A lovely place to visit for both religious and history purpose if you are into its role during WWII. We had a guide who explained the damages that was done to it during time war. Otherwise there is absolutely no information on it as the abby does not want any reminder of it. Limited parking at the top for cars but during the low season it doesn’t seem like an issue.

As someone of Polish ethnicity, these hallowed grounds struck a deep resonance with me.The heroic plight of the Polish army in the second world war that fought here had me actually moved to tears. Its a fascinating contrast between the history of the WWII battle and the unbelievable history of the monastery itself. Vising this place is truly an otherworldly trip back in time and is one of the most interesting places I've ever been to in my life.

We stopped by on our trip through south Italy because of the history of the abbey. Worth a visit this place as well as the museum.

This monastery is utterly charming and beautiful. Would recommend coming on a day with good weather as the views from and exterior of this place are an essential part of the experience. The chapel below the altar was probably my favorite chapel I have ever been to and worth the trip all on it's own.

Definitely worth seeing if you are in the area. The view and landscape are breath taking. There’s also a brewery near by called “birrificio Monte Cassino” where the beer is locally produced.
