I visited island by walk. On tourist season ( except Monsoon / heavy rain season which is June to October ) check tide table for Kannur and understand the low tide schedule. Just arrive before low tide and if the sea is calm, you could walk but be careful and don't go near any rocks where depth is more. The 10 minute walk through the sea is awesome. Really an amazing thing to do. Water will be probably below your knees or close to foot only on full moon or no moon day. Inside the island, there is nothing special to see, there are no snakes or any such creatures to afraid. But make sure, you reach back to main land before high tide. Otherwise its so difficult and you have to wait till next LOW tide which is probably after 12 hours. The view of main land from island is nice.

Dharmadam Island, also known as Green Island, is a stunningly picturesque islet located off the coast of Dharmadam Beach, near Thalassery in Kerala, India. This privately owned island, spread across 5 acres, is surrounded by the Arabian Sea and the Anjarakandy River, making it a secluded paradise. The island is noted for its lush coconut palms and dense green foliage, which offer a breathtaking contrast against the azure waters that encircle it. The beauty of Dharmadam Island lies not just in its scenic landscapes but also in its tranquil ambiance, providing a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Accessible by foot during low tide, this natural wonder becomes a temporary peninsula, allowing visitors a unique opportunity to explore its untouched beauty up close. However, visitors should be mindful of the tides to ensure safe passage back to the mainland. Historically, Dharmadam was known as Dharmapattanam, a Buddhist stronghold, and the island itself carries a sense of timelessness, with its pristine beaches and verdant canopy offering a glimpse into the natural beauty that has remained largely unchanged over centuries. Though direct public access is restricted due to private ownership, the views from Dharmadam Beach and the surrounding areas are spectacular, making it a popular spot for photographers and nature lovers. Dharmadam Island's importance extends beyond its visual appeal; it serves as a crucial habitat for local flora and fauna, including migratory birds that visit the island. It embodies the rich biodiversity of Kerala's coastal ecosystems, emphasizing the need for conservation and sustainable tourism practices to preserve such natural treasures for future generations. In essence, Dharmadam Island is a jewel of Kerala's coastline, encapsulating the serene beauty and ecological diversity that makes the region a paradise for those seeking solace in nature's lap. Its allure lies in the simplicity of its natural landscapes, promising a truly enchanting experience for every visitor.

Near to drive in beach in Kerala, Muzhapilangad beach. We can go to the island by early morning or afternoon, but need to check with the local about the timings. Please make sure the going and coming back timing is clear with locals because otherwise we might not be able come back by walk through the sea. Its just an Island nothing specific so you can roam around and come back before the water level rises. Please take care of the mobiles and electronic gadgets during the Journey through water.

Very near to the famous drive inn beach in Kerala, Muzhapilangad beach. We can go to the island by early morning and should come back before 8am. Otherwise we canโ€™t come back by walk through the sea. Its just a island and nothing impressive inside the island.

The Green Uninhabited Island... Kannur, the land of looms and lores has few unique travel destinations too. Muzhappilangadu beach, one of the longest drive-in beach in Asia is one of them. Another one is a pristine scenic island at dharmadam, located few kilometers away form Muzhappilangadu. Nowadays Dharmadam is gaining popularity among people seeking a secluded spot. This uninhabited island lies barely 100 meters away from the mainland. Adventure seekers can walk to the island during low tide from Dharmadom beach. However considering safety aspects, it is highly advisable to hire a boat to get there. A fresh water well is seen in the island, also ruins of a building indicating human presence in it. Another interesting thing is a british era stone, marking "Union of India Territory" in the island. The island is beautifully green with coconut trees and dense bushes. It also the habitat of many species. This five acre island is surrounded by huge rocks and boulders which protect it from high tides. District Tourism Promotion Council has recently started Kayaking at dharmadam Beach. Muzhappilangadu and Dharmadam together makes an ideal destination for a day's outing.

Dharmadam island located near Thalassery in Kannur district.. Just 4 km away from Thalassery town.. it's a beautiful small island just few meter away from the coast.. Walking through less water and reaching the island is an exciting experience... you can cross the river during low tide.. better to cross in between 3 to 4 pm .. otherwise tide level may increase.. it is a great picnic spot.. you can experience the wonder of nature during the visit.

Dharmadom Island located near Thalassery, Kannur. This stunning island is covered with a canopy of coconut palms and dense bushes, surrounded by rivers on three sides and the sea on the other. The place gives a brilliant view of the confluence of the Anjarakandy and Thalassery rivers. Good place to take picture's/wedding shoots.

A must visit for trekkers and explorers. Discover the Vasco da Gama in your soul. A trek along the low tide sands and climb atop the island mountain is a once in a lifetime experience

It's situated near to darmadam beach, but you can visit only during low tide... During low tide you can walk from beach to the island.. It's a nice experience walking in middle of sea... From beach it's hardly 600m walk... People who wants to do photoshoot it's pretty good place... But beware about high tide timings... Water will increase drastically so once you go come back asap..

You'll get to see fishing and buy fresh fish in the morning and see beautiful sunset on evenings. While low tide, it's possible to walk through the sea and get to the island where you can collect variety of shells.....it's a really nice experience.
