We ALWAYS have a good experience at Hot Rocks. Our GO-TO is a pizza, salad and TRUFFLE FRIES! Definitely enough for 3 people sharing. Food is always fresh, tasty and staff are always so nice :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The lady who waited on us was very accommodating and eager to help with the orders. The food was awesome! We absolutely loved the lamb shank and the Cajun pizza that we ordered. The Lamb Shank was super soft and perfectly cooked. The Cajun pizza was so unique in itself. Will surely visit again. Thank you!

Honestly, some of the best food ive tried. They put so much care and thought into how the ingredients work together. They dont just do food, they do it better. Next, service was amazing. The staff really add the finishing touch to the whole experience. From food to staff both really loving what they do created this warm atmosphere which will be hard to find elsewhere.

We had an awesome experience here on Mother’s Day. The food was excellent and very delicious, the service was top notch and the atmosphere was delightful. We had the braised short rib, the lamb shank and shared an order of the gnocchi as well as crème brûlée for dessert. We dream of the gnocchi and plan on coming back just for that dish alone! Definitely worth the hype!

A great place to grab lunch with colleagues and or dinner with family and friends. Hidden away in a small plaza, Hot Rocks Creative Diner never disappoints. Love the wood pizza and Cesar salad. Great Kids Menu which makes family night out easy. The service is always friendly. Recommended calling ahead to book a table to avoid disappointment.

Great place for casual dining in Whitby! We started with an appetizer, their bruschetta, which was AMAZING!!! For dinner, I had the beet salad with salmon added. My Salmon was cooked to perfection! My friend had the traditional pizza with some extra toppings added. He ate the whole thing, that says something about how good it was and it was about 10-12" in diameter;) The service was top notch by our waitress and wait time was not long at all. Book ahead to be sure to get a table.

I ordered lamb and my friend had their pizza, both were fantastic! Hidden gem in a little plaza. The place could use a slight update and deep cleaning but overall a great place to have a good meal.

I have been going here for years and without fail, they always rock!!! The spicy cajun pizza is the best pizza ever. If you drove by this place you wouldn't think it but it's hot, it rocks and it's definitely creative!!! I truly adore this intimate little secret of a dining experience. Wonderful.

My partner and I came here without a reservation but the staff worked hard to fit us in. BOOK A TABLE, this place is always busy and goes by reservations. They'll fit you in if they can but no promises (5/5 for effort and professionalism). The drinks are professional quality. We had the HR Cosmo and Autumn Mule. The mule was delicious, sweet and full of cinnamon. It's a great fall and winter drink (5/5). The HR Cosmo is more bitter than one would expect and the garnishing is definitely not edible (4/5). I had the Chicken, Sausage, shrimp and my partner had the Spicy Cajun pizza. The pasta was a perfect balance of creamy sauce, acidic sundried tomatoes, and amazing portions of all 3 meats (5/5 perfect pasta). The pizza is surprisingly good with ingredients that you wouldn't expect to work together. The mandarin and sweet potato adds a nice sweetness, the chicken is spicy and savory, and the aioli cools down the heat and adds a zest (5/5 happy surprise). The atmosphere is nice and classy which makes it a great place to reserve a spot for a romantic and intimate meal. However, on the note of intimacy it is a little too intimate. You do tend to sit fairly close to other tables so everyone can hear mostly anything. Hot Rocks could use a bigger location as I'm sure it would pay for itself (4.5/5 a little too close to other groups). Final note: The staff are amazing. The waitresses are extremely nice and professional. I made note of the fact that they would step aside with their back to the wall to let you pass and they would thank you for eating there as you pass them, very nice touch. This is a highly professional restaurant with very creative food and drinks. Overall 4.8/5.

Food and service is always top notch at Hot Rocks. Last time I was here I had the chipotle rib special. The special was great the sauce had just enough spice to it and the portions are always big! This is a picture from last time I was there I ordered the short rib which was delicious!

Do not believe the 5 star reviews. If I could give it less than 1 star I would. The quality of this restaurant is extremely inconsistent, and out of the over half a dozen times I have eaten here - only once has my meal been good. The service is inattentive and leaves a lot to be desired. Take out orders are consistently cold. Why order pizza for it to be ready 30 minutes before they say it will? Never going again. Not a Friday, Saturday, or any day of the week. Customer volume is not an excuse for poor quality. Last attempt at this local spot. Portion sizes are pathetic. Do not support a restaurant that does not support its clientele.

Always a great meal and service. Went for my birthday lunch today. Had the Russwich and hubby had their chicken club. Both had Caesar salad and shared the caramel apple cheesecake.

Went to try out their famous pizza. Upon arrival was greeted by a friendly staff. The place has a calm and peaceful vibe. They have a wide variety of wines and other drinks. Had the spicy cajun chicken pizza and the truffle fries. Loved both the dishes. Thanks for a great experience.

Fantastic night spent with some of my OG friends! We decided to share a few items including the Curry Nachos (so so good!) and two pizzas (Cajun chicken and Pickle) both were delicious! Between the 4 of us we were stuffed and couldn't even finish the pizzas! Great portion sizes! Our server was also great and helped with recommendations that did not disappoint. Can't wait to visit again soon!

An absolute 5 star experience here. We stumbled upon this spot along with like 5 others, but I’m so happy we chose to come here for lunch. Our server, Cate was so professional, friendly and quick. We got the traditional pizza to share, the lamb shank and the special of the day (shrimp curry wrap). The latter reminded me of Guyanese shrimp curry with the style of the wrap and the taste, but with a twist and it was divine. Places like this make the dining experience so much better, when care is put into the output of everything. The small details (like the presentation of the tea with saucer, napkin, spoon, milk, sugar) were not overlooked and I appreciate that. In the hustle and bustle of everything, small details usually get overlooked at other dining spots, but not here. If you’re like me and you look forward to extra good care, service and standard, this is the place to come to. Can’t wait to come back and try the other delicious dishes!

We had been here prior to the pandemic, and hoped they would survive. Finally made it back and it still is a wonderful restaurant. Nice menu, excellent staff and service, in a relaxed atmosphere. Pizza is very good, but other entrees like the fish are worth trying too.

first time at this restaurant the food was outstanding so was the atmosphere. Had the baked bruschetta and the shrimp, sausage, and chicken pasta. The only issue was with the service, my server failed to mention there was a special of the day and i only heard of it once the table next to me inquired about it. I wish she wouldve communicated this to me as i would have love to try the lobster ravioli. oh well might come back a second time.

Update: Second visit to Hot Rocks. Did not disappoint. Excellent service and flavourful food. Bruschetta to start. Main meals of braised short ribs and pasta. Cappuccinos are two thumbs up. Will return. Hot Rocks was recommended to us by good friends. Our experience at the restaurant did not disappoint! Our food was delicious. We started with bruschetta and then moved onto lamb shank and curry chicken penne. All perfectly done and presented. We finished with the sticky toffee pudding. Should have taken photo's but was too busy enjoying all the combined flavours! The service was also exceptional. Lori looked after us, making us feel welcome and valued. In fact, all the staff are friendly. From the moment we walked in and throughout the evening. Jesse behind the bar also stopped by our table to welcome us to Oshawa. The vibe in the restaurant is inviting, and based on our experience, we would recommend this location to others.

Friendly staff and a nice meal. We had the lamb chops, a steak special of the night which was delicious with garlic potatoes. We also had the sticky toffee pudding which was just ok, it was more cake like consistency than your traditional sticky toffee pudding. A good meal though and very attentive and friendly staff.

Love this restaurant! Such a great spot in Whitby. The ambiance is amazing and service is always good. The Curry Nachos are out of this world, so are their pizzas, burger and chicken club sandwich. I had sticky toffee pudding here back in April and it was the best I have ever tasted in my life. I love how they rotate their dessert menu!

I have rated 5 stars because honestly I really love this place and I don't want to discourage people from coming or bringing the score down but I have some feedback I want to share. We booked a table July 8th for my fiances birthday and it wasn't as great an experience as we hoped for or like we have had in the past. We really talked this place up to the people in our group who had never been but I think their expectations were so high it was a bit of a let down. First of all, it took AGES for anyone to even really acknowledge us or ask if we wanted something to drink which was frustrating. We just sat there for a very long time waiting awkwardly for someone to greet us. Somebody in our group ordered the lobster pasta ravioli, which they were not all that impressed by, also it was hardly warm, almost cold when it reached our table, and in fact most of our dishes were not hot at all. Soup was barely warm! I also got a pizza with blue cheese, requested extra Blue Cheese and what I received I could barely see any blue cheese at all. At the end of the meal we also sat annoyingly for a very long time waiting to pay and leave. It had to of been a solid 15 minutes we just sat and waited. I am pretty sure we had to ask someone to bring the bill and wait some more. The bill at the end of the meal was over $200 I'm pretty sure but our experience almost didn't feel worth it. I just wish it had been a better experience for that cost, especially on a birthday celebration.

Hadn’t been in quite a few years and took friends who came into town from Montreal. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and a margarita pizza. The pizza was cold and tasteless, the crab cakes were just ok & the coconut shrimp were overdone. The truffle fries were good but no dipping sauce or aioli. I was disappointed and slightly annoyed with the wait staff clearing our plates way too fast & one plate cleared before we even finished the food!

I read some great reviews on Google before coming here. I saw one that mentioned Paella but it's no longer on the menu. Despite this being a strip mall restaurant, the atmosphere was terrific, excellent wait service, amazing menu choices for its location. I will most definitely be coming back to sample other menu options. Well done, you've put a lot of effort into being a fine dining experience and it shows.

Service was very friendly and efficient. Food came quickly and was delicious. Ambience was splendid and the prices were very reasonable. Portions were large and looked as good as they tasted. Would recommend to anyone.

👍👍 This plaza is great from that I've seen, I have been to Putting Edge and LandMark Cinemas here. They have a ton of different options and food places to try from. I will definitely be going back again and trying their different restaurants that caught my attention.

🫤 To begin with, the place itself is nicely decorated and the booths are private so I loved the atmosphere. The server was attentive, so we did feel looked after. The cons are a few, hence the two starts. First, I ordered the fish tacos made with cod and they smelled very fishy and old, even our waitr...
