Luxury and tranquility in the heart of a busy city - by far my favourite hotel in Madrid! The beds are exquisite, rooms are spacious and quiet. The attention to detail and dedication from all staff is first class and very much appreciated. Can't wait to return. Mil gracias!

Absolutely exceptional hotel. Superb service, excellent rooms, very nice Red Level if you can spare the cost, and it’s perfectly located. Minutes walking distance from the Royal Palace, Mercado de San Miguel and Plaza Mayor. Very friendly to families with small children too, despite it being a boutique property.

Truly one of the best hotels I have stayed in . I’m usually a picky customer, but the level of service is exceptional. We were red carpet members which is the VIP section. We were the only Indians there , they treated us so damn well. The garden in the hotel is amazing for breakfast, afternoon tea . Everything about the hotel screams class without excess . The rooftop has the best best views of Madrid , with a jacuzzi at the roof . All the staff are extremely knowledgeable and kind . The only downside was the dessert section for the all day buffet , the desserts weren’t that delicious but everything else is superb .

Amazing location - walking distance to sights and shops. True luxury in every single respect. The staff, the food, the service, the setting. Not over priced when you’re there either in my opinion. This must be one of the best hotels in Madrid, I wouldn’t go anywhere else

We chose the Palacio as our last stop of our honeymoon and wow was this a great decision. We contemplated upgrading to their red level, however the supreme room was spectacular. The service was outstanding, the food amazing, the massage fantastic, and the roof deck pool/bar just wonderful. It was a great way to relax at the end of a long and energetic honeymoon/vacation and we appreciate everything. Thank you!

Not sure why the one stars or low reviews. Ignore them. Stay here. You won’t regret it. Family friendly hotel for young kids, staff was exceptional and warm to us all. As someone else wrote, it made it hard to want to leave the palace to see the rest of the city. Excellent location, great value, awesome breakfast. They even have one universal adapter in the room to borrow during your stay.

Our hotel experience was fabulous! The staff is lovely, professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. The hotel itself has been beautifully designed, the rooms are gorgeous, spacious, the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable and CLEAN. The rooftop pool and bar is exceptional, and the concierge lounge was delightful. We had a great stay and highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is truly top tier! Honestly missed out on seeing Madrid because we didn’t want to leave the room!! Staff was beyond gracious and helpful. Red level is definitely the way to go. I would recommend to everyone. Unforgettable accommodations.

Wonderful place with exceptional staff. The room, the food and every other aspect of this hotel are the best we've encountered in a very long time... Redlevel service was a real treat and thank you Maria for my wife's birthday surprise! We will come again.

Good position close to the city center, efficient and nice personnel, and great breakfast. The building is very nice in a historical palace with a wonderful courtyard, the only flaw is that the building is quite a low rise and rooms don't offer a particular view. Inside a gym and a wellness center for massage are available (I tried a massage with my wife, good service), but there isn't a spa (none inside pool, sauna, etc.) that I would expect in a 5 stars. Overall good value for money, I would be happy to be their guest again.

Great location. Easily accessible to restaurants and the shops. The staff is super friendly and housekeeping even folded my clothes while I was out! Breakfast was amazing. Wouldn’t miss it. The rooftop has a pool and is great to take pics for sunset

We booked Palacio de los Duques Gran Melia through Costco travel. Overall the experience was great! Since the moment we showed up at the door, we've experienced superb service that fits the image of the hotel perfectly. We had a supreme family room, which is spacious for the four of us. The bathroom was no question the best we ever had. The main bed was the most comfortable. However, the sofa bed can use some upgrade to be at the same level as everything else! Concierge service was really helpful as we were looking for local restaurants were open at Christmas eve! Ramon made multiple phone calls to help us find great places to eat. The location of the hotel can't be any better. Walking distance to most of the places we visited and it's right next to the Royal Palace. It's also very close to two Metro stations, which makes it very easy to get to places farther away. Our family felt lucky that Costco found the Gran Melia for us and it helped make the whole experience in Madrid such a memorable one! Thank you to all staff members at the doorway, the front desk, the restaurant, and room service!

I stayed in the Hotel on a business trip for a week. The room was on the first floor to the courtyard. Very quiet and a comfortable bed, with a modern medium size bathroom (shower & bath). The bidet and toilet were separated from the bath, a nice feature. The location is in the city center close to all tourist attractions. However for luxurious shopping a location closer to Salamanca would be a better choice. The service at reception, concierge and restaurant was friendly, helpful and attentive. The restaurant has excellent Iberian Ham, while the calamari and octopus weren’t not able to match such a taste. I would recommend the Hotel for any stay in Madrid, very good value for money.

This is a truly unique hotel conveniently located in the heart of Madrid. The location of the hotel is central yet its isolated from the noisy areas which is great. The hotel staff is knowledgeable, polite and detail oriented. Our room had all the necessary amenities, were clean and were very was maintained extremely well. The breakfast was also one of the highlights! Highly recommended.

A fantastic hotel with the most wonderful staff. Gorgeous suite in Red Level. We ate in bar on two occasions and the food was very well cooked. Great location near to Royal Palace and Opera Metro. Can’t wait to return

I wish they change the carpets & curtains, it makes the room look so dated. Besides that, my friends & I enjoyed our stay in Madrid. The employees were all friendly and accommodating.

This hotel was very nice. The staff were nice and the rooms were nice as well. Make sure to get the Red Level access. If you need to pay extra for that get it. Worth it for the small snacks but especially the drinks. The staff were all real friendly and it is in a great area.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The level of service is exceptional, the building and rooms are stunning and modern, the rooftop has amazing views over the city. Breakfast and cocktails are delicious. Thank you for an amazing stay, I will definitely come back !

Apologies for the delay in submitting but thought it was important that I did! Date of trip: 26th Aug 2023 My daughter and I recently returned from an AMAZING four night stay at the Palacio de los Duques to celebrate her birthday and WOW what an amazing hotel it is!! We had been travelling since 3am and were both extremely tired. You can imagine our surprise when we were informed that our room was available straightaway. We were so thankful. The hotel also extended our check-out on departure too. :) Our room had been upgraded and WOW!!! What a beautiful spacious room it was. The amenities in the room were amazing (even down to the lip balm which was unexpected) and the steam presser. I've never used one of these before but have now purchased one for the home. Breakfast was extremely appetising and so much on offer. The restaurant manager and waiting staff always went above and beyond to look after us each day. Grace on the concierge desk was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and always greeted us with a smile. It was our first time to Madrid and we will definitely be returning. I would like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to: Ruben Maria Alejandra Borja Jordan Grace Zakirah Maravel, and Jorge For making our trip so special and memorable. Kerry & Jasmyn

From July 27th-July 31st my mother and I stayed at your beautiful hotel. I wanted to express how grateful I am to all the staff from the front desk, to the wonderful staff at the restaurants, and to the wonderful security guard M Backe. . Everyone treated my mother and I with such kindness, respect and hospitality. My mother is 73 years old, and I wanted her to experience Spain and the beautiful culture. > Angel was so kind to my mother and I, and helped us so much. He is absolutely wonderful and treats the hotel guests which much kindness and is extremely helpful. As my mother is older, she had some difficulty connecting to the wifi, and he took a few minutes away to help her connect with her phone. All the staff at the restaurant and waiters/waitresses were so lovely and welcoming. Ana was so kind, and welcomed us with a smile every day. Aleksey, and Ismael always came to our table and asked us how we were doing and how we were enjoying our stay. > > Mbacke, the security guard was wonderful, kind and went out of his way to make my mother and I feel welcome. One day during my stay I was not feeling well and had a cold/flu. My mother went downstairs and asked the kitchen to make me some soup, and asked for some honey. All the staff in the hotel, asked about me and showed their concern. I had the most delicious soup, and the staff brought me tea and saved some bottles of honey that I could use to treat my sore throat. The hospitality your staff gave me was nothing more than above and beyond. Even when I felt better the next day, the staff came to my table and inquired about me during breakfast and asked if I needed anything. > > I am so thankful for the wonderful staff including Adrian, Angel, Alexandria, Beatriz at the front who first welcomes us to the hotel, Mbacke the kind guard, Rodrigo and Ismael (who both always stopped by to chat with us and inquire how our stay was), and wonderful Sebastian at the front entrance. > > I have never had a trip where I formed such admiration and gratitude to the staff, as I did with this trip to your hotel and the hotel I stayed in Lisbon (La Avenida Palace). Your staff went above and beyond to make sure my mother and I were comfortable during our stay. > > Your hotel is exquisite, the rooms are spacious and the food is beyond delicious. However what makes it extremely special is the people that work at Palacio de Los Duques. > For those of thinking of booking and staying at this hotel. Do not hesitate to book here. Another amazing thing about the hotel is it is right next to one of my most favorite places in Madrid-The Royal Palace which is nothing but spectacular. On evenings after a tour, I would walk around the small garden in front of the palace and it was only foot steps away from the hotel. Madrid is so amazing, I hope to return soon and stay at Duques again :)

We recently had the pleasure of staying in this fantastic hotel for two nights. The location is great, smack in the middle of everything, however, the hotel offers a great sense of tranquility. The interior design is warm and homey while at the same time luxurious and elevated. The service is frankly speaking some of the best I have experience in Europe. I remember the concierge telling me upon arrival „welcome home“, which I found sums up my experience quite nicely. One of - if not the best - hotel I have stayed in in Europe.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying in this exquisite hotel in September 2023 with other team members. The hotel is stunning. Tranquil in the middle of everything. We would walk to restaurants, shopping, clubs, rooftop bars. The hotel has both a homey & luxurious feel about it. You definitely feel like you've stepped into something special when you walk around the hotel. The service was beyond exceptional. A special mention must be made to our incredible night waiter each evening as we would finish the evening off woth a drink or tea -- Adrian. He served with a constant smile on his face, a warmth & professionalism that made you feel valued. And Aleksy, was always readyvto smile & greet everyone so happily each morning at the breakfast bar. Highly, highly recommended staying here. Its an experience of a lifetime.

Great experience. Much better than ‘Madrid Edition’ Hotel. Location, restaurant and rooms are superior. The rooms have a bath which seems to be rare these days. Will be staying again when in Madrid.

My recent stay with the hotel was nothing short of amazing. My sister and I stayed at the hotel for 6 nights, and the quality of service we received was outstanding and very consistent. Apart from the beautiful decor and room setup, as it was our first time in Madrid, we had many queries during our stay for the reception/concierge/in-room service, all of which were handled very professionally, and everyone was so friendly and eager to help. I also required medical attention during the stay, and was so grateful for the attention and kindness that the hotel staff has given me. Thank you so much for making our stay memorable and for all the help you have given us, and hope to come back to your hotel soon!

Stay 27.08.2021 - 29.08.2021 I would give the Palacio de los Duques Gran Meliá 6 stars if that were possible. A great room with excellent facilities and absolutely outstanding service. As a frequent traveller who mainly uses 5 star hotels I have international comparisons and this hotel is definitely in the top 1%. The service is of such a high standard that it is hard to match. Personal approach, friendly reception, extremely well-informed concierge, maximally helpful room service (!) (!!) - all superlative. I have rarely felt so welcome in a hotel as I did in this one. Many thanks for this.

My partner brought me here for my birthday. What a treat. This place exhumes class, hidden in the old town close to the royal palace and opera house. Well worth the views from the rooftop pool/jacuzzi/bar. Also, some advice (valid as of the date of this post): Make sure to book from the hotel's website (not Trip Advisor and the like) and apply for their membership - you'll get 85€ free credit. You also get a free room upgrade, if available.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Location wise and customer service are top notch! Everyone single person you come across goes out of their way to accommodate you here. 2 of my favorite are Caesar at Conciege, he’s the best Conciege personals I have dealt with. He helped us with our reservation to our next stop , Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽 And next I’d like to mention Carlos again can’t say how great he is! If I ever go back I’m definitely staying there again 💯

Lovely hotel. Awesome breakfast. Staff is attentive and very accommodating. Little details were important- never had to wait for an elevator, concierge was helpful and always available, location is great (try the wine bar across the way). When many hotels are still not cleaning rooms, it was nice ours was cleaned 2x a day. They included special touches for our honeymoon. Lastly, we enjoyed the views and quick service on the rooftop pool. Would stay again!

The service was amazing. The room was spotless. The food was fantastic. There is no other hotel in Madrid that I would recommend. They made our stay extra special for us. We had harrowing travels trying to get to Spain and after 5 minutes in their hotel, they made everything absolutely perfect. Thank you!

We had such a great time while staying at the Palacio de los Duques Gran Meliá! It’s a 5 minute walk to the Royal Palace of Madrid which is very fun to explore! Tamara, one of the concierges was so helpful in planning out a night in Madrid. She had suggestions for tapas places, to booking a dinner reservation at Ramses, to getting us tickets to a disco after party! She did a great job making the night memorable! She even helped plan a private tour of Toledo for us for the following day.

Excellent service, excellent hotel, excellent location. Paula at the Dos Cielos restaurant was wonderful. She went above and beyond to not only make sure we had a good dinner experience but also gave us great information about the city and places that we should visit. This kind of hospitality and personal experiences is what would bring me back! I highly recommend it and will go back again.

It was the perfect stay! thank you Marina, the bartender and Clara at restaurant and Khrystina for your service! Everyone from the door forward has been so wonderful and helpful I had to take time to write this review.

Lovely rooms, extraordinarily courteous and attentive staff, a beautiful garden, and a breakfast buffet that frankly has no right to be as good as it is (it's kind of ridiculous how good the hotel kitchen is, actually).

Our 2-night stay at the Palacio de los Duques Gran Meliá Madrid was a true luxury experience. Traveling as a couple with a baby, we had the pleasure to stay at this beautiful hotel, located perfectly in the heart of the city and with easy access to all main attractions. Other than the beautiful amenities and room (booked the red level deluxe, which was perfect along with the perks given to red-level guests throughout the stay), the service of the entire staff, from the concierge, reception and the restaurants was by far one of the best service we got - always attentive and with a smile, helping us with any issue or question at no-time. This is an hotel in the highest standards, for guests looking for luxury stay, top-notch service and great vibes. We highly recommend it! We will be back for sure! Daniel

Lovely slick reinvention of a beautiful grand palace. We booked a package in the US. Our room wasn’t ready because we arrived very early in the morning. The staff were very generous and called us two hours after we arrived. (3 hours before check-in). The room was beautiful, spacious, clean and well appointed. It was a nice introduction to Madrid. The staff swings by a couple times a day to clean, replenish supplies and to turn down the bed. The breakfast was generous and well staffed. Would most likely stay at this hotel again. The lobby is modern and beautiful and has the light scent of tea and roses. Loads of fashion and meninas. Check out the pool and the garden. Yes a pool in the middle of Madrid!

  • 5/5 Marko P. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely one of the best hotels in Europe. The combination of a perfect location, superior service and facilities, luxurious rooms and a foyer opening onto a large garden in the center of the city is something that no other hotel in Madrid can boast. Worth every euro cent. We will definitely be back.

  • 5/5 David K. 1 year ago on Google
From the moment we were greeted by Hector as we arrived out of our cab, the professional and very friendly staff were very accommodating. This was every bit a 5 star hotel and a great location. The staff made great recommendations on where to go for events, restaurants and historic sites to visit. Amazing service, can't wait to come back again!
