With the pandemic behind us, the overall cleanliness and overall membership have improved. NOTE: Management needs to BAN those members who are caught defacing the facility, including the state of the men's change room, where some very unsavory things have taken place. I won't mention it here, but they certainly would NOT leave it on the floor of their shower at home. UPDATE: Jan 2, 2023 Things have improved post-pandemic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️on a couple of fronts. Staffing has increased along with attentiveness to the overall appearance of the gym. Though it would be nice if some members treat the gym like they would their own home in a better fashion; cleanliness. Show some respect to the gym from the attendees. It will encourage the staff to do better.

    Possibly the worst customer service by management, and staffing that I have ever experienced. My goods were stolen out of my locker days ago, and I recieved nothing but ignorance, rude backlash, and lack of compassion from a specific employee/management. My goods were later found randomly in the bathroom stall the very next day ironically, and I was banned because I was frustrated that a specific employee did not take matters seriously during the time of the event. I had no car keys, coat, or belongings with me because they were taken from my locker, and the employee did not care and said that it's not his problem. On the clock or off the clock, an illegal matter should be taken seriously when an employee is still lingering onsite. I used specific language f@!^ing i!@t, which resulted in me getting banned. As the vicitm, I feel like I was treated like the perpetrator. I do not recommend that anyone attends this gym due to the lack of compassion/care that their employees offer towards customers. This also is not the first incident, I am sure. I have heard many folk complain about the poor customer service that this gym offers. I, myself will not ever be going back to a fit4less, and I do not recommend anyone takes the risk to sign up at this location. Biggest joke of a location I have ever encountered.

    Not a bad setup for a Fit4less. This must have been a Goodlife location before as the equipment is better than most other Fit4less locations.

    Probably the worst gym in Bowmanville. Machines are constantly broken, customer service is horrendous and no one is ever at the front desk. If you accidentally leave something in your car and need to go back out and get it, don’t even think about coming back in to workout, you won’t be able to scan your card again for another couple of hours and NO ONE is at the front desk to answer the speaker/buzzer. I would not recommend wasting your money at this gym.

    The equipment is great when the staff get around to maintaining and fixing the broken machines! However there is one particular staff member who is probably the most disrespectful person I’ve ever met! He has no compassion and judges the people working out for absolutely no reason, he is almost always on his phone at the front desk and ignore people walking past as if it is not his job to help them. A friend of mine and I asked to use the massage chairs, unaware they were shut off at 9:30 at a location that was supposed to have services available until 10pm. The staff member looked at us and proceeded to say “yes you can use them!” He was nice at first but his entire demeanour changed and with unnecessary attitude said “ but In the morning. It’s 9:39 at night, they close at 9:30” i completely understand not allowing us to use them as they were shut off but the attitude and the way he looked us was very aggressive and intimidating, and due to that staff member this is not a place I enjoy being anymore!

    Can’t wait for the blackcard room to be closed where ALL of the equipment is for construction, hopefully while their at it they can fix the other 5 broken machines 2 cable machines, 2 broken water fountains, lack of air circulation in the gym, etc

    Have been going here when it was still a GoodLife, on and off for about 5 years. Switched to Planet Fitness once, couldn't stand the ugly purple, came back. I've never had an issue with this gym. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I've had minor issues with other people here (equipment hogs but that's typical). Especially during the past couple years, (early 2020-early 2022), everyone, both staff and gym people have been so understanding with masks and wiping down the equipment after use. I didn't give a 5 star rating because sometimes some of the cardio machines (I'm looking at you, stairmasters) are broken/'under repair' for waaayyyy too long it seems (a few weeks) and during the week at 5-6pm if it's busy and machines are broken, it's slightly annoying to have to do something else.

    Was very pleased with this fit4less, It has the foundation of a premium gym. Large selection of equipment, a proper black card room, and gym etiquette. I did go around noon so the time is a contributing factor, very clean and nice. I would recommend it.

    This gym needs a lot of updates and leaves a great deal to be desired. Pros: Wide range of equipment. Cons: - Equipment is outdated and breaks down often or has damage. - Gym is not staffed 24/7. As a result, weight plates are commonly left on equipment. Garbage is commonly left on floor and equipment. Equipment is rarely cleaned by gym users and never cleaned by staff. - locker area and washrooms are dirty and messy. - The temperature at this gym is VERY warm. It makes for difficultly working out and has caused me to feel nauseous and has made myself and friends need to cut our workouts short. - I’ve been charged unfair costs due to company policy. When I explained my situation to the owner, she made excuses up and did not refund as a courtesy. - The employees I dealt with were not knowledgeable when I came in asking for help with my account. Overall, I would not recommend this gym and would recommend traveling into Oshawa for better gym options.

    The gym itself isn’t bad, depending on the time you go. If you try to go after 3 then good luck. All it consists of is groups of arrogant high school kids that just sit around and socialize and flex and take pictures of themselves in the mirrors. Pretty funny to watch and shake your head it, but makes attempting to work out frustrating. Management at this location is also incredibly rude and unprofessional, and no where to be found (clearly reflecting other reviews). The black card area has been closed for 2 weeks, and when I called to ask how much longer, the kid that works the front desk started giving attitude before just hanging up. Also, instead of offering refunds for an amenity that you can’t even use, their logic was “just drive to Oshawa to work out at the fit4less there”. I’m not driving an extra 25 minutes to work out at an even worse gym that doesn’t even offer a change room. Overall just save your money, and avoid the headache that this poorly run gym will give you.

    Change rooms are not being cleaned enough.disgusting.no enforcement what so ever in telling users to wipe down machines after use.explained this to a worker there he said they will put up more signs,never did..

    Forgot to post a good review. Been a member of fit4less since it first opened. When they open up again I will be there. It's a great gym with all the equipment you will need for a great price. Very clean and nice and friendly staff. I love going here.

    I find they play the music too loud considering everyone is wearing their own headphones. Very annoying when hearing two sets of music while trying to relax & exercise!

    Gym is clean and the staff make it easy to help you if needed. Washrooms are clean in every corner. Hydro massage beds are amazing

    super helpful staff! lovely girl named grace helped me figure out some account issues, great gym for the price, i'd recommend going on the off hours as it gets quite busy at its peak!

    After three months of membership, I can say two things: the range of equipment in the facility is excellent; yet it is one of the dirtiest, most poorly maintained gyms I’ve ever attended.

    The staff is friendly and accommodating. Left another gym to go back to this after it changed from Goodlife to fit4less. I'm happy I did !! Thank you ! 😊👍 Thank you to the older man who gave my friend a tour on his day off. That was very kind of him!

    Brody is an honest & helpful individual. Consistently working the floor ensuring that gym supplies are available for the clients & ensuring any questions that we have are answered ASAP. Top notch in my opinion.

    Dirt, dust, paper towel pieces and toilet paper on all the floors. The change rooms are always filthy (someone shaved and left their trimmings on a shower wall??), stains on the urinals, etc. It doesn't seem anything is ever cleaned, including machines. I filled my water this morning and it was white and milky in colour 🤢 (definitely bring your own water from home). Decent selection of machines although there's always a few broken down. Can't argue with the cost. I guess you get what you pay for.

    This fit4less location subpar. This location could use its additional empty spaces for more equipment. Aswell, the temperature in this gym especially the black room is very hot and for me quite uncomfortable.

    I went in for a free trial and apparently Ultimate and Fit for Less are equally ridiculous. No free trials allowed because of “covid”… I went over to LA Fitness and they let me check out their gym and had me sold with their fair prices and amazing customer service unlike this place where I was looked at like I had a third eye for asking to see the gym before buying a membership even though it’s the size of a cubicle and probably not even worth my time anyways. Good luck Fit for Less! LOL

    Buzzed the front desk from the back entrance for 10 mins. Couldn’t get a hold of anyone. Lots of bike machines out of service, as well as washrooms and changes room not properly maintained. There’s toilet paper everywhere and sink stains.

    This is one of the better fit 4 less locations, they have plenty squat racks, cable machines, dumbbell’s and a variety of machines. Compared to other locations it’s very spacious and clean. Im surprised At all the negative reviews. At the price you pay here your getting so much, definitely a hidden gem

    It’s a fantastic gym, I’ve been going there for awhile and I really love it! Sometimes employees are late and there are people waiting around and it can suck because most people have other places to be but overall a great place and very welcoming:)

    Nice space, lots of natural light. Disappointed that nothing seems to get repaired. When you join there is an expectation you have contract. You commit to pay and they commit to provide services. When those services are not made available there is an expectation that the service will return in a reasonable time frame. When it was Goodlife the maintenance team was on site regularly. Bikes that have been out of order for months. Cables that should have been replaced long before they break takes the equipment out of service. Surely a company the size of Goodlife, and don't forget this is the same owner, has an inventory of bikes they could swap out and take the broken bike back for repair. Also, how can they not have inventory on ready to go cables that can quickly be swapped out. Overall, disappointing which forces customers to consider other options. At this location the "Less" in Fit4Less is certainly the level of service we have seen in the past from this location.

    This has to be one of the worst gyms I’ve ever encountered in my 10 years of fitness. The staff is not friendly or approachable, the change rooms are always filthy and disgusting, and the only time I ever see staff making an effort to clean is during peak hours on a SATURDAY when it’s super busy (even though they are staffed at slower times throughout the day). I had a senior male employee literally vacuuming between my feet MID SET, and when I made a sarcastic comment somewhere along the lines of “don’t worry I didn’t want any personal space anyways during my exercise”, the employee angrily made a scene in front of everyone (again during peak hours). I shook it off and continued on with my workout, actively trying to avoid this employee, but as I quietly approached the change rooms later on, he confronted me and continued to raise his voice at me in front of management and other members/employees, vehemently denying that he was unnecessarily too close for comfort. On another occasion, this same senior male employee asked me to let him know if there were women in the change room, so he could go in and change the garbages (again during peak hours), and I politely said I would let him know on my way out after changing. As I’m changing, I was chatting with a few other women, when suddenly the male employee begins to enter the change room unannounced. Another women stopped him and said there are women changing, he waited 30 seconds, then continues in to change the garbages. I found this very uncomfortable and bizarre considering that it was peak hours and he was trying to enter the WOMENS change room, let alone the fact that when he left the change room, he had ZERO GARBAGE with him, as the garbages did not actually get changed. I found this experience incredibly unsettling and completely out of the norm, compared to any other gym I’ve ever been a member at. This gym has decent equipment but the staff is atrocious and management doesn’t care. Many of my friends have began to make the move to switch gyms, and I have now followed suit because of these experiences. If you’re looking to start at the gym for an affordable price, don’t waste your time here when Durham Ultimate Fitness is a stones throw away, with great pricing, amenities and fantastic staff!!
