Horrible experience.What is a hospital?It's supposed to take you on the path of healing through medicine and emotional support by the doctors and nurses. -Dr Santhosh Bharathan is not easy to find.He won't come for rounds or if he is coming he will not hear the patient and he will walk off by not even spending a minute.Be nice to the patients and no harm in ensuring that they are relaxed doctor.The only time I saw him over a minute was at the operation theatre. -Never tell them you are insurance covered.They will charge you like crazy for no reason. -Ensure the discharge summary has all the procedure that is carried out.I can bet you it won't 99% of the time. -Ask what surgery you are going to get and recovery time, pain levels associated with. It all looked like a money looting operation, my case was horrible, had reoccurrance and never got any help from them. Posting it here so that it migh help atleast one guy who is thinking to go here.

My treatment for fistula was in 2010, eleven years ago, When I talked about reimbursement from government he charged me 45000 which was very high at that time. The disease came back in 2020 after 10 years. But my experience was good except for the high amount they charged.

Money looted greedy hospital only They may be good old times.For just consulatation 5000 rs needed.Before seeing patients they compelled to do 2000 k unnessassary tests.If you have same reports they didnt check.For their safety 2- 3 tests below 600 only needed.Dr fees is 1500,its above comparing with good super speciality hospital having good facilities.Also for proctoscopy they charged 1500.Other ano rectal surgeon do it freely as a part of their usual check up .Additionally 5k you have to pay for Unnessassary antibiotics without finding any organism.Examination is by unskilled staffs.Not recomend interns of money ,service ,behaviour towards patients .

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. IT'S one week of discharge and still I have not received discharge documents and bills which I have to submit to insurance company for claim. Staff is not at all responsible once payment is made. They are more into business rather than service. It was very painful laser surgery, I was screaming all through the procedure. Only until you get admitted the doctor will listen to your concerns and after surgery he will tell that nurse will talk to you about the pain and give medicine. Very painful process, but he explains that there won't be any pain during surgery which is false. After surgery you can't sleep even after taking pain killers and sleeping injection. Not recommended, healing may take up to a month depending upon patient.

Business oriented hospital ,staff behavior is also not good. Even before consultation they ask to pay 5k , as consultation fee and various lab test charges. Never heard of such system before, compulsory lab tests without even seeing the patient. This seemed very unprofessional to me. It was a good hospital during Dr Bharathans period, 25 years before.

This hospital is now famous for the treatment of piles and other related diseases.

The Doctor Santhosh, son of Dr. Bharathan is very cordial. He describes what is the stage of our disease and whether it can be treated medically or not. In most advanced stage surgery is an option. He prefer laser haemerroidectomy to minimize pain and hospital stay. When you agree to continue with surgery,you will be transferred to upper floor where a nurse is ready to describe you the cost. It is roughly around 55 to 60 thousand. You will be discharged in three days after observation without burning sensation.

WORST HOSPITAL. PLEASE DON'T GET INTO THIS TRAP. The only procedure they know to do is laser burning. As per studies later, I found that it was not recommended by any other doctors. This is a money oriented hospital and they don't care about you once you get admitted. And if you have an insurance claim, the charges are exorbitant as per their wish. Only few sisters are human minded, rest don't care about what pain you go through, they just follow the regular sequence of medicines and procedures they are told to do without even listening to you. I got the laser surgery (damage) done for a simple fissure, post which I suffered like hell to heal from the damages done to me by the laser burning. Later I realised that the laser made more damage than the original illness. The moment the surgery is done, the doctor also didn't give any emotional support or even take time to answer any queries. He literally spends 5-10 seconds during the rounds to listen to the patient. It was a mental torture I went through due to their in-human behavior. It may be true that it might be a better hospital when the senior doctor was there, but now it's a money making business. There might be cases where few might be getting cured now days. But please know that it is your luck. After months of not healing the wound, I was emotionally supported and saved by another Senior Doctor Surgeon from a very old Hospital (Mavoor Road, Calicut). More than 7 months I suffered to recover from major damages done by this Thalassery Hospital. PLEASE FIND OTHER OPTIONS THAN LASER TREATMENT. IT IS DAMAGING, ALSO HIGH CHANCES OF RELAPSING.

Business oriented hospital ,staff behavior is also not good,especially after collecting money..Its a non approachable hospital for an ordinary people as they are charging too high for unnessassary blood tests and urine tests ( around 2000 Rs) ,just before seeing patients..For simple proctoscopy charging 1500 other than dr fees 1500.( Usually proctoscopy is a routine procedure for an anorectal examination.) .So minimum 5k needed for just priliminary consultation itself .Additionally medicinal charges too( it may be also 2k +). They don't collect bill on single counter ,though its a small hospital without that much rush.The patient will get confused how much they are paying,also they will give you casual handwritten bill only without showing breaks up and GST , can't submit for reimbursement. Though charging high they don't have patient convenient lithotomy examination table etc..They are doing examination carelessly without proper relaxation of the patient by unskilled nurses.So simple Haemorrhoids will change to acute fissure,they can add additional medicine for new complaints too .It will be better to opt multi-speciality hospital having better modern facilities at this prize and poor services offered by them.. For simple invasive banding like procedures an average hospital with this facilities may charge maximum 10 k only .Anyway not recommended in terms of service , modern facilities ,high charges .They have traditional background only now to claim..By believing their old fame patients get cheated ,now it's only a business oriented firm.

Pathetic experience.Please don't visit this hospital..Please go through all the reviews given by the patients who visited there.Even though after reading reviews ,by believing traditional stories me visited there and cheated like all others.Its never a suitable place for international or metro city person,or even nearby persons.They will get most advanced treatments from good super speciality hospitals or from ayurveda or homeo hospitals .Its very low average local hospital with old facilities and old surgical painful procedures.You can see sad reviews from patients who underwent treatment from here.
