Arrived for our first night in Budapest, Pointers provided all we needed after a long day of traveling. Cheap beers, ESPECIALLY during happy hour, amazing service with a splash of humor, a pub which makes you feel personal and respected. They have amazing cappuccino’s which are dark and creamy, outstanding Hungarian goulash soup and cheesy pizzas…the only thing I could really say that would reduce a star is the music choice. It’s pop, mainstream, American, and sort of lame. Other than that, Pointers will always be a lovely pub for me. Especially the one on Kecskeméti u. 15, 1053 Hungary!

Our last evening in Budapest before heading to the next venue in the next city, we were wandering aimlessly, checking things out, and quite literally stumbled upon this place. Luckily for us, they had menus attached to the tables outside. We took a quick peak and collectively said "yep!" I had the 3-Course Hungarian Dinner: 1. Goulash Soup w/ an unnecessarily delicious homemade roll that was baked and toasted to something more perfect than perfection. 2. Chicken Paprikash. I've never had this before (that I'm aware of, doesn't mean it didn't happen in a haze one evening though...), and I'm quite sad I've not had something as delectable as this in my mouth since I was a wee lad. 3. Palascintas for dessert (delicious crepes with yumminess jammed everywhere you can jam yumminess into yumminess)! My one buddy had a burger and fries and a full size order of palascintas (pictured) he REALLY enjoyed, and the other bloke? Welllllllllll, the other bloke had himself a full English breakfast. Being a British fella, he was pleasantly surprised when it was on the menu, then again when it was in his mouth! I even stole a bite of the blood pudding and I have to agree! - KG! 🤘🏻🤘🏿🤘🏽

Worst goulash from Budapest, and maybe From the entire world! Also, the entire food that they are providing is very bad!

Service was slow and they delivered my hamburger cooked without removing the plastic. I almost swallowed the plastic. Maybe this was an accident but I told this to the manager and there was no action, not even some formal/minimal excuses.

Good beer, good atmosphere, good service. Prices are typical for tourist spots meaning food is expensive compared to other places but I didn't actually try anything on the menu. Just came in, had a beer with a friend and left. Definitely recommend checking it out just for the atmosphere and good vibes alone.

The staff was nice enough to change the channel on of their TVs so we could watch Croatia's team football match. That alone is worth the 5 stars, but when you factor in the favorable beer prices (they have one liter glasses!) and quite spot-on British pub decor and ambiance - you have the full Monty.

Nice cocktails for a good price. Terrace is a little bit small, so sometimes you have to sit inside. Also, by law they have to close the terrace at 23:00. But it is a nice pub with friendly personel. Absolutely worth it of you are staying at the Mercure hotel across the street.

Came across this 'pub' by chance as the previous bar I was told to sit down and wait to be served. 10 minutes later I left and found the Pointer Pub. Great British pub, popular but not uncomfortably crowded during day or evening. Have a great Hungarian three course meal if you want to give the Hungarian cuisine a go. No nonsense, lots of cheap drinks and food.

We ordered the Hungarian Menu for 9€. The Gulash soup and Chicken paprikash were both pretty much cold. Good and tasty but cold. So nothing warm. Pancakes werent in plural but there was only one pancake. There were supposed to be two on the menu but we got only one. The Hunter beer wasnt good at all so it had to be replaced with good Guinness. So nothing really exciting.

Very nice cozy pub around the corner from our hotel. We went in the first night for some cocktails and when we came in on our second day the lady recognized us and asked us if we wanted the same drinks. Love that for us :) would recommend for an easy night of drinking.

Good food normal prices but really slow

A very average pub of below average quality. The Moscow Mule is a sweet mish-mash. The red beer was a bit watery. I also do not recommend the English breakfast in the evening: the toast is made in the morning and served cold. I am also not sure about the other ingredients. The cider on tap is a commercial sweet one. You can find a way better pub in this price range.

Nice pub near Korona hotel , sercem a lot of toasty Hungarian traditional dishes and drinks. Very nice staff. Everyday they have special offers and promotions.

has a very vibey atmosphere with a nice bar, television showing football matches and pop/edm music. the staff is friendly and easygoing, making us feel at ease during our meal. we got the hungarian goulash (beef, potatoes and carrots soup served with bread) that was comforting and the beef was tender; dip snack plate (pizza bread with four different dips—spicy, garlic, cheese and yoghurt) that was tasty and filling; hungarian beef stew (beef with flour dumplings) that was delicious. we also got the hungarian sponge cake (chocolate with a tinge of alcohol) that came with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, i don’t mind giving this a miss as i’ve had better cakes, but it was a good experience. overall, the food was decent and we came because it opened til 2am. i would not come specifically for the food but it definitely has good vibes for a drinking night. it is an expensive place though as our meal cost 60 euros.

The food and drinks were really good, they were playing oldies and the best part, they are super friendly even to tourists. Not only we had a nice chat, but the waiter went outside under the rain to help us out with some directions. Lovely people!

Went for breakfast twice on a lads trip. Typical Brits who find a decent place and stick to it. Would reccommend the full English breakfast. They don't serve coke on draft though. Only in little glass bottles. Bit annoying when you're rough.
