You would think in 2023, white cashiers and management would be given BASIC training from FRESHCO about hiding their RACIST HATE when working with customers of different races. A human rights complaint to the HRTO is warranted for racial discrimination. Also, old age and boomer mentality is not an excuse for racist behaviour, ever. There are plenty white people in Durham and Pickering that are respectful and polite when interacting with people of colour. The white old lady cashier with glasses at this location desperately needs the customer service training, and learning some manners. My mom visits this location for the products but she always tries to avoid this particular cashier because she has seen how well she treats white customers versus customers of other races who cashes out in rude and disrespectfully when dealing with racial customers; I've seen it too when dealing with her twice at this store a few months ago. My mom was unlucky today and had to deal with this cashier's rude tone and judgemental attitude, as well as BLAME for FRESHCO's chicken packaging began to leak at cash, rudely telling my mom it's her fault it's leaking and exposed her (cashier) to bacteria. My mom denied she made the mess because she knew the chicken styrofoam package was in a thaw state and if the package is not air sealed tightly it will leak. My mom tolerated the rude tone, and wanted to pay for her items and leave. Then the cashier started rudely going on about the limit on particular items, in this case sugar. It's Ramadan, my mom cooks and bakes a lot during this time with sugar being used a lot. Apparently, there was a limit of 3 on the sugar; my mom knows English and always looks for the limit signs. She didn't see any and picked up 5. The cashier rudely tells my mom she can only take three. My mom said there was no limit mentioned but was done dealing with this person but my mom knew she was right. After the nightmare was done, she went back to the store and took a picture of the price for sugar where there was no limit sign which is usually right beside the price. She took a picture of the price and asked another white staff member to speak with the store manager; white staff said my mom speak with the cashier who cashed her out, mom said no and asked to speak to a manager. After the staff member spoke with another staff member, he told the manager who came over. The white manager made it look like he was listening but not caring. My mom showed the picture and the manager said it's there and someone pulled it down. The sugars were stacked high in a way on the store floor skid that customers cannot reach and pull the paper sign down. The manager was dismissive towards my mom in his behaviour and attitude towards her; he wanted her to disappear. He tells her "she can take as many as she needs, no one will say anything." What is he insinuating? That my mom told him about his cashier's rude behavior and bad customer service because she wanted more product? She said she'll get the remaining items from another store. My mom left the store disrespected and discriminated against. If you are a customer of colour, avoid this FreshCo in Pickering where white staff discriminates and practices poor customer service against racial customers.

One of our fav. places to shop. Good prices and clean store. They usually have the best prices on Juice, cereal/snakes and Milk. And they do price match. The store is kept very clean. Example, week of April 1st they had great price on Ice Tea and Toilet paper to name few deals...

Great welcoming entrance. Only went in for 3 items, but they were all easy to find. 1 thing that was annoying was the packaged herbs were soaked from the mist, which sprays the vegetables. Also there were a few carts scattered through the parking log. Friendly staff and easily priced matched an item.

Clean place to shop around. Staffs are very helpful. They do match flyers from 3 to 4 stores . It's nofrills, food basic , superstore ... Place currently do not have self checkout . Like to go there during the non busy rush.

I shop here often, and usually, the service is good. I went in last weekend and had some manufacture coupons to use. The nice and polite cashier called over the manager, who had purple hair and glasses. She looked at the coupons and said they couldn't not be applied. I looked over the coupons carefully again and advised the cashier that the coupons could in fact be applied. She called the manager back over so I could explain. I calmly and with respect and good manners, went over the Grammer and fine print with the manager. She didn't understand it either, and before taking a few more moments to comprehend the simple sentence structure which had brackets and exclusions listed, she brushed me off and rudely advised the cashier "just give it to her", as if I was asking for a free handout and she had not time for this kind of unreasonable behavior from a customer. Very off putting and inappropriate behavior for a manager. Some leadership training and customer service training could benefit here.

My local grocery store. It's nice that they still price match, even if it's limited. It's what keeps me going back. The staff is always kind and helpful.

I decided to drive from Ajax to Fresco at 9am on a Sunday morning. I was happy with the deals that I was able to get on a number of products. The quality of food was top notch. The store is well laid out for shopping and covod protocols. Great job! I will be back. My only recommendation during covid at the checkout is to perhaps have every 2nd cash open. It was a little crowded when packing groceries with side by side cashes open. The cashier was super personable, too.

Fabulous store. Clean. Well organized. Fresh stock. I make a trip from ajax just for their produce on regular basis. Have a nice isle for culture specific foods. Great store.

Fine store just they need a better method to get customers to line up for checkout. It's kinda disorganized since there's no real room to line up parallel to the registers and no markings on the floor so you just have half the people lining up on one side and the other half on the while while some people just skip in cause it's not really obvious what the lines even go to. Sad to say that it was more organized and a faster experience when there were more covid restrictions.

Rude supervisor near Shanaque? Needs to learn how to speak with customers, not sure which poor management decided to promote her but she's very rude and unprofessional. Shame how down hill employees have gotten, been shopping here for 20 years back when it was a Price Chopper. They also went against their online Frescho price guarantee policy listed on their website by "posting a sign at the door" comply with what's listed online and stop being sneaky and overcharging people for what they're buying its disgusting.

This place was much better before when it was a price choppers. Since then, it's only scrambled and failed at attaining its former glory. The first time reno really did it in, but it's better than it used to be, just not better than price choppers.

They say, Double fresh guaranteed. And this is what I found, not for the first time. These pictures were taken on 4th September. And milk expired on 1st sep is still sitting there.

I would love to give this place negative stars. Ive come here numerous mornings to find 2 or less registers open. My issue is with managenent as I dont care to yell at low level staff workers (you get what you pay for). Most of us are families living literally next door and around 2 mins walk. It takes minimun 15mins at express and 30 mins at regular cash outs at 9am. This is what is to be expected. Manager is often never there, and conveniently away when matters are bad. She has become an expert and running and hiding like a coward when her customers want fast efficient cash teams.

Amazing staff! Got exactly what I needed when I shopped there and when the lines get too long they have cashier's on standby by to control the traffic volume.

Worst customer service ever. They need more training how to talk with customers. This is the closest FreshCo from my house otherwise I would have avoided this place. If you are visible minority try to avoid this place.

I understand that cashiers have to put up with a lot from customers, as a former cashier myself. But at least a hello and a smile goes a long way. Everytime I go into this Freshco, at the end of my shopping experience, I am greeted with miserable cashiers who do not even say hello to you when you approach them. It might not be all of them who do this but it seems to be the majority. Part of customer service means looking friendly and putting on a smile even if you don't want to. The miserable faces are not very encouraging to come back. If not for the more reasonable prices then other grocery stores, and the location, I would not go back to this store.

Not a bad store, it's about what you would expect from a FreshCo. Decent prices, decent selection, friendly staff. EV charging on the west side of the lot sometimes helps on a busy day of errands for a top up. That alone has made me choose this grocery store a few times.

Tried to buy butter and was told there was a limit of 3 which I’m fine with. So between my wife and I, we bought 6 (3 each) but was denied and said 3 per family. What a joke of a store

This store consistently never has any of the sale items from the flyer. Every time I enter the store looking for a item on sale I am told the same thing. "We sold out". Do they not know how to order? The management at this store is useless and doesn't know what they are doing. In addition I am here on a Friday night and there is 1 cashier open. 0 stars!

Fruits, vegetables are at a higher grade in comparison to Walmart and No frills. Overall, I prefer to shop at Freshco as I get quality for my money and i can purchase groceries using my scene points. Cashiers are friendly and helpful

I drive by this grocery store frequently on my way home from work. It's a convenient location off the freeway and the parking lot is usually relatively empty. I can get in and out quickly, which is perfect for my busy schedule. It's not my favourite store to shop at, but it works.

Prices great. Busy place. Nice staff. Was a bit crowded but they lost a star because of the deposits on the carts. I am a bit picky that way.

Had an amazing experience today! The manager Amy was nothing less than excellent, she was able to help me with locating products I was looking for and ensuring I was checked out properly!! Would definitely do the drive from Markham again, for that type of friendly and helpful service
