The set of resources needed to treat mental illnesses revolves around the Mental Health Center. The family doctor, once the case has been assessed and the first care given, which in many cases is the only one necessary, can refer the patient to the Mental Health Center of the territory. In this Center specialized in mental health and which is made up of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses and administrators, the patient will be assessed and treated according to their needs, be they psychiatric, psychological or their social order requirements. If you are a patient with a serious illness, you may be included in a program called the TMS program (Severe Mental Disorder), which will ensure the continuity of treatment and offer the patient the possibility of a more intensive approach.

As a family member of a sick patient, I have to say that it is fatal. Very disappointing. The answer they always give: CALL THE COPS, let's get them out of the problem. Total disappointment.

It doesn't matter if you need help, they won't give it to you or make it easy for you to get it, even if you go there under your doctor's order. When you call you will be attended to by one of the four or five receptionists in the worst possible way. We need to fight for an efficient and effective mental health service.
