We had a lovely time at an open day on 15th August with our 11 month old daughter and friends. On arrival, we were greeted by children having a lovely time on pedalos to our right, and a bustling shop on the left, from which we could buy drinks, alpaca wool, honey, and ice creams. We began our visit by seeing a porcupine and the pelicans (one of which came out of the water and stood near enough on my foot, to my daughter's delight), before seeing tortoises and monkeys, meerkats, armadillos, and so much more. The tamarins seemed particularly interested in my daughter and came right up to the glass and prodded at her, which gave us all a wonderful view of them. All the animals seemed happy and relaxed. The centre of the farm is a large, picturesque lake, and people were sitting around it relaxing. The farm itself is accessible by walking through the stunning Cassiobury Park or along the canal path, so there is much to be enjoyed by the way of nature. It seems a shame that this attraction is not often open as it is a lovely place to walk and relax as well as enjoy the animals.

Went today for one of the very rare open days, I don't understand why they can not open more often, they get people out and also help small businesses. Its a lovely little find with some great animals. Would like more information about the place itself but for what they provide is great. Maybe hard work for buggies and wheelchairs but is manageable. Maybe a few extra washing facilities near the animals you feed.

This is a hidden gem and you wouldn't think you were in Watford walking around it. I went with my fiancee as a random afternoon out and we loved it. the animals looked happy and well looked after. The animals were intrigued by the humans walking around and some even came up close to be fed. In total, it took about an hour and a half to walk around and see everything we wanted to bit in future, this will be longer as they are always developing. Who would have thought that Watford could be so peaceful and beautiful at the same time? Would highly recommend to anyone. There are a wide variety of animals to see, including a petting zoo as well as a local produce stall selling jams, bread amongst other things. Once you are done at the animal enclosure, you have a huge park to walk around with child's play area and a newly developed tea and coffee stop. Not quite a whole day out, but you could lose an afternoon for sure. The only down side to this is it's not very well advertised and we only found out about it through word if mouth. It's good to help your local community and businesses so will be visiting again.

A very surprising little gem. It's open only a few times a year for non-members but so worth a visit. It has so many animals that you wouldn't see in a normal zoo. There's lots of different children's activities from little tractor ride ons park, dinosaur trail, playground, boat rides and more. There's also lots of places to get lunch, coffee and snacks or just benches to sit on by the water and have packed lunch. Overall a lovely place to spend the day with kids.

I will always love this farm! Because it’s only open a handful of times a year and because it’s not in the most obvious of places it makes you feel like you’re in some sort of secret society and I love it. I love the fact you can buy feed for 50p and feed a great number of the animals in the farm yard. I also love the number of exotic animals they have for a farm in watford. They have raccoons, artic foxes and my favourites Capybara which is odd for a small farm in a city. I will continue to go to this farm every year for at least one of there open days and highly recommend it to anyone, old, young, family, couples, with young children and without. Everyone will love it.

We had a lovely visit at the recent open day. We had been once before to the pre-Christmas open day, and were pleased to see a significant amount of work has been done in the 7 month period to improve the animals enclosures and ensure they have more space and stimulation (on our previous visit I was unhappy due to the small enclosures, but the gennet for example now has about 8 times as much space as it had before). There are a few enclosures that could still do with some work though, so hopefully they are next on the list for improving. There is a lovely selection of animals - including wolf-dogs, kangaroos, wallabies, zebra, fossa, squirrel monkeys, meerkats and plenty more. We had a trip out on one of the lakes in a pedallo as well and overall spent about 4 hours there. Anyone visiting should be aware that there is only disabled parking on site, but other visitors can park in either the cassiobury park car park or on one of the residential roads in Croxley Green, a short walk away.

A really nice day out. There are a lot of things to do and see. You can feed the animals and some can be petted, they are very gentle. There is a stall with farm produce and the eggs were really nice. Why 4? Not the best map, probably not updated. Some of the enclosures seem to little for the animals they house. There was a burger stall, but the burgers were pre-grilled so not the best taste. The lady taking orders wasn't cut out for taking orders so the que was long because she wasn't able to remember any orders. Some of the prices we on the high side. I review these places taking in consideration my kid's reaction too, hence 4 not 3 stars. She absolutely loved it.

Been meaning to to come here for a while. Very nice morning. There was a bouncy castle, coffee, facepaints and craft stalls. They do have a cafe however didn't go in there. They have a limited amount of spaces per open day so it didn't feel crowded or packed. Interesting amount of animals. You could feed some of them. Staff were lovely. No car parking onsite however I do believe you can give them a ring if disabled and book a place. Check the website for that though A surprising gem in watford!

The most stunning place on earth! Quiet peaceful, relaxed animals! Lovely scenery warm, helpful and caring staff Every time new additions All in all the best experience I’ve ever had in a β€˜zoo’ because it is not a zoo but a place animals of every corner of the world can call their home

Lovely place. Country side. Place for kids to play, meet different kind of animals. There are Beach chairs to relax for a while. Plenty of room for picnic. Various entertainment activities, like fishing, sea bicycle and playground for young ladies and gentlemen.
