mile to customize each plate according to the customer's desires. However, it is worth noting that the price of each meal is on the higher end, though it remains competitive within the context of the quality provided. While some might consider it a splurge, the overall experience justifies the cost for those who appreciate fine dining and authentic flavors. In conclusion, Afghan Kebab & Shawarma continues to impress with its consistent and mouthwatering flavors. The friendly and accommodating service enhances the overall dining experience, making it a memorable one. While the reduced portion sizes and higher-end pricing might be considerations for some, the tantalizing taste and personalized attention make Afghan Kebab & Shawarma a hidden culinary gem worth exploring.

BAD: - Hot sauce was sour. - Dirty place. - Food was given on a very dirty used tray. - Chicken had strong pepper taste. - I had told the person to put the hot sauce on one only, but he still put the hot sauce right in the middle. NEUTRAL: - Customer Service wasn't good but I went there knowing places like these have no... GOOD: - Chicken & Rice were cooked well. * Not going back unless they change the hot sauce and take the sour taste out of it, which I wouldn't ever get to know about.

The Afghan chicken bolani was so good, and the 27" naan was soooo long and goes with any gravy. The girl working there was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Afghan food. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

Below average in taste. Chicken was hardly seasoned. Stingy portion of protein. Worst of all, it was reheated from sitting in a big pile in the tray instead of cut from the spit.

Looks to be a family run restaurant which I like and give full credit, food is fresh and authentic. How ever only rating 3 because I found the chicken to be a little bland compared to other places.

Not a pleasant dining experience someone working thought it was wise to blow on my falafel β€œ since it was hot? I asked you do know that’s unsanitary? Puzzled expression next time I’m in Vegas I’ll give you a shout before I sling my dice…

Great food and kind people! Love this place however yesterday I got chicken that was all dry and crispy like it got fried to a crisp...not what they usually give to their customers. Hopefully they can get a hand on this before the place goes down hill because when the boys were running it it was better. but maybe its a learning curve i will always come back and support them just because of the kind caring people who work there i have not met one worker who was not super kind. Still love it!

Ordered the lunch special, chicken tasted bland and had few pieces of chicken cartilage kind of texture. Spices over all were very mild and nothing seems flavour. Fries were seemed to be cooked in a Fryer which was not fully hot yet, therefore they were not seemed to fully cooked. Overall, it was not the experience I would like to have again.

The shwarma (sp?) is delicious! I ordered the dinner plate and split it with my son for lunch. It was still a large lunch! The pickle with the salad brings a welcome sour crunch. The hot sauce mixes perfectly with the meat on the rice! Can't wait to go back!

Their food is tasty, but everything on their boards says β€œsold out” for some reasons. They only have chicken shawarma now.

Pre ordered their wing deal, good value. But they were made way too early so cold. Staff there were terrible. I asked one ladies (2) what her favorite dish was she said nothing on this menu then rolled her eyes, that was a big red flag for me and I feel sorry for the owner as that is not a good. I have have the Chicken shwarma from there before and it was tasty and filling and a good value but the last experience was terrible

Delicious wraps! One of the best shawarma I've had in the GTA. Good deal for 2 people and 2 wraps. They don't skimp on fillings, and the meat was cooked very well. Tasty sauces to go with it!
