DaCosta's NOFRILLS Pickering

Bakery Grocery store Deli Fruit and vegetable store

🫤 The location is great and very convenient. The store itself is a bit older and in need of a face lift. I've seen fruit flies in the produce section and also brought some home with me from there so we go to the Port Union location instead which is much, much cleaner. People often mention store, good, location, time, great, shopping, customers, cashier, frills, price,

Conveniently located at Brock Road/Kingston Road in Pickering. Always clean throughout store & great selection of West Indian foods and drinks. Trinidad pimento was a nice find at No Frills and lots of sweet drink to choose from. There were enough cashiers working checkout that there was no line ups. Everything was reasonably priced and easy to find. There's always employees around stocking shelves and maintaining the overall well-being of the store. This is probably by far the best No Frills I've been to and will continue shopping at this location. I can't lie...I like the No Frills swag...from the beach umbrella ($12) to the towel ($8) and the reusable shopping bags ($2-$7). Unsure how long they've had this stuff, but please do promos to feature it! Prices are really good for this gear.

I came here to take my parents grocery shopping. Butter was on a sale with a limit of four. I bought four for my parents, the “manager on duty”’not only refused to sell me my own butter (I live on my own) she screamed at me in front of other customers. Completely unacceptable management of customers, all for four butters. Jason DaCosta time to reevaluate your staff and customer relations.

I had a very good shopping experience with Shelby. She was very friendly, polite, and helpful. She is the first cashier I have interacted with who voluntarily typed in my PC point as my phone has a crack in it, so it often doesn't scan. Many of the other ladies would not do that for me. Good work Shelby!

No frills was great today. I am a first time shopper there and have been frequenting different options to spend less on food but not compromise too much on quality. Today my list was ingredients for giant shell- pasta with ricotta, mozza and tomato sauce. That would be over 55 dollars at loblaws or other stores like it. I grabbed all the ingredients, plus two big yogourts, some Swiss cheese and basil for tonight as well for under $50 taxes incl. There was no line up and the cashier was friendly and fast. Bring your own bag as usual for any grocery store. Below are the pictures of all 9 or so items I scored!

A little bit smaller store than our home store but still well stocked and lots of fresh produce.

Clean, well-stocked store known for it's no frills or no name products. I like their price matching program. Happy to see that they have more cashiers open when it's busy. No photos.

Got insulted by the cashier for just trying to help her. The PC card scanner was placed next to the POS intract machine. After I scanned my card the cashier very rudely insulted me on front of my family. Even after I apologized to her, she kept being rude to me. Feb 4, 2024 at around 8pm Express aisle.

One cashier was very rude to me when I was simply trying to buy my groceries. I tried to communicate that it was not acceptable to treat someone that way and she turned her back on me. Informed store manager. Hopefully they will tell their cashiers to be friendly and polite to customers. Not nice at all. I would try another grocery store as this one has low standards.

I don't usually write reviews but this is the absolute worst nofrills location. Overcharged me for vegetables (the cashier double counted the item), the list prices are incorrect for similar items and there is absolutely no accountability when I brought it up. They kept giving excuses and blamed me for not looking at the right products when the tags are clearly showing the price for the item (i even took a picture and showed it to manager) and they double counted the item. I will no longer come to this location. Don't waste your time when there is another nofrills on 70 island road which is cleaner and bigger a couple of minutes away. Edit: also i confirm a previous review here that products very close to expiration (2 to 3 days) are being sold close to regular price so please check expiration date.

I am so sorry but this is the worst No frills I've ever been to. It is so small and so crowded and the selection is so bad. The line is always around the store and takes forever and it's dirty and I'm just really really unimpressed :( they don't even have a President's choice ATM machine but at least they do cash back

Quite a smooth and positive shopping experience....there was a mission on hand----oh yeah! I was in dire need of whatever a really really good SALAD gives ya...fibre I'm guessing 🤯👆.... Sadly the fresh Romain 🥬 wasn't.....but luckily there was some other choices. Ended up settling with their Red Leaf Lettuce (which looked amazing) and grabbed their very last pre-made ready 2 go box of organic Caesar Salad..that came with all the fixins. 😲🤗 💥💥💥🦠👎 Good thing I grabbed that red leaf as the Romain in the fancy organic box was totally inedible. So lesson here is always get more Lettuce than u think you'll need😲🤗👏. The rest of the store looked pretty good and well stocked😉. And the best part and reason for such a high star 🌟 grading is the fabulous cashier (totally didn't catch ur name)....but you are amazing ----- I can make this judgement even in the 2 maybe 3 minutes we were transacting 👆👏😁.

Best No Frills in the area. Yes you have to hunt for the good products, check expiry dates, and maybe sometimes the product you want is not in stock. But that’s life. Sobeys is no better and way more expensive. Most of the time; stock is there and the staff do their best. I always come back to find the deals.

Better prices than most grocery stores these days and good selection for a more affordable supermarket. It's easy to see why it's busy on weekends.

Wouldn’t recommend going here for P/C Express pickup. The purpose of express pickup is to grab and go. Not have to wait for an employee to assist (at least 10 min) you in unlocking the fridge in the tight space by the checkout.

Budgets unfriendly supermarket with courteous and helpful staff. Pleased ensure you carry a loonie if you intend to use a cart. No self checkouts but sufficient cashiers available most of the time.

Cashiers are not trained to handle PC points redemptions and when errors occur, the manager Jason refuses to take ownership. My wife was the subject of rude, shameful and discriminatory remarks. Will never shop here again.

Good prices, fruits veggies really fresh, not fancy or deluxe but great value for your money. They are lacking alot of latose free products. Have to shop elsewhere often because of this but pretty good selection of groceries for small location. Pretty friendly staff but they change often I notice.

Produce is ok. Many items are not available when there are good deals (either at no frills or through price matching). I've overheard a manager say that they won't buy something because it's 'too expensive', yet customers are looking for it. Tells me they put profits before their customers' experience. I get it's a business, but it feels like they don't care about their customers. I'm hoping a new grocery store gets opened up at Roseland and Brock so I can go elsewhere.

Store is good with items are well stocked. But cashiers are bit rude towards customers. Hope they treat the customers properly in the future

Have a great experiences at the snow frills. Especially with their click and collect program. I always get a call when my order is ready, and often very well ahead of time. If you catch the phone call they're really willing to work with you on substitutions and very helpful. If you missed the phone call the person is usually gone before noon, and you'll be out of luck. Also no frills is great for budget grocery shopping. But you will find that sometimes items are missing because of costs or other reasons.

Without prior notice they stopped price match!!! Refused to price match with Freshco. When you change policy which relates to customer should be published somewhere just like that stopping is not fine. Wasted my time

I went there this morning to pick up a few things including cat litter but after having surgery I was not able to lift anything. The young man that opened the store this morning bagged all my groceries and brought everything out to my car for me..Really great service. I love this no frills location

Called PC express to cancel my order she called the store as the order was already picked. Took 20min for someone to answer then when she did pick up the fun began! PC express clearly stated where she was calling from to the store associate. When PC Express asked the associate to cancel the order the associate said she could not that I would have to call PC express. Wow!! Clearly not listening as many times she was told it was PC Express calling she kept repeating I needed to call express! Customer service from express repeated numerous times that she was calling from there when she asked for the associate name the store associate said you don’t need my name! WOW 😯 The store associate was rude and clearly did not know her job or just didn’t want to do it!! When asked to go get someone who knew how to cancel she again refused!!! The owners should be made aware of the POOR SERVICE AND THE ASSOCIATE ARGUING AND YELLING AT US BOTH!! I have never experienced such rudeness Then the associate said I will be charging the customer a service charge to cancel!!! NOT HAPPY WILL NOT SHOP HERE

Kind of dirty. Gives me old Knob Hills vibe. Parking lot is strange. But the location is pretty large and usually has what I'm looking for. I only really go to this location when the ultra small Ric's No Frills doesn't have what I'm looking for in stock (which is often)

I use the PC Express pickup at this location every other week, and it's always a fantastic experience. Groceries are packed efficiently, reducing trips/waste. They're often ready ahead of scheduled pick up time, so I can grab it early if available.
