I really loved this place prior to renovations. Now, the food and service has really took a turn for the worst. My eggs Benny were cooked too long, the yolk was not runny at all. There wasn’t enough hollandaise sauce. The peameal bacon was hard, and tough to cut through. My potatoes were raw and undercooked so I told the server and had to send them back. The cook came from the back and told me “it’s not his fault, it’s the potatoes fault” I just left it, it wasn’t worth the argument. Needless to say, I won’t return

Visited this place for breakfast over the weekend. A hidden gem in Pickering (Kingston and Brock intersection). Lovely staff, great cook and that 50’s vibe. The food served was fresh, hot and tasted so good. Everything was so perfect. Covid measures in place even during indoor dining. I would give it 10 star ⭐️. Affordable as compared to Sunset Grill and Cora’s.

Don't get 'Farmers Market Poutine's. Its not even a poutine. It's a half-eaten looking box of bland home style fries with some eggs layed on top. The eggs Benedict's was okay, but I saw the chef just pour out the hollandaise sauce out of a carton, so it's obviously not fresh or made in house. Home style fries were also precooked and stacked up in a mountain on the stove. Your food is then microwaved before serving. The waitress and service was good, but don't expect good or freshly cooked food if you come here.

Went for lunch on today. The atmosphere is good. The food are great with reasonable price. Our server Amirtha is friendly, helpful, and makes good suggestion. Keep up the good work.

We had a fantastic meal here last Saturday and wonderful service. It was our first visit. Considering the number of people looking for breakfast during the reopening I was surprised how calm and collected the servers were. Very polite and informative dealing with constant stream of people coming to the door. Our food was delicious! The place was clean and felt safe. I would recommend this place to friends. I can't understand how my experience was so vastly different than the poor reviews. I'm glad I went and checked it out myself.

This place doesn't even deserve a star to be honest. Once upon a time this was a popular friendly place that appreciated the business and the customer service was incredible. Now you wait for them to open then wait to be served and thefoid is a disappointment compared to what it once was. Many other places in the area that open promptly, greet you with a smile and the food is is great

Just love its decor. It brings you back to the 50's indeed. Every single painting and picture hanging on the wall is adorable. A very good place for vintage-admiring guys. Foods are quite good, I specially love their home-made pickled cabbage that came with Fish n chips, it tastes different than any other place. Tartar sauce is also good. Nice waitress, patient and attentive. A very good experience.

That 50's Diner is under new management! The atmosphere has changed, that's for sure. It's not bad though, they have used lighter colors and it has made the place feel bigger. The service was great, but the food is just alright for what you pay. I had the meat-lover scramble. It has scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, and sausage on top of an English muffin, with a side of home fries. The bacon could have been cooked longer, and the English muffin toasted longer, but other than that..it was good.

I remember visiting in the past and this restaurant was retro themed. They are under new management and fully renovated. The colours and layout is very different. Breakfast was tasty and over medium eggs were cooked to perfection, however the turkey bacon needed more cooking. I was not a fan. Next time I’ll request it well done.

Great local gem! I'm new to the area and this place has become one of my family's favourites. The food is affordable and tasty, and we have found service to be consistently excellent. They have a great collection of 50's memorabilia that really adds to the atmosphere. Check it out if you're in the area!

Decent prices and decent food. Staff in the back as well as the front are a bit slow and non-attentive. Would visit again with limited options.

Fr. Chris of St. Bernadette's mentioned this diner - so we thought we might try it out. I ordered a meal which included home-made fries and toast. The waitress said that it costs extra, even though the menu says otherwise. So I said OK - I'll order some fries on the side. She says that's $2 extra. I said OK. Next thing you know - she comes back to my table and says it's actually $5 extra! My wife asked for a menu and showed how it's supposed to be included in the dinner.. but the waitress says, sorry you have to pay extra. I said forget it! This place was once hopping with clients - but not any more & it's no surprise. Two words - no good!

The kitchen staff are cheap. I asked for 3 eggs(scamble n it looked like 1 egg was used),pancakes homestyle fries( tasted plain) My girlfriend got the plain crepes with whipped cream and all they did was put whip cream on the ends with nothing in the middle. The staff was very nice but slow

Since they renovated it and changed up the decor, just not the same. I was there today Dec 14/22 . Awful service and the food was absolutely horrible. My 6 yr old granddaughter could have made me a better tuna melt, and the pouting was slice slop. So sad, because this was a decent place. I invited 3 people to lunch, and I was embarrassed.

The food and service were adequate, we had to ask for a highchair for our baby, coffee was warm, not hot and the food just barley cooked. My pancakes were doughy. Potatoes were hard and beans were maybe microwaved. The eggs, overeasy were great and toast was delicious. I would have sent it back but the server never came back around until the cheq. Maybe it was an off day but the restaurant was dead.

Sad to see 50's Diner go but very happy about the restaurant that replaced it. Mr. Wing has amazing customer service even late at night. Food was delicious and filling. Price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get for your portion. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an simple high quality meal. Thanks again Mr. Wing

Visited this diner on Sunday May 22nd, I have to say for a local place they truly do not care about their patrons. Over 25 mins for a glass of apple juice. She forgot to put in 2/3 orders and said “oh I forgot” never brought over coffee refills. Thankfully the owner was so warm and apologetic. We insisted to pay for the coffe and food we received but he said no, it was their fault. I don’t know how you could forget to put in an order for 2/3 meals when we ordered together. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. We told patrons that were entering as we left to save their time and money go somewhere which would actually aid to their needs. My father is a diabetic and making him wait over 1 hour when he’s already hungry isn’t ideal for him. Very sad experience. Also, the chairs are duct taped up. Leaves for a very uncomfortable visit. I can see why there was a fight with other staff as we walked in. This place leaves a lot to be desired.

This was our first time back to the Diner since the pandemic. Both of the servers working Saturday morning were lovely and very attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for the food. Breakfast was good, smaller portions than I remember, but still a good value for the price.

I came in here a few days ago on Tuesday to try out a new breakfast place and I was extremely satisfied with the food and service. I ordered a classic 2 egg breakfast and so surprised with the quality and amount of food I received for the stellar prices they offer it for. As well, the service was great, the server was very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Great food and a great atmosphere! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Food is fresh and there is so much on the menu to choose from. If you like crispy home fries make sure to get them deep fried… the seasoning they use is also so delicious! They have a healthy choices menu as well which I haven’t seen at any other breakfast place. Definitely give that 50’s Diner a try!

Have been here repeatedly for the past few weeks and each time has been exceptional! The food is always freshly made and the two Saturday servers are amazing every time with quick, friendly and helpful service. Despite the pandemic struggles, prices are more than reasonable and I highly recommend this restaurant for a family breakfast!

I made an order on Uber and they kept delaying my order. Uber had to switch 4 different Uber drivers because they took so long. I tried calling the restaurant and they didnt even pick up. So after waiting for over 1.5 hours, I ended up contacting Uber and cancelling. Uber provided me with a full refund as the revised estimated delivery time was now way over the 30-45min delivery guarantee. If you don’t have the capacity to take on Uber orders, take your Uber off until you are able to deliver on your promise. Btw the way, all I ordered was a simple 3 egg meal lol.

This place used to be great. Service was terrible, dishes and cutlery were dirty. The food was disgusting. How does the chocolate milk taste dusty? How does that happen? Salty Apple Juice? And the price!!!! Won’t see me again in this life or the next.

👍👍 I loved dining in their patio. Elizabeth was so great, she always checked up on us and she gave our appetizer for free because we waited longer but tbh we didn’t really mind. Overall amazing service.
