Budget hotel, rooms cheaply furnished but have everyting is needed, clean and spacious with comfortable beds, cleaned daily. Nice pool with water playground which our kids just loved. Delicious meals - fresh and varied. Very nice and helpful staff - I recommend for a week's trip. The downside is the thin doors and walls - fortunately the guests of the hotel kept silence at night. Lots of shops and tapas bars nearby, close to the beach and the train station so you can vist Barcelon or nearby towns.

No aircon or window in main bedroom,glass door on bathroom and bedroom gave no privacy, otherwise no complaints at all.Staff were fantastic and everything lovely and clean.Well located within walking distance of everything.

Amazing family trip, the staff and management are perfect and super helpful. The rooms are modern and super clean! Only thing I would like to see ahead of my next visit is some sort of entertainment or background music during the day, as well as adult entertainment of late evening, with kids entertainment early evening.

Stayed here for 9 days. Would recommend. Staff are lovely. Food choices were excellent. Rooms could do with a little update, but very clean. Perfect central point to visit local areas and Barcelona is a train ride away. Short walk to a lovely beach with water sports and restaurants. Swimming pool is not very big but okay to cool down and have a quick dip. I'm definitely visiting again 😍

Nice place for family holiday. Tasty food, very helpful staff. Room is always clean, but hotel needs better maintenance. Free WiFi, 7 minutes walk to beach. Anyway, we still back here.

NO SUNBED WARS!!! Is a massive bonus as it can ruin a holiday sometimes. This place ticks so many boxes for us as a family of 4 with two children aged 6 and 3. The complex is small enough without it being claustrophobic but safe enough you don't need to follow them as you can keep eyes on them at all times. The pool the same, just the right size (and temperature!). The food is fabulous and VERY good value. We're having a great holiday here, but the reasons why it doesn't get 5 star review for me is the white stone buildings facing the pool need a good lick of paint to give it a fresh clean look and I would love to pick the hotel up and place it closer to the centre of Calella because it is a good 1.3miles/25 min walk away and with two little kids it's a bit difficult. That walk does consist of the shopping district street but not many bars or entertainment until you get to the other/touristy end. However, only a 10 mins walk to the train station so can hop to anywhere for only a few euros! All in all, I would recommend this hotel.

We've moved to GHT Balmes hotel from another GHT hotel on the sea front. So it was not our initial choice. But we are really glad we've ended up spending our time here. Yes, that is not the most up to date place but considering the price I am more than pleased with it. First of all I like the feel of it. The story of this hotel started 60 years ago. And you've got the true feeling of it here while decent renovation was made to make this place comfortable. Kid's pool zone is brand new, adults' pool is in a great condition. Even though the area is small it is nice and green. Trees are like 30+ y.old. Rooms are small but really comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Food. We had a HB. As vegans we didn't expect much. But we were really surprised to get great dinners here with good selection of options for us. We are very grateful that our issue with hotel switch was sorted out by management. That was really kind of them.

Very well organised but very crowded and lots of children in the summer. The pool was big enough for us as we went in low season but I don't think it would be sufficient in summer. Other than that, its super close to the beach, the train station and the shops, which we found to be very helpful

Nice workers and service. Some rooms are a little outdated and honestly a bit disgusting. Besides that and the bleachwater that was served at the first night, a very nice stay for the price.

To start of this holiday was supposed to me amazing however it change quickly as we went to the room to find a broken ac in hot temperatures and a shower that wasn't sealed properly so it would go all over the bathroom floors then we had to rush to sunbeds and god forbid you leave them alone for less than a few seconds or it is towel chucked on the floor and someone move there and the food is same thing and if they don't have room it's a 35 minute wait for food that you book and paid for as they can't accommodate for everyone they also take any outside drinks and try to bin them rudely and it's same music for the kids every night so after all that the only good thing is the shops and food stalls not even a 5 minute walk away.

Avoid at all costs, arrived around 11am rooms wasn’t ready till 3pm not even 5 minutes of being in the rooms a glass wall shattered all over the place leading to being rushed to hospital needing stitches the front desk was rang immediately asking for help taking them over 10 minutes to even come up upon arriving they was more concerned about the blood all over the floor and bed then checking I was okay or assisting calling an ambulance they then left with no help no apologies nothing it took us asking for a different room with bits of glass still being around the room and having a 3 year old with us we was then moved to a room with a full glass interior bathroom with no privacy at all and bit strange to transfer us to a room like that after being traumatised already with what had happened. When inspected the other room the rest of the family was in it was obvious this kind of thing had happened before with there being silver bars left in the wall where glass used to be which now wasn’t??? Had it fallen out previously on someone?? A child? And still no change? The bathrooms stunk like stale piss the cleaners changed our sheets and cleaned the room once our whole 1 week stay we would have to leave dirty towels out side the room or they wouldn’t even come in and take them our towels were replaced twice the whole time (both room) Staff at the front desk were a shambles expect for the one man who worked night shift he was very helpfully and kind seemed to do his best for everyone The manager however when brought to our attention we needed an accident form filling out she suddenly acted to us she didn’t understand England and kept struggling her shoulders even tho speaking to us days prior in English tried to tell us by speaking threw staff that accident forms don’t exist and we couldn’t have one, we got one a hour before we left the hotel, The hotel have refused to apologise and refused to take liability of the what happened with the rooms being unsafe but avoided us at all costs our whole stay , I had trouble walking the first few days of the stay with this happening day one! My parents would go get me snacks/ drinks from the pool bar when I was comfortable enough to go by my self I was refused every single time with the excuses the pumps not working there’s not chips left the cookers are of etc.. 1 day there was a lot of people at the food area eating I felt it was just me so put it to the test I was refused chips as apprently none left so I when back to the pool then noticed my sister sat in the food area snuck round the back and asked her to go up for me she was served straight away????? Upon all of this our whole stay no complaints no arguments accrued nothing until day 5 so all this no food and completely being ignored by staff had no reasoning I felt targeted by the hotel for something that was there fault. The rooms where filthy we spoke to a few people around the poool who has also had to move rooms with how dirty they where The hot tub had a vile smell coming from it and had alsort at the bottom my 3year old brother ended up with hand foot and mouth from being in there. The entire pool area is ridiculous covered in files due to dirty bins not being maintained properly behind the wall.

Family of 4, had a great time, we all loved the pool area, especially the kids. Food and drink good, staff very friendly, plenty of local bars and eateries near by, 10 min walk to the beach with mopey kids. Only complaint, the sand on the beach is like grit, but thats not the hotels fault.

5 minutes walk to the train station, 2 minutes walk to the main road serviced by buses, 2 minutes from the big supermarket. This hotel is an extremely kid friendly hotel, so it gets noisy and rowdy, but out kids loved it. Pools are great, staff are really friendly, breakfast and dinner service are excellent, room is seen to every day by the housekeepers. Would highly recommend to families, especially with younger children, maybe 15 and under. Great hotel for all ages though.

4 people on this trip for a short break. We were concerned as such a good deal but we were blown away with the value for money, incredible food and service, rooms spotlessly clean and cleaned every day with fresh towels and constant entertainment. Great position to explore local beaches too. Would highly recommend if you want VFM, nice people and lovely food.

Absolutely brilliant place. The room was clean and tidy when we got here, and was cleaned daily throughout the holiday. The air-con in the room was amazing when coming back from a hot trip out. The food choice in the restaurant was great everyday, we stayed half board, but that was perfect as it didn't restrict us during the day. Even if you're a fussy eater there's something for everyone. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the beach and about 4-5 minutes from the nearest shops. The area is lively during the day and quieter of a night making it great for a relaxing holiday in my opinion. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic clean hotel with very friendly, happy staff. Very child friendly & lots of entertainment for them during the day & evening. Trips run throughout the week from the hotel at no extra cost & there's as much food on offer as you can eat with various themes each day. Me & my family had a fabulous time & couldn't fault the hotel or Calella town on anything.

Hotel position--> 10 min walk to the beach. You can't see the beach from hotel room. Room-->Not perfect clean and beautiful especially bathroom. Hairdryer was so weak. If you want dry hair perfectly, you might be better to bring yours or travel size product. Toilet wasn't clean up enough. There is a bidet too. I don't like this though... But window shut the outside noise perfectly. Our room's main bed was hiding in the wall. it had a slightly angle so wasn't perfect but matless was so thick, that was good. The sub bed for my son ( 5 yrd ) was good. Pool-->Brilliant. Children were enjoying at there all day. They have tod's pool too( Shark one ). But Tod's pool's water was a bit colder than main pool. Main pool is so warm to swim. Meal-->SUPER. Even the restaurant isn't romantic and sober, you just want have yummy meal with your children, don't you? Most of people were using 3 times a day without go to restaurant :) I am from Japan, I thought it's really close taste my country meal. So I really really enjoyed meal( I am living in the UK now X) ). It might be depend on the room but it was good holiday at this hotel. Children are so kind and gentle as well. Cleaners were so kind and friendly, staffs in the restaurant as well. Just be aware if you don't know this though... at the beach lots of women doesn't wear top bikini!

Typically Spanish Hotel. What a warm welcome,. Lovely room with balcony overlooking the tree lined street. A short stay with my 13 year old granddaughter . Stay was with continental buffet breakfast . Lovely pool area, entertainment team and rooms kept very clean. Staff at reception really helpful. Good quiet location within walking distance to beach, main shopping area and restaurants. Station to Barcelona within 15 minutes walk. Lovely holiday Thankyou

Quiet, clean, hotel. Rooms where well equipped. Pool.area is fantastic. Cocktails r amazing. Kids club wasn't too well organised though and night time entertainment was shocking at times with no atmosphere. Lights within ur balconies get turned off at 11pm.

Entertainment goes on a bit late one disco ending past midnight if your room isnt above where they do the disco you may be ok if it is buy ear plugs other than that was a nice stay and would def come back.
