Found this hidden gem while attending an event at the art museum....a quick walk through the theater and there is the fire museum. Free admission and you get a free patch! Volunteers run the museum and donations are welcome.... Beautiful vintage trucks are parade ready and the firehouse is shown as originally operated in the early 1900s. Definitely worth 30 minutes the next time you are in the area.

Came here on a Saturday morning. Online it said open only on Friday and Saturdays. 9:30 am. We waited from 9:30 to 11am and no one ever showed up to open this museum. I even called their number just to get a message saying they open at 9am. Doesn't make sense! My family and I were so disappointed. At least have someone put up a sign outside saying "not open today" so people don't waste their time waiting.

Great little museum that is free to visit. I’d recommend stopping by if you’re in the area visiting The Science Center, Leu Gardens, Orlando Museum of Art or any other attraction… it’s a great add on activity with no extra cost.

The only reason I'm giving this one star is because we've tried twice now to visit this museum and both times they have been closed. We called ahead during the week and were told that they are open on Fridays and Saturdays just like the sign says on their door. This wouldn't be such a problem if we lived close by, but we live an hour away. If we ever get the chance to actually see the museum I will edit my review.

On Friday 06-15-2018 visited the museum. unexpectedly a private tour with very expert explanations about what there is to see. There are very nice fire vehicles inside. Thanks to the firefighter from station 3 and thank you very much for the t-shirts and patches. Marcus from the Netherlands

Was here April 16, 2022. This is a little gem. Cost $0 for enter. They only ask for donations. Talk to a volunteer firefighter and his son there. What good example he is setting. Museum itself is small. Have 2 floor. Have some retire fire trucks there. You can even seat in it. Personally. I really enjoy this place. See how and what they use to fight fire. Great for little ones.

It was a great and historical experience, learning first hand about life on a U S Fire Station. Sharing our common experiences as fire fighters. Warm friendly staff, well maintained exhibits and would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Nice little Gem. It's free though I always like to donate a little. It is also well kept. They allow visitors to sit on one of the fire trucks as well which the kids love. Staff and volunteers are always friendly. This is great if you are looking for something that is quick to complete while still interesting.

Wonderful, small, donation-based museum, that was a real firehouse but transported to a new location. The chrome and brass of old equipment is amazing. Also look at the communication systems: they have working fire-alarm telegraph systems hooked up and ready for demonstration. Staffed by former Orlando firefighters when I visited, eager to add personal context to all the items on display.

Went there at 10:45 am on a Friday and the doors were locked. There was also a whole summer camp group of kids waiting. They're chaperone called and confirmed they'd be open. I tried calling then and no one answered.

Love this place!! It takes about 20-30 mins to do. Don't think many people know about it, kinda hidden gem. It's free they do request donations... too easy right? Took my daughter (7) and son (16) it had both of their interest for a while..

Free entry, great people, and tons of history. They have 4 apparatus, a bunk room, and plenty of history. They have an optional donation box and tons of merchandise that is optional to buy. The only downside is that they're only open on Friday and Saturday (I don't believe they're open on Sundays) 10-4.

Great place and great staff! Staff volunteer to be there showing people the 100-yr history of Orlando fire station. You can ride on the cool trucks and take pictures. Loved the experience. I was told that the museum is owned by the city but the museum has no fund. I was told someone wants to purchase this place and turn it into a restaurant. If you are interested, please visit and show support. I really don’t want this wonderful place to become just another profitable restaurant. It is a great asset to the city of Orlando.

Really cute, well kept place. A retired firefighter gave us a tour. They've done a great job keeping everything in good condition and it is really interesting to learn some history. It is also nice that it is free. If you call it says they open at 9am on the recording, but the door says 10am. And any souvenirs are cash only.
